Chelle -- that's way too cute!! Of course, Franny has a page too.
QOTD: I've changed some of my ways, but it's kind of hard for me to call it a sacrifice. Like, I spend a lot less time sitting on my behind watching tv. But I still watch the shows I want to watch. I just don't do as much mindless sitting. I don't miss it, though, so it's hard to think of it as a sacrifice.
With other things, like food, there's nothing that I've given up 100%. I'll still enjoy a Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich on occasion (although I honestly don't remember the last time....). It's just that I don't have one every other day anymore!
I guess that's a good NSV. My old lifestyle is now so unfamiliar to me. I don't miss anything about it, so it doesn't really seem like I'm sacrificing anything at all.
I am going to weigh in later this morning. I am hoping to see the 175 mark. My scale here at home says I made it. I had a horrible afternoon yesterday. I had to go get my DS from school because he was sick and take him to the doctor. He is really congested and the doctor gave him an antibiotic and decongestant. The pharmacy took forever. When I got home I ran over one of my cats. I didn't even know that I had hit him until about 15 minutes after I got home. It is a good thing that I had a chocolate lite. After I found him, I wanted chocolate really bad and just wanted to eat. I just ate my lite and drank water. I am definitely an emotional eater. We have about 7 cats but he was one of my favorites. Another thing that made it worse was my hubby wasn't even here. I had to pick him up at the airport at 9:30 last night. So, I had to wait to get him buried.
I hope that today is a better day. Well, I guess that I have spread enough bad news today. I will try to post my WI weight later.
Chelle - If that's short hair, mine must be micro-hair. The headache is better, thanks.
A lot of people say that when dieting & exercising, you have to sacrifice something in order to acheive your goals. Do you feel like you had to sacrifice something to get where you are in your weight loss today? If so... what is it?
Sleep comes to mind, since I now get up at 5:30 instead of 7:30. Also dinners out with the in-laws, but that's a bonus, not a sacrifice. And as both my SILs just had babies, our weekly Friday dinners were going to be a thing of the past anyway. (They seem shocked that they can't maintain their prebaby lifestyles, I don't think they realized how expensive babies are.)
Dionne - I'm so sorry about your cat. Losing a pet is so hard.
Here's a pic from August my hair is about 2 or 3 inches longer than this now cause I haven't gotten it colored since then and I can measure my roots! I really need to get it trimmed too
I've weighed myself this morning, and it's a loss, so I will record it today instead of Monday What was I thinking-- even if I do have internet at the ski resort, I won't have a scale!! LOL.
Chelle - Thanks for the call out, girl. TOM is just on his way out of town again, so I've been up on the scales (eff you TOM!) and feeling pretty gloomy. Plus my boss just moved into my part of the office, so I haven't been able to get on here as much! I have big plans for this weekend, so hopefully the scale will go back down and I can get my life back in order! I'm loving the novel, though!

Yes and no. I've (mostly) given up drinking and partying, which I don't see as a big sacrifice, but my girlfriends sure think it is! I just find that, with a few exceptions, a big night of drinking leads to a huge gain, unhealthy eating, and some less-than-stellar decision-making for the next few days. So, I limit how much I drink, how often, and in what contexts.
Hi team mates!! Hope everyone has had a good week!
TOM is on its way for me as well. So I am hoping I dont have to take a freebie this week. I have lost almost 3 lbs since Mondays WI so I am looking forward to a big number for next week!
Chelle I love the pictures!! You looked like you were having lots of fun at the wedding.
Ginger I love how you have displayed your goals. What a great reminder for yourself!
Dionne I am so sorry about your cat! I have two cats and they are my world! I hope you can find some solace, and dont stress eat!
Good Luck this weekend everyone!

Like dancing on the table? Yep, been there, done that. There's a reason I haven't drank since 2001.
Rhonda - I'm so glad that you are just like me! Busy bee with a project always on hand! I wish I could help you paint and decorate, that's always been a passion of mine is to be an interior decorator. If not that just to help on an HGTV show
I've always wanted to be an interior decorator, too! Do you do this....walk into someone's house and start re-decorating it in your mind? I have to make myself bite my tongue sometimes! We moved into this house in June and, I swear, I had it almost entirely decorated in my head before we even moved in. I'm planning on making either an upholstered headboard or use some molding and different colored paint to serve as a headboard. I have tons of ideas, but not much money. Thank God for Wal-Mart, K-mart, Target...and garage sales!

Kelly - OMG! I would have given that teacher a piece of my mind! That's the one thing that I fear in having a child is that Daniel and I have terrible tempers and mean streaks when we get heated. I'm really afraid I'm going to pass that on to my kids. Talking about it like its a disease doesn't help either. Did the teacher say specifically what your son was doing wrong?
QOTD for Today:
A lot of people say that when dieting & exercising, you have to sacrifice something in order to acheive your goals. Do you feel like you had to sacrifice something to get where you are in your weight loss today? If so... what is it?.
I too have a temper and I figured I better get out of there before I hit her and got stuck by lightening (it is a Catholic Private School - maybe that is my problem). He is just not finishing his work. What he does is correct, but somethings don't get finished and other things he never gets to. In his defense, I would tune this teacher out too if I had to listen to her, since she is dull as a dish rag and judgemental to boot.
ALSO, can you imagine expecting a 7-8 yr old boy to sit for 3 hours straight in the mornings and do NOTHING but seat work. I'm 35 and female and I have to go to the bathroom more often than that.
ANYWAY ...
QOTD:
I had to give up Coke (the drinkable kind) ... no really, I don't see it (other than the Coke) as having to give things up so much as what I am gaining. My father sent me a cartoon about a month ago (I can't find it or I would show it). The cartoon had a doctor talking to his patient and the line below had the doctor saying "Don't worry, when your dead you'll have 24 hours a day to workout." I need to do things now ... not put them off, because you never know when the "I'll start Monday" may never roll around.
The University that I work for always sends out a monthly health newsletter. There's a section for quotes, and this one from George Tricker (who, according a web search, is a comedian) just made me chuckle:
"I'm on this amazing new diet. You can eat whatever you want, whenever you want, and as much as you want. You don't lose any weight, but it's very easy to stick to."
I have an 8 yo too and one thing that amazes me is how much they have these kids on the move all day. The longest thing they do is math from 9:10 to 10:30 and then nothing else is longer than 1/2 hr., plus, they switch classes (within their pod) for math and science, so they switch subjects and get them moving. Sounds like they want kids to act like adults for the convenience of the adults. That's hard.
