Ha! Ha! I time my evening workouts to coincide with Jeopardy. I usually use the ellipticals at the gym. The gym TVs have closed captioning, so I guess technically I read Jeopardy while listening to my iPod and using the elliptical. To quote from a movie I like: "Opree calls it multitasking!"

Hey that was a Red team thing! LOL! But, I'm glad you guys get so much out of it nonetheless!

Have a good one!
This is supposed to be really good to do it twice a day. Something about taking advantage of after burn or something, but I tend to lose more when i exercise morning and evening as well. I'm not a jeopardy fan though

You know this is one of the reasons I think you are fabulous. However, if you start posting standard deviations, I am going to recommend therapy (regardless of what Bob thinks of it).
How sad is it I had to google standard deviation? It has been WAY to long since I have been in a math class. So no, there are no deviations here. I could use some therapy though.

Someone thinks I am fabulous!!! You just made my day. Thank you.

Chelle, I had a couple of thoughts:

1) sure, you can eliminate people who haven't posted in a week or 2 week period. If they post and say I'm going on vaca and will be back ......, then they're accounted for while they're gone. I think it's your challenge and pretty much you can make up whatever rules are needed to make it worth the time & trouble you put in. If people don't like the rules, guess what, they don't have to play!

2. About being on teams you don't like. Well, I'm on my fourth challenge, I"m back to blue and I've rotated thru all 3. In that time, I've come to know you, melissa, and our lovely gator girl in OK quite well as mods! The people keep rotating so much that it's like school - one year you'll be w/your best friend and one year you won't, but it doesn't mean you can't still eat lunch together (or in our case, chat on the spoilers thread, crossover in the chat threads of each others group, join an exercise challenge together, etc). Come on, buck up and play for the team you are assigned to!

3) Seriously? I think the team leads should have a draft. i know the numbers and weight to lose has to jive and be fair, but could you all IM and you each take a turn picking someone, or at least pick your first 10 members and after that it can be a random draw? I don't see that at all as a popularity contest, I see it as a sports draft. If you are a strong participant, crank out your exercise, and show losses, you will be in demand. If you come here every challenge for the social aspect of things but never quite get the scale to move, well, you're going to be a little further down the list. It's not at all like hs gym class - it's called a little competition for us to all try our hardest if we want to do this again on another challenge!

As far as weight loss, I don't know the answer to that. I wish that both we and the actual show could do something about bodyfat percentage lost, but I realize that's not practical here w/o everyone having a fat measuring scale. I guess what we're doing is best and if some people feel that they are doing a different type of program that won't show big numbers, they have to decide if this format still works for them or not. Chelle and I have im'd about this for my own situation with weight lifting, but I try each time to make it work despite adding muscle weight and lifting heavy.

Oh, and on personals? If I see another person whining that their posts are not answered or acknowledged, I will flip my lid. People, this is not your SOCIAL network, it is a SUPPORT network. As others here have said, if there is something you have said or asked about that I feel like applies to me or I might have knowledge about, I will respond to you. So like if dixie asks about her weight lifting routine, or someone asks about protein smoothies, that is where you know that i will jump in. If you ask about atkins vs sobe or how to start running, I cannot respond, and the threads are too long for me to jsut say, 'oh, I don't know about that, but good luck.' Sorry. Likewise, I don't look for people to respond to my posts either. Some get responses, some do not. I don't let the sun rise and fall on if someone shoots me a personal or not - that's not why I'm here. But if I ask a specific question, I will get a few responses usually. That's pretty cool!

My last note, I do get sad when people stop coming by - like maybe Amberelise - ONLY because I care for them. I am not calling her out other than to say I'm thinking of her in her Chicago, I wonder if she and the bf are still hitting the gym at work, or if they're back to running stairs. She was so good about sharing so much with us that I miss it and wonder how she is. That's all. But I'm sure she'll come back when something shifts and she is able to again.

So, I have my flame ******ant suit on, so feel free to flame me. But like Chelle requested, I'm just showin' ya'll my bellybutton!

Hey everyone,

I went to WI today and have not lost anything. I have been down today. However, I did have a NSV. I did not cheat on my plan at all even with fixing the Valentine bags for DS class. This is big for me because food is usually one of the first things I reach for when I am down. I am blue because my weight didn't change and my DH is not home. I hope that everyone else had a great OP day.

I plan for tomorrow to be a better day for me.

I know the feeling about the V-Day candy ... I had to keep reminding myself that I had ONLY exactly enough for DS' class and if I ate anything someone was going to get shorted. Kept me in line ... craving sugar ... but in line

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Okay so I'm not doing so well. Our daughter is sick again. The school called Tuesday for me to come get her. I took her to the Doctor yesterday. He did a strep test and it came back neg, then to the hospital for a flu test and it came back neg. She has been running a fever between 101.2 - 103.4 and we have had a hard time keeping it down yesterday and through the night.

Yesterday I was so tired from being up the night before that I didn't do any exercise at all. I didn't eat well and I really ate nothing but junk. I don't know why but when I'm depressed or lacking sleep I tend to eat more. I can kinda understand the depression part but lack of sleep? Does anyone else do that?

We are waiting for the Doctor to call I'm going to bug him to death until I finds out what's wrong with her.

She has been coughing for over a month and he says that's asthma. She is using 2 inhalers one up to 8 times a day and the other 2 times a day.
She missed 7 days of school. Went back for about 4 and now is out again. I really feel like I'm going Crazy!

The coughing is driving me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stand hearing it anymore. I know that it must be driving her nuts as well.

I can tell this is going to be a great VALENTINE'S DAY. Oh and on top of this we have a birthday party planned for her for sat. I don't know do I cancel it or wait and see if she is better by then.

Okay I'll end here just needed to vent.
Pam

Happy Valentine's Day, Bluesers!

Today is day 1 of my challenge to myself to stay on-plan for 365 days. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes in my body and health over the next coming year. A big 'Thank you' to Purple for motivating me to do this. I've also decided to start the C25K program on March 1st. This was great motivation for me to get on the treadmill for an hour last night. I actually stepped off at 30 minutes to quit, but made myself get back on and finish up an hour. If I'm going to run, I need to work on some stamina.

Dionne - I'm sorry that the scales aren't smiling for you right now and your Hubby is not around for you today. Have you just hit one of those nasty plateus or can you do some tweaking?
Pam - I hope the doctors can find out what's wrong with you DD. She must be miserable! Lack of sleep does make me head for the kitchen in search of some starchy carbs, so I understand. At least, you are aware of the problem and can be on guard. Hope you get some rest soon.
Kimberly - Congratulations on your 4 pound loss!

Yuck, all of this talk about standard deviations! I really detest math and statistics just bore the heck out of me....maybe, because I just don't get them? Now, if you need someone to stand in front of a large group and make a presentation, I'm your gal! Next time I have to do a detailed analysis of data for one of my projects, I'll have to look one of you gals up for a little tutoring! Kelly, I bet you love SPC XL, huh?

Hope everyone has a great on-plan day. GO BLUE!!!

Hmm, thought I was behind but only one page of posting since I was here last.

Someone mentioned Amberelise...has anyone heard from her? I miss her posts!

SCGirl & Purple...I have been breaking my workouts in half for a while now...just works better for me, and I seem to feel better doing it this way.

BradleysMom...WTG on the 4 pounds!

Pam...sorry to hear about your DD. Hope the doctors find out something soon. Not sure what I would do about the party, if it were me I would probably cancel until she is better, but that's me. :hugs:

Ferrarimom...Don't be so hard on yourself, we all have days/weeks/months where we don't lose-just hang in there missy. Woohoo on your NSV!

Nothing much going on today...did 65 minutes of exercise this morning before heading out to run errands. The rest of the day is free, yay! Will get the rest of my exercise done earlier than after Jeopardy today and hopefully get in some reading. Finally finished the last book and moving on to #4 for the month. Definitely making my reading goal of 3-4 books a month, plus more. The same with exercise....I keep saying I will slow down but don't see it happening. Tata for now
