G'morning Bluezers!!! :coffee: Having my coffee and done changing and feeding all the babies and the two boys are off on the bus now. :)

Today is our 11th anniversary. Looking forward to having Subway for lunch. (he wanted to pick up Chinese, I said sorry, hunny, no way, cals would kill me, not to mention sodium, u need to get that for lunch when u aren't with me.) Gonna hang out in our living room while the babies nap and play board games. We never get to since none of our kids can read well yet so we have to play things with them. We make it a point at least 2 or 3 times a year to sit down and play our own games; we have at least 60 games here. (If he shows up late for this, he's going to get it. :rollpin: Been planned forever! :frypan:

My DH used to assistant manage a KB toys (while still working as a parole officer, lol. Never saw him much then either!). He got really good discounts so we loved shopping there. And he's a big kid so he enjoyed seeing what new stuff was coming in that week to buy for our nieces and nephews. We didn't even have kids of our own then, we did have exchange students tho. And they liked the goofy stuff we'd get them from there too, lol. :hyper:

Oh and esp. at Halloween, most of our teenagers had never had a Halloween so taking them dressed up to trick or treat was almost the best time we'd had. They loved getting candy and acting silly. We dress up too and they thought that was funny.

Ok, sorry to ramble. Just thought about that bc its almost Halloween time. I love it! :haphal:

Ok, today will be day 45 OP! :dancer: Yayyyyy!!!!! Gets easier every day that passes too. I have days where I want something, start thinking and thinking I want it more.. but then I just eat it and I'm good. I can't eat as much later but that's what it's all about, compromise, right? I eat a candy bar at least 3 times a week. LOL. :cookie: Yesterday was 2/3 of a Reese's crunchy bar? Didn't like it, won't buy one of those again. Not into peanuts and they are all in it. I like Reese cups tho. I ask him to bring me one pack (holds 2)about 2 weeks ago. He bought 2 4-packs of them. 8!!! I fed them to him and the kids, and I ate 2 that day. Geez! Can I get a little support here please??? Anyone else with this going on???? :?:

Oh and get this, I was 222.0 the day b4 yesterday, then showed 220.5 yesterday, then this a.m., 222.0 again. I hate the scale something awful. :tantrum: I know you all said stay off it some but I can't! Not with the challenge going. I didn't even have a scale when I lost the first 50 lbs in 2004. I just weighed about once a month if I was at my MIL's or the doc or my kids' doc. I just stayed OP and knew by measuring. But now. Not good. I weigh every morning. Luckily I'm not freaked out. I just say Oh well. Always something different.

I will shut up now. :tape: Just one of those mornings. LOL. Maybe I will be back to the ghostly 220.5 by next weigh-in! :ghost: Hmmm.. we'll see. :dunno:

Big hugs, hope ur day goes well everyone! Going to change my chick and ticker. No time the other day, dang it. :dizzy:

Afternoon, Blue Beauties! So, we posted a very slight gain overall this week, and I know my number was a huge contributing factor...so, I apologize.

That said, I just KNOW I'm going to pull a big loss next week--as are all the ladies that posted gains! You know what happens on TBL when the pounds lost are low on a team? They come back swingin' the next week! So let's kick butt, ladies! I'm rearin' to go!

GirlyGirlSebas 10-09-2007 12:10 PM

Hi Blues!

Today, I'm re-starting my count down. Yep, I had seven consecutive days of being 100% on-plan and exercising, then I dropped the ball yesterday. I stayed on-plan all day and did my 60 minutes of exercise, but I had an un-scheduled un-planned restaurant meal yesterday evening. I let myself get trapped into thinking that I've been so good and I "deserved" to go off plan. What a bunch of baloney! I managed to not order a marguerita(I really really wanted one!) and I passed on appetizers, but I did order something totally off-plan and I nibbled on my daughter's french fries(my #1 weakness when eating out!) But, no problem. Today, I'm back to 100% on-plan and I will exercise on the treadmill for one hour today. The treadmill was rough yesterday. I think it might be the humidity....it is very hot here right now. My feet are swelling and I just feel so tired...but, no excuses!

I think I mentioned before that I have insulin resistance. I was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago and I've not done any research on this condition since then. Last night, I decided to look up the latest information on-line. The latest research shows that many many overweight people have IR....and, even more women who are going through peri-menopause or who have been through menopause. Ladies, if you are having problems getting the scales to move despite being on-plan, you might want to consider trying the recommended IR diet. On this diet, you don't eat any white potatoes, white rice, white pasta or white bread....only whole grains. Also, you remove added refined sugar from your diet, eat fruits in moderation and eat protein with every meal or snack.(FYI, this is identical to phase 2 of Southbeach!) This is a very healthy way of eating and can benefit anyone, however, those with IR or for those who think they might have IR, these dietary changes really work! Before I started my current plan, I tried Weight Watchers(flex,) Dr. Phil's plan, Jenny Craig and slim fast. I would lose that initial water weight in the first two weeks, then nothing. Now, I can lose with this plan and with consistent exercise.:carrot:

I'm really sorry to hear that we've lost two member's of our team.:( Diannawv, what happened? You were our biggest loser for week 1...8 pounds!

CharityKB and NoVaVTFan - Congratulations on getting back with exercise! The data on file with the National Weight Control registry shows that most people that maintain weight loss do exercise almost every day.
Cathy - so glad you've come up with a workout plan.
Michelle - I understand financial worries...we are in the middle of some of those ourselves. Its great that you've found a potential solution.
Marianne - Congrats with not gaining anything over your Thanksgiving holiday. You've set the standard for us American's in November. Hopefully, we can all measure up...or, would that be measure down?:chin:
Tina - I love working out at a gym,too...it does give me some extra motivation to not "look" bad in front of everyone. The nearest gym to us now if 30 minutes away, but I've seriously considered joining.
Soulbliss - Maybe you can combine flex and core by eating core foods and tracking points. To me, this seems like using the best of both plans.
Selina - Happy Anniversary! I hope you and Hubby have an awesome time playing "games" today....and, I hope all of your "games" can't be bought from Toys' R Us! :D

Hope everyone has a great on-plan day! :cheer:Go Blue!:cheer:

Tina30 10-09-2007 12:27 PM

:congrat: Selina on 11 years of marriage! Have a fantastic day with your husband!

Rhonda-I don't think your little slip yesterday will even affect you! You've been working out like crazy and your right back OP today! That is really the key, when we slip to get up, not stay down! Good for you! My gym is only 3 min. away, 30 min. would be a lot harder for me! PS....I'm with you french fries are my all time fav. food, I could eat them warm, hot, cold...I LOVE THEM! :dizzy:

Tina30 10-09-2007 12:30 PM

Azure- No need to say sorry, we all have our ups and downs, the thing that matters the most is that we get back up and move forward! Your moving in the right direction now! Keep it up girl!:)

SoulBliss 10-09-2007 12:34 PM

Hey Blue Team! Let's get going!!! We won EVERY week but the last one so GET TO IT and let's reclaim our spot as #1!!!

Fries are also my weakness (and tater tots, chips, and basically all salty, cooked in oil potatoes!)

That sounds smart because from what I've read elsewhere, core allows you to eat all you want (to "satisfaction") of things like whole grain rice and pasta and that wouldn't be a wise choice for me!!!

SoulBliss 10-09-2007 12:38 PM

Tina30, you are 15 pounds away from goal!!! :woohoo: Almost there!!!

Soon2BFitChick, have a wonderful anniversary.

Tina30 10-09-2007 03:02 PM

Okay ladies we are 181 miles away from South Africa!!!! I think we have arrived 1st to all the destinations....we are a bunch of exercising machines! Keep it up girls! Were are we off to next?

Tina30 10-09-2007 03:04 PM

Thanks Soul, I tell ya though this is that hardest of all my weight to take off! I have been at this last 15 pounds for over a year...I go up and down with the same 5 lbs! I am determined to do this though once and for all! The 80's are right around the corner for you! I like taking it 10lbs at a time! It makes it seem so much more doable (is that even a word?) :)

onthetee 10-09-2007 03:05 PM

Things are going well here today. Woke up this morning with fat fingers, and I cannot figure out what salt-laden food did that to me, but other than that, it is pretty good.

have not worked out in three days, which is unusual. Schedules just have nor permitted it. The weather finally changed, so I will be out for a run tonight and then Pilates during TBL.

Dea 10-09-2007 06:57 PM

well, the blue team sure isn't short on motivated ladies!!! There is no way we can lose another week.
Who mentioned french fries?? I made the mistake of saying 'bacon' on another thread and started something really awful!! I love fries...especially McDonalds (I know...the ultimate junk food emporium)
I had a hard time getting back on-plan today, after a week of no-plan. I started out okay, good intentions and all, but it blew up in my face (in the form of rice krispie squares) after school. I am planning an extra hour of exercise everyday this week to get back to where I was last week....no excuses. I wanted to go for a jog tonight, but it gets dark here so early, so it will be Turbo Jam for me!

Congrats on the anniversary Selina!!
No apologies needed from anyone....we are on this journey together, and we all have those ups and downs....lets concentrate on the "downs"!!
Have a great week ladies

Azure 10-09-2007 07:34 PM

Woot! I just logged my Cardio Kick time in at the Flight thread and we have ONE MINUTE LEFT until we win and need to figure out a new destination :D

If I could post more than 2 hours/day, I'd do some crunches/pushups to make it, but rules are rules! So someone, ladies! Go hit the floor and post so we can get flying to a new destination ;)

Tina30 10-09-2007 08:47 PM

Okay we made it to South Africa...where next?

Azure 10-09-2007 09:17 PM

Well, the contestants on the show went to Jamaica this week--how 'bout Jamaica, mon?

PS~ Tina, thanks for doing those 5 extra minutes to get us the win tonight :D

SoulBliss 10-09-2007 09:31 PM

:woohoo: Let's keep up the good work, Ladies!

Azure, I predict a BIG loss for you this week. ;)
