Today could be a challenge for me. When I am tired, I tend to graze horribly.

Yesterday around 4, I had some tea, which was green and minty. I grabbed the wrong box...I have green mint decaf and not decaf. I spent all but two hours last night in that almost-asleep-not-quite-awake state. I am trying to keep things moving along here, but it is not easy. I took the kids to a new nature center in town, then we went down to the lake and picked up trash. Now we are making our fall cookies and waiting to ice them.

I have no earthly clue how we will get through the next five hours unless my mom calls and wants to walk this afternoon.

I did put a lock on the fridge and the snack cabinet to remind me that I need to stop and think about whether I am hungry or just droopy.

Hello! I am hoping tomorrow will be back to normal over here! I just wanted to pop in though for a quick HELLO! I had to take Madison today to school to get her hair checked by the school nurse, and she said she was clear, so she went back to school today! That is just crazy to me.....I don't think Mattie had a bad case though, and I think I caught it early! Today is still being spent washing bedding and clothes....I don't know if it will ever end! I'm hoping tomorrow to get back to personals, thank you all though for sending me good wishes! Have a great day ladies! ps....I haven't worked out since Friday, I have to get to the gym today, no if ands or BUTTS about it;)

Soon2BFitChick 10-16-2007 07:38 PM

Tina, so sorry you are having to deal with all that. I know how it is. I had 3 foster children who came to me and the caseworker did not tell us til they were here that they were covered with them. There was so much that we had to run to the store and buy some b4 we even took them in the house. My head is itching just thinking about it all! Come to find out, the oldest had missed half the previous school year because the parents wouldn't get it under control. Can you imagine having lice for over a year? It just infuriates me. There were 5 kids under the age of six (I had 3 fo them) and none of them taken care of right. My doctor wanted me to shave the girls' heads. We wouldn't do it. I will not do that to a girl when school is about to start, or ever for that matter. We would sit day after day for about 7 hours each day, with short walk-around breaks, with bright lights removing all the nits and there was soooo much I can't begin to describe it. By the end of the day they were crying so tired of sitting there. But they were missing school, we had to hurry. Even the nurse at school had never seen anything like it. I am soooooo glad you caught hers early (I don't think any parent would have allowed it to get this bad, except those who just don't care, i.e. my kids' parents who eventually did lose custody and my 3 kids along with their 2 baby sisters (who were in another home because I only had 3 spots open, but we visited them often) were adopted by a family in Michigan who had 9 other kids already. Personally I don't see how they can find time to bond with the new ones, but it wasn't my decision. I couldn't adopt the 5 so I'm glad someone did and kept them all together which is rare.

Ok, sorry for the long story. I just know what it's like to have to wash everything over and over and spray and shampoo and clean!! It's crazy. I pray it never happens again to any of mine. Now, if I see them scratch their heads at all, I'm searching for them! LOL. Just wanna catch it quick. :D Yay that you are almost done with it!!! :cp:

I am not finished reading the rest of the posts, just a couple. I'm still at 219. I have one more lb to hit my Halloween goal of 218. Then just working toward my end of challenge goal unless we wanted to end the challenge at Christmas or something. Did you decide Chelle?

Ok, hope everyone had a great day. Oh Rhonda sorry bout ur knees. I hate that. My right one was weird one day but better now. Both of my grandmothers had theirs replaced so I'm scared that's gonna happen to me eventually. Hope you feel better soon.

Dang, I have to go, take care, Selina

fitin2008 10-16-2007 07:51 PM

Yea, I'm ready for a new challenge too. Something real challenging like pulling an airplane or running up and down 20 flights of stairs would be great. (wishful thinking :)).

We really smashed the other team in our airline miles, and the great results showed in our win this week. I took a look at those who lost over the last 4 weeks and with a few exceptions those who lost the most exercised the most and vice-versa. Exercise really is the key :carrot:.
So, what can we do to motivate you non movers :)?
For those of you who don't have the time how about committing to getting up 1 hour early just one day this week. Come on you can do it for just one day.

Lets keep our winning streak going :cheer2:.

GirlyGirlSebas 10-17-2007 07:49 AM

Hi Blues!

I did stay on-plan 100% yesterday, but no workout because of the knee.:( Looks like I still won't be working out today either...the knee kept me up a lot last night. I hate missing my workouts as I'm really worried that my weight loss will stall, but there's not a whole lot I can do about it other than to make sure I stay 100% on-plan.

Hope everyone has a great on-plan day. Go Blue!

Soon2BFitChick 10-17-2007 09:02 AM

Rhonda, there have been days lately when I only got a little over 4000 steps. You are supposed to have over 10k to lose. I want at leasssst 6k a day. But I had to do tons of paperwork for our business and take care of the kids and just had no time to walk. I can tell you I had that one two week stall but otherwise am losing 2-3 a week right now. It'll be ok. You know your body but I bet if you stay on plan more will come off. Big hugs, sorry your knee hurts. Aleve (or naproxen, same thing) helps my wrist when it's really bad. I alternate that and ibuprofen. Ever tried doing that?

Chelle and Fit, we do need a new challenge! Let's think about it and find something cool. :cheer:

Congrats to the Bluezers for winning again!! Woohoo!!! I'm happy to report I'm at Goal for H4H! 218 this morning! Guess I'll make a Christmas goal and do a ticker for that. Oh and today is day 53 OP!!!

Hope you all have a great day. I have ECI coming out for a developmental on one of the babies. Hope he's ok, his little head doesn't stay very steady and not sure why. I'm afraid he has a nerve problem. Guess we'll see what they say. Then I have to make an appt for the other baby. He's on target tho, the doctors agree. So that's good. All foster ones have to have these tho. You wouldn't believe all the ppl these kids see after coming into care. It's good tho. We wanna help them if we can with whatever is found.

Bye for now! Hugs, Selina

Azure 10-17-2007 09:31 AM

Rhonda--I was only checking by quickly and wasn't going to post anything (I've got 15 minutes before I need to be out the door to get to class!), but I saw your post about your knee. My hip has been hurting me (I get hip pain from time to time) and I went to my Cardio Kickboxing class, and had to leave 30 minutes in--the pain was too bad. I went to bed early, got TONS of sleep, and it's better today. I hope your knee starts feeling better soon. I'm going to go to the gym today for weights, so I hope my hip behaves!

Catsgetnhealthy 10-17-2007 11:05 AM

Morning all~
I got in my 3 miles for Abs w/ the belt, I'm feeling so much better!! I'm liking the Core plan, but I'm only on day 3. Takes a lot of planning but I figure once I get use to it, it'll work out for me.

Tina~ so sorry you're having to deal with lice. It's a big PITA from the sounds of it. Glad you caught it early!

Rhonda~ I know about knee pain. Mine right one acts up occasionally. I hurt it one day while working and it's not been the same since.

Selina~ You're an awesome person with such a beautiful soul. Those children are so very lucky to have you touch their lives.

Chellez ~ glad that you're back on track!! You can do this, girl!!!

Onthetee ~ hope you got a good nights sleep. That's something I need to work on, getting more sleep. I average 5 1/2 hrs a night and I know it effects my eating.

Everyone else~ I hope all is well with you. :)

I don't even remember what I put for the Halloween challenge, but will want to revise it to losing 5 lbs by then. :witch:
Well I better get a move on, gotta go run some errands. Have a happy hump day ladies and I'll check in later.

chellez 10-17-2007 11:27 AM

Morning Ladies!

Well I woke up this morning and I'm still on plan for the week! :carrot: We had spice rubbed porkchops last night with mushroom bites and green beans which was 7 points all together. I ended up snacking on some 100 calorie pack chips ahoy crisps before dinner (2pts) and then had a WW ice cream after dinner (2pts). So I ate all of my 26 pts yesterday!

Today's Menu is shaping up like this so far:

B: 1/4 cup of egg whites with 1 whole egg scrambled & 1 cup of milk (5 pts)
L: Smart Ones pasta primavera with 1 cup of yogurt (7 pts)
S: Ritz 100 calorie snack mix (2 pts)
D: Some sort of chicken dish with veggies
D: probably WW ice cream (2 pts)

I also packed a Special K Bar to eat in case I really need it sometime today.

I think I'm having some sort of lethargy issue during the day. I get a full 7 hours of sleep but its like when I get to work I just crash. I said yesterday I was going to start taking my Adaptamax for energy but I forgot. I'm really hoping whatever this phase is that it goes away soon cause its affecting me going to school. Tonight will be the second night in a row I'm not going in because of it. :(

Well it's time for lunch gotta run!

PS: I hopped on the scale this morning and it looks like I've already lost a lot of my gains! Let's hope it stays that way until Saturday!

Tina30 10-17-2007 11:57 AM

:tantrum: I just lost my whole entry! Well not a whole heck of a lot going on with me! I have not been feeling like exercising, which is really weird because normally I crave it! I made myself go for a walk yesterday and this morning! I think with all this going on at home I have just been plain worn out! For dinner tonight I'm grilling country ribs, baked potato, and then some cottage cheese! I still have laundry that I'm trying to catch up on, I don't think it will ever end!:dizzy: That is about all for me, you all have a great day!

Rhonda- I hope your knee starts feeling better soon. My MIL has knee pain, she actually had to have one of her knees replaced, so I know how much pain you must be in! Do you have arthritis? My MIL does, and when she goes into a flare up she is miserable! Now my SIL who also has arthritis has put herself into full remission by exercise and diet! Whatever your case may be though, I hope it feels better soon!

Selina- Lice for a year...OMG I can't even imagine it! I am scratching my head right now just thinking of it! I know there are people out there who don't care about there children, but it's when I hear stories like that I really start to get it, and it makes me furious:mad:! You and your husband really are special people to do what you do! :bravo: on making your H4H goal, your doing so good! Keep it up!

Chellez- YAY....for staying OP and losing most of the gained weight! Are you just worn down, or do you think you need to go to the doctor! I hope this isn't to personal, but could you be pregnant? I know that was one of the first symptoms with all 3 of mine!

Cathy- Great job on the workout...what is an ab belt? A weighted belt you wear while working out?

Onthtee- How are things going with you? Hope all is well!

Azure- How was your visit home?

SoulBliss- How have you been doing? Haven't heard from you in awhile!

Hope all of you are doing well! Have a great day!

PS....I have to say I really like the exercise challange...it has got me to exercise many times when I just didn't feel like it, I am a bit weird though with logging numbers! Since the other teams don't seem interested anymore could we do something just for our team? We really kicked butt though!;)

onthetee 10-17-2007 12:23 PM

I think someone pointed out that when we kick it for the exercise goals, we win for the week. There have a few days when I was just not interested in doing it, but I though, "My girls need my forty minutes to get to South Africa!"

Maybe we need to do one to the moon just for us;-)

GirlyGirlSebas 10-17-2007 12:55 PM

I have to agree with everyone else....I need an exercise challenge. Studies have shown that maintainers keep the weight off by having a daily exercise routine. The only hope we have of getting this weight off and keeping it off is to exercise, exercise, exercise. Any motivation I can get helps me tremendously.

practiceliving 10-17-2007 02:43 PM

I am exercising, I just keep forgetting to post my minutes! Oooops. :D My Hot by Halloween goal is under 190lbs, which is still MAYBE doable but not likely given my recent loss patterns. I'm at 194lbs as of this morning, so I'm just going to shoot for as close to 190 as I can get, and then set another goal.

I like the idea of a Blue Team to the moon challenge, onthetee!!

GirlyGirlSebas 10-17-2007 02:52 PM

Well, I didnt do the moon....but, I did update our Blue Team flight thread. We are headed to Alaska, so dont forget to post your minutes.
