I am not a runner in my heart either. I really just wanted to LOOK like a runner. |

We have expected highs of 88 through Monday. I want to make soup, and bake bread and make an apple pie, but all I can stand to eat when it is this hot is salad and cold sandwiches. |
Hi everybody! I'm trying to type with two kids up under my desk playing hide and seek and one in there asleep (gone almost all day, they didn't get their nap early enough) and one in the toyroom who's a little fussy, plus one still finishing dinner. I'm about ready for bed and it's only 5:55 pm!
Had to run some errands today and couldn't find a place where I knew calories of the food. Finally 20 mins later, found a Taco Bell. Now that's determination!! Was starving and still let it take that long. Passed about 15 places b4 finding that one I knew. Got a spicy chkn taco and pintos and chz and unswt tea. MMMMMmmmm, good. :hun: That totaled 320 cals and 12 grms of fat. Not bad for fast food that filled me up. Wanted Whataburger but couldn't find one! I usually get a Whataburger jr and unswt tea. Total is 320 cals too. Denice, I get like that too. I like soups and stews in winter. At least they have lots of water! I drink lots of hot tea and hot cocoa in winter. They have a good fat free one that's 50 cals. I sip them slowly and they last forever. And in my tea I have swt and low and lime usually. Limes dont have seeds like lemons. Just makes life easier. Chelle, I know what you mean! Chinese food always bloats me up too. I hardly even eat it anymore but I LOVE it. Sorry ur having a bad time with that. I bet u end up going potty all nite! :D Rhonda, woohoo! We are runners! :woops: LOL. My knees are sorta crunching sometimes (not hurting usually but weird) but they say exercise should help. Wonder if it's bad to keep going when u can sorta hear them being creaky? (like during squats?) I just do it bc I know the weight on them is worse than anything. I walk around carrying this all the time. A few months of hard work then the rest of my life with moderate exercise should be better than not doing anything right? Tina, I know! I am a wreck then and basically don't get on my tmill if she's out and around. And I sure don't want her all thru the house when I'm not watching her either! So I guess it's the box of toys that Anna told me about. That works in the car so should work for this too! Have fun having ur family over! And tell the little guy we all said Happy Birthday! LOL. He'll be thinking, "Who??" LOL. :D Aud, sorry you had a bad day yesterday. Hope it gets better for u! Azure, I musta missed ur last post. I have missed you too though! I'm sorry it's crazy for you lately. I read up on Atkins and other info on diets b4 I started, and once read that Atkins is one of the worst ones for longterm loss. Has anyone else seen that? Lots of ppl regain when they go back to normal foods, not just ppl who overeat, just adding back in what was not allowed. My brother lost about 40 lbs and gained lots back later. Now he just runs more and watches how much of everything he eats. He didn't like not having bread at all I think was what he'd said. I don't know what Jillian's is. Need to read up on that. Keep ur chin up. I'm sure you will feel better soon! Practice, thanks for the woohoo! And glad u are feeling better. Maybe I need some of those! LOL :dizzy: Anna, sounds like a good idea! Thanks! She turned 2 in June. I love her! But she does require alot as all toddlers do. Imma use both your ideas! The line to not cross and the basket of toys for only that time. She just might do fine with those! :carrot: Cat, sounds like you enjoyed your walk! I love walking anywhere! Too fun! And pedometers are great! I am probably gonna hit 10,000 today and that'll make it 3 times this week. Isn't it neat to see what you have done that day? Oh! And Mr. Tape Measure says I'm down some more there so that's the best part. Hope I can keep with the momentum. I can't stand getting stuck. :( Have a question... How about once a week or so we post exactly what we ate that day? Might help us see what others are having and still losing. May get some ideas, etc. Saw on an old TBL show that Bob was having them eat some Weight Control oatmeal one morning, some flavored kind. I'm not that into it but I wanna try this one. Said it was like 160 for a small bowl. Sounds good. Let me know what you think! Big hugs, have a great nite. TTY 2mrw!!! Selina |
:o (Sorry my last post was so long.)
And of course, I still want to add something. Just wanted to say that we are still in the 90s with high humidity. You all seem luckier than us right now!!! We like our sports all year, but we LOVE winter too. A break from the heat is nice! :) |

Good morning, Blues,
Had my daily morning visit with the scales, and they went back down a bit! Looks like I just might get a small loss on the scales for Monday's weigh-in. Today, I'm getting my hair trimmed and we have to go shopping for winter clothing for the girls. Its still a bit warm here now, but it won't be for much longer. I know that we will probably eat dinner out. I've already told Hubby that I'd rather he not order appetizers and we need to go somewhere where they have grilled food. Today, my head is in the right spot, so dinner out shouldnt be a problem. Does that make any sense to anyone other than me? I'm hoping to get on the treadmill today, but this might be a rest day...I haven't really decided yet. Hope everyone is having a great on-plan day! I'll check-in again later. :cheer::cheer::cheer: Go Blue! :cheer::cheer::cheer: |
Hey girls.....so I am about finished packing and so ready to get back into the states and have real stores and real food! It wont cost me an arm and a leg to buy fruits and veggies and can actually start planning my meals instead of just eating whatever. I am taking a freebie week cause TOM stopped by and he brought some bad water with him.....well hope you all have a great weekend!

Well, I think I might weigh-in on Monday after all. I posted over in the LC forum that I was switching over my diet to the Fast Oxidizer recommendations in Jillian Michaels' book, but then I looked at the numbers and tried to figure out a few menus for myself and it was EXTREMELY difficult. She says fast oxidizers in her book should eat fattier meats, full fat dairy, etc. but for my calorie intake, I only get 50g of fat...that won't even cover the amount of protein I should be getting in a day (according to her percentage breakdown). I may take Atkins and just tweak it a bit, add in some more veggies, have berries, nuts...I guess technically, that means I'll transition out of Atkins Induction and move on to "Ongoing Weight Loss" where things like berries, nuts and more veggies are encouraged.
I feel kinda foolish for making the statement that I was probably going to completely change the diet I'm following...I'm not going to at this point. ANYway...I'm going to weigh in this week, no matter what the scale says instead of taking my last Freebie. Any loss I have from here on out will benefit the team, even if that means that this week we might take a hit thanks to my gain. :( I'm going to put of weighing until Monday morning to try and give my body as much time as possible to get RID of some of this gained fat. |
Morning Ladies!
Well it's Saturday which would be my normal weigh in day but I slept through the meeting time! :o So I have to look up when the next meeting is which I think is Monday. Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooo much for the advice about the water and tea. I think if there was a water challenge I would have spanked all other teams yesterday. My total water intake just yesterday alone was 2 liters and I had 8 coffee cups full of tea last night. Needless to say I pee'd it out. :p I got on the scale last night and I weighed 197.5 when I got home from work (mind you my scale is way off from WW) and when I woke up this morning I was 192.5 :carrot: Hopefully I can keep this off or maybe drop another pound by Monday. Well I have to get cleaning.... we have company coming over tonight and I can't be having a messy apartment! ;) |
Hi all. It's been awhile for me so I wanted to check in while watching some football.
This week has been pretty off for me. I went over my points by A LOT 3 days in a row, and haven't gotten any exercise in the past 2 weeks. I swear, going out of town for work for 4 days last week totally got me off schedule and I haven't managed to get back on schedule yet. I think not getting any exercise in and cheating on my points has made me feel kinda blah. This whole week I kept telling myself to exercise, but kept finding excuses not to. I'm not too happy with myself, and I'm not expecting any loss this week. Hopefully there will be no gain - I will check Monday at my weigh in. I plan on getting back on track starting tomorrow. I have a lot of house cleaning/organizing to do tomorrow, and I am going to use that as a start to a good week of clean eating and at least 3-4 days of exercise. I think a lot of my problems this past week is I've been going through emotional crap because I have been thinking about some life changes I want to make and it has been eating a lot of my free thinking time. I want to start instituting these changes this weekend but it is so hard for me to find motivation. I think if I get up tomorrow and just start going at it, then it will be a good start for me. I want to lose weight and be healthy and be clean, ogranized and on top of the other parts of my life as much as possible. I know this is rambling, this is the mindset I've been in the past week and I'm still trying to get my thoughts focused and clear. It will come eventually. I hope everyone has a great weekend! |
Hey blue team.....congrats on the win for week 3!!! I was on vacation for this past week...we took our kids to Disney for the first time...and you have given me a couple of hours of reading to do!!! Our trip was wonderful...great weather (hot with a bit of rain each day), not too crowded (can't imagine what the place is like in the summer!!), comfy hotel, great food...which is why I am not stepping on a scale until Monday morning!! I knew that I would probably not stick to my food plan while away in Florida, so if I have gained anything, I am prepared to work extra hard this week. I may need to use a Freebie...I'll know on Monday.

Good morning, Blues
Just stopping in for a minute to say 'Hi." Today is day 7 of being on-plan 100%!:carrot: I cant remember ever going for 7 straight days on-plan. I was going to take yesterday as a day of rest from exercise. However, my neighbor asked me to walk with her, so we walked the neighborhood. It was only for 30 minutes, but we have some major hills so the workout was intense! Today is housecleaning and laundry day for me. I will try to get on the treadmill later. Hope everyone has a great on-plan day. :cheer: Go Blue! :cheer: |
Way to go Rhonda! Doesn't it feel great! I had a party Friday and yesterday and at both there was yummy food....I did have some, but it was totally reasonable and I felt so in control! I just feel good! Today is another party so I'm taking my walk before and not going crazy at the party! I just love the feeling of being healthy and making good choices! Keep it up girl!

Hiya, dh is home so wanna hurry and go spend some time with him since this is our only day in the week even remotely spent together. This coming Tuesday is our 11th anniversary so he's taking off work just for the morning so we can play some Yahtzee and Backgammon (sp?) while the big kids are at school. Sometimes its nice to just zone out and be a kid. Gets tiring being grown up all the time. :faint:
I'm down to 222.0 finally!!! I can change my avatar chick! Yay! :cb: I am going to post now so I don't forget tomorrow. Also, today is day 43 I think. It will be weird to hit 50, then 75, etc. Feels so good to be in control though, like you said Tina. You sound like you really are doing well. And Rhonda, woohoo!!! :cp: 7 days was a nice one to hit for me too. A whole week!! :D I'm down 3.75 inches just in my hips since the end of August. Not too shabby. Still have to go down 3.75 more inches to be where I was at my smallest ever. But that's ok, I'll get there soon enough. About maintaining, I have some idea that you can only go up a few hundred cals per day, from what I've been reading. So maybe when I get to my goal 177 I'll just add 300 cals a day and see how it goes. If I lose ok, but I really want to see how I do maintaining for at least 3 months. Plus I'll want to buy clothes then and wear them awhile! LOL. At this point, my own clothes are just fitting lots better. I have some in the next 2 sizes down anyway, as I'm guessing some of you do too. Why is that? I have at least 4 sizes of clothes in my closet. I'd be embarrassed but it's been that way for me since I was 11 at least. Sad!!! And it really makes me mad. I think my being mad is what is keeping me going lately. I'm tired of this extra weight ruling my every thought. Also, I have very little control over my day since I have the 3 babies right now who are with me 24/7, and they need so much that I can't do much else besides take care of them and my other two kids each day. So I'm controlling the only thing I can, my food. And I'm telling you it feels great. :carrot: Have a great day!!! Selina |
Slipped a bit today....I made snickerdoodles. My heavens, how tasty they were.
I don't cook like most people. If it calls for a cup of all-purpose flour, I use 1/2 of that, 1/4 cup of whole wheat and 1/4 almond meal. Either I cut the sugar by 1/3 or I use half the amount and substitute honey. So really, it is almost like health food.;) Anyway, I am still within my cals for the day, but certainly cookies do not make the best use of them. The extended summer has afforded me some really tasty tomatoes out of the backyard, which led to a big salad for lunch. Off to take a leisurely stroll around the 'hood. |
