really don't care to go through that experience again either.

We'll see what happens tomorrow morning but I'm really starting to think I'm not.

I recently switched from Depo Provera (which I was on for about a year and a half) to the Mirena IUD. It's a 5-year contraceptive with SUPER low-dose of hormones. They work locally, so they're not supposed to have the same impact in the blood stream that the injectable/oral contraceptives have. I know that I feel much less psychotic with the Mirena, for sure! If you don't want to do hormones at all, there's also a Copper T IUD that lasts for 10 years! I think IUDs are great contraceptive options, they're just as effective as the Pill or Depo but without the hassle of remembering to take a pill or get shots 4 times a year.

Anyway, I thought I'd throw that option out there for you. I don't think I'd ever be comfortable with the PO method...it's scary!

As a user of the copper T (Paraguard), I can give it a big thumbs up. The men who should :kickbutt:who made the Dalkon shield have really screwed up the perception of what is acutally NOW a safe option.

I figure this one will get me through the higher fertility years and a second one will take me into menopause!

hi gals, lot'sa baby talk in here huh?! I agree with the others Chellez, gotta find a more reliable method if you're not ready yet! Last I checked, it you go to a place like planned parenthood and tell them you're broke but sexually active they'll GIVE you condoms. Might be worth a try?

So I weighed in yesterday morning and was just below 160! Which is my halloween goal! whoohooo! I was so excited and yet for some reason allowed myself to go out to eat last night and even had a bunch of french fries...geez...whats wrong with me? I seem to sabotage myself everytime i hit this number. Will go grocery shopping tomorrow, buy plenty more healthy food and pre plan food for the next few days so that I can see that number again for weigh in on Monday.

have a great weekend ladies!

by the way, LOVE the travel to the moon exercise idea, you're all awesome. i should have some minutes to contribute this weekend :)

Two things this morning:

1. the test was negative like I thought it would be

2. I lost a pound at my weigh in this morning

Have a great weekend and don't forget to weigh in! ;)

the PP here just went to 35 cents a condom. Can you believe that?!

I do the same thing at 150. If I get a smidge below it, I forget how hard I have worked. (Well, that was easy, I think to myself.) It was so easy that I deserve some kind of reward. How about Indian food? And wine. Start having wine again.

Off to try to do three miles again. It is probably the exact wrong time of day for me, but even if I don't run the whole way, I will walk it.

Lots & Lots of birth control besides the pill chellez . . . really should check out what's best for you & dh . . . I LOVED my IUD and ITA that the bad press from the Dalcon Shield mess has made women wary of a such a good preventative! Condoms were never a realistic option - just didn't happen in my long term relationships with any kind of consistency.:o

Proud to report that I am now "In the Zone" - took 5-6 days of being OP and getting exercise in but got that good ole Atkins WHOOOOOSH and am down to a new low in recent years 213 on the scale yesterday!:carrot:

Back to cleaning :mad:CLUTTER:mad: for the company coming - slumber party tonight - ttyal . . .

Azure 10-20-2007 01:42 PM

Yay, Auddie!!! I'm so glad that you're back in the Zone :) Today's Day 5 for me! Indiscretion last weekend had my weight back up, but it's coming down again, slowly but surely! I'm hoping for a WHOOSH before Monday, or I'll be taking my last Freebie O.O

Weighed in tonight.....have a crazy busy day tomorrow and didn't want to forget later. No change for me this week...sorry not to be able to contribute to our hopeful win. Some bad food choices this week really affected my motivation to move, which lead to more bad choices...funny how that happens. Back on plan tomorrow so that scale will move, but more importantly, so that I will want to move!! The plan....45 minutes to an hour every morning, and at least 3 jogs this week. Less whites starches and more fruits and veggies....sounds easy enough!!
Hope everyone has a great weigh-in!!

Chellez...I'm not going to contribute to the birth control advice...after our fourth child, my dh went and took care of that for us!

onthetee 10-21-2007 09:11 PM

It is small, but I posted a loss. I knew I was going to have some high-sodium food last night and today, so I weighed yesterday.

aud 10-22-2007 03:42 AM

Tx onthetee & azzie!

Didn't make it to the Y to weigh anymore so just gonna post the loss from Friday.

Y Party & then slumber party was a BLAST - but so exhausted! LOL! Cute 4th graders . . . my 21 yr old was a big help - altho' I could barely look at her as she was sporting her new nose ring . . . decided to just grin & bear it - what else is there to do?

NoVaVTFan 10-22-2007 06:51 AM

Hey all - just posted my weight - down 2 pounds! I'm a little wary of my scale this morning because 1) I had TOM last week and 2) I wasn't the best on plan this past week. I have trouble trusting my scale because it is digital and is one of those that you step on 3 times in a row and it gives you 3 different readings. The readings are usually within a pound of each other, so I have been stepping on 3 times and taking the average of the 3. Because I was not OP at all last week (especially this weekend, went to a Halloween party . . bleh bad for eating healthy) I was not expecting to see a loss but I stepped on the scale 4 times this morning and got 148.3 as the average - I'll just have to believe it I guess. But hey, 148.3 is great for me! I haven't seen the 140s in I don't know how long. It's a good way to start Monday when I REALLY don't feel like going to work.

On another note - I GOT ENGAGED LAST NIGHT!!! :D I was totally taken by surprise and haven't been able to stop smiling since it happened. Another good way to start a Monday for sure.

Have a great day!! :dancer:
