Went to bed early last night so I didn't work out. I wish I knew why I didn't sleep, but that was an ongoing issue before the diet.
Hubby went to a card tournament last night, came home at 7 am and brought me the above breakfast. Awwwwwwwwwww Scale showed 230 this morning but I'm sticking with Sat as my log day, so here's hoping it's still there tomorrow!
Today:
B-Muffin in a Minute with peanutbutter
L-Shrimp scampi with broccoli
D-Chicken Cesar Salad
S-Kale chips + 1/2 of a tall Breve Latte
The MIM filled me for hours, nice change from eggs and meat. Had an interview today (met at Starbucks, couldn't resist getting something) That time of month so the salty kale chips really hit the spot. Looking forward to ordering chicken cesar salad tonight.
As for exercise-does cleaning count? lol. Need to start some intentional exercise. Aiming for 80oz of water today.
Food intake for Saturday, 7/18
I am on phase 2, I would think..??? I am past induction.
Anything beyond 20c per day is phase 2/Ongoing Weight Loss as opposed to induction. I just spent 4 weeks in induction and am cautiously increasing to 25c. With my past attempts I spent 3-6mo in induction and never moved on. I'm hoping that if I do things differently, I'll get different results (more permanent results/lifestyle changes)
As for today...
Breakfast: pork roll, 1/4c ricotta and 1/4c raspberries
Lunch: was teaching so I ate my first Quest bar, not bad (only 3g of carbs)
Dinner: Shrimp scampi with broccoli
Snacks: "egg cream" (heavy cream/flavored seltzer)
Cucumber with balsamic vinegar
I drink Lacroix flavored water.. 0 carbs, 0 sugar.. You gave me an idea to add heavy cream to it.. I remember it being called OWL now that you mention it.
Yesterday, went with my father and husband to see Jurassic World for the 3rd time LOL (dad's first). Had to sit through the whole movie listening and smelling dad eat popcorn. Was not a happy camper....
L-pork ribs and broccoli chicken cheese casserole
D - Outback prime rib with grilled lobster tail, house salad, and broccoli
Today:
B- leftover prime rib (how awesome is that LOL)
L- grandmas pork something another and mustard greens cooked southern style - aka bacon grease FTW!
D - taco salad
Eh, I've lost 7 lbs in a month. While not the extreme weight loss I was hoping for, especially starting a LC diet, I'm not going to worry with it anymore. I am starting to see my collar bones, double chin is going away, and I"m wearing capris I couldn't wear 2 months ago. I also got my first, are you losing weight? comment today, so I'm doing something right I guess.
Hubby and I went camping over the weekend and I did really well with my eating, I didn't post my foods but wanted to share that since I started atkins on 3/30/15 I've lost 9 1/4"!!! Non-scale victory
Great job everyone sticking to good eating habits, getting some exercise in and resisting temptations.
Here is today's plan:
Breakfast: 2 egg omelet with feta and chicken
Black coffee, water
Lunch: spinach, cucumber and romaine salad with roasted chicken
Dinner: same as lunch, probably
Exercise: MUST walk. I have been on a very long trip overseas and walked 8 to 10 miles DAILY. I didn't follow Atkins and indulged in a lot of yummy foods, including sweets. Not only that I didn't put weight on but lost 12 lbs. Well, now I am at home, CANNOT eat what I ate on vacation, must stick to Atkins and need to at least walk 3 miles a day.
There is something to be said about exercise (which I HATE), it does help. I LOVE walking though and noticed clothes fitting much better and things getting smaller…. So, walking is the key for my daily exercise. The Fitbit is also a good motivational tool.
God help us all reach our final goals and get (for myself) and/or maintain good health!
FickleHearts-that was me last weekend! Watching Jurassic World with my kids and trying to ignore the smell of the popcorn. Your Outback dinner has me salivating a bit
Skelley-WTG on losing all those inches! I'm going camping with 13 other people in 2weeks, I hope I can do as well as you did
Healthy- 8-10mi per day! Wow! I bet you have some really good shoes I've been thinking of getting a Fitbit. How long have you had it? Do you find it easy to use/reliable?
As for me...I'm in NJ and the "real feel" is over 100 degrees. Went to the beach today with the kids (not sure what I was thinking, the walk back to the car on the burning sand was literally the most painful experience of my life) The heat has killed my appetite.
So far have only had some pork roll, ricotta and raspberries. Need to figure out dinner.
Howdy JSK77,
I was in Europe visiting many countries, enjoying the sights and refusing to use any type of transportation unless really needed……that's where the 8 to 10 miles a day came from.
I bought my fitbit from Costco, the basic one, no heart rate or clock/watch type. I love it: you set the goal in steps/miles per day, it has a series of lights that activate as you reach your personal goal. What I like is the free app where you see your sleep pattern, etc. Super important to measure your stride length for an accurate daily report of reaching your steps/miles goal.
By the way, I have no financial gains or any affiliation with whomever makes it. Just my personal experience!
My hubby has the fancy one and he loves the heart rate. He is super fit, exercises A LOT daily and likes to check his heart rate.
Hope this answers your questions!
I am jealous that you get to go to the beach……love to play in the water but can't be in the sun……so shade is my friend, at the beach!
I am sorry that you got burnt by walking in the hot sand!
Hope you are OK!

Thanks for the response and the review of the Fitbit. I'm the opposite, I have an allergy to the cold (break out in hives). My feet are fine but my poor sister has blisters on hers-eek!
Live on the beach too JSK, but wow it's too hot here to enjoy it. I end up going more in the fall and spring.
I had a Fitbit Force, but they were recalled apparently, so they are sending me a Charge to replace it. Can't wait for it to get here. I loved the Force, but quit wearing it for some reason. I would do absurd things, like marching in place, to hit those 10k steps each day. I think this time I'm not going to push so hard.
B - 6 deviled eggs
L - hot wings
D - parmesan herb chicken with steamed broccoli
DH lost his job so we're back to the drawing board. Need teachers they say, get a degree to teach they say, oh..... Well we only need certain kind of teachers. History isn't important anymore.
