I'm in too. I'd like to lose 20 lbs, my weight this am was 227 so that would be 207. Plan to stay around induction levels of net carbs and hopefully start a regular exercise program (have been seriously slacking in that dept).

It's never too late to join - as we get closer to the date I hope anyone who joins makes the total to lose less or isn't bothered if they don't quite make it to the challenge and if we make it and surpass it it is all the better.

We all have ups and downs that is normal - and the fact that no one gave up because of some slips means you are in it for the duration... Coming here and posting is key especially after bad days .. Like I said it will happen to us all. Just hang in there and keep working at it. We will all get there...

I weigh daily - but I generally count Wednesday as my actual weigh in day. I think we can make any day our weigh in day and New Years Day will be the final number ... How does that sound to everyone...

sarahinparis: I like your motto. It suits me too!

rho: I agree, the success is in the not giving up.

Today I was good, so very good, proud of myself, patting myself on my back good. I was going to have to eat a late lunch due to an appointment and a meeting so I had a tuna packet that was in my desk with a packet of mayo. Then went to MIL's house tonight, dang, chicken noodle soup and sandwiches. I was moderate, but, there really weren't any other options without being rude. She put out soup, sandwiches. So I limited my quantities and tried to get more "soup" than noodle.

I did well yesterday as far as carb count is concerned but I have trouble getting in all my water. So I will work on that today. Still in ketosis (I bought ketostix at Walgreens and test every am). I track food and count my carbs on myfitnesspal, if anyone here also uses that site I'd love to be friends there.
I weigh every day but my 'official' WI is every Sunday so I will update my ticker and post in this thread then.
Goal for today:
Keep carbs at or below 20g
At least 72 ounces of water
Some manner of exercise

Violet - Do share your fav LC chocolate desserts with me. I have been on induction for about 10 or 12 days and will be needing a chocolate fix to curb my mental craving.

Shr1nk - one of my goals was to begin exercising again starting this week. I'm with you - my plan for today is 30 minutes on the treadmill or a DVD. what is your plan? Oh, and congrats on the new plan, I think everyon has to find what is right for them, just like A.Kel said.

bebita - how's induction going for u?

Amb3 - Great plan on exercise. What are you doing today?

Sask - don't beat yourself up. just jump in where you are!

A.Kel - thanks for the encouragement. I was up a pound yesterday and am up another pound today. You have the right attitude. Your old me sounds like my old me. I'm glad we are more forgiving of ourselves I am fighting cheating due to emotions today, because of the 2 pound gain. Instead of eating though I'm goingto plan my meals better and come up with an exercise plan. That should take my mind off eating

carvinmom - great attitude! I like to post food and exercise too, so I can get feedback and hold myself accountable.

rukiddingme and spooky - welcome!

rho1640 - you are so right about posting here on bad days. Today is a really bad day for me. My thinking goes somethign like..."well, I've been OP for the past two days and gained, why not have something I want." Then I come here and realize that is what got us all here in the first place.

Today's Plan -
One decision at a time -
Snack - boiled egg - cheddar cheese stick
Lunch - salad with bacon, tomato, cucumber - with newmans olive oil and vinegar dressing
Snack - 1/2 roma tomato & 2-3 oz grilled chicken
Dinner - salad with bacon, tomato, cheese - newmans dressing & about 4 oz of chicken, or whatever makes me full

30 minutes of exercise DVD or treadmill.

Stuck stuck stuck. It's too soon to call it a plateau but I have been at this long enough that I know the signs.

I joined the 100 crunches a day challenge and I added weights to my walking routine. Today I am going back to the gym to see if I can rev up this tired old metabolism again.

I have been pretty lazy during this weight-loss adventure, relying mostly on my diet to get me where I am. I am getting close to goal now, though, so I figure I have to learn to stick to a maintenance exercise routine or I'll just gain it all back anyway.

Off to the gym!

I have not been exercising the last few days, I fell in my kids room and hit my head, chin and knee real bad. I did not even remember falling either. But my face and knee hurt still so I am just trying to do strength training exercises and eating in induction. I am still under 200 pounds. Can't wait til my clothes start fitting better, I refuse to buy myself anymore new clothes unless they are smaller size then I am currently wearing,LOL. Anyway, just checking in and hope everyone has a great day!

sask: I don't change my ticker when I gain. It makes me fight harder to get back to what I left off. I just DO NOT want to move it up. Makes me mad determined to get back where I was.

Lori: Post all the food u want. Sometimes I do, sometimes i don't.

Today was TOTALLY OP. MMMMHMMMMM! That's the ticket. I'll post the spectacular event!

B: Coffee with cream, 2 fried eggs, 2 pieces fried bologna (big breakfast day)
L: Salad and the top off a big piece of meat lovers pizza (got some eyebrows raised at the work table when I peeled the top off the pizza and plopped it on my salad, but whatever. It was yum), diet soda
Sn: peanuts, diet soda.
Supper: unsweet tea, hamburger salad - um, yum.

That's right, I only had 2 sodas today too. That's a pretty good feat for me!

This has become such a strong support thread lately. Thank all ya'll for making it so. We need each other so very much.

Shr1nk - any chang? how's the workouts going?

Sask - I don't change my ticker unless I'm still up after a week or so

Amb3 - I hope you are ok! I plan on adding strengthing exercises next week too for at least 2 days. MY goal is the same, SMALLER CLOTHES!

A.Kel - that hamburger salad sounds awesome, tell me about the recipe. I like to have taco salad without any tortillas or shell. Is it similar to that?

I DID manage to take those new workout clothes and put them to good use today! 50 minutes with my man, Billy Blanks! Granted I did not complete all the exercises, but I still did not stop moving! Tomorrow night my daughter and I have a date with Bob Harper !

I am hoping with the watching (actually paying attention to) my carbs, making sure I get my water intake, and getting in the exercise now, I will start to see things move again.

I have to say I was extremely fun tonight because my 6 year old and my 19month old jumped in with me and tried some of the exercises. Hilarious!!!

No, no change. So frustrating. I have been working out at home because every time I try to get to the gym something derails me big time. (Friends calling me with a desperate need, school calling me because of a problem with the kids, dog suddenly getting sick and having to go to the vet, yada yada yada.)

I am expecting to see a change soon, I think TOM might be paying a rare visit and that is why I am not losing. If this is the case, when TOM starts I should have a nice whoosh. I am 44, perimenopausal, and on medication which makes periods rare, almost nonexistent, for me. But I do get one once in a while.

I upped my calories a little because I tend to go lower and lower (thinking lower is better, right?) until I go into starvation mode.

I may decide to do JUDDD to finish out the weight loss part of my plan. My metabolism is entirely too comfortable with this low level of calories I have been eating.

down another pound today. did not cheat today despite all the cookies and donuts around for veterans day! stayed strong aand plan on working out in about an hour with the kiddies.

Shrink you might try to do 6 mini meals too. I find that when I need a little jolt tomy metabolism if I try to do a mini meal every 2 1/2 to 3 hours it helps me get y calories in and get my metabolism going again.

lori: love the videos idea. I just had an epiphany, wouldn't it be fun to do the old classic videos just for kicks - make exercise fun and funny! Whoop out some Jane and some Richard!! I bet I can pick them up practically free too! Heck, I'm laughing just thinking about it. Might whoop out my leg warmers. My BFF and I could crack up and get fit!

I make cheese burger salad with hamburger patties (add minced onion, salt and pepper for more of a "white castle" taste). I put the cheese on and let it melt. Plop a patty or two over a salad made of burger toppings - lettuce, pickles, tomato, mayo, mustard, LC ketchup, basically whatever you'd put on the burger, put under the burger. And as always, bacon makes everything better.

Today I was almost on plan. I'll take that. I broke for a half of a fried pie (one of my biggest weaknesses - I was doomed when it was offered to me), and it wasn't even good. ack.

A. Kel - I was smiling just thinking about those old videos! That would be fun and I am certain you could get them cheap! What fun!

Morning everyone! Holding steady at 201 today. Got home later than expected last night with the kids so decided not to work out. Last time I worked out at 7 and had trouble getting to sleep. Last night it was 7:45 before I was even home.

Stayed OP yesterday and hoping to stay OP again today as the weekends are the worst for me. I do a geat job of planning meals for myself during the week, but not so much on sat and sun. Usually running Kids everywhere!

Hope everyone has a great weekend

I said I was starting Atkins again 2 weeks ago, and then didn't. I'm serious this time. I'm in for this challenge!

I gained 5 pounds this month, at 177. I hope it's just water weight. I can not keep eating the way I do. I work at Olive Garden and the food there is half off. It's not even that great, it's just cheap and I get free soup and breadsticks. I've also been snacking on high sugar treats and went to a Chinese buffet 3 days ago. Ugh!

Yesterday I had mixed grill (an Olive Garden dish with steak, chicken and mixed veggies+onions. I substituted the potatoes for broccoli), a big salad with olives, onions, peperoncinis, Italian dressing and mozzarella cheese, lots of coffee with half and half, and 2 burger patties with chili dog sauce, cheese, and a salad. I also ate like 5 french fries and 5 mini sugar-free Reese's peanut butter cups (one serving). The last bit was bad, but it could have been worse.

Today I've had a can of chicken broth and 5 mini sugar-free Reese's cups. I know they're bad to have on Induction, but I've been craving candy and I figured sugar-free was better than the real ones. The bag is empty now so I can move on. I'll probably grab some coffee from work today and maybe a salad to take home, not much time to eat when I work an active job at a restaurant from 3:30-11.
