  • Hi everyone. May I join you? I started I'm on day 4 of Induction and I feel great. Well, occasionally slightly weird (vaguely headachy, a bit spaced out, occasional faint nausea) but I'm not hungry at all and regular 'diets' make me want to chew my own arms off.

    I'm on 2000mg of metformin for insulin resistance/PCOS, so I'm experimenting a bit with that, so it doesn't make me too sick. But so far the weight loss has been awesome on such low carbs. I started Saturday at 178 pounds, and four days later (it's Tuesday here) I'm at 172.5!

    Violet, I'm the same. I've been losing weight on induction and it's great, but I wasn't losing weight when I was eating about 50-60gs a day, so it'll be interesting when I start going up the rungs. Have you had your Vit D levels checked? I felt really washed out and it turned out mine were really low. I hope you can get to see the doc soon.

    I starting to think I have to keep my carbs wicked low. I know I have PCOS, which means I'm probably insulin resistant. The last 2 days I've been under 15 and feeling much better. And losing weight again.

    I'm not on P90x but I am alwaysssssssssssssss hungry these pass few days I don't know why, I can eat and an hour later I am hungry again and I am eating proteins so not sure why.

    That was one of the things I enjoyed most about Atkins...never being hungry! This is a first for me...
  • As soon as I entered this challenge two weeks ago, I hit a small plateau and abruptly went from an average of losing 2.7 pounds a week to losing ZERO pounds a week.

    So, after making up an ambitious challenge ticker and talking the talk, I had to delete my challenge ticker and go back to my old ticker. In the meantime I stayed subscribed; I have been lurking here but not posting because I wasn't making any progress.

    However, last night I got my whoosh! I finally have entered the "Last 15 pounds" territory! So I put my challenge ticker back up. I doubt I'll make 15 pounds by New Years at this point, since I am almost at goal and the last few pounds is notoriously stubborn. But I am at least on my way, so count me back in!

  • Has anyone done a study on season change or time change or even weather change and it's effect of hunger - the last two days I have been HUNGRY I just had bologna with cream cheese just to keep me from diving into carbs. I haven't felt like this Since before I started - in fact usually I'm trying to force myself to eat enough.

    I haven't gone off at all but I have eaten more than normal the past two days ..

    Plus I am freezing! Is it all connected do you think?
  • I haven't noticed a change due to the weather. Mine has simply been that old familiar habit of celebrating with food. My husband is home after an extended business trip and I find myself not wanting to worry about preplanning meals etc. Probably why I'm holding at 198 instead of losing.

    When I start feeling really cold (which I have been lately) it is my clue that my metabolism has slowed down. The real cure for me is weight lifting, which I had planned to start again after New Years, but now I think I will have to get started after Thanksgiving, since I am stalled out. But even just a few minutes of yoga to get the blood circulating, followed by some squats or lunges, will get my leg muscles burning a little. Cures the coldness and starts the calorie burn up again.

    I am dumping water weight, I started my period 3 days ago. I did drink last night, which I know is bad. But it was either a little bourbon or my weight in potato chips and peanut butter!
  • Hi guys, well besides always feeling hungry I am feeling a little disappointed today. My official 2 weeks are not till tomorrow but I weight myself this a.m. and I am down 1 pound since last week and I was even better this week so I had really hoped for a much better result but I figure better down then up so I am going to keep at it but I wish the scale moved alittle more in my favor.

    Just to make you feel better, I gained about 9lbs since starting this challenge. I fell off plan about 2 weeks ago and can't get back on track! I usually make it from the time i get up until about 6pm daily...then i dig into my son's school snacks! I need to regroup, dig down, and get back at it before that 9 turns into 19! You should feel great knowing you're still working at this...the fact remains you're DOWN, right?
  • Thanx hon, yup I figure at least I am down and not up and I don't feel bloated. You can do it too make your self do it at least till 12/31 and then the new year will tell what is to come. Best of luck to you!
  • Just checking in, still at the same weight, so I am going to be stricter with my carbs and drinking more water. Have a great thanksgiving all!
  • I'm getting serious again and I'm going to lower my carbs even more. This weight HAS to come off! My mom is giving me a bunch of leftover turkey so that should help me jump start my weight loss! I've been failing at LC lately, but have to get back on track. I still feel I can reach the 15 pound goal by New Years!
