Well, I did more jogging today, both on the treadmill, and as a few 'intervals' when I was doing laps with the kids. They decided that they wanted to 'walk' with me today and that wasn't enough of a challenge for them, so I jogged to get them moving faster. I am really enjoying this and just hope that my knee and back won't mind me jogging. I truly never thought I would want to jog, but here I am, hanging out for the next time I can do it. I must REALLY be losing the plot!
30 mins on treadmill, 20 mins of laps and 30 mins on the bike.
Personal Goal... 970 - 80 = 890 mins left of April's goal of 1800
Group Total... 4627 + 80 = 4707
Keep up the lifting, walking, stretching, dancing or whatever you are doing everyone!
Oh, was I STIFF this morning from my excursion to the elliptical machine! ::: grin ::: After some stretching this moring, I did my bike for 65 minutes. And, I am doing a faster pace, which is great!
Group Total = 4707 + 65 = 4772
I made it for a whole half an hour on the elliptical. Now, it was at varying speeds and part of that time I wasn't using my arms, but still . . . now I just need to start increasing my endurance on it - try to use the arms all the time, set it to level 2, keep the speed higher, etc. I also did 30 minutes on the treadmill but didn't use the incline today. I think I will try alternating days. So my total is now 495 minutes.
I have to fess up.. I've not exercised since the last time I posted. I got the flu last week and still am not feeling 100%. Plus, well.. I've just been lazy lately. So.. I have nothing to add to the total, but that will be changing!
Nancy - you ARE my elliptical GODDESS!!! A full 30 minutes. What an inspiration!
I drove myself to the gym this morning at 5:30 am. The commute across the Bay Bridge was a piece of cake. I'm looking forward to the day when I can do all my workouts at the gym - it would save me time and GAS on that silly bridge. Perhaps by the summer (price of gas is supposed to go up to more than $3.00 pg again!).
Did my 8 minutes on the elliptical; this time I recorded the distance. And only did 20 min on the treadmill instead of my projected 25 - long story short, I ran out of time. Still when I logged my minutes and distance, I realized I was really booking it on the treadmill - pace went down BY 1.5 minutes! All in all, a successful morning!
So, new group total: 4,947 + 28 = 4975
Wish me luck today - first session with new therapist! :~/

Didn't walk laps with the kids today because we had our Anzac Day ceremony. So... 30 mins on treadmill, 20 mins strength training and 30 mins on the bike.
Personal Goal... 890 - 80 = 810 mins left of April's goal of 1800
Group Total... 4975 + 80 = 5055
Good luck with your session today Maria Lucia. I know how important this is for you and I truly hope that this new therapist is just the right person for you.
Today is my 'rest' day from exercise, but that is really just from the exercise equipment. I am still hoping to get out for a walk with hubby because it is the start of our holidays and it is supposed to be a beautiful day. I don't want to be stuck inside all day!
Zelma - Have you considered some alternate form of exercise for your rest day - like yoga or tai chi? Maybe something non-vigorous that makes your body move differently would add to your fitness in a different way.
Today I got down to the gym late because I was saying goodbye to my assistant (so sad to see her go) and I only got 10 minutes on the treadmill before my personal training session. I asked for help to see if I could get on any of the bikes, and it seems like that is a ways off for me. Either the seats are too small, or my leg hits my belly on the way up. So - I will definitely wait until I get smaller to start the bike. He stayed longer than normal since his other client cancelled due to the holiday, so that session was 45 minutes. That brings my monthly total to 550.
Well we can add another 60 minutes on to my time--Yes, some of you might have noticed that it's my first time here this week and you would be correct. It's also the first time I worked out all week. So much going on. *sigh* The new group total is:'
Nancy - I have never seriously thought of any type of yoga or tai chi etc simply because I am really not that flexible and don't think I could do most of the moves. I still have trouble getting down onto the floor and up again and I can't sit comfortably on the floor. Well... actually I haven't tried it for a while, so I may surprise myself. Most of the problem is with my knee that I have had trouble with for a number of years and damaged a couple of years ago. That was one of the reasons I got the home gym, so I could actually start to add some strength to my body. I have lost more than half my body weight, so am frustrated that I can't move as I would like because I still need to add strength/muscle. I am definitely getting better, so I may look at those types of exercise now. Thanks for the suggestion.
Vicki - Don't be so hard on yourself. At least you worked out! You could have just decided to leave it out totally this week. You did well to fit it in.
Went for a beautiful walk with hubby for an hour this morning. VERY brisk on the way out and brisk on the way back. Funnily enough, we worked out almost half way that we had both been trying to 'keep up' with each other. Somehow we BOTH got a 'weird' view of the other one keeping ahead of us. It was a sunny, fresh morning and we walked along the Swan River. We walked along a different section today, past the resort/casino. It is a beautiful walk and there are quite a few black swans along the way - which the river was named after. We think we may stay at the resort at some time over the holidays. It is a touch of luxury we possibly shouldn't indulge in, but that's what holidays are all about huh? I'd love to spend the evening in a lovely room, go out for dinner (as I'm still learning how to eat 'out' healthily) and go to the casino. Then start the following morning with a lovely walk along the river. Sounds nice.
Personal Goal... 810 - 60 = 750 mins left of April's goal of 1800
Group Total... 5170 + 60 = 5230
I hope you are all looking forward to a wonderful weekend.
