Yesterday I was still pretty worn out, so I just kept my minimum personal fitness commitment and walked for 10 minutes while watching TV. That brings my total to 240. Luckily, I am finally feeling back to normal so I will be back at it in full force today.
But I have started April strong. With the warm weather I have started walking out side on the cities trails. I have not lived here for a full year yet so the trails are all new to me. I grew up in the Manistee National Forest and I really miss nature. These trails are a mix of urban and green spaces winding through the city. One goes along the canal and another goes through a more wooded area. I have walked on two so far but not the whole trail with either. I think this can keep me going for the month. Also they are popular so man people are out enjoying the sunshine and warmer weather.
I say all that to say my goal for April is to do at least 20 minutes every day. I think that will be about 620 minutes for the month. So far I have 20 minutes a day for the 1,2,3,4,and 5 I skipped the 6th, then 30 minutes for the 7 and 50 minutes for today. Making 180 minutes under my belt so far this month!
I just did my 50 minute strength training tape and then did another 15 minutes of dancing around the kitchen. That was fun - I hadn't done that in awhile. That brings my personal total to 305.
Just to add to what Vicki said, I read in "Weight Training for Dummies" that they recommend a 5 minute cardio warmup to get muscles loose before strength training. Too much cardio, and you're tired for weights, as Zelma has noted. Of course, I haven't integrated that into my weight workouts yet... *sigh*
As for me, 30 min today -- walking the dogs and -- DANCING! and some back exercises. We plan to hit the gym tomorrow, so it might be a big day (or not..)
Hi Ladies well..I went to my nutitionist class on Fri..it was interesting to say the least. She put us on a calorie intake thing but its weird how she is doing it. Instead of having us count every calorie we eat, she is having us do it by portion size and breaking it up into the food groups. Like starches,,I can have 9 a day...and fats..and meats and so on..reminds me sort of like the food mover by Richard Simmons. I am starting that on Mon..will let ya know how that goes. Hubby and I are heading to the high country in the morning..it is our Anniversay...sooo..my brother is watching kids are we are takin a little R&R.
I think we've lost some members (that's my sense)...but it looks like those of us who are exercising are doing more -- we 're much higher than we were this time last month!! Keep moving ladies!
Where's Kayley? Valerie, I know you're on the truck, but I hope you're moving too!
I went to the gym and got in 50 min total (weights and cardio).
I'm here...I've been checking in on you guys, I just haven't had much to report. What with being down, having TOM, and my friend dying, I haven't been getting much of a workout in. I got 15 minutes in yesterday, and I may go out for a walk soon...I've been staying on plan, though. I guess that's good.
3557 is the new group total.
Sunday - 30 mins treadmill, 30 min walk along river with hubby (it is lovely to do that isn't it Kayley?), 20 mins strength training and 30 mins on bike.
Monday - 30 mins treadmill, 15 mins laps of oval with kids and 30 mins bike.
Personal Goal... 1250 - 185 = 1065 mins left of March's goal of 1800 mins.
Group Total... 3637 + 185 = 3822
Hope you all had a wonderful, active weekend... well, at least a LITTLE bit active.
