Add 40 mins salsacise + 40 mins walking for me, it was really 60 mins but it wasn't very fast as I had the boys with me! GROUP TOTAL 3637 + 80=3717 MY TOTAL THIS MONTH 180 mins (800 GOAL) xxsharon
Yesterday I meant to exercise and then got swept up in other stuff. It was 10:30 when I realized I hadn't done anything, so I did my 10 minutes of walking in front of the TV to keep my promise to myself. That brings my personal total to 315. Tonight it is back to the gym!
Happy Monday everyone! I've declared Mondays "wind sprint" days. So, I did my regular 60 minutes and did a windsprint at minute 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. I tell you, those last ten minutes were HARD. It was hard - but I loved it!!!!
I walked from my apartment to a confrence I attended down town. It was farther than I anticipated... one hour there and one hour back! so that is 120 minutes for me today.
Man, I am out of shape! It nearly killed me, but I did my 2 mile WATP DVD this morning. That's 30 minutes bringing me to 200 for the month. I am 1/3 of the way to my goal and we're 1/3 of the way through the month so I guess I am on track.
I'm really bad about getting to this thread everyday...I hope that is okay with everyone...
Sat: 2 whole hours(40 mins weights on the universal gym, 80 mins dancing with the girls real cardio and muscle work my legs were SOOOO sore the next day...only counting 80 mins of over two hours so I think that's fair)
Sun: 60 mins (40 mins weights again and 20 mins walking/belly dancing)
Today: 60 mins (all at school between dancing with my kids only counting 30 mins of an hour and 15 mins, and playing in the ball room which means a two year old version of a freestyle soccer/dodge ball/volleyball/chase/tag/run around the room type exercise LOL also only counting 30 mins of over an hour) Still that's kind of slacking for me...I should have done a workout when I got home...
30 mins on treadmill with intervals of 10% incline, 1km/h (0.6mph) increase of speed (4.8mph to 5.4mph) and JOGGING! I have to watch the jogging, but I have been wanting to try it again lately and the chiropractor said that if I take it easy and give it time the muscles around my knee (the one that plays up) should get stronger so I don't ache afterwards. I can 'feel' that knee now, but it is not sore by any means. I do an interval of 1 minute out of every 5. I'm not sure whether I prefer speed intervals or inclines, but they are good for different things, so I just mix them up.
Also did 15 mins of laps with the kids, 20 mins of strength training and 30 mins on the bike.
Personal Goal... 1065 - 95 = 970 mins left of March's goal of 1800
I was in a meeting until after 6:30 and the gym closes at 8:00 so my time was cut short last night. Even so, I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and 25 minutes on the treadmill, bringing my total to 360.
I took myself to the gym for the FIRST time in 2006 and got on the elliptical machine. Is that something or what!?!
I did 8 minutes on the elliptical. My legs were shaking so much afterwards that I was worried I would fall on the machine next to me as I tried to get off. Oh yeah, and I totally forgot to notice the distance which bothers me a little but not too much.
After that I wobbled over to the treadmill to do 22 min on that. I would have done more, but I only had 1/2 hour to work out instead of my normal 1 hour cuz I went on my lunch break. I did all this during my lunch time cuz, just like last week on my designated "elliptical/treadmill days," I was TOO CHICKEN to go to the gym this morning. But the difference between today and last week's Tuesday and Thursday is that today, as I was walking out the door, I said to myself "take your gym bag and go to the gym at lunch. You cannot continue to skip this part of your workout." And, like a good girl I took my gym bag with me to work...the rest is history! LOL
MariaLucia -- good for you for getting on the elliptical! It gets easier!
Zelma -- You're really moving along with a fast pace!
We walked around the city alot today and I'm counting the 40 minutes that my pedometer said are aerobic -- have to be moving continuously for 10 minutes before it will let you count the time. So, 40 minutes for me.
Maria Lucia - Whoo ho!!!! Congrats on getting on that elliptical. As I mentioned before, the first time I got on I could barely last 5 minutes - I thought I was going to pass out. Each time you go now it should get a little easier. Also, now you know there is nothing to be afraid of!
Well, I tried something new today and tried the hill setting on the treadmill. I set it for level 1 and walked at a rate of about 2.5 (was up at 2.6 for awhile but had to bring it back down to keep my heart rate in the right range). It was pretty cool - I liked the variation. I think I will start using that more often. I walked fot 45 minutes and then came home and did 30 minutes of strength training while watching American Idol. That brings my total to 435.
