so i had a bit of an NSV last night :-) i went out to the bar for a few drinks with several friends and I stopped at 3, then danced it off :-) usually i have issues keeping the alcohol intake at a minimum, but i guess now i am too focused on my GW to be drinking too much. the scale dipped even further this morning, but im thinking i might be a bit dehydrated, so im not going to count it. however, if i see 160.0 tomorrow i'm gonna be on cloud 9! way to go girls, we're almost in the 150's! and for those who are a bit higher, you'll be following soon im sure! :-)
WannabeNurse thats awesome!! I Know how hard it can be to skip out on the extra drinks!! Good for you. I miss dancing the night away. Never feels like excercise
kirjava, your meal plan sounds pretty good! I think I'm going to try going lower carb this summer when we move out and can do our own grocery shopping. We're living with my mom right now while we build a house and she's been very accomodating to my diet but I doubt she'd go no carb even for me, lol. But I think I will def have to try those peanut butter cups!
Lilly, it's pretty discouraging I know. But when my weight goes up during the week as long as I stay OP somehow I always have a loss Monday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you I'm sure you'll do great, keep us updated!
Nurse, way to go girl! I know how easy it is to get carried away with drinks when you have a girl's night so great job keeping it to a minimum and it's very exciting that you had a loss this morning! You're so close!
Well this morning the scale was down about 1.5 lbs. Yay! I'm not counting anything for sure until tomorrow's official WI but I'm still excited. I'm hoping to be back down to 162 by next Monday so I'm not moving my ticker just yet.
Afternoon ladies, I wanted to be 165 by the time I leave for Austin (next Friday) and guess what, you were right that I could do it. In fact, I am 165.0 this morning. So excited. I had a bit of a NSV this morning as well. The bf wanted to go to IHop and so we did. BUT I had a veggie omelet (using egg substitute) with a side of fresh fruit for 360 calories. YAY! So much better than my v-day breakfast that had a whopping 1400 calories (my daily allotment) in it. Now that I have hit 165, maybe I can even hit 163 by the time I go to Austin which will be 65 total pounds lost.
Congrats to all you ladies with the losses. For those that aren't seeing the scale move, don't give up! It will move if you stick to it. This is the longest I've ever stuck to a plan and it is definitely paying off.
Wannabe- Congrats on your NSV. I know how hard it is sometimes to just stop after so many drinks. I start getting a buzz and sometimes forget how many I've had. I'll use you as inspiration when I go to Austin next weekend to see friends, because of course hitting 6th street with all the bars is on the agenda.
stargzr - you are doing so awesome. Very excited for you and how quickly you have flown by me. =)
fashinjunkie09 - Congrats on the loss! Even if it doesn't stick you have seen that number which means it is RIGHT THERE.
Fashinjunkie - thanks Im trying to stick with it. Its kinda discouraging, if Im still at 168 tomorrow morning that will be 2 weeks since i've lost anything. But 168 is definitely better than the 187 that I was at in June so I can't give up!
Hehehe pretty soon i'll be the only one in this thread and then Ill really have to kick it up a notch and join you all in the 150s
That's excellent that you could stop at only 3 drinks, nurse!
Congratulations on reaching your mini-goal, mojo! I hope you have a great time in Austin. Also, awesome choices at IHOP! I haven't had to face a trip to a restaurant since I started this journey, and I hope when I do, I'm able to avoid temptation and make responsible choices.
LiLLy, I hope you can dip below 168! It must be so frustrating, but I'm glad you're keeping positive by comparing it to your starting weight!
Kirjava - I go to a restaurant every weekend. We've (the bf and I) cut back drastically since I've started, but it's a part of life so I'm not going to completely give it up or I would fail on weight loss like I have many times before. I just find healthier options. I have found that some of the things I just loved don't taste nearly as good as I once thought. This is probably why my weight loss is so slow, but slow and steady win the race. Haha You've got major will power to have given eating out completely.
Kirjava thanks Im trying........I definitely want to loose at least 20 more pounds by the end of summer, even if I cant make it to my goal weight of 135-140
Hey everyone seems to be doing so well! We'll be out of here soon
AllisonR, to answer your questions, I did not follow her diet plan per se, but I had read her book (Master Your Metabolism) and generally follow her tenets of eating real food, getting in carbs, fats and proteins and avoiding chemical additives/artificial anything. I didn't follow her exact meal plans or anything, but I did lower my calories and worked on making better food choices.
Also, could someone explain your acronyms to me? As a relative newcomer, I am generally clueless on all acronym fronts. Thanks!
It hasn't exactly been by choice, mojo. I live in an isolated community without restaurants, and I just happened to never go out for a meal during Christmas break. I've been lucky to not have those temptations.
Honestly, I don't think I would be doing as well as I am if there were restaurants here, or if groceries were a reasonable price (everything costs at least twice as much as it does in normal stores... some things even four or five times as much). Thank goodness I'm cheap!
Now that I've lived like this, eating well and keeping away from junk food for six months, I feel like I could probably keep myself from going nuts in restaurants. Like you mentioned, I did notice that when I went home for Christmas and had a few things I used to devour on a regular basis, most of them weren't nearly as satisfying as I remembered them to be.
LiLLy, I hope you make your summer goal! Just stick with it and it will come off!
edit: tuende, just last week I had to ask what NSV meant because half of the acronyms here were confusing me! I'll give you a few that I've learned.
NSV - non-scale victory: any success not related directly to lower numbers on the scale
OP - on-plan: sticking to one's particular diet and exercise plan
WI - weigh-in
3FC - just short for the site name
GW - goal weight
HW - highest weight
Tuende – YAY for 161.3! You’re doing awesome and you’ll be outta here in no time!
Fashin – You’re absolutely right, it can’t NOT work!
Kirjava – spinach/chicken burgers sound really good – I’d never thought of adding ingredients to the meat – genius!
Party - thanks!
Lilly – You’ll see 167 again soon, I’m sure of it! And your summer goal sounds reasonable so I’m sure you’ll make it!
Nurse – Awesome NSV! I hope you see 160!!
Mojo – YAY for 165! That omelet sounds pretty good, way to go on choosing! ps – thank you.
I also didn't follow Jillian's eating plan... nor did I read her book. I'd just heard positive things about the 30ds, so I picked it up and did it. My weekend went well and mainly OP, I had a serious eating fit yesterday for some reason.. I'll attribute it to my oncoming TOM. grrr Anyhow, I'm thinking 5 more pounds might do it for me, so we'll see... This week is going to be a little tiring, mandatory O/T at work - AHHH!!
Here's a few more acronyms:
IMO - in my opinion
IMHO - in my humble opinion
TOM - time of the month
TM - treadmill
Thanks ladies for the vote of confidence!!! I DID see 167.8 this morning on the scale!!! Thank God it wasn't another 168.(whatever)
Whew.....now lets see if I can get the scale even lower by next monday. My original short term goal was to see 164 by march, but at this point I seriously doubt I will. Ill re-asses by during next weeks weigh in and still strive for 159 by April. Man that would be incredible!!
mojo, congrats on 165!! And great choice at iHop, I ate there last week and wish I would've made as smart a choice . Oh and have fun in Austin!
Lilly, I'm sure you have a great big woosh coming your way!
kirjava, I know what you mean about eating out! Besides my vacation last week I hadn't eaten out at all. It's a good thing my bf is trying to lose weight and is cheap as well, since he's who I usually go with .
party, I'm sorry you had a rough day, but tomorrow is another day. You can do it!
stargzr, thanks girl! And TOM does that to me too but don't let it get you down. And good luck with working OT this week!
Official WI this morning is 164.8 so down about 1.4! Hoping to be back down to 162 next week, I think I can do it. Thanks for all your support everyone!

I'm glad you finally broke that darn 168 plateau, LiLLy! I hope you can dip well below it by your next weigh-in so you can be sure to never go back.
Oh man... I just ate one of my spinach chicken burgers and it is insanely good. I knew it would be good, but not that good! It's too bad the ingredients I had only yielded 8. If anyone wants, I'll give you my recipe this afternoon.
