I loved the twilight series...but I'm just a book freak in general, so pretty much anything you put in front of me, I'll love. lol

DivineFidelity 12-17-2009 01:48 PM

Oh, and I just switched my Psych class to a child psychology class because I'm going into elementary education, and that's what's required for my degree path. Sounds interesting =D

girlonfire 12-17-2009 03:01 PM

Last Unicorn! I LOVED that movie; haven't seen it in awhile though, I should probably dig through my tapes to find it. And I think I will start the C25K; I have 3 weeks of running before I get to rugby practices. I was just jumping in too soon because I didn't want to be the slowest one. But you know what, by week 3 I will be doing pretty well. And I want to register for a 5K this summer!

And obviously, I am a huuuuge fan of Yoda! :)

HaleyisLove 12-17-2009 03:13 PM

am I the only freak who hasn't seen the Last Unicorn...or never even heard of it for that matter?

Feral- My mom is terrified of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... I sing the song sometimes to freak her out :)... ET was my favorite movie as a kid and I broke the VHS tape because I watched it too many times... as an adult ET totally freaks me

SG- I loved Twilight :) and I really want to read The Lovely Bones... I just found out today on the view that its a movie that just came out... funny bc we were all talking about it and I had no clue it was adapted into a movie

Devine- Child psychology is interesting..depending on which one it is... do you know which one it is or is it just basic child psychology? I have my degree in psych

girlonfire 12-17-2009 03:21 PM

Congrats on getting below the 185 Stella! And I too loved Alice Sebold's books; very dark but still incredibly provocative nonetheless.

stellarosa27 12-17-2009 03:25 PM

I refuse to see the movie after I read the review. Haley, read it first. Its just so wonderful.

And no, you're not a freak for never hearing of the Last Unicorn - it was made in like 1982. Because of it I can't watch Rosemary's Baby b/c Rosemary did the voice of the unicorn, so it kills my childhood.
And Icon, you're right, it did make a lot more sense when I read it, but hey, its childhood :)

Yoda rocks

I cannot wait to get out of here today - its just dragging. And we're supposed to get snow tomorrow night, so after spinning tonight (YAY) I'm going to go food shopping.

CollegeGirl 12-17-2009 03:36 PM

Wow this thread moves fast, I feel like I have missed so much.

Stella Congrats on the loss!! :)

sgregg i have not read the twilight books but I want to over break bc I am hooked after seeing the second movie!! I heard the books are a million times better than the movies anyway.

Today I lost a pound so I got to move my ticker down to 151.0 woot woot! I have two finals tomorrow, one at 8 am and one at 1pm, then I have another on Sat at 8 am and I AM DONE! I can't wait till its over but until then its just study study study over hear..

iwannalose92 12-17-2009 03:55 PM

LOVE the twilight books, the movies are all right, but the books are so much better <3 but i do think a lot of like teen girls get annoying and obsessive about it...as they do with any hit movie/book/band (jonas brothers, harry potter, etc.) I think it's a great series, but thats all it is, a fictional series haha.

Never heard of the last unicorn either?! And yoda is from star wars or star trek right? I haven't seen either of them haha

And thanks ladies, I decided I'm gonna go to FL! Hopefully I can be about 145 or around there, cause thats what I was all summer and I lived in my bikini then ha

DivineFidelity 12-17-2009 05:59 PM

Yoda is star wars...and teenage girls obsess over anything and everything, so that's nothing unusual...lol

Haley, I signed up for TECA 1354...not sure if that means anything to you...but it's the child psych class that people who want to be teachers have to take...thats all I know about it.

Iconised Ghost 12-17-2009 06:01 PM

im doing my masters in psych and i always avoid the child psych courses  most because ours centred around brain development and the neurological stuff which i wasnt particularly interested in or good at >.<

forestroad 12-17-2009 06:02 PM

Hey did somebody in this forum post some kind of oatmeal crisp recipe a while ago? Jennierose or Mary maybe? I think I remember getting one off here and now I can't find it...

Feral 12-17-2009 06:18 PM

Man...Star Wars is the JAMMMMM!!! I'll have to find a picture online of my super awesome track jacket that I have. I LOVE SW and I am an admitted SUPER GEEK!!! :)

http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/stylinonline_2084_1189772386

I have never seen anyone else with my jacket, other than videos of MC Chris with it and I had mine well before I knew who he was. :)

Twilight was okay. I'll admit I got hooked into it and flew through the books (easy reads), but I think she really ruined it with the 4th. Things just kept getting weirder and weirder. Please don't shoot me! *ducks and runs* The movies are complete CRAP in comparison. However Taylor (Jacob) takes my breath away.

Divine
- I'm sure child psych is pretty cool. What little bit we went over in general and developmental psych was very eye opening. Especially when you understand that cognitively there are things children/teenagers absolutely cannot grasp. I remember that when I'm talking to my brats.

College
- Congrats on the loss!!!!

Wanna - Glad to hear you're going to Florida. You were being silly. ;)

So... I kind of messed up tonight. I mean not completely but a little bit. I thought we had some thawed out chicken in the fridge and I was going to make a chicken swiss melt w/ avacado for dinner. I came home, went to the grocery store to make sure I had groceries to make stuff this weekend. Got back home and got ready to cook dinner and all the chicken is FROZEN. My mom made pork chops and rice for dinner. I can eat the pork chop but I can't do the rice. I was so hungry this afternoon (didn't have a snack at work because I was really busy all day) and now I'm ready to eat the house AND the whole pot of rice.

In more POSITIVE news.... I did not eat ANYTHING bad at work... not the Cold Stone chocolate (that sat on my desk all day because it was for my department... granted it was BEHIND me (my desk is U shaped)... not the German coffee cake, not the chocolate and pretzels....

So I can def hold off on some rice. :)

girlonfire 12-17-2009 06:31 PM

I am DEFINITELY not a fan of the Twilight series, mainly because impressionable young girls read them and take it to heart and the female lead is just....ugh. But yes, Jacob is hot. Underage, but hot.

Feral, is it possible to have 1/2 cup of rice with your pork chops and mix it with some steamed vegetables and spices? Or is rice a complete no-no?

Iconised Ghost 12-17-2009 06:34 PM

But at least they are reading. Instead of hanging around Burger King looking like skanks :P

Feral 12-17-2009 06:53 PM

Peachy - no rice for now. The first 2 weeks of SBD is very similiar to Atkins. I ended up doing the pork chop and a huge pile of green beans. :) I feel better now. :)

And I know Taylor is very underage. It makes me feel a little dirty but DANG. Put a bow on an older version of THAT and put it under my Christmas tree!!!!!!

Icon
- very true!!!!
