RadioJane, You're such an inspiration no matter what scale says what to who. I hope you're still proud of yourself. I'm proud of you! And I'm sure everyone else is too. Just keep on Truckin'. Elvis LOOK HOW CLOSE YOU ARE TO ONEDERLAND! How exciting I slightly fell off the wagon the other day and had a burger and fries for dinner, but was right back to 305 two mornings later. Sigh, I need to be 299 by the end of April.

And SnowboundChick: Don't give up! You're doing great, too.

Thank you Sunday. I'm not giving up. It's absolutely baffling to me to be considered inspiring, and definitely humbling. Thank you.

Well, new scale or not, I'm still stalled. I'm hovering between 374.8 and 375.4. Nothing seems to kick my body into gear!

I've been on onederland's doorstep banging on the door and no one is answering!! So hopefully next week I get to open the door and jump in a few feet (pounds!) and get myself well planted in the 190s.

I was really sad this week that I didn't make it but what could I do? Any time I'm on the brink of any type of mini-goal number (whether actual weight or pounds lost), the scale holds back on me. I think I psych myself out and the stress does it. But that's just my excuse for not making it.

You ladies are doing awesome!!

"only 3 pounds" she says

Pick up 3lbs of butter and then say that! 3 pounds is still THREE POUNDS!

I'd rather count the 3lbs as 12 sticks of butter! That's a whole pile of butter!

It's baffling to realize how much some of that weight is. My 30 pound nephew is rock solid heavy. To realize I've lost 3 times that just floors me. In fact, all three of my nephews put together is LESS than what I've lost.

How was I carrying that all around?

I know Jane. I have put 10-10lb bags of potatoes aside in a store and said "how the heck did I carry all that?" And now I'd have to add almost another 3. You and I are doing awesome.

Jane, I am so impressed by your attitude and can do philosophy after the scale episode. But you've done the right thing in realizing that while your current weight is higher than you thought it to be, your starting weight was also 70 pounds higher. Losing over 100 pounds is just awesome. And you look great!

I don't know if this will help or not -- and actually this is for everyone. Since the heart scare episode last month, the doctor has said low sodium. Actually, he's allowing me 2500 mg/day of sodium but prefers it to be 2000 mg. So now I'm counting calories and carbs and sodium and am just thankful that there are apps that do it. BUT, the thing I've noticed since monitoring my sodium is that I'm not having the up and down fluctuations with water gain and loss. Now menopause was 20 years ago so I don't have TOM water weight to deal with any more, but I've been amazed at how mentally it helps to not have those 1-2 pounds upswings because I had something with a lot of sodium in it.

Not for everyone, but it's something to think about if you're like me and any weight gain no matter how minimal can throw my day off!

That is excellent advice betsy. I've noticed a pound fluctuation in my stall lately that I've attributed to (very salty) feta cheese.

Oh, and by the way. Still stalled

I have been loving roasted vegetables lately (who is this person and where is the real elvislover?). I try to make everything with saltfree spices but sometimes you just *NEED* salt (so I tell myself). The only vegetable I can't roast without salt is cabbage, I don't like it as much without it and if I'm going to eat veggies, I want to love them!

I haven't added salt to my food in 8 months except for the cabbage and I swear, my body is like "YUM! SALT! THANKYOU! Let me hold onto this for a week!". Isn't that so weird? And my sodium levels per MFP usually run right around 2000 a day and I always drink 80+/- ounces of water a day. But that sprinkling of salt seems like it's equivalent to a pound of salt. So frustrating!

Do you use regular table salt or sea salt? I've noticed that I bloat a lot less when I'm using sea salt.

It's sea salt I think, one of those small hand grind ones. I think my body just thinks it misses all the salt from pizza, French fries, etc.!!

Probably!

I've never been a big "salt" person, but now I really like salted dark chocolate, feta cheese and salt on certain dishes. I think it's because my taste for salt was sated by all that was hidden inside the crap I ate before.
