Feeling a little sick this morning, so my weigh-in might not be accurate, but it was 243.2 today. Hopefully my body will be nice to me and let me keep the loss tomorrow, ha.
Issaknits: Welcome to the thread! SuperHero: I bet it will come right back off and you'll be leaving us in the next couple days. Your scale just wanted you to spend a little more time with us before you go, that's all...lol. ;) terichelle: As long as it helped you keep on track, that's what matters. Most of us need a break day here and there...glad to have you back, though! Haha. fadedbluejeans: I have been there...just keep trucking, and it will come off! You may also be building muscle from your workouts? Here's hoping for a nice whoosh for you in the near future! :crossed: zoesmom: Hahah, that is great! CONGRATS!!! Can't wait to be able to say the same thing, lol. What a wonderful milestone! :yay: |

I am not even going to bother weighing-in till Friday (official weigh in day) because I am pretty sure I am yo-yoing all over the place !! What's up with that? Drink lots of water if you wanna lose weight :?: BOO !! :( They never told me that I will yo yo with water weight ALL the time !!! Still trying to come to terms with this non-linear weight loss thing!! Not really frustrated anymore, just taking a deep breath & waiting for the whoosh to happen.. whenever it wants to happen!! :^: |
THANKS!!
phoenix - you'll get there! I know you will! And look at you go! Man, you are dropping those pounds! nitrus - I hear ya with that water weight! I hit that last week and it drove me nuts because I was on plan and went up two pounds! Now I am dropping again..have faith, it will happen  |
244.6 this morning...getting closer and closer! :D
|
I've been here, done that, and gonna do it again...
I confess. I had somethin' going last year. I lost 85 pounds, and then took a few vacations, packing 25 BACK ON! Shame on me. I'm back to better, more conscious, eating. It was all fun, but I don't think all that enjoyable eating was as fun as feeling good, and feeling better about myself.
Last go 'round I worked hard to loose 10 pounds a month. I know it can be done. Earlier months easier than the last ones before I petered out. One time I posted about feeling bad about what I had eaten. A reply to that was kind of upsetting to me...that it was just some cookies, a bad day, get over it and move on. It really should be that simple, but it wasn't. I seemed to loose control, and it took a looooong time to get back on track. Guess we are all different in our perceptions of what others are going through. Some can have a cookie. My brain tells me to eat the whole package, and then go find some more! I'm best to stay completely away from all the "dangers". I've had a good couple of days of eating healthy, and I'm feeling good about my efforts. I'm happy to be back to plan. Looks like many of you are doing awesome! Congratulations on your accomplishments! |
weighed-in at 238 this morning..... which means I am officially outta here!!!!
:D:D:D:carrot::carrot::carrot::D:D:D tata sticky 240s.. onto the 230s/220s thread!! see ya'll there sooon!! |
Been back on track for the last week. My little foray into being lazy with my calories the week before, and then ignoring calories completely and munching on and off constantly for almost a whole day, luckily seems to have not done any damage. Weighed in at 244 this morning, so I'm a bit relieved. :D
|
245 on the dot this morning. I might make this my weigh in for the week, since we're going out for Mother's day brunch today, lol.
|
Thanks, opheliaphoenix! Hope you're feeling better!
246 this morning! My cat gave me a weird look while I did a happy dance on the scale. |
I've had a slower week this week, but weigh-in was 242.2 today, so I am still inching closer ever so slightly. Can't wait to move on into the 230's and see if I can kick their butt...they've always been my plateau decade, so I'm eager to see if I can get through these 40's and burn straight through to the 20's! This last pound has been sticky and almost took a week to get off, so here's hoping the scale will give me another whoosh soon. :crossed:
zoesmom: Very close! How're you doing now? 2times2much: Glad to see you back in the game! Also, I agree that it's all about figuring out what works for you and what doesn't. Not everything is cookie cutter on these weight loss journeys. There are definitely some foods out there that I know will trigger a binge effect for me too, so I just avoid them when I can, as well. It's just better for me, and I still have so many other things I can "splurge" on as an alternative if I have a craving to fulfill. nitrus29: You probably won't see this, because you've moved threads, but congrats!! Hope to see you in the next decade soon! terichelle: I love when our bodies are gracious with us and allow us a little wiggle room when we falter...lol. It helps make up for those odd days where things don't move, even when we've been 100% OP! It's an interesting balance. fadedbluejeans: Hope you enjoyed your brunch! :) Issaknits: I am, thank you...and, congrats on the loss! Also, my cat gives me weird looks all the time -- I often wonder what they must think about us sometimes, haha. |
Any move in the right direction is better than a move in the wrong direction, regardless of how tiny! What type of plan/system for WL are you all doing? Has anyone had any luck with vitamins or supplements being any help?

The scale said 244 this morning, but I'm going to wait and see if that number sticks for a while before claiming it. I'm so used to being stuck in the 250's, especially after a nearly month-long plateau - maybe this is my whoosh decade?
opheliaphoenix: Congrats on the loss! I'm pretty sure my cat Izzy is wondering why I'm huffing and puffing while lifting weights in the living room or leaving at odd hours to go to the gym when obviously I should be devoted to making sure that all her demands of lap-naps and behind the ear scritches are met. To make up for the hour that I was gone this afternoon, she's draped over my knees right now. 2times2much: I'm doing a reboot of sorts to get me into the swing of eating healthy. Breakfasts and dinners are my "meh, let's skip it" meals because I'm rushed in the morning and too tired to cook at night. I haven't really been getting a lot of fruits and veggies in, so I decided to juice those two meals instead of just eating lunch. Juicing doesn't take too long and I make the one for breakfast the night before, so all I have to do is grab it out of the fridge and go. This is week 2 of going this route and I'm craving fresh tomatoes and salmon for lunches instead of the junk I used to pick up, so I think retraining my taste buds is working! |
That's GREAT phoenix! You are probably going to hit the 230's before me. I ended up with a bout of an asthma/ARDS flair up that put me in the ER and netted me some predisone. I ALWAYS gain on predisone. Except this time, so far (where is some wood to knock on?!?!?) I haven't lost...but I haven't gained either, so I count that in itself a blessing. I hope you hit the 30's soon...and I hope you breeze through it! Sending elvislover's WOOSH fairy your way!
2times2much - I am on a program my doctor and I came up with that is kind of like a cocktail of various programs, so as to meet my various medical needs and help me lose as safetly and effectively as possible. I relate it very similarly to Ideal Protein...but it isn't the same as IP. None the less, it involves lots of shakes and some real food. It works for me, but it IS hard...oh so very hard. I suggest reading this in regards to supplements and weight loss. Granted, if you are on a diet such as mine, where essential vitamins and minerals are excluding from the foods you consume, it is recommended to take some supplements. I take multi-vitamins, calcium, potassium, and biotin. But truthfully, it isn't to help my weight loss. It is just to get the nutrients my diet denies me. nitrus29 - you likely won't see this...but kudos! Hope to see you soon! faded - how'd brunch go? terichelle - YEAH YOU! I love when that kinda luck happens! Issaknits - I hear ya there. I was in the 250's FOREVER! It seems like the 240's are taking just as long...until I realize that I've only been here two weeks...oppossed to my 9 weeks in the 250's...and I am much lower in the 2 weeks now than I was 2 weeks in on the 250's. Sending elvislover's WOOSH fairy your way too! Today...blegh. Today my mom has invited me to Sonny's BBQ for dinner. Given I hardly EVER see her and she is my only family member outside of my hubby and daughter I get along with, I ALWAYS say yes when she invites me out. But BBQ?!?! Oui....and my husband sometimes is SO clueless. I mean, sometimes I wish I had a girlfriend instead of a husband, so someone could understand where I am coming from. BBQ!!!! It is the diet's worst enemy outside of chocolate! I spent a good hour pouring over the menu and nutritional values and MyFitnessPal trying to figure out what I can have, how it will effect my diet, and what will keep me within all my zones without making me starve. And he says..."Just have a salad." A SALAD!? WHAT! Has he not seen the crap they put on those?!?! And how sometimes, the salad contains MORE calories than other stuff? And almost always more carbs and almost always not enough protein! A SALAD! Sigh. Anyways, it took an hour, but I figured it out. So, I am prepared for tonight. Just wow. A year ago I wouldn't have thought to pour over that information and would have chalked it up to the fact it is BBQ and I have no options. But today, HAHA! I am champ! Take THAT, you dirty calories, you! |
Brunch was lovely and I didn't eat too much, so a good day :).
|
So it's been a couple of days and 244 has decided to stick around instead of just being a weird blip on the scale (my 250's were like that, one day it'd say 251 and then it would go back up to 255 the very next day and stay there forever even though I hadn't changed eating/exercising habits to make it go up), so hello 244!
I'm going out to eat with a bunch of co-workers today. Already checked out the place's menu and I'm pretty sure of what I'm going to get, but if something else catches my eye, I adjusted what I'm going to have for dinner and I'm planning on getting in extra time at the gym tonight to make up for it. zoesmom: BBQ is so hard to resist! I think BBQ sauce runs through people's veins over here with the number of food trucks and sit-down places, especially the ones that crop up during the summer months. There's this one place by my office that has smoked turkey on certain days of the week, and they give so much for a single sandwich that I'll usually half it and then shred the leftovers to make a single-serving soup with veggies and chicken broth for dinner. |
