I had some issues tonight. DH had to go somewhere right after work. That meant that eating dinner was going to be delayed a little. I have to eat on a schedule or things can get really ugly. I have always been like that. I was already hungry between 4 and 5 pm. I think me getting hungry that early had to do with my workout. It was pretty intense. Anyways, I ended up eating some cottage cheese to hold me over until we ate. I made a good choice, but I felt very close to getting out of control. I don't like that feeling. The main reason that I didn't eat anything crazy is because I don't have that stuff in the house or at the shop. That's a good enough reason, right there, for me not to have that stuff around. I am over my calories for the day, but it could have been so much worse.

AKA Hi Sounds like a fun weekend! Or at least parts of it. The boyfriend and shopping sound fun. Math not so much so.

heathermichigan Hi and Welcome to the check-in!

Hey all!

Diana -- Great job on avoiding disaster by just adding in the cottage cheese!!

No exercise all weekend for me meant no check ins...that sucks. Things were not good. I had a big TOM gain from 212.0 up to 216 overnight, and then was so frustrated I made bad choices and yesterday weighed in at 217.8. I think this is pretty much all water retention and sodium, but doing things like that really doesn't help move me towards my goal. Wish I could remember that 'in the moment'.

Anyway, walked today but I'm over on carbs by a mile and over on calories...we had offsite meetings with sandwich lunches followed by a celebratory get together with champagne and munchies...everything was carb-y and fried. More of the same tomorrow...well, no more champagne, but meetings with sandwich lunches for sure.

I'll try to get my exercise in when I get home so that I can get back here to check in! Next year remind me to pick something else for Lent!

Meh, went up a bit more today . I hope this stops soon and goes back down, because watching my weight go up and down like a roller coaster is making me dizzy . I went biking today to slip something big in and did 40 mins. That's more then I ever have before. So, something must be working on my stamina I guess that's a plus for today.

Wow! I'm down another .8 today I've been drinking so much water it's like i"ve been swimming in it and even though I HATE veggies, I've been munching on carrots and cucumbers, trying to convince myself I like them. That's what I did with salads years ago, just kept eating them until now I really do enjoy them

Diana congrats on staying in control when things got crazy last night! It's good you haven't got a bunch of crap in the cupboards-makes it easier for sure! I'm still having a hard time getting my house clear of hazards my 16 yr. old is tiny and active, she loves having a bag of chocolates in her room which she only touches once a month... so if I want to be bad I know I can hit her stash

Angie well I guess onederland in March was a bit of a stretch for us but we just have to keep going and we'll get there eventually!

Onami yay on your new low!!

suzuki My youngest is turning one in April and is already walking and loves going outside. I'm glad I can enjoy chasing him with some of this weight off! Summer with our kids is going to be fantastic!

Mags you just described the weather here perfectly...you live in the Northeast too? TOM sucks... it'll come off

heathermi and incredible shrinking

jinxy you'll have your whoosh! I'm believing for you!

kukkie I think it's wonderful that you've incorporated your fasting with trying to still lose weight. In my religion we don't have specific times for fasting but we do believe in doing it individually on a regular basis. It's hard for me when I'm trying to lose weight because a typical fast for me is, only water for 24, 48, or 72 hrs.... then I want to binge. Since fasting is on a personal level for me, I have dedicated my "diet" to the Lord and hopefully i can get back to full fasting in the future without wreaking havoc on myself.

justaloozer I had to adjust my goal for this month too. I suppose things come up and we have to be flexible with life. Good luck on the 4 lbs this week!

hello to everyone I missed! Have a great productive day!

Good morning!!!!

I hit a new low this morning!!! 190.1 I know it's from the fasting, and I'll likely have a bounce back at the end of the week when I start incorporating normal foods again, but it's nice to know it's attainable, so I'm holding on to that for now! Yippee!!!!

On another note, I've ranted about my job situation to you gals before, but I'm happy to report that I accepted a new job offer yesterday, and resigned my current position as well. I've got 8 days left, since next weekend is a long weekend. I start the new job right away since they had no issues with my pre-planned two week vacation in May. It's a great company, great people (so far), really good money, and a heck of a lot closer to home! What more could I ask for?!

Had to share, but I'll come back in a bit for personals.

Congrats on the cottage cheese Diana and dont worry about ttom! It will be gone soon and will pack it's extra baggage with it!

Angie I hear ya! I need to remember those things in the moment too.

QT and Kukkie wtg on the weight loss!

Good Morning All!
I had an awful day yesterday. It was one of those days where you know it'll be awful as soon as you wake up. I gave into the bottomless pit as you call it Diana! I ate a lot. I woke up today dreading the scales, I didn't even want to check. I was going to be sneaky and just not weigh in at all and not post on here. So bold! But to my shock and amazement I was down .6lbs! I couldn't believe it, I thought for sure I'd be up a good bit. I'd like to think it's my body's way of telling me to keep going. I felt so down yesterday, like losing all the weight felt like mount Everest! But today I feel a little more hopeful!
I also think this whole thing was TOM secretly playing with my hormones/emotions!!

Kukkie84: Congrats on the new job!

Kelly: I do! I live in Maine. The weather is disivingly nice looking today but it's only 40 today. It was 80 last week, I miss it!

justaloozer: I totally had that day yesterday! It can be some overwhelming sometimes!! But I feel better about it today and you will too

March:

Had a great weigh in this am! Lost 1.4 pounds from yesterday! I am definitely getting back into my 2010 mindset and it feels great! About to go running now just for 15-20 minutes, then will do another 2 miles tonight.

Diana: You are so strong to be able to choose snacks like cottage cheese when you get hungry. I'm like you, when I'm hungry and can't eat when I'm supposed to, it gets ugly quick!

Angie: Hello! So good to see the same names upon my return! Shrug off the gain and once the crazy work functions settle down, you'll get back into it in no time!

Kelly: I see you went to GA for a few days Love it!

kukkie: Congrats on the new low and the new job!! That's a lot of good news in one post!

suzukigirl: you are really inspirational!!! 44.5 pounds down in 2012 already? That's incredible!

Aw JustaLoozer, fight off those negative thoughts You're doing great, weight moving.. time flies really fast Look at how much I had to lose I fought hard not to think about how far I had to go cause if i did, I'd get depressed then I'd read Motivational things, pray and lean on the Lord for strength to make it.
Some days were better than others but I started building a mindset of treating each morning that i wake up as if "Today is the First day that I decided to change my way of eating".With the mindset of as if I just started this Journey and still do to this day I don't think I could make it if i didn't really. When you really start to see all your hard work paying off that will help your state of mind about all this too.You will get there

Mags, great job on the .6 Keep Hope Alive

akelly, great job on the 1.4 enjoy your run

After finding out who's teaching Zumba and Spin tonight at the gym, won't be going..don't like how they teach...sigh..guess I'll head to the track.

Angie Sorry about the struggles. Didn't you mention one time that you were going to a nutrition Dr or someone like that? I haven't heard you mention this recently.

Jinxy Great job on the bike ride!

Qt Congrats on the .8 and for sticking with the veggies!

Kukkie Congrats on the new low and the new job!

Justaloozer Great job on the 1.2 pounds! Try not to look at the big picture. It can be overwhelming. I have been there, I totally understand (I was almost 400 lbs. at one time). Just take it one day at a time. Hopefully this is a lifestyle change for you. Every day you will be getting closer to your goal. Make the best choices that you can make each and every day.

Suzukigurl Great job on hitting the gym!

Ona Great job on holding strong!

Mags The bottomless pit feeling is bad! I'm glad you are feeling better today. Hang in there.

Akelly Congrats on the 1.4 pounds! That was a scary feeling yesterday. I think it also had to do with TTOM. It does all kinds of crazy stuff to us!

Rennie I missed you! What have you been up to? How are things going with Chelle?
