Hey everyone! I'm new here, I've been in the 170's for a couple weeks now. I weighed in at like 177.4 this morning.
I'm soooooooo afraid of plateauing in the 170's. I know that on my way up I was here for a longggg time, probably like 1 1/2 years. I don't know if it was like a "weight gain plateau" or something lol, but this seems like the roughest time.
I'm on caloriecount.com and for the March challenge I pledged to get down to 175 by the end of the month, and while it seems like it would be possible I'm beyond nervous that once again I won't make my goal.
Haha, sorry....rant. Anyway, I'll be here in the 170's with you guys for a little while
Today was my official day to weigh in and I'm at 170.6 pounds :O I might be leaving you guys next week. And Calmeida, I might have to try that Chobani greek yogurt sounds like a good idea
ashori602 - it's good to see someone going over to 160... there's a lot of support over there. good luck and be sure to celebrate

Frustrating, but will keep on trying. Something has to give at some point...
calmeida5018 I sip water all day so i really don't track it. sorry i can't be a help there. i feel your frustration on the scale plateau. it's probably because you are gaining muscle while losing fat. muscle weighs more than fat too so if the inches are going down but the scale isn't thats a good sign that you are making some awesome muscles. eventually those muscles will help you burn more calories and the scale will start to move again. believe in those lost inches!

ashNstuff- welcome to the group. i am also the type to have the fear of failure response to weight loss. you just have to believe you can do this. i'm also doing the calorie counting but I use myfitnesspal. it really helps me and it was the missing link to all the failed efforts to lose weight in the past. you can do it.

Thank you very much I do believe that I can do this, but I am getting too excited about seeing my goal weight so I'm kind of like, "Come on, hurry up!" lol I know I should be more patient and realize that it will come someday as long as I keep going.
I do feel like calorie counting was the biggest missing piece to my weight loss efforts in the past, I never even thought about trying it
Anyway, thanks for the welcome I wish you luck on your journey out of the 170's

Ash - you are doing so well already! i just now looked at your starting stats and you have come so far. You are doing an amazing job!
I'm finally here and I feel like hitting the 170s had some special connection mentally, I've just been 180/90 something even 200 something last year I just never felt like I could be 170 something, because I was overweight as a teen and child I thought this was it.
I'm halfway through my 170s now...which, sadly, is the lowest I've been at my current height. I can't wait to kiss that 7 goodbye like I did the 8 about 2 1/2 weeks ago...
I know there hasn't been much activity on this thread lately but I'd like to see if we can revive it. I love these decade threads - they help keep me motivated!!
So, I'm 179 today. Anyone else out there new to the 170s or that has been trying to zoom through them for a while?
