Hey Everyone!

Jayne, I'm not familiar with that one! I'm not sure what to call BRx. High protein, high fiber, low sugar, low bad fat, high good fats...

Jamie, definitely go easy on your shoulder. It doesn't seem to take much to make mine start to get worse again. I really think I need to go back to a doctor about my tendonitis. I can't figure why it hurts so bad sometimes-like yesterday. Despite what the doctors say, I keep thinking there may be more going on besides the tendonitis.

Yesterday after work, I went to Waldenbooks and ended up having a conversation with the sales girl when she saw I was looking at muscle mags. It turns out has been trying to find a class like the one I want to start at Gold's! she mentioned it before I said I wastrying to start one! A few more details are in my journal. It seems like a good sign that I'm on the rigfht track! Talk about making my day!

I am probably going to dump fruit any minute. Right now I'm having strawberries & blackberries on my cottage cheese when I work & an apple, usually on my way home from work since meal time tends to arrive a few minutes before I get home. I may keep the apples for that reason, but the berries are going. I think I may have enough for one more day. My weight fluctuates so much it's hard to tell what's going on. I never know if a gain is TOM related since I never know if/when it's going to visit me anymore. We'll see how things go next week. I was down 2.5 lbs. this week but today I'm back where I started a week ago.

I hope you all have a great Sunday-have some fun for me! I'm going to be doing inventory until late tonight. I really don't think it will be too bad-just a long day.

Deb

Default Hello Girls!

I spent this am in bed watching "Mall Rats" on tv. LOL Was so nice to just lie there and giggle! I would make SUCH a great kept woman...'sigh'

No dress buying until I get DOWN, DOWN, DOWN in body size. I know there are plenty of dresses to be bought off the rack and I worked in a bridal shop for awhile during school so I know there are rushes available too. But going to Chicago and meeting would be GREAT! We often get cheap flights from here, so its like 1/2hr and bam, you're there! Plus the weather is getting nice now and spring in the city is usually pretty pleasant.

Looked at flower catalogs yesterday, I think that having a nice garden and some plants would be a good way of burning a few more calories while growing some good, unpesticided vegetables and having some glorious flowers to enjoy to boot. (yes I watched the Barefoot Contessa yesterday and she always picks flowers from her garden for her meals)

Deb, your 2.5 is only water probably. I haven't gotten on the scale since Friday am and I'm not going to until I'm done w/TOM. I'm hoping I'll lose that 7lbs I gained in like 3 days.

Going to make use of the Bowflex today, I may not get a workout in tomorrow because tomorrow the murder case that I've been working on for the past 18 months will finally come to a verdict. It was a bench trial and tomorrow the judge will announce his verdict in open court. It was a tragic matter, and if you want to read about it, it'll no doubt be written up here sometime tomorrow again: http://www.press-citizen.com/news/. CourtTv is going to show the trial sometime this spring and 48hs is after a story as well. Ya know, the press really IS annoying..and I'm only a peon in all this! (ok I do all the work, get no glory or money of course. hahaha!) So I dunno what will happen, we're hoping for an acquittal naturally.....if you get a chance to read about it, you'll see why I think.

Anyway I hope y'all enjoy your Sunday, eat well, rest and relax!

Talking hmmm

See what happens when I take a weekend to relax? I miss out on all the action!

Ilene I am tired EVERY morning. Whenever I try and do my workout in the morning – it never happens. What type of red wine do you like? I love Merlots and the sweet chilled one – which I think is Tarragon??

Mindi Congratulations on getting married! My hubby and I eloped 5 years ago and one of the multiple reasons I did it was out of fear – that I would look fat on my wedding day (which I did). Sometimes I regret it but most times I don’t. We are planning on renewing our vows eventually probably for our 10 year anniversary or something and then I can have the big white wedding. Now you have extra reasons to work hard!

By the way I eat popcorn but usually on free days because I love butter and salt.

Sandy Food is where MOST of our issues lie. You are not alone girl! General staples? Oatmeal, rice, frozen vegetables, cottage cheese, yogurt, fruit, chicken, beef. All the basic stuff. Try and stay away from processed food and that is more than just junk food even what is normally considered ok. As for supplements I only take flaxseed oil, glutamine and glucosamine.

Jamie I can relate to how you feel – my husband is a hard gainer and he finds it very frustrating.

Meg Oh my hubby isn’t like that – he would NEVER push food away. He just opens his mouth and inhales and everything disappears. And he can’t eat ANYTHING in any quantity and not put on weight. Actually before he plays soccer if he doesn’t eat at least 2 bananas he can’t get through the game without getting dizzy. His metabolism is super-fast.

As for auditing – well it is a branch of accounting. My whole course is accounting.

Zilla Hi Erik!!

Leigh I don’t think it was anyone’s intention to ignore you – it is just that this is a very busy board and it’s hard to keep up with everyone. As for deleting your posts well that is your choice.

Amy What are you doing for the accounting firm?

Meow I have a 4-day split in my journal if you want to check it out. I would definitely CHANGE your lifting – it will give your body a new challenge and you won’t regret it.

Mel That description of your childhood makes me mad. I can’t understand parents who tell their children that they are fat – what are they thinking? I have a similar problem – the more I get the more I want. As for freeday – I ate enough caramel to sink a ship! Oh and a kebab and some mashies. I want a veggie garden!!!

Mox Muriel’s wedding is so funny and an icon over here. But actually we aren’t as stupid as the people in that movie!

My exam ewww it was awful. But it’s over now! Yippee!!

Deb Yes I was over at LCFs BFL forum. That’s why I asked! I think that there is some merit in low carbing and have been experimenting with it lately. By the way that IS the stepmill.

Beth How do you know if glutamine is working? You won’t be so sore that you can’t walk.

Adriana Sorry to hear about your migraines.

Tidey I used to send care packages to my husband when he was at sea. I always put in loads of food but also magazines etc.

Jayne Well I finished all my cooking last night and boy did it smell good. I hid that caramel in the back of the freezer so I forget about it until free day. WE will not cheat this week!! I just realized this morning that daylight savings is nearly over. Which way are we meant to go again?

Well except for my exam my weekend was cool. I spent Saturday afternoon just pottering around the house and then went to my neighbours for dinner. I slept in on Sunday and then Jayne came over and we worked out our menus for this week and then headed over to her place whilst hubby played soccer. I watched videos and infomercials whilst Jayne did her cooking and then hubby picked me up and I did my own cooking. I had an early night and woke up refreshed this morning for the first time in weeks! I am all set and prepared for a great week and soccer training starts this week so that should be good. Cardio from ****!

Hi to all of those that I didn’t address directly and I hope that you guys are having great weekends!

Hi Lanaii1
I am looking for new, different workout. Can you give me some idea what the Hugo’s Mass Blast Leg workout is all about? Does anyone else have workout ideas? Currently I lift weights, weekends only. My son and I work out at a powerlifting gym. Mon, Wed and Sat. my son and I go to karate class about 3 hours per class. Some times very tough, sometimes very light. I also walk for about an hour each night. No more than a mile or 2. It is a very slow pace, just to get out. What I am looking for is a good fast work out either cardio or weights or both. My job is very intense from June to Aug. and slow the rest of the year. I am away from home most of that time, so I need something I can carry with me.

Thanks in Advance
Tom

Tom,

My favourite cardio workout is sprints. Go all out for a minute and then walk for a minute, then repeat for 6-8 times. Nothing like a good set of sprints to get the heart pumping.

Morning everyone! Just saying a quick happy MOANday before I head out to the office.

Speaking of popcorn, I had some yesterday so I consider that a free snack if you will, it was good too! enjoyed it w/real butter and salt.

Tom, since you enjoy karate, you may also enjoy Taebo as your carido, the eight minute workout videos offer a pretty intense cardio event, although w/warmup and cool down, they're really about 16minutes. Or if you want a longer, sustained workout, do part of an advanced video. They're 1hr long and you could break them up into 2 workouts, and most of them can be pretty intense. Its the only kind of cardio I can tolerate at all!

I must get cracking, a big morning ahead! See you all later and have a good start to your day and don't eat anything green that you don't recognize. LOL

JC - Job: I am a glorifed word processor at our accouting firm. The auditing teams from offices around our state give us the reports in rough draft form and we polish them up, check spelling, grammer, etc. We are starting to see the effects of the "Enron/Arthur Anderson" debacle in that we have a lot of new "regulations" we have to deal with for processing. Good luck with all your classes - I have a slight idea of what you are doing and it takes a LOT of brain energy to process what you are learning.

Tom - What type of karate are you doing?

Lana, I tried your shake recipe and it is yummy. Fresh stawberries in the stores now are so tasty.
