Day 1 of Round 2: from FAT to FAB (food diary) August 31, 2009

Ok, I know I’m late w/ posting but one of my besties came over and threw ya girl off her new blogging schedule. (will try to do better tomorrow, technically later today, but whatev….) Sooooo, Sunday (8/30/09) went a lil something like this!

Breakfast (around 10:00 a.m.-ish)

Cup of Mandarin Oranges
30 oz of H2O (yaay! only 34 more ounces to go…@ least)

Lunch/Dinner (around 3:00 p.m.)
4 Oven-Baked BBQ Chicken Wings
1 Bowl of Field Peas
1 Medium-sized Slice of Cornbread (Jiffy!!!!)
20 oz of Coca-Cola
followed directly by…
20 oz of H2O (what, what! 14 ounces to go, yall!)

Snack (around 9:45pm <—yiiikes! I MUST do better!)

Mini-Bag of Popcorn - Movie Theatre Butter (hey it’s my first day, give me this slip-up!)
20 oz of H2O (pooow! I got a little over my minimum 8 glasses in by getting in 70 ounces baby!**)

ok, that’s EVERY single thing I had on my first day. I’m gonna try to go get a few hrs of sleep now before my 7 a.m. alarm rings….blah!

**note = the reason I’m SO excited about the WATER intake is b/c I detest it w/ a passion outta this world! I’ve been known to go DAYS w/o drinking one ounce of water peeps. So, lemme celebrate my small victories…thank you! :)

  • Status: Fatabulous (although morbidly so…)
  • Height: 5′8ish/5′9
  • Current Weight: ummm o_O yeah… (MAJOR side-eye I’m giving)
  • Goal Weight: 160 lbs or whatever weight I need to fit a Size 14
  • Current BMI: o_O once again… (MAJOR side-eye again…pow!)
  • Ultimate Goal BMI: Under 25 is Healthy
  • Lifelong Goal: Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle & Weight
  • Diet Plans: just making small changes, leading up to a calorie counting system/routine - PORTION CONTROL - half my weight in water (no less than 64 oz WATER) - cut out Sodas & Fast Food - minimize junk food intake & substitute fruit instead - some form of exercise/physical activity DAILY!!!!

From Fatabulous to & Fiercely Thick (Round 2) August 30, 2009

Hey world!!!!!

Guess who’s, guess who’s, guess who’s back!?!?!?!

Yep…..I’m back again for Round 2. I lost the first bout, but I REFUSE to give up the fight! So, here’s to dusting myself off and trying again. (sorry, still having an Aaliyah moment…RIP sista!) Okay, Fat Smash ain’t for everybody and it definitely AIN’T for me! (Yes, I know how to & can use correct grammar when I feel like it, but this AIN’T one of those times, so moving right along…*cheese*)  This blog will be about my journey to weight loss, or the good, the bad, and the ugly; as people like to say. I am going to plan to blog @ least one entry each day. Even if I only do a “food diary” entry to take accountability for everything I put into this mouth of mine. I know it’s going to be a struggle everday, but I REFUSE to LOSE, unless it’s in the form of POUNDS baby! So, BIG UPS to my fellow 3FC fam and I look forward to joining you in this weight loss battle of the bulge! LET’S GOOO!

It’s A New Day…. May 18, 2009

So, I haven’t wrote again since the other day (Day 3 of my first detox/fast) b/c I got really weak and felt HORRIBLE. I had shakes, terrible headache, and was so weak I couldn’t do anything but lay on the couch where I had sat down. Therefore, I missed about 3 meals b/c I had NO energy to even attempt to cook something for myself. I ended up having my sister go out and get me something. So, I fell off and decided to step back and go a bit slower. See, I went from eating whatever I wanted and having @ least 3 or 4, sometimes 5, Cokes or Sodas each day. This is the main reason I felt SO bad. My body had to get used to not consuming the daily caffeine intake that it was accustomed to. Therefore, I took the rest of the week to get used to the fact that I was off caffeine and slowly going to a WATER-ONLY intake. I did have Lemonade and Grape Juice, but I made sure to drink at least 7 or more glasses of water each day. All that being said, here were are w/ me trying this FS Diet again w/ Phase I. So here goes…

Breakfast

1 Banana

1 Small Apple

20 oz. Bottle of Water

4 TSP of Strawberry YoPlait Yogurt (okay, I don’t like yogurt, but thought I’d at least give it a try. Well, I did but I still don’t like it, so…..yogurt is FOREVER off the menu! lol)

Lunch

1 Medium Orange

Corn (cooked a can and ate until full)

20 oz. of Water (40 ounces down = @ least 24 more ounces to go b4 bedtime!)

 

I’ll be back later w/ what I’m going to have for Dinner….still not sure. Think I’ll go check out some other FSer’s posts for ideas. Gotta figure this one out. No idea what I’m going to have. Maybe some Collard Greens w/o my lovely cornbread…sniff sniff :((

Starting out…Day #3 of Fast May 13, 2009

So I went to bed around 2 a.m. but for some reason woke up @ 7 a.m. and couldn’t fall back to sleep. So decided I would take advantage and maybe try out this whole 4-5 meals a day routine which starts for me on Friday. So here goes…

7:00a.m. (Breakfast?) = 16 Seedless Grapes, 1 Medium Orange, and 20 oz. of Bottled Water

So let’s see…I’m going to try to eat again @ 10:00 a.m. and have @ least another 20 oz. of Bottled Water. Haven’t decided what I’m going to eat, so I’ll be back once I am done w/ my “Heavy Snack” of the day.

 

Women’s Day Fast 2009 (leading up to Fat Smash Diet)

Hey World!

I am a little new to this whole Diet Blogging. Please bear with me as I try my best. (thanks in advance! ) Okay so the reason I signed up for this is I needed to keep some kind of journal notations during this process. I have tried a few fad diets in my life, but nothing has ever worked for me. So, I came across Dr. Ian’s Fat Smash Diet through my bestie. She went on it a few months back and I could see the results of the diet working. Still, I wasn’t @ a point in my life where I was focused enough to try and make this lifestyle change yet. Fast forward to Late March/Early April of this year when I came across an article on Essence Magazine’s website. There was a lady by the name of Tamara Harbison who lost 125 lbs in 9 months! I was like “WHAT?!?! HOW?!?” So I continued reading and learned it was through none other than Dr. Ian’s Fat Smash Diet program! That was all I needed to know that I WOULD give this diet a go. So, after a couple more weeks, I wasn’t having any luck with finding a job. I thought, hmmm, maybe I should try to start the diet now while I don’t have anything to do. Then, last week, my mom came home and mentioned this Women’s Day Fast that they wanted all the women in the church to do. I read the paper and thought this was the perfect opportunity to start Phase I of the FSD, which is the 9-Day Detox. Since the Fast is sort of slowing weaning you off foods so that you’ll be down to only fruits and veggies by Friday, it would be perfect. So in my next few posts, I’ll start from Monday until now. And, going forward, I’ll try to make sure I post daily. Feel free to follow me on my journey. I know it’s not going to be easy, but I am DETERMINED and FOCUSED! Let’s Get It!
