I, like many consumers, rushed out to purchase the new EA Active game for the Wii. After reading many reviews and hearing personal accounts, I thought this fitness game, would be the next great fitness workout to be released via the Wii platform. Boy, was I wrong. If you are looking for an intense cardio workout, you will not find it with the EA Active program.
All that EA accomplished by the release of this game, is what EA is notorious for…sheer disappoint amongst hardcore gamers and those wishing to get in a great workout. Don’t get me wrong, it is a lot of fun to play with your children or friends. But the benefits are unclear. I managed to soak up an hour of playing and never broke a sweat. The game, constantly pauses to reset exercises and there is nothing new or revolutionary about the interface, graphics or the games. Essentially, you are paying for a glorified version of the low impact Wii Fit with the ability to customize your workouts, which in my gaming eyes, is not worth the sixty dollars consumers are paying.
If you are looking for that intense, heart pumping cardio workout, my advice is to stick with the My Fitness Coach program and save yourself an extra sixty bucks.
