GourmetGirl - I try and make it to the gym at least 5-6 times a week and use the elliptical. I haven't done any strength training yet, but I'm debating on starting maybe in a month. I've always liked cardio a lot more. As for breakfast, I've taken a loving to rice cakes with peanut butter and/or spreadable fruit. It is tough to take the time and prepare stuff in the morning. I'm always on the go rushing to get to work. =P
hiddenstar and Syckgirlsfv ... I'm trying to keep up with you
hiddenstar, I love soup also, it's crazy the amount of sodium in it and then if you eat the whole can like me and add crackers, yowzers I hope you're feeling better It's amazing how you can add the spinach and it changes the color a little or alot without berries but doesn't change the taste at all
Syckgirlsfv as usual you've got this no worries
Hi GourmetGirl and LilDazed
Please send me some to stay here this time, this is my third time on this thread ... 159.4 this morning down 1.2.
My son and I have decided to do a 15lb challenge till Sept 1st. He told me he reached a new low today of 242.6 so he is coming down nicely with football. His goal is 227 and mine is 144. Our first weigh in is Monday. I need to lose 1.5lbs a week to make goal
hiddenstar - he is losing some pounds, too...but he still drinks more than I do so it's slow. But he HAS lost about 12 pounds - he's down to 250 and he was 262 a few months ago. He really just loves to ride mostly for the fun of it, but also for the health benefits. He's a big guy, though...6 feet tall and very muscular. Here is a pic of us from Vegas 2 weeks ago after both of us have lost 15 pounds. We still are at these weights
Down another pound so I'm officially calling myself in the 150s and out of my stall. I had slowed down to about 3 lbs a month for the last couple of months, but now I feel like I'm changing my number a lot more often again. Yay!! I think it's about 4 pounds in one month now so I am fine if I stay at that rate or maybe a little faster because that means I can call goal in 2 or 3 months!
I will reassess how I feel emotionally when I hit goal. I am defining "goal" as 145 or no longer considered "overweight". Obviously I'd like a little "cushion" pounds; but also, I will still be doing what I can to help my body to tone and to get rid of the belly fat. I feel like 13 more pounds will not rid me of all the fat I need to get rid of.
Love2b150 -
Hope you are here to stay. That's great that you have a challenge with your son. It will help keep the 2 of you motivated.
Mad Donnelly - glad that you made it fully.
I'm up another pound to 157.0. I was completely ravenous yesterday and kept eating. Then I realized tom is on his way. Usually have a day like this before. Hopefully my numbers and appetite will be normal again when tom leaves.
Yesterday was a good day. I was over my recommended sugar by +2, but thanks to the trusty elliptical, everything evened out again. Burned 500 calories so I treated myself to one macaroon (40cal!) when I finished.
Not gonna lie, watching the World Cup got me pumped! I rarely yell at the TV, but this was a good exception.
lildazed and hiddenstar - thank you for the compliments it sure brings things in to perspective and helps motivate me even more!!!
I'm heading back down the scale...157.4 today. Yesterday was 158.6, I think. We rode 16 miles last night. The next two days I have school at night so I won't get any exercise, but Friday we'll probably get out and ride at least 16 miles, but the 4th of July is also our 8th wedding anniversary so we might be doing something else. Not sure. But I do know we'll be dining out somewhere nice that evening!
