I finally broke down and weighed myself Sunday....
12/2/12 - 148.0
12/3/12 - 150.5
It's so demoralizing! I know this probably water, etc. but it drives me crazy to see the numbers bounce up.... grrrr....

I'm in for 5! I stepped on the scale this morning, after a week of business meetings with abundant and fancy food, and was horrified to see that I'd gained 5 pounds. I want them off! Needless to say it's a challenging month for losing, and I have five upcoming events to contend with, but I'm feeling pretty motivated right now. I plan to buck festive tradition and stick to my guns.

I will definitely be trying for 10 pounds this month. Today is my birthday and I told myself the best gift is losing weight. So I'm hitting the gym twice today.

Weighed in this morning before going to the gym. And I just turned down a slice of chocolate pie my boss brought back for me from his lunch meeting. Considering chocolate pie is my favorite, I'll mark that as a positive this week!

I'm late to the game again, but I'm on board

SW (as of 12/3) - 174.6
Goal - start the new year at 167 (or less, that'd be even better)

I'm in! Just for 5 though, cause last month was only 3.4 and I don't wanna get discouraged trying to get to 10 especially over Christmas. I really have to focus on adding in more exercise, the weather got cold here and I slacked off, so I know if I can keep with my 60min a day for 6 days a week that will help me.

I have a few goals involved in losing this month, I'm so excited!!

~Lose 3lbs and reach first mini goal of 20lbs lost!

~Lose 4lbs and be out of the 220's!

I'm back up to my highest weight ever so I think 10 lbs is do-able for me this month. Good luck ladies!

WOW, some of you are already losing like a pound or so a day... nice way to kick off the month!

I'm not a daily weigher (or even weekly for this month) but I'm sweating it out at the gym and eating right every day so hopefully come the 22nd I'll be posting some happy numbers of my own. :)

mnemosyne 12-04-2012 11:02 AM

Y'all are doing so well! I am still pretty much at my starting weight. Have stayed on plan with food but have not really exercised since Saturday as I have a cold and feel gross. Went to a concert last night and had fits trying to suppress coughing until the intervals of applause. :( But I will get better. I just need to make sure I get back into walking first thing in the morning when I do.

Just to spell it out a bit more, my goals for december (which I actually started on 25 November) are;

- Stay within my allotted calorie range EVERY DAY until my Christmas Eve party on the 24th.

- For the 24th, keep the indulgences that night to THAT NIGHT only, not the whole day! Lower calorie drinks -- not heavy, creamy, sugary stuff and not continuing to snack all night once dinner is over.

- For the 25th -- rest day from the gym (only because I know we will be hungover and out of town anyway) and keeping meals light during the day. I will even pack my oatmeal and/or a protein bar to have for breakfast instead of the pancakes/sausage/eggs, etc. that will be served. Dinner will be very indulgent, but I'll enjoy it and move on. No bringing home leftover food or alcohol from the event.

- BACK ON PLAN the 26th! Get to the gym, sweat out the crap, and keep going. *IF* we decide to go out on New Year's Eve it will be the same; keep meals clean and low cal during the day, workout hard, and limit drinks/dinner to just the one meal.

- Overall -- No bringing any seasonal crap/junk food/treats into the house... period. If we don't end up joining friends for dinner/drinks on Christmas and/or New Year's Eve it will be business as usual; gym, healthy meals cooked at home, etc.

I really overdid it on Thanksgiving and I vow NOT to do that again in December!

I really love your specific goals, and am copying it with a few tweaks based on my holiday plans. After reading this, I realize that my all or nothing goal of 'staying on plan over the holidays' really won't work while I'm traveling and visiting with family. Pre-planning based on real-life and outlining attainable and realistic goals makes so much more sense. Lesson learned for the future.
