Hi everyone! I just wanted to post that I lost 10 lbs. this month! I really am surprised because I thought it would be 6 lbs. for the month. I also passed my goal and am right in the middle of the range I've set up for myself originally!

Wow, congrats to all! Any loss should be celebrated in my book. Sorry to post so late, I did weigh myself today although that is not my official WI day. -5.2 lbs for the month of July.

Family was in town this weekend, so hard to stay on track when the meals are carb-laden and the smorgasbord of sweets. Anxious about WI on Wednesday.

Starting 6/29: 219
7/6: 217.8
7/13: 216.0
7/20: 215.0
7/27: 213.4
8/1: 213.8

RJ 1980 - Sorry for your loss. I'm never sure what to say or how to help people in that situation, but I'm sure that you just being there provides some comfort for your sister. I wouldn't beat yourself over it. I'm sure you'll be back on track in no time!

Ok, so I'm not sure how to really calculate my loss this month. The scale I originally weighed in on is the crazy one in my bathroom. So I'm going to say that I lost about 10 lbs. Maybe 9. It's reading about 188 (started at my high of 197). I'm switching my official scale to the calibrated digital one at the gym, which from what I can tell, is 2-3 lbs below the one in my bathroom. I'm also weighing in in the afternoon rather than the morning. The other day I weighed at the gym, and came home and weighed and it was about 2 lbs off. Anyway, 186.4 was my weight today, and I'm counting that as my official WI. That'll be my starting weight if there's a similar thread for August, and I'll take the extra lb and count it towards the total of an 11 lb loss for July - just to make myself feel better. Lol.

Ok, had to edit my wieght for today it was higher than I expected this morning (did not get any sleep last night - maybe the cause?)but I did get a loss this afternoon which is odd because my wieght is so much higher later in the day! So I hope it sticks Loss for the month of July 10.4lbs! I feel great about that!

SW: 188
7/04: 184
7/11: 183
7/18: 180.5
7/24: 179 (-1.5)
7/31: 178.5
8/01: 178

So I dropped that extra .5 lbs this morning! While it doesn't count towards my official weigh-in, it's nice to know that I barely made it. I worked incredibly hard for it this month.

RJ 1980, so sorry to hear about your loss. Using food as a coping mechanism is a tough cycle to break. Make sure you're really taking care of yourself. I don't know about your circumstances, but maybe you can do something active with the kids? Your health is important, especially during times of crises, and they probably need an outlet too.

Happy Birthday as well

RJ 1980...I am so sorry for you and your family. I know words don't mean much but I am sorry for your loss.

As for the weight loss...I started off at 177 at the beginning of the month and I was down to 168 before I left on my vacation but as of this morning, I was back up to 174. I am fairly sure that I am going to lose a few more pounds this week because I'm retaining a lot of water from traveling (driving for 12 1/2 hours and TOM) but it is what it is

I will try again in August!

Congrats to everyone for their success!

Thanks for the kind words.

Wow, so many 10 pound -or close to- losses. Really inspiring for this month, even though I didn't lose this month (well, lost 4.5 then gained it back). I have my daughters Christening on the 28th and would love to think I could lose close to 10 pounds by then. I also have a vaca to FL in the middle of Sept. Must be stong!

You guys are awesome, way to go!!

I wish someone will start the August thread, i will be busy with work load this month so i might not be able to log onto the website frequently hence might not make a good moderator.

Anybody is welcome to open the August thread, please

MY body went crazy with water retention. In four days I gained 25 pounds and this came with swollen legs and pitting edema. I have been to the doctor and we are trying to find out why.

Instead of a 10 pound loss by August 1st I ended with a 19 pound gain.

Starting weight on 07/01/11: 226
07/08: 226 - no loss
07/15: 224 - 2 pound loss
07/22: 220 - 4 pound loss
07/28: 220 - no loss
07/31: 245 - 25 pound gain

Larry,
