so I just got back from a conference in - of all places - Las Vegas. I weighed yesterday and was 143...i thought the same, but I looked back at my start for this and realized I actually started at 143.5! yey!! =)

I have a really busy afternoon, but I hope to catch up on this thread soon - it's been too long! Hopefully I'll check in before US turkey day, but if not, enjoy and don't let the pumpkin pie and stuffing bring you down!

jazzmegirl 11-25-2008 07:29 PM

Hey girls. OMG it's ----in Tuesday afternoon, and I haven't even started yet. I spend all day tomorrow cooking, very stressed, why did I ever decide to do this whole thing by myself? Must go shopping. Tomorrow's agenda, Tofurkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, maybe yams if I get that far. Food has been pretty good. HopingI lost some weight this week. My fitness evaluation shows I lost 10 pounds in th last two months, and my hydration level is up, BMI 26, down from a start of 30 in August, body fat percentage at 32, started at 37, all good. TTYL ladies.

Amie-good job on the fitness evaluation! That's awesome! I haven't started cooking yet either. Hopefully it will all come together.

Iris-Did you have any time for fun in Vegas? I'm going in 3 weeks for vacation. I'm getting very excited!

Haley-drinking is my downfall too. I could save tons of calories if I quit buying wine! Good job on quitting smoking!

I made the pumpkin chocolate chip cupcakes from Cupcakes Take Over the World. I made them for my husband to take to work tomorrow and I haven't eaten a single cupcake! I'm very proud of myself.

Have a great night, ladies!

jazzmegirl 11-25-2008 09:25 PM

Hey, Darby, WTG on making and not eating the cupcakes. Did your husband like them? Whatcha cooking? Are you the only veg? I guess I'm real lucky, I drank really heavily til I was in my mid 20's, then quit. Finally gave up the bean a couple years ago, coffee gives me migraines. Now I just drink tea. My next vice to go, junk food. I used to eat a double garden burger and garlic cheese fries at my favorite bar at least 3 times a week, no wonder I was so fat. Really don't wanna go shopping, the store will be packed.

hey ladies, o my goodness the food you guys are making sounds awesome! i'm not in charge of any of the cooking for thursday, so hopefully there will be some vegetarian/vegan options. if not, it might be a pretty light holiday in terms of eating, which wouldn't be a bad thing!
have any of you guys tried 30 day shread? i've been reading about it in the fitness thread and it sounds pretty awesome. i think i'm going to see if i can find it and do day one tomorrow. something needs to change, because i'm not losing any weight. well have a good night everyone and good luck with your holiday cooking.

Hi, hope it's not too late to join! I was Vegan for a long time and then changed to Vegetarian 6 months ago... and put on 22 pounds to be 138! :o Hoping to lose some of that in the next couple of weeks before I go away on vacation. Good luck to all Vegos trying to lose weight!

jazzmegirl 11-26-2008 08:23 AM

Hi, Laker, welcome. Uh, really tired this morning, and I have a huge day ahead of me. Still haven't gone shopping.
Amie

Darby1 11-26-2008 09:24 AM

Welcome Laker!! Where are you going on vacation??

Amie-I'm just cooking a Tofurkey, mashed potatoes, country gravy (from the recipe on the Tofurkey box) and stuffing. Oh, and I'm attempting my first pumpkin pie today. We're going over to my mom's house, so I guess I'll do most of the cooking over there. It's only going to be 3 of us, so I don't have to cook a ton of food. My husband is vegetarian, I'm vegan and my mom will eat anything I cook, so it's easy. Good luck shopping!

Well, I have to take one of the dogs to the vet this morning, and after that I'm going to work out. Then I'm going to attempt the pie. If the pie doesn't work out, I bought a pint of Soy Delicious (just in case!).

Have a great day, everyone!!

I won $50 on a $2 scratch ticket this morning! woot! I already spent it lol....well i spent $17 on my daughter, $13 on my mom (it's her birthday I already got her a present so this is something extra), I bought a sandwich at subway and a winter headband thing to wear when I'm running when it's not quite cold enough for a hat, and I did 4 loads of laundry so I was productive with the money I think.

I'm so nervous about my race lol but it probably won't be bad because I'm used to running 2-4 miles with some inclines throughout and the route tomorrow will be flat so it might go easier! I'm gonna try to go to bed early but it's gonna be hard because I'm excited! lol

oh my accounting test, i got an 83, not happy about it but the last problem I did i didn't get any points for because (we are allowed to have a little cheat sheet) the percentage I used was the one on my sheet not the one on my exam so all the numbers were wrong and that's the problem I had to rush to get done DARN! oh well at least I know I can do it I just need to relax, maybe I should write that on my sheet, RELAX lol i wonder if that would help.....

jazzmegirl 11-26-2008 02:32 PM

Hey, Darby, good luck with the vet. What are you doing with the tofurkey, a glaze, or just what's on the package? Mine have always turned out awful, so, this year I'm trying a sweet spicy glaze. Have the cranberry apple compote done, but baking these yams is taking a lot longer than I thought. Grabbing quick lunch, than, back at it, on to the stuffing. I really hope they like it, because I'm cooking everything for three people, I'm likely to be up half the night, but, then, I volunteered for this, LOL. I mean, cooking and singing are my two great potentially employable skills.

First weigh in for the week, would have been tomorrow, but, all bets are off. Anyway, I'm down to 151, so that's a loss of 2.5 pounds this week.

Darby1 11-26-2008 03:37 PM

Oh Amie, I'm so glad you asked me about how I'm going to baste my Tofurkey!! I had to get up to make sure they had the basting instructions on the box (they didn't have it on the box last year and I had to hunt it down on the internet. Of course, I didn't think to save it!). Anyway, if I hadn't gotten up, I would never have taken it out of the freezer! And it needs to defrost for 24 hours. So thank you! Also, congratulations on the 2.5 lb. loss!

Haley-congrats on the big win! It's fun to get money you weren't expecting. Sounds like your accounting test could have been worse! You passed! Now take a deep breath and enjoy your race and your holiday!

The vet appointment went well. We don't have to go back for 2 months! I've been taking her to a holistic vet for her skin issues and all the supplements she's on are working. So, fingers crossed, she stays healthy.

I made the pie. If it tastes as good as it smelled, it will be delicious.

The one thing I haven't done is work out. I need to force myself downstairs.

laker 11-26-2008 05:52 PM

Thanks jazzmegirl and Darby1!

Darby1 - It's a little under 2 month vacation around Europe, spending most of the time in Germany, Italy and Spain :)

Jeans are feeling a bit tight today, trying to blame it on them just coming out the wash but I think I have to accept I've gained a couple of inches on my hips. Going to walk down to the shops soon to get some fruit, and am considering going to a Yoga class that starts in an hour's time, if I can make it in time (maybe I'll bus instead of drive to get some extra exercise!)

Haley8203 11-27-2008 06:21 AM

Laker-Welcome!

Weigh-in

270.5

tigger175 11-27-2008 06:27 AM

Hey everyone.

It's a very stressful Thanksgiving for me. I have a microbiology test this afternoon and then a Biochemsitry test tomorrow. Boo!

Oh the plus side the study abroad office is throwing a Thanksgiving lunch and upon my suggesting they are having a vegetarian option! Bell peppers stuffed with veggies! Hooray!

Despite all the stress I've been under, I made my Thanksgiving goal. It's probably because the stress caused me to work out. Although a few times I as so stressed I was having a hard time putting the dried cranberries down. I just wanted to keep eating for comfort.

SW-112
CW- 109.6
Thanks giving goal- 110
Christmas goal- 107

I hope everyone else has a great weigh-in and a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Dee
