|
Good morning chickies! Things are going pretty good here- Thinking of putting up my tree already *gasp* lol... my neighbor put theirs up so, I figure at least I won't be the only crazy one!!! lol
I have a few errands to run today and the last load of laundry to put up... but other than that pretty uneventful. I need to go to pick up my kitty's food and thats like an hour away... sigh- its prescription and I can't get it here... oh well.... I better call first to make sure they have it! |
Hey girls,
I had a good weekend. Quiet, but I got a lot done. We put a bunch of stuff up on Craigslist, got rid of some old cars that were left by my dad, got rid of a barn full of old car parts, and I cooked up some meals to freeze. I'm also up to day 9 of my 21 day exercise challenge. It's been hard, but I get such a sense of satisfaction when I'm done. Welcome to our little group, summerkate!! haley-I hope your biopsy turns out ok! rdw-I have to drive all over the county to keep my animals fed, too! My lab just recently started a special diet, and there's only ONE place I can buy it. It's super expensive too. Totally worth it though, because my girl is doing much much better! Alright, we have 16 days till Thanksgiving. Let's kick it into high gear and reach our Thanksgiving mini goal!!! Have a great day, everyone! |
Hey girls
It seems that my overeating last week made me up to 148 :( I ate good yesterday and just got off the treadmill!! I haven't gone up like that in a while soo I was dissapointed..but maybe thats what i needed to kick it up a bit. Well everyone looks like their doin great! You girls are the best:D Summerkate :welcome3: |

Hey everyone,
Julie- Posting here everyday keeps me excited about being vegetarian. I like just sharing my daily vegetarian adventures with everyone :) and hopefully you girls don't mind me talking so much! On that note, my adventure for today. I went to the farmer's market and bought organic walnuts (because I don't think I'm getting enough healthy fats) and quinoa. Now I've never had quinoa but heard good things about it so if any of you have advice/recipes I'd love to hear! Now that you girls mention it- I think there is frozen fish in my freezer! agh! Well my friends and I are always having group dinners, so I think I'll just invite them all over and cook them fish and I'll make a ton of veggies as their side and my main dish. Sounds like a plan to me :) I'm kinda low on cash so it will cover my turn to cook dinner, and I already have the fish so it isn't bad to use it for them, plus it will let me get rid of it because I'm not even tempted to eat it I just want it out of the freezer. Today I've been hungier than usual. I guess I'll just eat more. My weight has been jumping up and down 2-3 pounds for the past week and a half so I think I'm pretty much maintaining, which is good :) Hope all of your girls' weight loss is going well. Oh and I guess I never formally introduced myself. I'm Dee. You can call my tigger, but that's my dog's name :) I love her a lot, she's a jack russel terrier with a lot of energy and spunk. Dee |
Darby-You are doing so awesome with your challenge!!! :cheer:
I wish it was just over the county here- I actually drive 4 counties away- but I am trying to get out of that as we speak! places have it here but I don't have an rx for it- and the vet there will give it to me. To get a vet to give me the food here they want to see her, and well, she is old and cranky- shots make her miserable for 2+ days- so sore you can't even touch her. and no one will see her without shots! ugh... there is a cycle here :) anywho-I don't think anyone in their right mind would just randomly pay 35 bucks for a 10lb bag of catfood unless their animal needed it!<end rant> Dee- tigger sounds sooo cute! My dogs think they are jack russels by the way the jump straight up! BUT, they are 60 & 70lbs! ha! For those of you who are lacto ovo I made a YUMMY soup/stew- well, actually pot of beans... I bought the hambeens(ARTIFICIAL HAM Flavor) they were very good! I cooked those in the crock pot for the day then last night I made some garbanzo dumplings(I do south beach so no flour for me) boiled them in it and then the last cople minutes of cooking I added a BUNCH of spinach. YUMMY! I am sure there is some vegan sub for dumplings... This was sooo good. Super comfort food! |
Hey girls!
Not much going on with me today. The weather here is cold and depressing and I have a test on Friday to study for :( I think I'm in need of a little cheering up. Maybe I should bake something, lol. I do love cooking and baking. I'm going to make a vegetable curry for dinner. rdw1-What kind of dogs do you have? Yeah I thought tigger would calm down as she ages but she is still as wild as ever. Well, i guess when we go on runs she can't go as far, after a mile or so she finds a bit of shade and plops down. Sometimes I have to pick her up and carry her :) Tomorrow is weigh in :) I hope everyone sees something good! Dee |
Darby-thanks so much! i read online that 4% of women get the nodule but they are usually benign.
i am not looking forward to the scale i havent figured out how to deal with having tests and papers due all the time while staying on track lol. i have two tests tommorrow and a big one next thursday!! oh well. |
Haley- I hope everything goes ok with your biopsy. You're in my prayers.
School makes eating healthy difficult. I always want to be eating something while I'm working on my homework. It's like I try to overcome my mental exaustion by feeding my body more, but that doesn't really help :-p What are you studying? Good luck on all your papers and tests. |
tigger-thanks so much! i have an american history and algebra test tomorrow and an accounting test next week. im an accounting major but theres always a ton of other classes you have to take that have nothing to do with your major lol i dont like that! im 26 ive got over 3 years left partly because of these other classes meanwhile im sinking in debt lol i just want to get my degree and get out so i can get a job! haha

tigger- I LOVE quinoa! Heres how I cook it (as a breakfast)
bring 3/4 "milk" to a boil, add 1/4c quinoa and 1/8c rasins (or other cut up dried fruit). Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 or until quinoa is cooked. When cooked, blend the quinoa mixture (it should still be a little runny with the milk) then pour in your bowl and add 1/4-1/2 c of sliced fresh fruit. I like using bananas and sometimes I add some strawberries. Its an awesome breakfast, very filling and its around 300 calories and around 12 grams of protein. Its great. |

****** As for me, it's been a long week. BF expressed some concern last night because, "I never see you eat. I'm worried." So I decided to eat in front of him. It was only some french fries but *shrugs* The thing is, he and I both work long hours so when I DO see him, I've already eaten something. It happens though. I took a trip to my hometown. My grandmother wanted to meet me for lunch. Grant it, my hometown is four hours away. So when I get there, she wants me to meet her at a grill. Okay, that's fine. Turns out they had a veggie pizza, I just asked them to nix the cheese. My work outs have been short. I've made it a point to get my heart rate up a few times today...it's like I'm exercising about10 minutes at a time...2-3 times a day. I'm getting it in...I just don't feel like I'm doing much. lol But I AM moving more that I was, and that's all that matters. Sounds like everyone is doing well. Keep your spirits up girls! And here's some :dust: |
TheHeather thanks for the dust :)
How are you all doing? Tomorrow is WEIGH IN! I don't think I'm ready but oh well. ;) |
I don't know if I'm ready either!!!
-_- Even a pound would be great. |
