i didn't see the Twilight movie but my roommate did, and she said she wasn't very impressed. I think I might just pass on it altogether - I'm usually pretty disappointed when books get turned into movies.

I have some specific December goals -
- get in at least 15 minutes of exercise every day (not much, but i'm REALLY busy!)
- limit internet to twice a day - morning and night

I'm challenging myself to do these two things every day this week. If anyone else has any goals and would like to join me in the self-challenge, please do! =)

Fat Chick B Gone 12-01-2008 12:52 PM

ohhh I forgot today was 12/1 and I decided to do a mile goal for the month of December. I want to run at least 30 miles in the month of December. Running, not wogging, not walking ;) I'll keep you girls updated. Or ask me if I don't to make sure I'm not slacking!

Hey girls!

Sounds like everyone has got their own challenges they're trying to conquer this month!

I'm going to work out every day until we leave for vacation (which is on the 15th). I also need to come up with something to keep me going when we return. I'd work out while we were there, but the hotel charges $25 a day to use the gym/spa facilities!!! That's crazy.

Yesterday I watched a program on the Discovery channel called "Extreme Weightloss". They showed 4 people who lost large amounts of weight in unusual ways (nothing unhealthy). For instance, one man decided to ride his bike across the country! Another woman accidentally fell into what she called the Reverse diet. She basically started eating dinner for breakfast, a regular lunch, and breakfast for dinner. She lost a ton of weight doing it (even wrote a book). She actually cooks dinner to eat for breakfast, but I suppose it's really about eating your largest amount of calories in the morning and just a small amount in the evening. Anyway, I found it pretty interesting.

Have a great evening, everyone!

Thanks Jill....I guess I shouldnt be so hard on myself I have gotten back on track already so I hope to just drop back down in the next week I would hate to have to change my ticker

I saw twilight as well... My friend had read the books and wanted to see it so I went along knowing nothing about it at all. I am hooked now I want to read the books now. and...Robert Pattison (Edward) is a dream

Fat Chick B Gone 12-02-2008 07:20 AM

I've read Twilight and reading New Moon now. They are cute but I do not understand the obsession, more of just a fun read for me. <ducks head and runs for cover from the fans>

The reverse diet - I LOVE leftovers for breakfast! Problem is I love dinner for dinner too!

I didn't run last night. The dogs were hellions on the walk and I just wanted to veg on the couch after we were done. Lame excuse but just couldn't get into it.

FATCHICKBGONE.. You are doing great with your exercise!

IRIS.. Good job on setting goals for yourself!

DARBY.. You can do it!

So I bought my roommate Wii Fit for her birthday, I'm thinking of joining the Wii Fit challenge soon... I also just got my McDougall Cookbooks :) So hopefully this helps me out of my rut! New ideas are always welcomed!

Yesterday was NOT a good day! My husband backed into a minivan at the Target parking lot. No damage to his truck, but a dented bumper on the van. He left a note and the guy called him and said he'd contact him once he got an estimate. My husband said he didn't think it would cost more than a couple of hundred dollars. So being the cynic that I am, I imagine it will be closer to 400 or 500 dollars.

Anyway, this is not a great time to have an unexpected bill (is it ever?) so I was really upset. He went ahead and played poker with his friends as planned. That made me mad too. Anyway, I ended up eating a bunch of mac & cheeze and half a chocolate mousse pie. I'm absolutely an emotional eater and I know that, but I honestly had no idea what to do to keep from eating. I just sort of stormed the kitchen when I got off the phone with my husband. It was like I had no control over myself.

Oh well, it's over now, the damage is done. All I can do is move forward, right? I did work out yesterday and I will again today.

On another tpic, does anyone have any experience with Veganrella cheese? My mom bought a block of it and didn't use it and gave it to me. I've read some reviews online and they aren't good. Any ideas?

JulieJ08 12-03-2008 10:25 AM

Darby  and :crossed: for the car!

erinmagill 12-03-2008 11:52 AM

Ive never had that cheese in particular, but my experience with vegan cheese in general is that they arent that great. I LOVE cheese but refuse to eat it, so any time I eat a substitute its a huge disappointment that Im not eating the real thing. Personally, I have never found a vegan cheese that I truely like. The only time I use it is if I am making a pizza and then I use just enough to hold the veggies on and no more.
Let me know how that one is though. Id love to find a brand I enjoy.

erinmagill 12-03-2008 11:57 AM

...and on that note I have to begrudgingly go to my mommy and me fitness class...
But Im starting to see the reason why I do it! Very stupid mini goals...
Firstly, I DID MY FIRST EVER PUSH UP!!!
Secondly, WHEN I FLEX MY ARMS, I FEEL MUSCLES!
Alright, I`ll go now

shananigans 12-03-2008 12:05 PM

The best vegan cheese I've had is stuff I've whipped up in the kitchen myself. Vegan Rella is not the best commercially available vegan cheese I've ever had, I prefer vegan gourmet, or if you can get your hands on it Teese is even better. Our co-op started carrying it after I made a couple requests, but you can order it online if you're really curious. It doesn’t taste like cheese, but I’ve fed it to omnivores that say it tastes good, which is more than I can say about every other vegan cheese I’ve bought.

Possibly off topic: there’s a Vegan Rella Cheddar Block recall going on right now because it may possibly contain an undeclared milk protein (not vegan)

Fat Chick B Gone 12-04-2008 07:49 AM

Jill - ohhh I want a WiiFit so bad. Okay probably should get the Wii first ;)

Darby - major suckage on the car. I don't know what to tell you about the food. I'm such an emotional eater also. The only thing that works for me is to get out of the house and avoid food. I detested Veganrella when I tried it. It was semi ok melted on pizza but I'd never buy it again. I agree with Shananigans - I prefer the stuff I make at home best. I do want to try Cheezley - I've heard good things about it and the Teese.

Erin - Awesome lady! Pushups are hard core, you'll have kick *** arms in no time!

I've slacked at exercise this week. I had two days of inventory observations for clients which involved 4 hours each day walking pretty much non-stop and climbing up and down stairs. By the time I got home my legs said no more! I have a quick trip to Atlanta tonight and back late tomorrow. As of Saturday morning I plan to jump back on the exercise track. While in ATL I really hope to try this place out: http://www.greensproutga.com/. I'm eating very low calories today so I can try the General Tso "Chicken" this evening when we get in! It's 1.6 miles from the hotel - I'll walk it if I need too! (can you tell there is a severe lack of veg options in Charlotte!!!)

Weigh-in = 206.6. Woosh big bloat from last week is gone though still haven't made my T-day goal!

tigger175 12-04-2008 08:21 AM

Hey girls!

CW-109.2

Weight loss is going slow, so I'll have to work extra hard to make it to my goal by Christmas. I won't be upset if I don't reach it though- I just want to feel good about my body. Yesterday I was sitting in my bed watching the Biggest Loser and I was like why am I laying here?! So for the last 30 minutes of the show i did jumping jacks, squats, push ups, and ran in place. It made me feel better just to do something. I'm going Christmas shopping in town today so I should get some walking in :) and hopefully find my brother a gift. It's hard to shop for 18 year old boys who only like computer games!

Oh I called up one of my best friends who I haven't talked to in awhile and can't wait to go and visit her when I go back home. She has been a vegetarian for her whole life (she's a 7th day adventist) and wants to eat veggie things with me :) She is the only vegetarian friend I have (other than you girls!) so it will be nice to have support.

I hope everyones' weigh-ins go ok. I know its a stressful time of year, but we can do this!

Dee

Jill- my picture is me at Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. It me on the rock formation "giant's boot" :) It's really beautiful there. And I felt empowered.. like a giant lol

JulieJ08 12-04-2008 10:30 AM

Forgot to mention that I made my Thanksgiving goal of 145 (a little late!), with 144 yesterday, and it stuck today ;).

Erin, :congrat: on the pushup. I ain't there yet, but I'm working on it :)

shananigans, have you tried any of the nut cheeses?

Fat Chick B Gone, sounds like you had a workout nonetheless, but I KWYM. Yay for whooshes!

tigger, beautiful pic. Random factoid, I used to be SDA. Although, my parents were never vegetarian, but we were pretty light meat eaters.
