Brid, I LOVE the choccie hobnob plan, make sure you share the plan with your parents too, then you'll be far less likely to just decide to take them home with you, or have a couple or whatever in a moment of weakness, because they'll remind you of the rules!!!

MissSMcC, hope the car is good

Choccy, hope things sort themselves out at work soon, well done on maintaining!

MM - whoop to exams being over! Aftrer my blowout celebration of having all my work for the semester done on Monday, I've just got back on it today and have written my dissertation proposal this morning, I should now begin the reading that goes with it, but I CAN'T BE BOTHERED!

Lozz, anther WHOOP WHOOP for the job, well done you

Jose, how's your day going? I think I missed the post about your hols and now can't turn the page to to go back without losing this so I@ll have a look in a min!

Hello everyone else that my sieve brain as forgotten from the other page!

I'm really sleepy today, looking forward to bedtime! Been on plan so far with the work I needed to do, food and exercise, so that's good!

Enjoy the rest of your days guys, the weekends almost here, yay!

Hey all!!!!
Well done for even surviving exams! We have GCSE's in this house( my daughter) and that is bad enough. She can't study without a packet of bourbons!
Lozz I am so pleased for you on the job front...be proud of yourself girl!
Joselo enjoy your time away...don't feel deprived but don't binge and then feel guilty!
Thanks for the walking music suggestions. Walked with my son's class to the local leisure center(1.1 miles according to google!) for them to practice some olympic themed whatsit. Then swam 50 lengths and walked back. Unfortunately their class teacher is a teeny weeny size 6-8 in her early twenties and walks so fast I always feel like we are on a route march!
Am proper knackered!
Weigh in is Sunday.....am feeling a bit apprehensive. Hubby saying I look slimmer but not sure if he is just saying that to be kind!
Have kept up the walking and on to the healthy eating but we all know those scale gremlins could mess it up!!!
Love n hugs

Hi guys,

Hope you are all having a good week.

Jose, Brid's advice on informing your friends about your changing eating habits before you go away is a very good one. You don't want to end up in an awkward position and end up eating too much for whatever reason. I'm sure they will understand and fully support you.

Lozz, missed your post about a job but from the fact everyone else has said congrats I gather that a big 'WOOP WOOP' is in order so congrats!

Marchmallow, well done on completing the exams. It's been three years since my finals at uni and I really don't miss those! Hope you get the results you're hoping for

I've had a good day today and a work colleague asked me if I'd lost weight and said that I look great. Really nice to get compliments as it confirms the fact that I am actually shrinking haha.

Just did my 40 mins on my exercise bike and waiting for the boyfriend to come home from work.

Have a nice evening folks xxx

Hello!!

Oh fabulous 1987!! That must have been so great... To see the hard work is paying off, plus everyone likes a compliment don't they!!

MW with all that exercise I am sure the weigh in is a success! That is sweet of your husband to say, another one enjoying people beginning to notice!

Brid that is such a nice idea with the hobnobs! It is like the dieting equivilant of the credit card in ice block trick!! Plus, the walk there will cancel out the hobnob, surely!

Welcome back MM... freedom!! I was just telling everyone I am going on holiday in a week, to London and then Brighton with 2 friends. We will be going clubbing and things, which as people here has suggested, nearly always leads to me going for takeaway after! I don't want to gain weight while I am away. Luckily though, the two friends I go with are very slim girls, both size 6! So they do not overeat, so hopefully the trip won't involve too much eating out and takeaways etc. I think I might mention to them that I am trying to eat a bit more healthily. I get uneasy telling them about an actual diet as such but I know they will be really nice and supportive so maybe best I let them know. They will probably notice anyways, if I am able to stick to it!!

xxxx

First of all, thank you all so much for your congrats etc. It's been a long time coming but i finally did it.

Secondly I'm down to 302 so far this week, so I'm hoping the walking ive been doing the last couple of days has kick started the losing again.

MM - well done for getting thro those exams. Now just chill and have some fun. You deserve it.

Jose - definitely tell your friends that you're going in holiday with about what you're doing. That way, in theory, they should respect your choices and you'll feel more comfortable too and be able to enjoy yourself.

1987 - yay!! A compliment!! I bet you feel like a new woman!!

MW - don't worry if those gremlins show up on you're scales. They've been bugging me these last couple of weeks but keep at it and it will get better.

MissSMcC - hope the car is super awesome lol I know how much it was stressing you out

I'm pretty tired tonight, so gonna chill with springwatch and go to bed. I need to start getting my work head on lol

Yay to compliments, hob nob plans (I love those things) and new cars. And Joselo - def tell your friends as I'm sure they'll understand and support you.

I'm having a mare this week and don't know why. Been bang on it as so determined to reach target. I've gone red all the way. Lots of protein, salad, veg and fruit and just 2 x b options for carbs and minimal syns.....and I've gained 2lb. WTF??? Yes, I know it's probably water retention and it'll suddenly drop off, but I've been sooooo good and want to see results before I go out drinking tonight, lol. Might have to stay in as too scared to risk it.

Bah. Stupid body. Do as you're told for heaven's sake

EM - don't let it stop you from having fun!! Have a few drinks but as soon as you get
home, down a pint of water. It's normally a great hangover prevention tool, but it'll stop you from getting dehydrated and retaining water over night. Xxx

Or, Ellie, you could skip the water, suffer the hangover, but get a lovely low scale number thanks to dehydration. But that plan has the downside of it then taking ages to get back down to that number, because as soon as you're rehydrated the blip's over. I got down to 10.6lbs on the 5th thanks to drinking dehydration, went back up again when I had a cuppa, and didn't get back down there until the 14th.

Hobnob update: three eaten (one by my dad, two by me). Packet hidden somewhere in parents' kitchen. Neither I nor my mum know where, as only my dad can be trusted not to devour them. And halfway through the second I realised I would've been perfectly satisfied with just one, so next time one is all I'll have.

1987 - a work colleague noticed? That's fantastic! It's one thing when someone you haven't seen for months notices, but it's harder to see when you see someone every day. Really must be noticeable. Excellent!

Does anyone else keep a paper food diary, as opposed to using a website? I just finished my first one, and had to buy a new notebook (shockingly pink, as it happens), and started it today. All those fresh clean new pages, I can't wait to fill them up! Just a shame I didn't manage to lose 0.6lbs more before finishing it, then the first book would chart the loss of three and a half stone exactly.

Default Gillian Mackeith.....aarrrggghhh!

Lozz....302 is fab.....you will be seeing those 200's soon!
It's great to come on here and witness the same struggles....that means you chocolate hobnob packet!!!
Have been feeling a bit rubbish today ( long story) so I sat and watched " you are what you eat" Am I the only person who wants to slap Gillian " Och I am disgusted" Mackeith?
Has the woman no concept of the complex issues around weight?
Clearly not.
Her method seems to be pull a face like a cat's bum at all somebody eats, make them eat alfalfa sprouts and rice milk and humiliate them when they are wibbling around the local park!!!!!!
Am I alone in thinking that in the long run this is not helpful?
And what normal person can afford all the wholefoods she suggests?

Don't even get me started on Gillian McKeith!

You know I'm a Guardian reader? There used to be a column in the Guardian by Ben Goldacre, which shot down bad science in the media, and he and she had pretty much a war. Lawsuits and slander and all sorts - directed at him from her, because he was speaking the truth about all the bollocks that woman comes out with. Let me find you a link...

http://www.badscience.net/category/gillian-mckeith/

Have a poke through, it's quite fascinating.

Am now staring at a Milky Way, which appears to be a double bar rather than the single I asked for. But only 98 calories for each half and I don't have to have them both. Ended up snapping at the boyfriend though - "If you want one, have one, just don't have five!" he said while I was checking the calories online. He's not a fan of calorie counting, because, he says, he really struggles to hit 2000 daily. He's 5'9 and eight and a half stone - sounds to me like calorie counting works then!

As an aside, five minutes ago it was sunny, now the heavens have opened, there's thunder and lightning and hail like a monsoon. Wtf, weather?

I didn't think of it like that, I guess so think it is certainly helped by the fact that I have been wearing some new, better fitting clothes too!

I keep my food diary on a spreadsheet. It is so weird knowing that I have documented everything I've eaten for over two months. Within the same spreadsheet I also document my daily exercise and weekly weightloss and measurements, so I have a full record of that too. Never thought I would be this organised

Can't wait to look back at it all when I reach goal!

3lb loss for me this week, very happy with that! I have 4lb to go until the 2 stone loss mark. Never thought I would ever lose weight, let alone 2 stone!

Got a week off work next week and a few days away so fingers crossed I don't gain or anything as I won't be able to do my usual exercise. Hopefully will do lots of walking instead to compensate!

Have a nice Friday evening everyone!
