I recently rejoined Weight-Watchers again and in the first two weeks lost 5lb. Unfortunately I can't get to the meeting this week due to work commitments tomorrow (usual weigh-day) and then going away for a few days. and because I'm not being weighed I am not managing to be as good as usual, I've not gained but not lost either. I shall be relieved to go back next week!

I would like to post my weekly loss to the group, is this the thread where I do this? I've looked in so many places on this website that I'm getting confused!

Helen
Hi Helen welcome to 3fc don't get confused just ask if there's owt you don't get! Glad to see you

Hi Helen

Its very nice to meet you
I know what you mean too, it is so easy to slip up when you know you aren't going to be weighed. Even after so long I still do it....My weight loss has slowed down a lot since I started and someone advised me to only weigh myself once a month instead of once a week, but I know that definitely wouldn't work for me....I need the constant threat of those scales each week or I would be forever just saying to myself ....Oh go on I can have just one piece of chocolate, I have at least 3 weeks to make up for it and I know that would be my downfall and not something I am prepared to do after getting this far.
Congratulations on your 5lbs lost so far, its a great start...just keep remembering that...If you have a bad week this week, don't let it put you off, just put it behind you and get right back on track starting afresh...when you have a lot of weight to lose, there will be many times along the road that you make mistakes, the main thing is how you deal with those mistakes...you can either feel guilty about it and dwell on them...or you can just put it down to one bad day and forget about it and start again.
The longer you fret about mistakes...the more lkikely you are to give up...so just take the mistakes as a lesson and learn how not to repeat them.
Just keep hanging in there. I have said this so often, but the rewards are definitely worth all the effort.
I just noticed you are from Staffordshire...where abouts...I lived in Burslem in stoke on trent for about 5 years I moved back to manchester, my home town just over a year ago.

Good luck for thursday Carol I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you

Congratulations on your 4.5lbs TQ keep up the good work

Ali

Back again

Helen I forgot to mention I noticed you and shell had joined my mailing list.
I just wanted to apologise now but I started work full time a few months ago and haven't had much chance to keep up with my newsletter, I seem to be spending all my time just trying to stay on top of my emails just now, but I will be trying to get something done in the next couple of weeks

Hi

Thanks to everyone for their welcome.

I knew today and yesterday were going to be difficult because I work at a College and we've been bogged down in enrolment for the last couple of days. Even though its not been as busy as usual its still tiring and I've felt very much out of routine. I haven't been bad but haven't been too good either. I'm off to Wales to visit my parents for a couple of days now; they eat very healthily (dad has angina) so I'm hoping that I will manage to stay on track for the time I'm away so next week I can show a reasonable loss.

Ali, I agree; I really need the weekly weigh-in to keep me going, and doing it at home just doesn't work for me. I also need the motivation that the WW meeting gives me so need to make sure I stay to the talk.

I live in Burton on Trent so I'm not too far from Stoke and know a few people who do live there but can't say I know it at all well.

Don't worry about your newsletter, although I see you have produced one since your post about it. Now I feel guilty

Good luck to Carol, and anyone else who is about to weigh-in

I weighed in last night, and stayed the same.

I kind of thought I'd lost weight (stuck to the diet) but I also got my period, so I don't know how that affected things.

Good luck to the rest of you.

Well stood on the scales this morning and weighed the same again - despite having been down a pound yesterday morning - serves me right for scale hopping yesterday. So now I have a full week to be serious and pull off a drop in that scale for next week.

I am going to do I am I am Iam

GRRRRRRR...I just spent the last 10 minutes typing here then hit the ctrl button by mistake and everything went...so here we go again

Helen...don't feel guilty about the newsletter...I really needed a kick in the pants to make me get something done...joining the mailing list was really what I needed to spur me into action...so Thank You

Mini Gem, isn't TOM a complete pain....I hate it when I know I have been really good and expect a good loss and it arrives and spoils the party....don't let it get you down though you hang in there and I am sure you will see a good loss next week

BritinNJ...well done on your loss...now aren't you proud of yourself for finding the strength to not give in...I'm proud of you

Carol...I know what you mean about scale hopping....as you all know by now I am the first person to tell you never weigh yourself more than once a week, but I do it all the time ...especially this past 2 weeks. At last weeks weigh in I was down to 13 stone 4lbs and all this week I have been hopping on and off the scale almost every time I have gone into the kitchen...I swear I have been on them so much even though the battery is guaranteed for 25 years I think it may be in danger of running out
The reason I was on it so much is that I tell myself it is ok to get on them as often as I like because I weigh what the scale says at the time I stand on them...but I never record anything as accurate unless it is taken at 1 o/clock on a friday afternoon...all this past week the scale has said between 13 stone 1lb and 13 stone and I just desperately wanted to see it say 12 stone something...I wouldn't have been disappointed when it came to my regular weigh in time if it didn't say 12 stone something, I just wanted to see it ...does that make any sense?
Well todays weigh in time arrived and the scales said 13 stone...another 4lbs lost this week and I anm thrilled about it...just need to keep up all the hard work for next week and make sure I see it say 12 stone something ...no prizes for guessing who will be scale hopping this week eh
TOM is due next week so that could spoil my party...fingers crossed .
I just looked at my signature...it just seems totally amazing where it says total amount of weight to lose 200lbs and now the total amount left to lose is just 28lbs ...I still can't quite believe it

good luck to everyone for their weigh ins this week

Ali
