Thumbs down Darn it, darn it darn it

Just sat here, took an hour to post this HUGE entry with colored and bold responses to EVERYONE and POOF. It's gone. Then I rememebered Teahoney saying you could recapture a lost post by pressing SUMPIN, but it escapes me and I have no way of finding out right now. Awww man! You mean I gotta start over? I'm swearing some werdy derds right now. Deep breath, Java, you can do it.

Unhappy RE-posting the lost and LENGTHY post. Grrrr

Cassie: I'm sorry everyone is sick now. I'm sending you speedy get well vibes. Please take care (and that means you too).

Cheryl120: I'd love to see a photo of your quilt sometimes. That sounds like a great winter hobby. Looks like you've been awfully busy with appointments. Don't forget to schedule some time for yourself.

Garnetfairy: Great job on getting back to the gym and doing all that exercise. You can't help but keep those five pounds off with all THAT work. Great job. Take care of that neck and shoulder strain.

LadyLai: Aunt Flow is a wicked, evil woman. Just ignore her if you can. Just keep keeping on. You're doing the right thing.

Meowee: Owie! Sorry to hear you twisted your knee. I recently sprained mine and upon getting it checked, discovered I had arthritis in it. I suspect that's also what's wrong with my right hip. Do you take anything for joint health? Man, that makes me sound old, eh? I take Glucosomine Controiden (or something like that). Take care of yourself

AndrewsMum: It's a good thing that birthdays and their fun eating, come but once a year. But it sounds like you've already gotten things back under control. Great job.

Pattybgud: I'm so sorry DH is so ill. I'm sending you speedy get well vibes as well.

Ladylane06: Down five pounds is down five pounds. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Where DO we get those kinds of sayings? I mean, you know what I mean right? Great job. You'll be back on track before you know it.

Jelylnn: I'm sorry you're feeling down. I swear it must be the weather. Hang in there, kid. And incidentally, I'd LOVE to be 220. Honest I would.

Robsia: Your phots are just AMAZING. WEIGH to go lady!

Teahoney: You are kicking some serious booty with all that exercise, lady. Just look at that tracker!

Newbeginnings: Welcome Welcome Welcome. I'm new too (well to this thread at least). You'll love it here. These women are the greatest.

And now, I don't feel like typing my funny again. It was about McDonald's Grimace and it was really funny, at least to ME. But it might have seemed cruel to someone else. Maybe that's why I lost my post. As you can see, I've redone it, but without color, boldness or smiley's. Grrrr Cyber Gods are angry today. TTFN my friends. Enjoy your week ends.

Smile Happy Saturday!

Good afternoon ladies! How's the weekend treating ya'll so far? So far, so good here. I'm snacking on a bowl pop of "smart pop" popcorn, only 2.5g fat per 8.5 cups! Who's going to eat 8.5cups?!! I bought some crystal light to go with, but I really think it's too sweet! It's amazing how your tastes change after drinking water and a occasionally milk for months.

My husband wondered the mall with me before he went to work, we stopped in a plus size store for a moment, he picked out a jacket size 16 and it actually fit. Needless to say, I didn't buy it. It was pink! I would feel like a billboard with that on...hahaha He seems to think I need to go shopping because even now my shirts are getting too big. Usually you can pass with a shirt a little baggy, but it's getting to the point where I'm looking frumpy. Oh woooo ez me, I have gotten the word from my hubby to go shop..hehee!

And also in the mall a man was sitting beside us in the cafeteria said how much my little girl looked like me, then he said to her "you're very pretty"...hehe Just like her mom!

Okay enough from me!

Java, you have a very cool job. That used to happen to my posts too, then I started typing them in notepad and then copy and paste. I know how frustrating that is!

Garnet, thanks for that tidbit of info! I'll hang onto anything! LOL You had an amazing loss! Good for you! Don't worry about the little splurge, cause you know what I heard....they say if you eat healthy and clean at least 80% of the time that little endulgences will not affect you. So sit back and put your feet up over this one!

Cheryl, I'm an amatuer? (good greif can't think of how to spell it!) quilter, I just finished a log cabin quilt for my daughters bed. I really enjoyed it, and it's so easy to get lost in it. Keeps you away from the fridge and pantry too!

Cassie, hope you all get over this real soon! Stomach flu is the absolute worst! I think I said on this thread before that I'd rather give birth again than have a stomach flu. LOL!! The best part about being sick is that you can watch the scale decrease!

Newbeginning, Welcome to our thread! I look forward to getting to know you better. Don't worry about that beginning #, you won't have to own it for long!

Linda, now you can send some of that spring sunshine our way! We have a cloudy sky and a little fog. But it's still +3 which I'm not complaining about at all! Yeah I'm trying to hang on to everything I know. I was to the point where I wasn't going to exercise today cuz I was so dissappointed. But then I thought to myself, I'm waiting for a loss and if I don't exercise I definitely will be waiting a lot longer. So I managed to get my treadmill all heated up this morning afterall!

Have a great day ladies! I'm going to have a easy peasy afternoon, not planning on doing anything!

TTFN!

Hello again . . .

I'm sooooo sorry I missed you in my previous post, newbeginning. Here is a great, big, welcoming for you. Don't you worry about that 'big, ugly number', you'll be below it in no time. Always remember . . . one woman's 'big, ugly' is another woman's 'first goal' . . . mine (actually it's below it, but we won't quibble over 4 lbs.)

I take glucosamine all the time, Java. I sometimes think it's the only thing that keeps me moving at all.

My goodness, Tina. When the man says "shop", girl . . . you "shop". Have a great time at it too.

See you soon, gang. Keep moving in all the right ways.

Cheryl - HI let us know what movie you see...and how you liked it, please. I love movies.

I am so glad that you are feeling better and back up to doing life's daily stuff. Are you making a full size bed quilt or something else??

Cassie - I am happy to hear you are feeling better too...try not to catch it back from the rest of the family. Congrats on the scale starting to move again!

Newbeginning - you will like this thread, everyone is so nice and sweet and trying so hard, very motivational...of course we all have our bad days and some of us cheat here and there <raising my hand> but we are doing good getting this weight off! You'll see, you will lose weight too.

What program are you following? Do you exercise yet??

Meowee - thanks! I am with you, I vote for a nice long Spring with hardly a summer at all if any...It gets soooo hot down here in Texas, I always wondered if I poked a hole in my belly with a straw would the melted fat flow out because surely it melts in the summer. But my doctor says no it doesnt work that way...but I made him smile.

I take glucosamine too, it helps my crunchy knees.

Java - I say werdy derds too!
Thanks for the encouragement! I am not weight training right now to rest the shoulder/neck...so it is just cardio, cardio, cardio...

Tina - Wow sounds like your weekend is off to a great start. complements from strangers and permission to buy clothes...hoorah!

I like what you heard about eating right 80% of the time and the rest will be okay. I seem to do great but at least one day a week I go off plan, sometimes two. Today I have eaten nothing but I have had 3 real coca-colas. I guess it works out calorie-wise, hope, hope. Mom says spaghetti and meatballs tonight but I wont have any of the pasta just the meatballs and sauce and some salad probably.

I have been home alone all day and it has been just super. I got to be naked which hardly ever happens. It felt so good I went out in the back yard and lay in my swing and sunbathed for a while...we have a 7 foot fence and our neighbors have single story houses so it is okay... didnt have to worry about my son or his wife coming over cause they are at his dad's and my parents and brother went to nasa and Webster, TX so i have had a good time. Did some laundry, washed my parent's bed clothes and made the bed. Enjoyed the cats. talked to Carolyn on the phone twice and am doing the 'net.

What a great day.

Newbeginning..... What plan are you following? I'm doing WW points. Look forward to getting to know you better. We have a great group of ladies here.

Linda...Hope your knee is feeling better. Stretching exercise should really help you. I have a Richard Simmon's "Stretching to the Classics" that I just love. The older I get the more stiff it seems I get.

Cassie...So happy to hear your little one is feeling better, but now you and the rest of the family is sick. Bummer!! Hope you all are feeling better real soon.

Tina...Yes, quilting keeps me away from the frig and pantry. My sewing room is upstairs, which is a good thing. I usually sew about 4 to 6 hours a day if I can. A husband that says SHOP! Hey girl, I'd be SHOPPING till the cows come home.

Janet...Went and saw "V for Vendetta". I really liked it. The quilt I'm making is of my own design, and is a queen size. I'm donating it to the foster organization that we belong to. They will raffle it off in Oct at the Foster Parent Conference. Once I get it done, I will take a picture of it and have my husband help me post it.

Well gals, think I'll go sew for a couple of hours.

Cheryl

V for Vendetta, had not heard of that one. I want to see the sequal to Underworld but it is not playing here anymore. Guess I'll have to wait for it to come on vid.

The quilt sounds like a wonderful charity donation! That is really great of you to donate the quilt. Do you do it annually?? I am very impressed at your skill and your generosity. Not everyone would think of doing what you are.

Good Morning . . . not as sunny today, but a little milder . . . and the knee is feeling almost normal . . . but I'm NOT going to push it today, just to be sure. Think I'll content myself with some Yoga stretching.

Garnet . . . at one with nature . . . and I thought it was great just to be able to wear a lighter coat . . . everything IS relative. I'll keep trying to remind myself this summer that it is not as hot and sticky up here as it is down there.

Cheryl . . . Ain't it the truth, everything hurts more and stiffens up more every year. I'm going to look around for that "Stretching" in DVD. I love Richard.

Have a good day, everybody. See you soon.

Yesterday was my weigh-in and I GAINED 3 pounds. Now I know there is no way in the world that it is three pounds of fat. It must be water retention. The past couple of days it seems like no matter how much I drink, I am still thirsty. I can tell that my feet and hands a slightly swollen. Don't know why I'm retaining water but I'll just keep doing what I've been doing and the number will change.

Congrats on the loss, Countess.

Liza, hang in there, kid, we'll hope to see you again soon.

Teahoney that's a good attitude. Maybe your salt consumption is up?

This is not one of my better days, either. I had a little melt-down in the middle of the night. Woke up at 3:30 with my blood sugar at a dangerously low level. After I had a little nibble to bring it back up, I just kept on eating. By 4 am, I had consumed half of my day's calories. Oh well . . . sometimes stuff just happens. The rest of the day has been going better, but obviously this will not be one of my lower-calorie days. At least the sun is shining and it's supposed to stay sunny and mild for the rest of the week.

See you soon, gang. Hope everybody else is having a good day. Keep moving and shaking in the right direction.

Cool Happy Monday!

Garnet, sounds like you had fun being by yourself this weekend. If you were a man I would say you have ba!!s of steel for going outside naked! More power to you if you're able to do that! haha

Cheryl, I would love to see a picture of your quilt too! I think it's really great that you are going to donate it. You must be quite a quilter!

Countess, congrats on your loss! Nice to see you again.

Liza, I don't know what's wrong but I hope it straightens back out for you real soon. We'll all be here when you get back.

teahoney, if you're swollen you're definitely retaining water. You're right, just keep doing what you know and it will work itself out!

Linda, I'm sorry you had a bad night but not to worry..tomorrow's a new day! Enjoy your beautiful weather!

Not much new here. It's my daughters spring break, so no school. (Who'd of thought preschoolers needed a break?!!) I'll have to take her out more this week so she doesn't get cabin fever...she loves school! We went for a walk around the neighborhood yesterday. She got to wear her new rubber boots (it's a melting pot here!), maybe I'll do that all week to keep her satisfied. Other than that...same ol' same ol'. I hope you all have a more exciting day.

ttFN!

aww thanks tina and meowee,
long story but last year i had a brief relationship with a man who turned out to not be very nice, and after we split there was months of harrassment nasty calls texts emails etc. now i havnt heard a peep outta him for a couple months now so thought it was all over and finished with but then this morning i had the child protection team on my doorstep. they said a member of the public had reported me and that i was now being investigated for mistreating or neglecting my son. i said to them, 'look there was a bloke who wos trying to cause trouble for me wos it XX who has said this about me'. all they would say was 'the name does ring a bell'. so as u can imagine with this hanging over me at the moment i have been very stressed all day and when im stressed or upset i eat! oh and im a childminder so have also lost my job as obviously i cannot look after someone elses child while under investigation.
of course the sensible thing to do would be to workout my stress on the treadmill but i just dont have the strength to do that so instead i will probably comfort eat
