  • hi ladies - just checkin in. nothing really new to report. hope you are all well
  • Hi girls.

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. I had a jump at the beginning of last week and it took me till yesterday to get rid of it. So overall, I only had a loss of 0.6 this week

However, when I look at my spreadsheet, the exact same thing happened 4 weeks ago so, although it's not TOM yet, it's still the same point in my cycle. So that could be something to do with it. Last month the bad week was followed by a loss of 3.9 lb the following week so fingers crossed.

Still, I'm still on track for my Paddy's Day goal, although I was hoping to hit it early.

I have done 8/30 DVDs of my Lent goal and I measured myself the other day and I've lost 8.25" in the last 3 weeks (over neck, bust, waist, hips, biceps, thighs and calves). So I must be doing something right!

It's snowing here!!! This is very exciting because we live by the sea and we very rarely get snow here - the salt in the air melts it! Last year we got about a cm on Xmas Day and that was it for the whole winter. We haven't had any snow at all this winter apart from the occasional flurry which didn't stick. It's not especially deep, about 6 inches with a drift of about a foot by the kitchen door. My dd came in this morning at 7am to tell me about it - LOL! So I said she could go out in it if she dressed up warm and she quickly discovered that snow is very cold! We might both go out later and make a snowman.
  • I am happy to report that I am down six pounds this week. Mostly water weight I'm sure but six pounds nonetheless. Go me!
  • Hi everybody. Yep, I'm definitely in a better mood this morning. Hope it lasts. The sun is shining and the temperature is pretty good but the wind still makes it feel pretty chilly out there. Only tiny little pockets of snow left in the yard.

Yesterday was pretty much at the top of my calorie allowance and a little too heavy on the starches, but I'm still OK on average for the week because I had 3 pretty low days earlier in the week. Hopefully, my WW (Wednesday Weigh-in) will be good to me, if I don't screw up between now and then and I keep slugging back the water. I soooo want to be able to move that stubborn little slider.

Java . . . Keep up the good work. The world would be a nicer place if everybody with your job had nothing more pressing to do that sit around watching movies all shift.

Robsia . . . Inches are much more meaningful than pounds. Enjoy the snow. Sounds like a perfect amount for building a snowman.

Tea . . . that's a great loss. Keep up the great work, girl.

See you later, gang. Keep doing the good stuff. Here's the daily dose of to help us through the day.
  • Checking in...

Robsia, a loss is a loss, no matter how big or small. We will all have weeks like this, so don't feel bad, I had a rough week too... but hey, congrats on the exercise and WTG on the loss of inches. Oh no, don't mention snow! ...at this time of year here, we're ready to be rid of it! hahaha. I love the first real snow fall, so I know how you must feel ...have fun!

Tracey, Whooo Hooo, Congrats on the loss... that is so exciting and I'm happy for you, almost as much as if it were me who lost the weight! hahaha. You go girl, and keep up the hard work!

Linda, so glad you are feeling better. Let's keep positive thoughts on that slider moving on weigh in day :

I've been keeping busy this weekend. You know, when the weather starts getting a little warmer it's time to start cleaning. Yesterday I cranked up the music and I danced and cleaned around the house for a few hours. Today I took my kids out to lunch and then we went bowling... boy I had not bowled in years. I never was a great bowler, but I always had fun, plus it's good exercise. Now, the only problem this weekend was the eating ...both today and yesterday I stayed under my calories but my choices could have been better (fast food)... the stuff is loaded with sodium so you know the water retention was noticable in my ankles this morning. I'm working on getting in plenty of water for the day.

I have to report that with this weeks fluctuations I had been down as much as 1½ lb., but this morning it was up ½ lb. so my loss for the week is 1 lb. : ...I'll take it!

Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend, I'll check back later.

  • Hello all,

I'm just checking in. My SV was only -.2 pounds this week, but I am hopeful for next week! I strained my ankle and didn't walk for a couple of days. But I'm back on the treadmill this morning and felt just fine. Have a great day!
  • Good Morning . . .

Up and at-em, gang . . . another glorious day has begun here in Atlantic Canada and I hope I can send it your way . . . oh ya . . . I send morning to you but you send weather to me. Anyway, it is sunny but windy again this morning.

Congratulations on those losses, Lois and Tricia. No matter how big or how small, any loss is worth celebrating . . . as long as it's not with food.

Drink up that morning gang and get about the morning moving and shaking. See you all later.
  • Hello everyone! I thought I better get on here and post before I fall too far behind!

Paula- I am SO happy to hear that you got good news at your appointment! Good luck selling Mary Kay, I LOVE their Journey Perfume...smell some of that for me, LOL!

Stacye- Wow, looking at your pictures, I can tell SUCH a difference! Congrats, you're doing wonderful!

Hotcupojava- Yay for your NSV's! Woo hoo!

Cheryl- Sorry you're week has been so crazy! Mine have been that way too here lately!

Meowee- I'm sorry to hear that you have been down in the dumps! I think we are all there at onepoint or another, and it's not a fun place to be! I'm glad to hear that you are now feeling better!

Robsia- Congrats on losing so many inches! I can't figure out how to accuratley measure myself...any tips?

Teahoney- CONGRATS on your loss! You're doing AWESOME!

Ladylane- Congrats on your loss for the week!

As for me, since I started WATP on Friday, I have lost.....3 lbs! Whoa! I am doing the 1 mile walk 2 times a day, and it feels wonderful! I am taking today off though, so I don't get burned out, then starting next week, I think that SUNDAYS will be my day off. I feel so good about myself now that I am exercising...what a wonderful feeling!I am being more careful about what I eat, too...things are really going great!

  • Happy Monday!
Good morning ladies! Hope you all had a good weekend! Mine was okay, totally uneventful, sorta blah-zay. But that's all I wanted was a relaxing weekend! I'm so stuck on the scale though, I haven't budged. I'm wondering if I'm hitting a plateau already, or am I getting a little less conscience (especially on the weekends). I gotta figure something out to get it moving again, or else my confidence is going to go down the toilet! I feel one foot in already!

Linda, I feel ya on the "sick of winter" blues. I heard that we're suppose to get rain next week and I'm almost dancing! I hope that will be the last of snow. It's especially hard when you go into a store and they got all spring clothes, seeds for gardening, flowers...etc!! I'm so ready, bring it on!

Countess, here's to a great report on your scales today!

Java, thanks for the compliment! What do you do for a living? (if you don't me asking, the movie watching got me curious)

Lois, thanks for the congrats! Sounds like you had a great weekend! Glad to see you had a lost even when you were retaining.

Cassie, what a relief to hear that your heart is okay. I know what a big stress that had to have been on you. The best part is you can put it behind you and start improving on you how you want to. Congrats on your loss! Keep it up girl!

Paula, I feel your excitement! I'm so glad for you and Dennie. I hope the meds start to work real fast for her. Good luck selling Mary Kay, lots of sucessful wishes sent your way!

Stayce, it's great to see you!! Tax season is awful! My hubby is an accountant so he's usually taken away from me this time of year.

Cheryl, I can't stop singing Johnny Cash!! HAHA My husband just looks at me like I've lost it! I really liked the movie too, I watched it twice before returning it. Thanks also for the compliments!

Robsia, I was wondering where you had been! Keeping a spreedsheet of your loses is great, gives you something to reference when you need it. Congrats on the inches lost and weight loss, no matter how small you think it is, it's still a negative! I'm glad someone is enjoying the snow! LOL

Teahoney, wow! Congratulations! That's the way to do it, keep it up girl!

Pattybgud, a loss is a loss, congrats! Have a great treadmillin' week!

Have a great day girls, here's to getting our butts in gear and losin' in our rears! LOL

    TTFN!
    ~Tina
  • I only have time for a quick post, I'm down 4 pounds this week, for a total of 29 pounds so far this year and 69 pounds total!!

  • Heya Girls!

Countess :: WTG on your loss this week ... 4 lbs - that's most excellent! ... and just so ya know, YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TOO!

Java :: Congrats on your NSV's ... I love those just as much as the weightloss!
WoW - I just noticed that you've lost 108 lbs ... ^5 That's incredible!! We'd love to see those pics ... have you used photobucket.com?

Lois :: I know we always want more - but a pound is a pound and I say take it with pride & a smile - you're doing GREAT!
*btw* It was gorgeous here this weekend too - I cranked up the radio and got alot of cleaning done too! lol

Meowee :: So glad to hear that you're having a better start to the week! I was a little funky this weekend too, and I'm not sure what was causing it either!

Robsia :: YaY for the snow!! I wished that we'd had more around here this winter!

Tracey :: Congrats on the loss - 6 lbs is FANTASTIC!!

Tricia :: Hey, it's a loss - right? Congrats to you! Glad your ankle is doing better!

Cassie :: Thanks so much for your compliments - they really mean so much!! And a BIG CONGRATS to you on losing 3 lbs this week WTG!!

Tina :: Oh you poor thing! I used to work for a CPA - I was always with my boss more than his wife this time of year .... ugh, and I hated it b/c he was a pain ... pain ... PAIN! lol

Congrats to everyone for your losses - you really keep me motivated!

As for me ... my loss for the week was 2 lbs!
I had to make some little meal & exercise changes last week b/c I'd plateaued the 2 weeks prior - which totally stunk - Thank goodness I'm losing again!

Oh oh oh ... I forget to tell y'all ... I joined Curves on Friday! I just felt like I wasn't getting enough with the treadmill and the elliptical here at home so I had to do something! I've had 2 workouts (Friday & this morning) and so far I really like it!
    Anyone else do Curves?

That's it for now ... be back later! *wavin*
  • Stayce, how do you change up your eating and exercising to break your plateau? I've been hovering around (-)27/29lbs. these past couple of weeks and can't seem to move further down...I'd be interested to know what you did. BTW - I used to go to Curves a couple of years ago. I loved it! I didn't renew my second yr. membership cuz I lost steam and motivation. It seemed difficult to find someone there to motivate or support you. Then again maybe it was just me, I'm rather shy beleive it or not!

Countess, congrats on that amazing loss! Way to go, exactly what I needed to hear!

    TTFN!
    ~Tina
  • teahoney - 6 lbs is fantastic!! It's always good psychologically to lose more, it's a real incentive to keep going when it slows down a little.

Lois - congrats on the pound! I know what you mean, it being disappointing, but so long as its going the right way, it's all good - right?

tricia - again, 0.2 down is better than 0.2 up - WTG!!

cassie - 3 lbs is great!! Sundays is my day off too - well, it's my ironing day. Gotta have one day off haven't we? As for tips on measuring, well, I'm not really sure. I just measure round the widest part of whatever I am measuring (i.e. thigh, bust etc), write it down and then do it again a few weeks later. You never get a totally accurate picture because you don't measure every inch of your body. If I'd measured round the belly I would have seen a BIG difference, that seems to have gone down more than anything else. But it's good to see it going down. I even lost half an inch off my neck, which surprised me - I never thought of necks as being fat. The biggest loss was surprisingly off my biceps - 1.25" each there. But my DVD has push ups as an element so levering my weight off the ground must have made a big difference there.

Tina - don't lose heart! We need you to keep us all going. That darn scale WILL begin to move again or we'll all come round and sort it out! Just keep doing what you know is right and it'll go down - I promise!!

Countess - wahoo on the 4 lbs - a fabulous loss! Well done!

Stacye - WTG on the 2 lbs! You're doing so well - LOVE, LOVE the photos!! You're looking good!

As for me - I DID IT!!!!!!!!! I finally did my whole workout without missing ANYTHING out! There was just one thing left that couldn't do and I finally managed it tonight! I am so chuffed. Weight was the same as yesterday but that's good as I usually see a spike on Mondays.

I have a theory about this. On a weekend I have a lie in and I noticed that if I get up early to use the bathroom, weigh myself, then go back to bed and weigh myself again when I eventually get up a couple of hours later, it's always less the second time. So as I lie in Sundays but get up early on Mondays for work, the scale seems to jump but in actual fact it doesn't because the time of weighing is different. I noticed when we were off school for half term there as no spike on Monday because I got up later but as soon as school began again - Monday spike! So the fact that I didn't have a spike today is good because it means I've actally lost. Does any of that make any sense or am I just waffling? Also my evening weight today was 0.6 less than my evening weight yesterday, supporting the idea that I have actually lost.

It's all irrelevant because I take Sunday's weight anyway but you know me and my little theories!

Oh I forgot to mention - I got my first non-fished for, non-family comment last Friday. A colleague at work came up to me in the staffroom and said I was looking "very slim!" Wahoo!!!!!!!! Very slim - me!!!! So that made my week.

And I hit 50,000 words on my novel!

    Ain't life great?
  • Didn't have a great weekend (well, it was but I indulged too much too often- LOL) But I got it out of my system and I'm right back on track this morning. I've already done t-tapp at 6 am and just got of the treadmill and did 2.3 miles. I need some results this week!!

WTG Staceye on the loss! You look great in your pic too

You too, COuntess! 4 lbs is awesome! And Tracey- 6?! YAY!
ANd everyone else too- I know I'm forgetting some, but there has been lots of great success here lately! Big or small- it all counts!

Robisa- my weight does that exact same thing. In fact it's doing it right now and I'm right mid-cycle so I know it's not AF...I think for me my body just has to adjust and then if I have a great week this week I should see a nice big drop. *crossing fingers*

Well, I've been up since 6 and still have too much to do before school gets out in an hour. Have a great night, all!
  • Robsia...WOW! 8 1/4 inches lost is amazing. I so wish I would of taken my measurements at the start. 0.6 loss is good in my book, still a loss and better than a gain. Did you and DD make a snowman?

    Teahoney... 6 lbs That's fantastic!!!

Linda...Glad you are having a better day.

Lois...WTG on the 1 lb loss.

    Countess... 4 lbs That's awesome!!!

Cassie... 3 lbs That's just super!!! WTG on doing WATP twice a day.

Tricia...Sorry to hear you sprained your ankle. Hope you are up and about real soon. Yeah on 0.2 lb loss. I know you don't think it's much, but any loss
    should be celebrated.

Tina...Get that foot out of the toilet and both feet on the treadmill!! You have done AWESOME, and it will come off. Remember, it takes longer to loose the weight than it took to put it on.

Stacey.. 2 lbs WTG!! You have been doing fantastic!!

Pattybud...Hey! a loss is a loss. Just keep at it

Well gang, I'm so happy to report a 2 lb loss. I'm so excited that I met my St Paddy's goal early. I can't wait to see what I weigh on the 17th!

Here's the fatty fat gone dance for all of us!

I'll try to check back later. Group
