"Every-Day" 21-Day Challenge -- Counting the days to victory!!

Okay, everyone, as is the tradition, I start a new thread when I personally start a new challenge.

Below is a short explanation of how this challenge works so all you newcomers can take a look and decide if you're game or not! I hope you are! Hop aboard and enjoy the ride. We've got a great bunch of supportive people, so I hope you'll give us a try. A lot of people try for a while and then disappear.. I hope some of you will keep trying. There is NO shame in starting over. Remember, it's not over till you give up. And our motto around here is:

NEVER GIVE UP!!...Just start OVER!!

EXPLANATION AND RULES:

It works like this: you decide you'll do something for 21 days straight, every single day, so keep it doable. Then you count ....one through 21.....and if you flub it, you MUST go back to zero and start over again. Everyone will be on different days. You can start anytime. At the beginning of the challenge you declare what level it is -- Level 1, 2, or 3. Level 1 means you feel it's a relatively easy challenge for you and means you only give yourself ONE pause day (see explanation of pause days below). Level 2 would give you two pause days and so on...

With a pause day you pause in your counting and continue the next day with the number you left off with. Pause days are NOT substitutes for days, i.e. Day 12 -- Day 13 -- Pause Day -- Day 14..... I suggest taking a pause day late in the game (better to go back to Day 1 early on) if you need a break or screw up when you're well into the challenge, meaning, when you're on Day 15 or something like that.

In any case, the trick is to keep going. The momentum builds and it's great incentive to stick to your guns, cause if you don't.........back to START you go. :( And the really great thing about this challenge is that you are forming new habits that will wipe out the old! AND, you get to do it with a great bunch of really supportive people to whom you are accountable! :grouphug:

THREAD GUIDELINES:

In the interest of maintaining structure, a sense of solidarity and facilitating support I ask anyone who wishes to join this thread to please strive to follow the following guidelines while participating in this challenge and in posting.

1. Although this is a fabulous support group, the focus is to be on your CHALLENGE/S and/or other people's challenge/s AND weight loss, whether your challenge is about it or not. Please keep the challenge a priority, although we welcome chattiness! This means tell us what day you're on when you post and it's a good idea to make regular mention of just what your challenge is. This an action-based thread. Our members are ON a challenge, RESTARTING a challenge, or just in between and looking to start up again REAL SOON. ;) We also welcome posts from admirers, encouragers, and old friends!

2. Please refrain from posting food logs or recipes, except where you are really looking for help and advice on your eating. If journaling is your challenge, please keep the journaling off the thread and in a notebook or blog and just tell us if you've done what you set out to do. We have ALL types of dieters here, low-carb, high-carb, low-fat, high-fat, vegetarians, meat-lovers...please use simple mentions if you have something you want to share and then links and/or private messages to do so.

3. Please do NOT go into glowing accounts of any slipups, food indulgences or binges, what we here call "food porn." Simple mentions are fine, but use of smilies :censored: :tape: etc. as substitutes where possible is encouraged.

4. Please keep this a nonsecular thread. Of course, passing references to your beliefs, a bit of introduction about your beliefs, brief faith-related words of encouragement are fine.

5. Please show support, support, support! This is key. :grouphug: You can waffle on about yourself but please, at least occasionally, come up and look around at others and what they are doing and MENTION it with words of encouragement and/or praise or sympathy. We understand "busy," poor computer connections, and bouts of self-pity and life problems where the focus turns to "me" and dealing with those problems, but these should be temporary, not a habit! ('cept in the computer case.)

In conclusion, let me say, the above are just that, GUIDELINES. Please realize that these guidelines have been added in an attempt to keep this a supportive and beneficial thread, at the LEAST, to those who need it MOST, those for whom weight loss is the hardest and, more often than not, the most crucial as well as for those who still, perhaps despite great success, know all too well that the road they walk will always be a slippery one. :^:

The guidelines are also meant to cultivate an atmosphere of consideration and concern for ALL, not individually, but AS A GROUP.

Well, all's said. Please join us!!

redballoon 02-19-2006 06:48 PM

Ok, people, there we go with the new thread. The guidelines are just that and there really is no difference from before. I just thought we should get it out there so we don't have any surprises along the way.

I'm still not decided on my new challenges... ;) but they are likely to be similar to last time, if not the same. :sunny:

Hope to see you all here real soon! noodle! :welcome:

Danzer5570 02-19-2006 07:02 PM

Hi! I've lurked around your old thread before, and I think it'd be a good time to start my own 21-day challenge! It seems a lot of you here have had good success with this, so I'll give it a try! I'm still kinda brainstorming about some challenges, but here are a couple I think I'll do...

1.) No pop (level 3...i'm addicted to mountain dew)
2.) Eat 2 fruits/veggies every day (level 1)

And then I also have a question. I want to do a challenge that goes along with my workout plan...and I have 1 day off each week. Do we count that day off as a day or a pause day? Thanks in advance!

I'm so excited about this, and I look forward to meeting all of you! :carrot:

curlylocks 02-19-2006 07:21 PM

Day 3 below 60 carbs challenge- level 2

55 total carbs for today!

How are all the challengers doing today?

redballoon 02-19-2006 07:23 PM

Hi Danzer! :welcome3: Your challenges sound great and we look forward to having you with us. Yes, workout programs don't work well with this "Every-Day" Challenge because it is supposed to be just that, something you do every day. However, if you think you can do it, you could take your pause days...it would just be tough to finish I suppose. Another suggestion would be to make the challenge parameters are bit vaguer, such as "exercising every day" and then allowing your "exercise" on your workout off days to be something else, something gentler, such as walking or a relaxing yoga session. Whaddya think? :flow1:

Sushi Penguin 02-19-2006 07:29 PM

Just so I can sign up and get emails with new posts... :)

Today is Day 20 of my running challenge. :)
The challenge continues till the end of February so that I can continue working towards my 500 minutes of running goal, but I'll start a new count on Feb 22nd.
And I want to start another challenge now that I work and commute won't eat up 12-13 hours each day.

And as I stated on the old thread, tomorrow is my last day of regular computer & internet access. My current job ends so no access at work and the person whose computer I'm using at home is away until March 8th. So only the library between now and then. Things should get better between March 8th and 20th, but then I'm going on a trip until mid-April, so I'll be totally offline. However, I'm intending to continue with 21-day challenges, and I'll try to report how I'm doing at least once per week.

redballoon 02-19-2006 07:30 PM

Curly! You posted while I was. Running late here but just wanted to say, YOU ROCK!! How do you do it?!?!!? :dancer:

Sushi -- wow, a sudden flurry of action. Had to pop back in and edit for you so you wouldn't feel left out! You are doing great as well...what are we going to do without you when you're off on disconnect?! :(

Danzer5570 02-19-2006 08:37 PM

red - thanks for the suggestions! I think I'll use the your suggestion of doing some kind of really light cardio on my "off" days. So my third challenge will be to exercise every day, and I think I'll put it as a level 3. Thanks again! :D

curlylocks 02-19-2006 09:34 PM

haha Red its been much easier with the stomach bug...

Welcome to the group Danzer!

carla49 02-19-2006 09:46 PM

Day 18 completed on the no-wine challenge. Only 3 days to go!

Curly, I love the new avatar. Much curlier... must be the lack of carbs in your diet.

Danzer, :welcome2: to the nut farm. ;)

Not feeling chatty tonight. Better tomorrow.

curlylocks 02-19-2006 09:48 PM

hehe must be the carbs... cuz its sure not the humidity.. it was 2 degrees here this morning! that was a good one carla!

Trixie14 02-19-2006 10:26 PM

Hello everyone!

I've seen this thread a few times before and always thought it was a neat idea, I'd like to join! I'm not too sure what my 21 day challenge would be though! So I think Im going to sleep on it and post tomorrow when I come up with something! :)

BTW you all seem to be doing great so far!

es_angel 02-20-2006 12:31 AM

I would like to say :wel3fc: and :goodluck: to Danzer and Trixie.

My Challenges are:
LVL 1- To not eat chips.
LVL 2- Drink 8 glasses of water.
LVL 3- Walk before every shower no matter how early or late in the day it is.
I am on day 6 of my challenges and they are going very well.

My first week of a new healthy lifestyle is over and I am proud to report that I am down 7lbs:carrot:

girlieyorkie 02-20-2006 06:25 AM

Hi everyone:wave:

Thanks for starting this new thread Red, I've been waiting for it.

I've been following this thread for sometime now, and I think it's great. You're a great bunch, very supportive and all. And Red is just wonderful, not everyone who starts a thread checks in as often, nor put so much effort into it as she does.

I soooo much want to give this challenge a shot.

So here goes:
level1~ no diet soda
level2~ exercise at least 30mins. daily
level3~ no red meat

And for the record, I'm starting today.:crossed:

Have a great day everyone.

redballoon 02-20-2006 06:36 AM

humming a sad, sad song...

Hi all. Still in between challenges. Just have too many problems to do with now. Nothing really to deal with....just don't know what to do...so I'm feeling very, very deflated and despairing...just like the balloon in my new avatar. :)

Still, life goes on...let's hope...and challenges can be done in any case, so I will start up very soon.

JCT -- Glad you got that great photo of you and the kids in your avatar. It is such an adorable shot! :dizzy: You're very welcome for the new thread. Was late to work this morning after I fiddled with it (the new thread) here at home too much and recently my browser keeps crashing. :stress: So, tell me, JCT, what ARE your challenges?!?! :dunno: or did I miss something?

angel -- There you are! I was wondering. Excellent job..kind of a stealth, but... :s:

Trixie -- Well, I do hope you'll join us after thinking up a challenge. Remember, although you see old hands and showoffs ;) here with their superduper triple, quadruple multifaceted challenges, a good old plain simple challenge is fine! Don't be shy. Anything is fine.

curly -- Yes, cute avatar. Is this the new you?

carla -- "nut farm"....!?!?!?! excuse me? Could you be referring to any of us??! :?: No, I don't think so. :nono:

pssst...heh, carla....don't scare them away, will ya, they'll find out soon enough, but then be so far along in their challenges, they'll have to stay and put up with us and.....

Danzer -- Ok, so you're decided. Good! Did you make it through Day 1 yet? :listen:

girlie -- Oh, thank you! What a sweetie! I'm glad you like the thread. I fear though that carla may have been referring to me with her earlier, rather irreverent but perhaps wholly relevant comment  .......nah! :p
Well, I'm glad you're back with us. Didn't you start once before or were you just checking in? No soda, no red meat (hurrah! a budding fellow veghead?!) AND exercise every day sounds tough. Good luck and I hope to hear lots from you! :goodluck:

Well, it's off to bed for me. I am tired, a bit too many apres race beers last night....all free though..cat climbing the curtains now....talk about nuts!

:kickcan:

jollygirl 02-20-2006 07:55 AM

Hey all. Welcome to all the new voices. Red - find your challenges, girl! You can do it! I hope things smooth out for you soon, though. Thanks for starting the new thread. Congrats to everyone else on their hard work.

I am limping through the last days of my challenges. Day 15 of the no soda challenge, Day 14 of following the menu. As I was afraid, pause days just spawned more :( Did get some motivation in that the Self challenge started today too. Sooooo. Will finish this challenge.

I even already have my next challenges in the chute and ready to go. Though, does anyone know where I can find a good calorie counter? Book, please, as I don't like wasting time trying to get everything entered right on-line. I have bought a new food scale and measuring cups.

I will try to post more later, so have a great day all.

es_angel 02-20-2006 11:09 AM

Hi all

JCT - Thanks. Now that all the junk is out my system I should start losing weight at a normal and healthy pace (1-2lbs/week).

Girlieyorkie - I would like to :welcome: you. Your challenges look great. I look forward to hearing more about you.

Red - I wanted to wait till after my WI before I posted. A week is too long so i'm going to try to post on here everyother day.

Jolly - You are so close to the end. You can do it!!!:dust: :cheer: As for the calorie counter, alot of my friends have found the Dr. Phil food guide very helpful.

I'm off to do some homework :fr: Have a great day

curlylocks 02-20-2006 11:29 AM

was playing with some graphics this morning red ...

carla49 02-20-2006 02:01 PM

I vote for the balloon on the left. (Red would need kitties, not a bear holding her balloons. Or maybe a horse.) But not until she's ready to be re-inflated!

JCT Mom of 3 02-20-2006 02:50 PM

Greetings from a Fatchick FLYbaby.... sheesh!

Hey girls....

:welcome2:Yorkie!!!!! I know you were here before but I just thought I'd give you my official "hey... how ya doin'?!" (feeling a bit like that nutty fish in Nemo's tank now... I think her name is Flo?) I admire your challenges girl... but no diet soda?!??! Whatever will you drink??? You won't have to go and do one of those No beer ones like some of our friends here would you???? LOL ;) Also, I must say i agree with you, Red is way awesome... she is a motivator beyond any I have met. What ever would we do without our fearless :drill:??

Red, dahling, don't be down...:( It's time you looked up and saw how much good you are doing... for yourself and others. I would have totally lost hope last month if it hadn't been for your Kicks in my seat!;) Even if the new Avatar is cute... I don't want to see it up for long... do you hear me Missy?!?! Don't make me get out my Momma Voice...:nono: :balloons:

Thanks for suggesting the pic... I like it too... aren't my kids adorable?:p As for the challenges... well I am going to have to add the H2O one again... I think only at a L1. Then I am going to do exercise.... hmmm... no time limit... jsut every SINGLE day for now (L3). And...food/Flexpoint journaling (L1). I think that should keep me busy... OOOH... and one "non-weight" challenge... Shine My sink EVERYDAY! (L2) DANG! that's FOUR challenges this time... ok... I need to write those down on a sticky....

Jolly- HEY GIRL! how's that knee???? What is the Self challenge??? did I miss something??? (wouldn't be surprised if I did... sheesh I'm a flake!!!!) Well anyway, I want to say WTG!!!! :cheer: on your More-than-half-finished Challenges!!!!!!!!! You GO GIRL!!!!! :halffull :bravo: As for the calorie book.... i had to buy one as a required text for a health class i took last year... stupid thing... we didn't even open the damn thing. Anyway... I will look for it and perhaps i could mail it to you? PM me and let me know. Do you like your food scale? I have seen them but never used one.

Curly- CUUUTE graphics!!!! Can ya make one for me... A lady with frazzled hair... mis-matched pajammas... and three babies hanging off of her????? LOL I tell ya that's how I feel somedays... I just hope FLYLady can kick me into gear with my house like :drill: Red has done for my weight!!!!! ;) What program are you using?

Trixie... have you decided on any challenges yet???? here's a jumpstart for ya!!! :cheer::carrot::carrot::cheer:

Sushi- have you left us now??? Do we get to say goodbye before you sign off for a week or more???? Keep up the great work girl!!!!! :cb:

Carla, Danzer, Angel...everyone from before.... how's it going???? GOODLUCK ALL!!!!!

I'm off to a 15minute fling! Takce care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apple Blossom 02-20-2006 03:07 PM

Just a quick post, I feel bad that I don't have a lot of time to catch up, but I'm thinking of all of you!!
I had to take a pause day so I've completed 3 days of exercise. I'm starting a new challenge too, no Goldfish. My kids are addicted to them and I always munch a few whenever I serve them. Those calories add up!! I guess that will be a level 2 also.
Red, that deflated balloon with the guilty looking turkey has got to go!! SOON!:coach:

Rosario 02-20-2006 04:49 PM

This sounds like fun and a great motivator. If I'm welcome, I'd love to join.

Level 1-no chocolate ( I love chocolate!!!!)
Level 2- excercise at least 30 minute every day.
Level 3-no more reg. soda ( i love me some Coke!!!)

Good luck to everyone beginning their 21 days and awesome job to those on their way to success!!!

carla49 02-20-2006 05:22 PM

Rosario, of course you're welcome to join, the more the merrier. :welcome3:

Something I've noticed with a few of our new members: many of you choose one challenge at each of the three levels. There's nothing wrong with that, but I wanted to make sure you know that you can have all 3 at whatever level you want. So if there are 3 hard challenges, they can all be level 3, or level 2, or any combo you want. And you can have one, two or however many challenges you can or want to handle.

Apple, you have a vivid imagination. Guilty looking turkey? Is that really what it is?

Today is Day 19 complete. (Dead silence on any renewal of the no sweets challenge...) :o

Good luck all, we'll try not to drive you to drink.

Trixie14 02-20-2006 05:33 PM

Ok so I think Im going to start with something easy, and that will be no pop. I will see how this goes and then maybe if I can do this one I will do something harder next time.

So my 21 day challenge is NO POP! :)

Again thanks for all the welcome's everyone! :) Your all doing great! I hope I can stick to this challenge for 21 days! It shouldn't be too bad..

curlylocks 02-20-2006 05:58 PM

ES: Housework :yikes:

Yorkie: Good Luck with your challenges... "You can do it!!! ( {uggh i gotta stop doing that tony little video}

JCT: Cute pic!... I will get to work on your request... i use paint shop pro

Appple: yep those fishes would b in danger at my house too!

Rosario & Trixie: Welcome to the group
Where is our CBEtA??

Day 4 of the carb challenge is completed with "57 total carbs"

Danzer5570 02-20-2006 06:31 PM

Hey all! Day 1 completed for all three challenges! It was so hard to resist the pop vending machines, but I did it! I had some tea this morning and brought it to school so that helped. I'm about to go work out now, so that will be completed shortly. Haven't had any fruits or vegetables yet, but will be having them with dinner!

Thank you for all the welcomes!! I'm excited about this group...seems like a great group! I wish I had time to respond to what everyone said, but I'll do that some other time. Have a good night everyone!

JCT Mom of 3 02-20-2006 08:01 PM

hey all... i have a quick question.... it's not a diet related one... but you girls are the only ones I could think of that would know anything... I hope! LOL

I am having to set up my new computer and I have a cable modem... I never set it up myself on this PC... so i don't know exactly what to do.... I want to be able to get online to you all tonight and I am concerned.... do i just pop the disc from the modem in and go??? is there anything special I need to have in order to get online after I set up the modem???? I have Comcast Highspeed if that helps... I guess I can call Comcast if no one knows... but I don't have a phone that works well.... only has speaker and can't dial very well... stupid thing! Anyway... i will be leaving this PC up as I have two modems... but if you have any advice please PM me!!!! THANKS LADIES!!!!!!

tiajuanna 02-20-2006 08:20 PM

Hey Guys,
We are back from the hospital and the kids are doing well. I was planning on starting with my challenges today but it didn't work out the way I had planned so I will start again tomorrow.
Curly, what have you been up to in the low carbing world? What exercises do you do? What did you eat today, send it to me privately. I haven't been taking my anxiety medicines right and have been snacking quite bit because of anxiousness but I will get there. Hey Red. Hey CBETA. Hey
JCT... Welcome newcomers, this a great group. Kisses to you all. Tia

jollygirl 02-20-2006 08:25 PM

Hey all. And welcome to more newbies.

Thanks for all the kind words, ladies. I must have been feeling the willpower dust being sent my way, as I pulled the day out of the dumpster. Yeah!

Rosario, I will look to you to lead the way. I too LOVE chocolate. I use a lot of low fat sugar free substitutes to get me through, but I will be starting a no chocolate challenge soon. Yikes.

JCT - I haven't started using the scale yet. My next challenge is going to be to start measuring and counting. I need to get the portion size thing under control. So . . . In 7 more days??? Oh yeah, and the Self Challenge is put on by Self magazine each year. Decided to try that too.

Sorry so short on time, guys. Will try to get better. Have a great night all.

lessthansign3 02-20-2006 09:16 PM

Challenges are always good!! Here are mine:
Level One - To do something happy/relaxing everyday (for someone suffering from anxiety, this really helps with weight loss!!)
Level Two - To exercise at least 30 minutes everyday.
Level Three - To play with my hamster more!
Sure, the last isn't diet related, but I sometimes go a couple days without checking on him much because he lives in the basement to stay away from the dog and I don't go there much!!

Sushi Penguin 02-20-2006 10:22 PM

I've had 3FC up since the morning, and no time to post.... here's the last-chance, last-minute post before I can't access the net. :)

Day 20 of running done yesterday, just 18 minutes but that was all I had time for. Had to fit a 60-min drive home, changing, dinner, walk, run and 15 min drive to yoga in the 2 hours between 5 and 7 pm.

I was going to start a new challenge today - a food diary - but my co-workers prepared a treat for everyone. It's not stuff I normally eat and I'm not too sure how to work out the quantities, so it would not be a good day to start. Don't want to get frustrated the very first day.

Welcome freedom tomorrow!!! No more work, no more commuting. And hopefully that'll mean both skating and tennis later in the week. :)

Good luck everyone :grouphug: I'll drop by in a few days :)

redballoon 02-21-2006 07:18 AM

song is better...

Hi all. Thought I better get a post in today, though I still haven't started my challenges. I am in between and giving myself a bit of time off. Don't worry! I will be with you soon enough. I just wanted to get the thread up for you!

And, I can't believe you don't like my avatar photo! This is me, floating quietly behind my horse!! Apple! It's NOT a turkey! :stress: I very much like this picture as it is totally me, deflated YET buoyant, punched around by life's knocks YET still floating, being formless (now, that's REALLY me!!) YET bright and loud and high-profile.

So, don't you all mind my new ballon. I have many of them and this is just the me out there now. But it's not a bad one, NOT negative at all! You crack me up. :dizzy: But thanks for your concern. Lord knows I can use me some of that! That reminds me of a little thing I remember when I first lived in India. I was in the country, no water but a well, electricity was iffy. It would go out at different times of the day for hours on end. Everytime it would go out the people I was staying with would look up and quietly say "Lord Sharin." I would think, cool, he must be the god of fate or something, putting up with hardship, don't get upset or swear or bothered, just accept it and carry on....it wasn't for quite a while that I realized what they were actually saying was "load sharing," which is what the country did to give various areas all a bit of electricity during the day, spread it around and "share the load!" I liked my version better. Anyhow, you can see I am babbling although it is bedtime and I am caffeineless. Fatigue I think. Always good entertainment...

Soosh -- Looks like you are probably finishing up your challenge in silence today. I will wait to hear it from you on your next post to congratulate you! You sure sounded busy. Hope the freedom is well enjoyed. Skating! Tennis! Hoorah! :dancer:

less -- :welcome: Now, I suppose I didn't actually specify that challenges had to be weight loss related, even if it was a stretch...but playing with your hamster?!?! :?: I am baffled beyond words...almost. Now, I suppose that not taking care of your hamster...you ARE feeding the poor thing, aren't you? and giving it water? and cleaning its cage??!....I suppose that not playing with it is stressing you out and you are overeating...is that right? Okay, maybe you better not answer that...good luck!

jolly -- Yo joll!! You're rockin'! You keep out of that dumpster. Nothing good down there anyhow. As for me, I despise chocolate. I think it's the grossest stuff to have ever been invented. ;) Really, really don't know what all the fuss is about. Now, when I get a craving for something, it's usually celery or radishes. Oh, yum! ....now if you believe that..... :lol3: How is your challenge, jolly? You still hanging in there? I always liked this book...Barbara something I think it was...big thick calorie counter...guide to brand-names or something...check on amazon, they probably still put it out.

tia -- Hello! So glad to see you're back and that the kids are OK! Missed you lots! You get back here with us soon, ok?! :flow1:

Danzer -- Excellent! :bravo: All three challenges! You put me to shame!! Keep that challenge ship flying!

curly -- Wow. colors! Beautiful! No, I'm ok with the rent free stuff these days. Other, real problems wrecking havoc...but I'll be okay. Thanks though. I will remember your saying when I AM doing that and though it's MUCH, MUCH less than earlier, I still do it occasionally. Thanks for the balloon. It's nice and pumped but I like to keep my byline off things. Thank you though, I may use it on my computer at home...yes, the left one...I live in the Land of Cute and I have reached saturation point....you wouldn't believe it. I used to sleep with about 50 stuffed animals when I was a kid, but I couldn't stand to have one around now....but do have four REAL cats sleeping with me now... :cp: A big hand for your Day 4 done! Stellar!

Trixie -- Ok, no pop it is! Good luck. You can do it. What level are you making this?

carla -- Congrats on Day 19. Almost there! :cheer: Thank you for mentioning the level thing. I was wondering about it too. Perhaps the "levels" have been misinterpreted. Heh, what's wrong with being driven to drink?!...I mean, it's better than having to try to walk or take the bus, right?!

Rosario -- :welcome3: Ditto my chocolate response to jolly. And no more swarming gushy stuff about your choco and coke! :nono: CBETA will teach you how to do it...out! out! banished from sight and mind! You HATE the stuff! :barf: No really. Good luck!

Ap -- Good to see you! I was hoping we hadn't lost you. Now we got hamsters in the cellar and you scooping out the goldfish? Wow. You know they pop 'em down live here too! :sumo:

JCT -- I like my avatar but I don't want you to get out your Momma Voice!  Yes, your chilluns are adorable!! You're taking on a whole lot this time...and it's about time! I want to see great things out of you, girl! :flame:

angel -- another colorful one! :) Glad to see you'll be popping in more often! Tell me, homework? are you still in school? college?

Good night all! I got a call to go in to work tomorrow and jumped at the chance for the extra shift...but, that means that I should get to the gym early....wish me luck!

Good morning all. Day 2 of vacation here. Of course, I still have to go in to work for a meeting, and I get part one of a root canal today. How much fun can a girl have? Of course, with the teeth thing, overeating should NOT be an issue.

Red - like the avatar. I will check out Amazon too for books. I want to keep moving forward, even though taking those pause days has really slowed my progress.

I really think i will need to limit the "healthy" sugar free :censored: substitutes. While they themselves are healthy, it keeps me craving the real thing.

Everyone else, I will check back in later, and see if I met my challenges for the day. Hope to hear from you all too

Trixie - No pop challenge sounds good. I think i'm gonna take that one next time around.

Less - :welcome: Good luck with your challenges. Especially with the hamster one. Hamsters need love too.

Red - Yup homework:fr: I go to college part time.

Jolly - Good luck at the dentist:hug:, Lord knows I hate them.

Well i'm off to take my dog for a walk. Cya Later:angel:

but I thought it was a turkey too????

Carla insisted that I return....tail between my legs....she's a slave-driver!

Day 1--exercise level 1

13 mins. of interval training, sigh!

Apple Blossom 02-21-2006 12:34 PM

HI! Day 4 on exercise is done. Already I have to restart the goldfish (feeders are real cheap at the pet store:lol: )challenge. I had a tiny bit leftover from our road trip Saturday and rather than throw them out I ate them with out thinking. Mindless consumption.:nono: So I will also start a new beer challenge today.
Red, thanks for posting an explanation of your avatar. I understand now. Although I still see a crazy looking bird. Maybe I need to go to the eye doctor...Do you have a challenge yet? I don't think you've posted one yet, unless I missed something.
Sushi, I am awaiting news of your running challenge completed!!:cp: :cp: :cp:
Lessthan- I like your hamster challenge! Just run up and down the stairs a few extra times and it's exercise too! I should start a dog walk challenge, more for them than for me. The old one doesn't get out much...
Hi JCT! You have a beautiful family!!
Welcome and hello to everyone else! I have a baby with a yucky nose to take care of ! Bye!

marbleflys 02-21-2006 12:46 PM

jen1121 02-21-2006 02:40 PM

Hey everyone! Today is my day one on the 21 day plan! I had such a good post that I had worked up yesterday, but it got deleted, so just letting you all know.. I'm up for the challenge!!!!! :cheer: Here are my 3 levels:
Level 1- No non-diet soda
Level 2- No candy or desserts
Level 3- No eating after 8pm... geez that will be hard for me :) :) :)

I hope all you are doing great, it really looks like you all are!!
I look forward to keeping in touch with all of you!

Sincerely,
Jen

February 21, 2006- Day 1

redballoon 02-21-2006 04:10 PM

Good morning. Am waking up here, Wednesday...going to get this butt to the gym. Do not feel good though. Not much sleep because of crazy cats. Now they are sleeping..

jen -- Welcome. Your challenges sound hard. I am wondering, like carla mentioned, if you perhaps think you HAVE to have three? Yes? No? The levels are what you decide and they are about difficulty. The challenge is not supposed to be a multi-element thing, although it can be if you like. Maybe you understand this. I am just wondering because you said "here are my 3 levels" and it sounded like you thought you had to have them. Well, good luck!

marble -- You've been away so long you haven't seen the changes on 3fc I guess! Trackers now only show up for the first post of a page. Unless you're talking about the "X" under your one tracker (at least that's what I see). That could be an old tracker. A lot of them don't work anymore and you have to make new ones. Well, I don't know how you people see turkeys in these things. Long nose, ears, eyelashes...I will have to post a turkey picture...now, the beast in the avatar could be a Great Dane...I'll give you that. I saw one here yesterday. It was huge! Talked with the owner. They are my state dog. Anyhow, marble, I am glad to see you back and that carla is on your case!

Apple -- No, I don't have a challenge yet. I am taking time off but wanted to be here for the rest of you. The last thing on my mind right now is challenges and I really would not be here at all if it weren't for keeping the thread going. Things are busy..a lot of stuff going down...I just don't talk about it here...but will be doing something real soon! ;) Good going on the exercise! :cp: Goldfish and beer. Sound like they go hand in hand. :goodluck:

angel -- Hi there! How are your challenges going or did you just pop in to say heh?

jolly -- Root canals are a blast! You lucky duck! I agree with the sugar subs keeping you hooked. That's why my no-sugar challenges don't allow them. Then again, there aren't many here and I won't eat aspartame and its mate, acesulfame or whatever it is. Too much bad reviews about the stuff. Glad you like my avatar!
