Quick good morning as I head out for the day. Yesterday, day 2 on all three challenges - met. Though it was a close save. Was getting ready for bed, and realized I needed one more fruit serving :) Sugar free applesauce - to the rescue.
Good to see you back, JCT, and too bad on the teething. I had a broken piece of tooth work its way out a few years back after my wisdom teeth were removed, and boy can I feel your little one's pain. Red, Fish, Joy, Curly - glad to see you made your challenges for the day. Sushi - hope you are feeling better about things soon. Hopefullly things will work themselves out. Have a great day all  |
Days 16 done
exercise = 40 minutes walking; calories = 1380.
It is sunny today, but so, so, cold. Sushi, I'm sorry that your week has been so rough. I hope everything gets better soon for you. It's hard to stay focused when nothing seems to be going right. JCT - welcome back, and good luck on your weigh-in. Gotta go! But hello to everyone and have a great weekend! |
Hello Ladies
Sorry for not posting in a week or so. Seems like it's been forever. I would like to give congrats to those of you that have completed your challenge/s and to those who have lost some weight. I would also like to welcome all the newbies and wish them goodluck.
I am on day 17 for my 3 challenges and I have not taken any pause days. My Challenges are: LVL 1- To not eat chips. LVL 2- Drink 8 glasses of water. LVL 3- Walk before every shower no matter how early or late in the day it is. Last week I lost 2 lbs, which brings my weight down to 236 with a total loss of 9 lbs. My weigh in is Sunday so I will post an update then. Goodluck & see you soon:hug: |
Es angel!! Way to go!! I'm sure you will meet your short term goal no problem!!:cp:
Nice to here from you too, JCT. It's really hard to fit exercise in with a whole pack of kids around, isn't it? Although I would prefer a long work out (even if its just a walk) sometimes I just take 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there. It still counts! Jolly, sounds like things are clicking for you!! Keep up the momentum!! Sushi, I hope you week ends on a good note!! Fish, have a great week-end with your hubby!;) I'm off to the big city (SF, not Sac) for a night on the town with a friend of mine. This happens maybe once a year, so I'm excited!!:hat: |
Day #4
one set of 9 and one set of 7 push-ups...do I get extra points for doing this with a HUGE WHOPPER OF A HANG-OVER??? |
Hi Ladies, I am on day four of my water challenge, I think.I am on day 2 of two stealth challenges. Say a little prayer for me. I love that song.
|
I'm doing the happy dance!!!!!
:dancer: OH yeah... I am down to 207!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah baby!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've lost 6lbs. I really don't think I will be able to get down to my mini-goal before my son's FIRST birthday on Monday... but I am ok with that. I will be enjoying his special day anyway! :hb:
On a fun note.... my son took his first steps last night!!!!! HEE HEEE "step, step" right to Momma's arms! :D Thanks Jolly, Apple, and Fish for the welcome back!!!! I am glad to be here!!!! Life is going well, and Fish I agree... exercise is so hard with a gaggle of giggling (sometimes arguing) girls and a baby in tow. But I am taking your advice and as soon as I get through all of my email... I will be taking my kids out for a walk. Take care all!!!!! :grouphug: |
Good morning, all. I'm very late already, just wanted to say I did the crunches yesterday early at the gym before work, so another day done!
I've read all your posts. Thank you for writing! Sorry I can't comment now, but will try to get caught up real soon. Sushi, what's wrong? I hope things get better for you, in any case. I certainly know what it's like when everything but the weight loss is screaming for attention and bringing you down. Hang in there! |
Way to go JCT! Sushi hope u are feeling better soon!
good going with the crunches red! Tia hang in there! Best wishes to all challengers!!! day 14 carb challenge 34 carbs |
Hello everybody  Sounds like it was an awesome day for challenges for everybody. Hurray on the weight loss, JCT.
Day 3, all 3 challenges - met. It is funny, in a good way - I am not even putting a limit on my calories at this point. The "challenge" is just to start paying more attention to them. But the simple act of looking up the portion sizes and the calories, is making me limit them. And I now am REALLY noticing the physical side effects if I do eat too much of things. Hey, finally listening to my body. what a strange and novel concept. See you all tomorrow. |
Day 4 for me completed!!!
|
Hey all. I have some bad news. :( I've been doing really bad...not just with the challenge, just overall dieting. I'm working on it though. I've just been stressed out with school, my relationship, friends, and just about everything else. I can't seem to find time to keep up with my diet. But I'm working on it. This weekend I'll be focusing on what my goals are and my workout plan, etc. I'm going to change my 21-day challenges to something a little more easy for me...as those three were a little too much to take on for me as a first challenge. I'll update ya'll on what i come up with. Until then...lots of hugs, and keep up the great work.
|
I've completed my first week of at least 8 glasses and day and under 2,000 calories. Yea!!!
|
Day #5
one set of 10 push-ups one set of 7 push-ups and 16 mins. of interval training! and the best part? I am wearing a pair of jeans today (slim-cut size 10 levis) that I couldn't get over my thighs last year!!!! a couple of months ago they went up but wouldn't button, today they look decent! |
Hi Heather... well there is GOOD news and that is that you CAME here and posted!! That's a great start to getting back on track! Hey we ALL fall off the wagon at one time or another... here we all are tugging you back up onto the hayload LOL. :gossip:
|
Day 8 is done. Had to go back and figure out what day it was. So, today, Sunday, is Day 9 and, as I've just gotten up, I still have the crunches ahead of me. Did them last night right before bed. Two pauses left. I would never do these consistently if I hadn't committed to this challenge. I guess it's a good thing....
marble -- You're doing well! How did you get so far along? It seems like just yesterday and you were starting out! I take it you're feeling better, that the stomach problems and queaziness are gone? Slimcut size 10s?!?! Damn! I am jealous! Just what have you NOT been eating? How much more are you aiming to lose? What size clothes is your goal? Oh, and yes, I mean, no, no extra points for the work with a hangover! :nono: ....you brought it on yourself! :lol3: kary -- :cp: Danzer -- I'm right there with you on all the life problems. Dieting is not something I can take right now. But I am allowing those goals to be put on the back burner, NOT taken OFF the stove, however, and yes, I too should be looking at just what I CAN do right now, even if it means just not gaining weight. Maybe you can do that too. I think you're right on track with making your challenges a bit easier. That's what I did, cutting back to only the crunches. Believe me, "easy" is a very relative concept. It is not really easy to get the crunches done either. Yes, actually, getting down and doing them is easy, but getting down to them is not. We have to adjust to our strengths of the time. Good luck! dance -- :bravo: Great work on getting through Day 4!! jolly -- Good going on Day 3 down. :woo: I like what you're doing with the attention to what you're eating. Awareness is everything, I think. If you're aware, you are most of the way there! Keep it up! curly -- :woo: Only a week to go! Do you notice any effect of having limited your carbs so much? JCT -- That is great that you have lost weight! Here's wishing your wee one a Happy Birthday! Is he 1-year-old? And, oh, how sweet that he took his first steps! I'm glad to have you back posting JCT. :sunny: tia -- Are you still hanging in there? Excellent work with the water challenge. Day 4 notched! :cp: CB -- Hope things are going well for you. Why are you limiting your calories so much? You know that's not a good way to lose weight. Listen to curly's warnings...you are setting yourself up for major rebound and you are messing with your metabolism on top of undoubtedly losing muscle tissue. And muscle tissues also means tissue from organs like your heart! Apple -- How are you doing? Last we heard from you you were heading off for a night on the town. How'd it go? An old guy at work just came back from there, but he said he didn't go out at night at all. I think I've only been to Frisco twice, maybe once. Can't remember it well, though I remember I was surprised at how overcast and gray it was...reminded me of home in Pittsburgh. The second time the weather was pretty and we went to the wharf and so. That was I think in like '89. Well, hope you had a good time. Are you doing a challenge now? angel -- My goodness, when did you do all these challenges? totally stealth or what? Maybe that's the way to go....Well, glad to hear you're doing so well and congrats on the weight loss. :spin: Fish -- You're moving right along too, aren't you? Too bad Barneys didn't bring you anything but good for you for not buying something you didn't really need. Just a few more days on your challenge, right? Keep up the good work! Sushi -- Hope you're feeling better! aileigh -- How are you doing? Have you made progress on your challenge? Starting over is OK! Just being here means a lot too, you know?! Shad -- Hi, there! Glad to hear from you. How are things going for you? Are you doing anything with weight loss or exercise or all that fun stuff yet? Or are you still just taking a break? I hope things are going well for you otherwise. Take care! |
Hi everyone. Just a quick blurry eyed post. I have to go back to work soon - I had the time wrong. Day 4 complete on all challenges. (Actually, am having some cravings, but if I post this, that will hopefully motivate me to not break down at the last minute).
I am feeling horrid - sinus thing again I think. Yuch :( Two good things for today - 1) I got some information on the dietician and personal trainer services from the gym. Not ready to take that plunge quite yet, but want to start budgeting. 2) I think I am going to start a stealth challenge Red will appreciate - my goal is to weight train 3 times a week. I will put $1 in my change jar for each workout, and up it to 5 for the week if I get all 3 in. That money can go towards the personal trainer services. I might pop back in after work. Have a great eveing all. |
Welcome to all the newbies!! :welcome3:
I am rounding up day 5 of my sticking with my healthful eating plan! 16 to go except I have NO intentions of stopping then LOL :corn: |
day 15 ----> 37 carbs
Yep Red I am down 3 lbs in the last 15 days! so it must be helping! NOw if Spring would just get here!!! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!! |
Nine feels fine!
Hello. It's getting late here on Sunday. I did the crunches. Day 9 is done! Sometimes things seem to be going quickly, other times so slowly. Right now, thinking that I'm not even halfway, it seems slow. Still, the crunches have gotten so easy and they were hard in the beginning. That means something and I'm proud of the progress. :dancer:
curly -- That is utterly fantastic! 3 lbs down! :woo: But, you aren't changing your weight tracker, are you? I seem to see the same number up there. Is that just me being mistaken? Or don't you want to change it? Well, curl, you are doing so well and I am SO proud of you. Keep it up and keep us inspired! dance -- Good for you for sticking to your healthful eating for five whole days!! :cp: Awesome, girl! And thank you for always being so sweet.. jolly -- Yes! Day 4 in the bag! Good going! :encore: What's with the blurry eyes? Have you been imbibing? nipping the grape and such? carla?! I want you back here! No, really, jolly, I understand you're tired. And I hope you feel better. Is the sinus problem due to hay fever perhaps? Here, it's hay fever season, the cedar trees and other things, but this year is not supposed to be bad. As for your "stealth challenge"...sounds great....but "stealth" is something we, or I, have used only to mean a regular 21-day challenge that you started and continued in secrecy, popping "above ground" a few days (or a week or whatever) down the line to say, "Heh, I'm on a challenge here." In your case, since your challenge (which I like very much! ) is just one that you don't want to declare officially and doesn't fit the 21-day format...hmmm...what should we call such?! :dunno: Private challenges, extracurricular challenges, bonus challenges? Let's think of something. In any case, I like it, and I wish you the best of luck with it. You're sounding so good these days, different from the Basics days, and I'm glad for you. How's your horse? Name?! My Heidi is getting worse, acting up because she knows I'm too soft. How do I get her to do a good 4-beat canter?! Left lead and we're both bad. Leave her do it, when I realize it! and it's teaching her how to goof off. Well, I know you're not a dressage person, just babbling here. Well, good luck! :goodluck: |
no Red i had dropped to 232 .. then went back up to 234 but currently 231
|
Hi red - thanks for the kind words. Reality is, I think my cheating on my high protein diet is gonna be the hard one.... So I am going to modify my challenges to be more realistic...
1 - Eat more protein and more whole grain (less white carbs) - this is a good one, I think I am mastering this one really (and cheating is going to be okay so long as it is very minimal) 2 - Drink at least 3 bottles still (4 bottles was crazy right now, have you ever drank the water quickly in a desperate attempt to get it down) 3 - Exercise 5 days a week, this one I blew big time because of my cold I got really lethargic at home, but I stuck it out at school when I reported to the gym.... I think my diet will be easier to stick with once I go grocery shopping, right now I have all the bad carbs filling up my cupboards. Thanks for the welcome Dance, I, like red, notice that you have a super sweet attitude... and it is appreciated. Good plan jolly, when it comes to money I have no will power and would be spending my money that I put in the jar (I think my next challenge in life will be non-diet and learn to save... ooooo that ones tough for me so I envy anyone who can put a dollar or so aside to where it builds) So kudos jolly.:^: Congrats marbleflys, I hope one day to post that exact same post :D Goodluck everybody.... lol back to day one and hopefully do good this time, I promise I am going to at least get beyond day 2 LOL.... and I am doing all the challenges as one because I can't keep track of 3 separate days lol. enjoy the rest of the weekend.... |

Next time I'll make it a level 3. My level 2~ still on, but I've taken my 2 days pauses, so I'm on day 12. My level 3~ is good, have not taken any pause day, and I'm on day 14, only 1 week to go. It is now 7:35 PM here, and dinnertime is over and I have also exercised so I'm practically on day 15. Good night all. |
Hang in there, Elyn! Two out of three is going great!! Hope you don't have too many days to go on that second since your pause days are gone! Keep going!!!
|
Red, the "other white meat" is pork. A marketing ploy to convince people lean pork is no fattier than chicken, and is not like demon beef. Of course I know you don't indulge in meats at all...
Interesting that my name always comes up whenever there's any mention of alcohol abuse... Particularly in light of last night's well-watered dinner. A good time was had by all, and today I'm "resting", but felt I had to pop briefly out of lurker-mode. |
Hey gals,
Yesterday was a pause day on water. Only got 50.7 ounces. Bombed on the stealth challenges but I am starting over on those after I figure out what I did wrong. How's everyone doing? JCT what's up? karybeary good going on your first week and welcome? Still doing great on the carbs curly. Red my dear how are you? Don't whip my A** yet, I am getting there, really. |
Hey all. Real quick post - have to help with a lot of shifts at work, so will only be doing quick pops in for a few days.
Carla - I love the "well watered dinner" comment. There are some days I would really love to indulge - but then I think of the calories . . . Day 5 complete. almost was a pause day for all three, as major :censored: was craved. But, I made the right choice in the end. Hurray. Maybe I should just call it - "the other life challenge?" I am either going to use the money for personal trainer, or spa session when I go to see my friend this fall. Have a great day all. Oh yeah, horse is Chance. He likes to take advantage of his Mummy too. Off to cuddle the dogs during the Oscars. |
Day 16 ---->53 carbs
Carla: o my.. lets see i am 45 and i havent drank since i was 34 .. does that give ya an idea of how wild the last party was.. when i decided no more that hang over fairy just started comming later and later in the day.. p.s. heres a tip do not drink goldschlager & lemon drop shots together.. yikes... even the memories of it make my head hurt! Tia: just move ahead and start over...tomorrows a new day! girlieyorkie: ah well u will kick the soda habit.. u are doing great with the other challenges! aileigh: the water goes down easier if its nice & cold.. just sip thru the day .. after a while u miss it if u dont get it all in .. and it does amazing things for your skin! redballoonQueen of the crunches!! dance4joyThere ya go... u just set your mind to it ... and do it!!! jollygirlSending feel better vibes your way.. marbleflysShow those Levis who is the boss!!! karybearyWay to Go!!! (i sowwy) Enjoy whats left of the weekend!! |
Winding down Day 6!
Finding that as I am eating less and savoring my food I don't WANT as much. Tonight I put back part of my dinner for later! I am getting to where I hate that "overstuffed" sick feeling but enjoy it much more when I am full but not overly so!! |
Hey girls!!!!
Day 17 on Journaling.... I have been doing really well with this one. I think it has helped me with being concious of what I eat every day. Day...8 for H2O. That's been a bit harder since I tend to go for the sodas first. I have been using FLY Lady emails to get my house in order and one of her things is to drink water before each meal and after each restroom stop. That gets me in the groove, but I think my next set of challenges will have to have some sort of anti-soda theme. hmmmm. You will all be pleased to know that I actually EXERCISED three times this week!!! LOL We did Yoga one day and took a walk another day. The other day I did these rapid punch things that my daughter likes doing... arms bent at waist, fist curled, one foot slightly in front of the other. Alternate punches in front while rotating waist... as fast and hard as you can! LOL It looks all kinds of weird but she thinks it is great fun. I set up a few goals for me this weekend. I am hoping that I can accomplish them. I wonder if you all could give me your input. My first goal is to hit 203 by St. Patrick's Day (March 17). That's 4 more #s. Another is to be in One-derland by Easter (April 16). The las one is to be down to my goal, 150#, by my birthday (Sept 22). I figured that was 2#/week between now and then. I am wondering if this seems attainable to any of you.... I know it would mean that I need to start exercising so that I have something to increase when I start to plateau.... any input would be greatly appreciated. :grouphug: |
Day 10 in the bag!!!
Hi all. Wrapping up Monday here. I was getting home and thinking, "oh, have to do the crunches still..." when I remembered, no! :spin: I had done them this morning in the long distant past. It's so good to get things done super early in the day, but man is it ever hard to get up and out. Today I was a hair's breadth from calling it off. Instead I forced myself to walk to the gym, jog (but only 3K) and do the crunches and back exercises, then actually did a bit of weight training. I realized I just don't like having lost so much upper-body muscle. So, I'm going to go light there but incorporate some weight training back in my routine. So, Day 10 is done! Hurrah! :cp: Oh, yes, I knocked out the crunches late last night for Day 9, so I still have two pause days left.
JCT -- Good to see you! With your pretty lavender script. Excellent work on the journaling. This is something I must get back into doing. I am thinking of declaring two new challenges tomorrow, no deep-fried foods and a journaling challenge again. You have inspired me and the no deep-fried foods is because I am eating too many of these potato croquettes... :nono: We'll see the specifics tomorrow. Well, that is great with the exercise. I am so glad to hear you are getting out and moving and moving at home too. As for your St. Paddy's Day goals and Easter, I think they are very doable. But, yes, you should try to get some exercise going. Do you have an exercise bike? They are good for spinning away the pounds and you can get your heart rate up pretty high if it has resistance. dance -- :bravo: on Day 6! And I love to hear that you're getting away from the overstuffing yourself. It is so much nicer just to feel comfortably full, isn't it? I think that's a great change you're making there, one that is going to stick with you, I think! curly -- Wow! What a long and colorful post from you! You're 45 and haven't drunk since 34?!?! :?: Oh, wait, NOW I get it, I was thinking the last party was recently and that it wasn't wild, now I see you're saying the last one was 11 years ago and mega crazy! Ok, ok, sounds like some of mine...funny, they didn't have the same longterm aftereffect as yours though....you must be the smarter one. jolly -- Good for you for not taking a pause, but working through that craving and notching another day in the clear! Chance...nice name. Yeah, being taken advantage of is a pain, isn't it? So, does "cuddle the dogs during the Oscars" mean you didn't see the Oscars or did you watch them with the dogs? We had a busy day at work but it was fun going through all the pictures coming in, over 1500 of them! I picked four of the best dresses for the page...I liked Uma Thurman, Jessica Alba, Charlize and Salma (though the last one was really for one guy on the desk who enjoyed the cleavage...speaking of which, Ms. lift and separate herself was there...Jane Russell, looking a bit worn but not bad. I read it was rather boring this year. What did you think (if you saw it that is!) carla -- Oh, wow! get a load of jolly's comment!!! "There are some days I would really love to indulge -- but then I think of the calories." Ouch! She puts in the knife and turns it!! :lol3:  :dizzy: Bet that one got you with tail between the legs, eh? :o You see, my ploy to lure you out of lurkdom worked!! Thanks for the "other white meat" explanation. I had NO idea. Asked at work today and one Canadian knew it. I really had thought it was something a bit more bizarre...guess I have been in Asia too long. Tia -- Keep at it, kiddo! You can do it! Chug that water!! :spin: girlie -- Yes, you caught me! I HAVE been in Asia too long. I mean, whether something is edible or whether I would eat it are two very different things, but when you're in Asia you learn that everything, and I mean everything is indeed edible and you learn to prepare for the worst. Deep-fried roach, anyone? No, but it's true that dogs are eaten in Korea, not in Japan though. I've seen pictures come in over the wire of markets in Korea selling puppies for consumption. It's so sad. Pictures from the Philippines of cats being caught and skinned for sale as well, usually for the gut and musical instrument strings and a lot of that trade goes to Japan. Here, we get the horses that are shipped from the U.S. and whale, dolphin, snake, live goldfish, assorted insects, you name it...it's pretty much available. But, no, I hadn't remembered your challenge was no red meat, so couldn't figure what you were saying about the "other white meat." I didn't realize it was an ad. I thought it was something gross and you didn't want to mention it. Ok, glad that is cleared up and yes, as carla points out, I'm a veghead, nearly vegan. Too bad about your soda challenge. Try again! and make it Level 3. Now, you know why I keep my challenges usually Level 3. Looks like you should have maybe made your Level 3 your Level 1 and vice versa, eh? Well, good luck! :goodluck: aileigh -- Sounds like you've cooked up a doozy with your big all-in-one challenge! Good luck to you! And thanks for your sweet post on the other thread too, by the way. Who else is out there? Apple, surf? CB? marb, kary, Danzer? angel, Fish, Sushi, how are you all doing? :listen: Anyone I missed, come in and post! Newcomers, welcome!! Shad? carla? Don't forget us..... :( |
Hi Red!!!
Hi Red,
I just wanted to pop in for a really quick hello. It sounds like you are doing great. Things are going pretty good here. Weight loss is slow but steady and going down which is a good thing. Dh is recovering from hernia and gall bladder surgery. Baby Gage is walking, talking and terrorizing every chance he can! LOL! Less than 3 months until Brittany graduates. Dylan is a typical 13 yr old in a daze most of the time. LOL! I'm down 49 pound from my wedding day on5/5/02 and 39 pounds since my restart on 10/26/05. Not supertastic results but I'm happy with them. I still have...what is it..71 pounds to go...wow still so far. I can't wait to at least get to that half way point. I'd love to commit to a challenge, but I'm just not sure if I could pop in every day. Right now I'm journaling, doing better with water, and have BEGUN an exercise routine. So we will see how that goes.LOL! Wish me luck and I'm wishing everyone on here the best of luck in your weight loss and challenges!! Take it easy, Lisa |
Hi All
:welcome3: to all the new people!!! Your gonna have a great time here.
My challenges are going great, they are almost over (Day 20 today) and 0 pause days have been taken. I already have new challenges in mind. I have lost another pound, which has brought my short term goal to an end :carrot: and my total weight loss to 10 lbs. For me the first 10 are the easiest so from now on its gonna be nothing but sweat and tears  I will post my new challenges in a few days, i'm off to do some exercise :lifter: Goodluck and be safe! |
Bit of a setback
First the good news - I have finished day 19 of my exercise challenge, so just today and tomorrow and will have made it:D Friday I walked 40 minutes, Saturday DH and I walked for 4 hours around NYC. We walked from 1st Ave and 20th St. up to Central Park (about 4 miles) then took the subway to City Hall, walked down to Battery Park, back up to the World Trade Center site/memorial (the city has done a wonderful and touching memorial set up around the construction), and up through ChinaTown and Soho before we finally had to get a cab before our feet fell off!
He went home Sunday morning, and I walked by myself for over 2 1/2 hours. I walked back down through the Bowery, over to the East Village and SoHo, and back up to my apartment. I went to a designer denim sample sale - bought a pair of Blue Cult jeans in a size 31 for $65! I think these jeans normally sell for at least $150. The 31s were a little baggy, but the 30s were way too tight - i think they may have been slightly different styles though, because I tried on a different pair of 30s and they were only a tiny bit tight. I also bought a LaCoste polo for $30! So it totally makes up for Barney's not having anything:D Now the bad news - I have to start over on my calorie challenge. Oddly enough, after walking practically all of Manhattan, I was super-hungry. I ate pretty healthy food, but a lot of it. (Okay, Sunday I didn't even eat that healthy:o ). At any rate, I am back to day 1 on calories. Es Angel - even though you haven't been posting, you have certainly been going strong on your challenges! You are almost done!!! Congratulations on all the weight loss! :carrot: It seems as if at least half of us have posted a weight loss last week - keep it up, everyone! I haven't been on a scale for a week. I think i haven't gained anything, but am a little concerned. I will be home Thursday night and on the scale as soon as I wake up Friday morning!:dizzy: Red - you are doing great with the crunches. Just keep getting down and doing them! Marble - size 10? I bet you are looking HOT:cool: How tall are you? I see that our weight goals are similar, but wasn't sure if you were taller than me or not (I'm 5'4"). Apple - did you have a good time in San Francisco? |
Hi everyone, Carla I'll respond to your post after I read and catch up...you know you get special attention from me!
Sunday: Day 6 one set of 10 push-ups, one set of 8 push-ups 13 mins. of interval training (aerobics/wts) Monday Day 7! 2 sets of 10 push-ups 17 mins. of interval training I bought my very first pair of NEW size 8, yes A SIZE 8!!!! cotton capri summer slacks yesterday....(but I think they run big). I've not stepped on the scale yet, I'm a BIG CHICKEN, but I see improvement every week when I try on some of my old clothes. Fish, I'm 5'5" and small framed, 49 y.o., traditional hour-glass shape before i gained....larger bust...(that's why the push-up challenge). hi to everyone else, I think I need a liquid challenge....I do get in at least 20-30 ounces of wine daily...... |
Hi Red, I eat everything, but am partial to fish and veggies and those really good turkey burgers, I do eat red meat maybe once a week, pizza, chinese food (no puppies or kitties!). I limit the white stuff, occasional bowl of pasta only. I limit fat except for alcohol and a small choc. here/there. I've learned not to bring certain things into the house because I can't be trusted.
I think I am finally burning fuel instead of storing it....my metabolism was really off due to the large quantities of pain meds I had to take from the fractures....my lifestyle has gotten more active too, and my stress has been reduced. Oh Carla, was that YOU I saw under the table in the restaurant the other night?....good to *see* you, I'll send you a PM later today! |
Hey everyone! Thanks for the encouragement!! It's very much appreciated. I feel bad that I really have no time to comment on other people's successes...it's just that I've been so busy lately it's hard to even write my own post! LOL.
Anyways...I came up with 3 new goals. They should be a little easier, and I kept the pop goal. But here they are... 1.) No pop (L3) *Used a pause day today...felt really sick and low today. But I'm gonna keep it up. 2.) Write in my blog every day (L1) *Day 1 complete* and.....drumroll....... 3.) Check in on this thread and write in here every day! (L1) Day 1 complete* That way I'll keep myself accountable, and I'll try to comment on how other people are doing as well! I'm gonna make time every night to check in! Hope everyone's doing well. Keep up the great work! :carrot: |
Time to restart my challenges. Enough is enough.
Red and Curly I appreciate looking out for me, but the only reason I did not eat anything is because I was sick, and simply could not intake food. I am actually glad I spent them w/o food, but I did get in my water withought I could not have survived. I got used to drinking it, and sometimes right before bed I feel like I did not get enough, so I would drink 8-10oz out of pure thirst. Over the weekend, I realaxed and did pretty much nothing. 4 loads of laundry are still on the floor unwashed, just like the dishes - waiting. I straighted the kitchen though. Yet, I gave myself two hours - tried on entire closet, where I have even smaller sized, which are my favorites, or never worn items. I fit into majority of them, which makes me very excited, especially the blue classical jacket that I had for years, I am able to wear it after 4.5 years break. Just like Jolly I am thinking of personal trainer. As of this morning I am 242 lowest I've been in like 5 years. But I think I need a more structured approach. I will discuss it tonight, and perhaps will start this week. |

Hi all! Just a quick pop-in! I had a fun week-end. It was nice to get 24 hours OFF from Mommy/wife role.
I took a pause day in there somewhere so I'm on day 4 I think. |
