Hey all...morning to ya.

No time for really getting personal but just had to check in.

Ed-you were wondering if you were doing it right? and noticing that everyone goes to the gym. I have only been going for the last 3 weeks. Exercise is not my strong point either. I'm using my sister as my exercise buddy, so we can keep eachother motivated. If you have someone to go through it with, it really does help a great deal. I keep her accountable and she keeps me accountable. As far as eating goes, I agree with eating more protein foods. My doctor has me doing high protein snacks between meals and my meals are more protein based. Good proteins though and not over doing it. I still eat veggies, fruits, and some nasty carbs here and there. I'm lucky to a certain extent, to have an allergy to yeast, so that cuts out breads, pizza, donuts, etc.

Okay...gotta go. Laundry is looking at me and I should at least get that done today. Tiana has dance tonight and basketball tomorrow. My schedule is gonna be loaded. My semester break is over and tomorrow I head back to school. Busy Busy Busy....

Hi Kathy!! Welcome!!

Ok, I went to Curves again today! I love being able to get in & out! Oh, and it wasn't very expensive. Well, compared to the other gyms & such I checked out. I think it would be something like 30 dollars a month. They were having an offer for half off sign-up fee, so I went & checked it out. LOVE IT!! I paid it all in full b/c I know I will use it. It was about $429.00 for the whole year including sign-up!! I am happy & Billy is on his way here!! Taebo! I better go!

Hi Ladies!

Carafre: Yay for you for going to Curves! I've never been there, but I used to go to Gold's Gym and I loved it. Are you doing any of the classes or just the machines? When I first signed up to Gold's, we got 3 sessions with a personal trainer. That was very cool. I learned a lot of information from him and still remember and utilize what I learned.

Kathy: Welcome! Hope you enjoy it here, this is a great group of motivating ladies! Good luck with your weight-loss goals.

Alisha: I haven't posted my menus lately because meals have been last-minute lately. Your menu choices today sound yummy! Especially dinner.... hmmm, I have some whole wheat bread that I need to use before it molds, maybe I'll have the same dinner you're having!

I'm with you on the water intake. We now have a fridge with the water on the outside and I don't like buying bottled water when I have filtered water available all the time. So without the bottles it's harder for me to keep track of what I'm drinking. I have some large water sport bottle things, but I hate using those because after awhile they start to taste like whatever you've been eating! So I think it may be time for a water challenge soon. What do you say, fellow Sahmmies, are you up for it??

I've been painting the kitchen and family room this week. I've almost finished painting the kitchen cabinets, and they are looking great. I thought it would be the biggest pain to get those done and was dreading it, but it's actually kind of fun. I was up until 12:30 last night putting the first coat on all the cabinet doors. I think I will be an expert on painting when this house is finally "done".

Did anyone catch 24? I don't think anyone else here watches it because no one responded to my last post about it. So I'll ask instead if any caught American Idol last night? Yes, I watched it last year so we thought we'd take a look again this year. After it was over last night, my husband looked over at me and said, "We just wasted two hours of our lives that we'll never get back." Ha! I agree. If we watch again tonight I think we'll just turn it on and listen while we do something else.

Okay, I'll go for now. Talk to you later! - Cindy

Hello all! I am still waiting on my videos to arrive. I hope they'll be here by Sat!! I am ready to TAEBO!! I will not be posting my meals. It hurts me more than it helps to write down everything. I am eating very well and have been for several weeks now! I say YES to another water challenge!! The challenges really helped me out. When do we start?? Alisha - Curves doesn't have childcare, but that's part of the reason I like it. I need to get away and focus on me. I have lots of exercise eqipment here (that I will use in tandum w. Curves) but soley (for me) working out at home is hit & miss w/ me. I'd attend to the kids when I should've been working out. I need a constant. OOps gotta go will return soon.

Default new goal

I have changed my goal from 15 pounds to 25...I weighed myself and have lost 10 so far. I don't weigh often but I think I am going to start. I was shocked to see how much I actually do weigh. What is a Water challenge??? I tryto get 64 oz daily.

question: what low calorie/high protein or fiber snacks do ya'll eat???

Ed-I get protein bars from my doctor for snacks. Hard boiled eggs are good. 1 oz of cheese, lunchmeat, cottage cheese, yogurt, milk. There is alot of options out there. For other protein ideas, you can check out some food lists for the South Beach diet. They have great ideas.

Not much happening today ladies. I didn't get to the gym but walked/jogged for 1/2 hour on my sisters treadmill. I started back to school today. I figured it would be an easier semester but I already have assignments due on Friday and some due on Sunday. Yikes.

Gotta work tomorrow so I'll check with everyone in the evening. I may get to the gym. It depends on if I can get my hubby to watch our kids and my niece and nephew.

Sleepy time for the munchkins. We have mini meltdowns happening again.

Good Morning SAHMommies! I havent been online much over the last few days. i've been trying to get a head start on spring cleaning, working my partyplan biz, and trying to finish up some minor projects around the house.

I too agree that we need a water challenge, that is one area that I really need to improve.

Cara: I'm still waiting for my tae bo boot camp also,LOL. I thought for sure mine would be here by now...

Anyways I have to get off here and get some things done. I have laundry to catch up on and I have to type a cover letter for the fundraiser I'm doing and try to clean out the kids' toy boxes.

I'll check in later

A water challenge is where you're challenged by others in the group to drink a certain amount of water in a day. On a thread I was with before, we did water challenges, mini challenges, and exercise challenges, etc. Kind of fun and keeps you focused on a goal for the day.
