Question

Cindy, when my oldest was a baby, she had her favorite blankie. I found an extra for her so when I was washing one, she wouldn't be without it. She latched on to both of them. So I found a third one. She then found that one too and latched on to all of them. Thought you'd get a kick out of that one. The moral of the story is to hide the extra beanie baby.

I don't have time to get personal with everyone right now but just had to check in. I lost 2 lbs this week, going from 198 to 196. I didn't get a chance to check the scale this am to see if I it had changed from a couple days ago. I forgot and I had to eat so I could get all my medication in for the day. I have to take all my pills for my rheumatoid arthritis on the same day.

Breakfast: 3 eggs, 1/4 cottage cheese....250 calories
Snack: Protein Bar........150 calories
Lunch: Not sure but I have to keep that around 300.
Snack: ??????
Dinner 4 oz steak
Salad
4 oz. potato
1 c. veggies of choice

That's about it for me. I'll be walking on my gazelle today or something since I didn't get to the gym yesterday. Jen's baby boy was too sick and he wouldn't let her put him down. He wanted to be held and rocked. HOpe the little monkey feels better today. My gosh....the antibiotics they put him on were expensive enough. $155 dollars for 5 days. The doctor gave her samples for the other 5 days.

Alisha, I too fight those impulsive cravings. Sometimes I don't fight hard enough *laugh*.

Cindy, congrats on your loss!! WTG

Cat, you're still headed in the right direction. It's good that you see the downward trend instead of the slight gain. *thums up*

Amanda, Yay on feeling your hip bone! I know mine are in there somewhere. *laugh* I hope I find them someday in the near future.

Chris, congrats on the 2 pound loss!

I need to get back to exercising. I've really slacked off since Christmas.

Good morning Sahmmies! Well, my planned menu yesterday didn't quite turn out as planned. We ended up eating at home before going out (which is a good thing) but all we had was ramen noodles (which is a bad thing). Then, I saw a show on Food Network and fell in love with everything that was being cooked, so I went out and got the ingredients and cooked it all for dinner. I was very proud of myself and it was very good, and really not too bad calorie wise. I made chicken cacciatore, smashed potatoes, bruschetta, and chocolate anise biscotti (okay, that last wasn't so healthy!).

Today I've had the usual breakfast (Kashi cereal, oj, instant coffee). For lunch and dinner we will probably have the chicken leftovers, not too bad.

Two "Woo-hoos" for today: The Bears play the Panthers (I'm a Bears fan) and 24 starts tonight. We're going to Lowe's to get some more paint and start painting the kitchen cabinets today. So it's a full day in our household. How about all of you?

Okay, have to go for now and check on my men. Talk to you later!

Hi, ladies! Here I am, ready *again* to start eating right. I'm looking into the South Beach Diet (modified for my health concerns), but I get confused about what to eat. I'm posting on a website about the SBD to see if I can get some easy-to-understand help. I had salad for lunch yesterday and with dinner last night, and I had salad with lunch today. That's really good for me. And I haven't had any pop-tarts this weekend! (Of course, we didn't have any, so that would seem to be the actual reason, *but* I purposely didn't buy them at the store yesterday. Woo-hoo!)

Just wanted to say hi.

Hi, FitChick, welcome! I am working right now to make sure that the 'bad stuff' stays at the grocery store, and never gets into my cart! I think changes like that help with permanent lifestyle changes.

It's been a nice weekend. My 'actual' weekend is Wed- Thu, when hubby is off, but this weekend, baby and I went to visit some neighbors. Took them eggs and visited a bit - it was nice. I made a pretty healthy meat loaf yesterday - filled it with lots of hidden veggies. Hubby really liked it, and couldn't figure out why, lol. I told him I tried some new 'spices' (mushrooms, carrots, onion, celery, tomato and wheat bran mixed in). Anyway, it's been a nice weekend. I was going to make soap today, but I forgot to distill some water....so I'm going to do that today, then make soap tomorrow! I can hardly wait!!

Today was my weigh-in and I gained a pound and a half. I've been doing all the right things this week so I am hoping that this means that I am gaining muscle. But I still don't like the thought of seeing a gain.

Good morning ladies. Saturday's dinner didnt work out as planned. we ended up going to my MIL's house for dinner and we had biscuits and gravy, and fried potatoes, and eggs for dinner ( I had SMALL portions, lol)

SO todays menu is:

Breakfast: None... My tummy was not in an eating mood this morning

Lunch: 2oz tuna w/ mayo on italian bread

Dinner: Baked spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread

Both kids are feeling better and are back to school today, thank goodness So today I am going to be catching up on housework and start decluttering. I am so sick of having so much STUFF around, lol. and most of it is junk...Oh well, I'll count all that as my strength training for today, lol.

Cynthia: That dinner sound delicious, lol. I really miss watching food network, LOL. I gotta get my satellite dish hooked back up soon.

Cat: Meatloaf is one of my favorite things, lol. especially with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes on the side. I have started "hiding" veggies in mine also. Hubby cant tell the difference

Well, I gotta get off my rear and get moving or I'm not going to accomplish anything today. Talk to you all later

Default how many calories do I need?

ok...I want to be in a bikini by this summer...we have a neighborhood pool and I'll probably meet w/ a bunch of moms there alot this summer. I had a baby last summer and didn't go at all. Lost all of my weight breastfeeding but since I stopped I have gained. I need to lose about 15 pounds to do get back into old swimsuits. I am guessing on this b/c I don't weigh myself-just go by how clothes fit. Pool opens around memorial day. I have been eating b/w 1200 and 2000 calories. (1200-1700 weekdays roughly 2000 weekends) My weaknesses are not exercising, sweets and alcohol ...and I can't stand being hungry. I have been walking at least 30 minutes- up to one hour 3-5 times weekly. Am I going to be ready???????????

Alisha, I saw your dessert recipe in your post and here is another good one to try.

1 container of ff cool whip
1 large container of ff cottage cheese
1 sm. envelope of sf jello mix

Mix all together and chill. It tastes awesome. Just use the powder in the jello mix, no water. I did mine with lime jello and it was delicious.

Ed-I am soo jealous. I would love to be where you are at. 15 lbs by Memorial Day. You have that one licked. NO problem. I'm shooting for having most of my weight gone by June. I have around 40 more to go. I'm over a 1/3 of the way there.

Sorry so short. I have ta get dinner going. I worked today and tonight is gym night with my sister. Talk to you in a bit, if not...at least I'll check in in the morning.

I think the 'secret' to a moister meatloaf is just to go easy on the dry stuff like breadcrumbs. Veggies help because they are not so dry, and I use 2 eggs instead of 1.

So, what did I eat today?

B: Hubby made pancakes - I had one with maple sugar (not syrup, but sugar - very yummy stuff!) and some skim milk.

L: PBJ on homemade whole wheat bread, and an apple

Sn: A big ol glass of diet pepsi - I was feeling sleepy and logy, needed the caffeine.

S: Baked chicken with Kahlbi (Korean BBQ sauce), Rice, and a mix of veggies I whipped up - carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, onion, cabbage. Also a little cherry cobbler - home-made, lowfat. Cherries were from our tree, we grew the chicken, everything else was 'normal', lol. It was a pretty good day, though it was long and busy and I'm pretty tired. It's also gotten hella cold here overnight - it was in the 60's one day, the low 30's and windy the next. Mew!
