ohhh, that is great news Curly!!! I'm crossing fingers and toes for you :crossed:

Today has been a bit doom and gloom with all the rain we've had but I still managed to get to the gym to workout. The kickboxing teacher was trying to convince me to take her class and was alittle put out when I said, not today. Why did she make me feel bad? I still worked out but could feel her 'eyeing' me. geesh!! Well its official.....ds is now a wolf in cubscouts!!! I went and sewed the badges on his new shirt and we have his first pack meeting tonight. He's going to be sooo excited!!! Good thing I've got dinner in the crockpot as it will be tight what with homework and all. tc

petra65 11-15-2005 08:17 PM

Good luck Curly-hope things work out for you. I haven't noticed that about protein powder.

Valerie-you are on a roll. Keep up the good work.

I had a terrible day at work. I'm almost tempted to drink. And I've already had 39 grams of carbs so I can't figure out what to eat. I"m in a terrible predicament but at least I got my exercise in for theday.

iwmonn 11-15-2005 08:58 PM

hey PIC's,

I've been lurking, watching, rooting ya all on.... but I just haven't been able to post. I'm not sure what's up.... I'm thinkin maybe hormones lol... seriously tho, really. TOM visited a couple weeks ago ( about 2 weeks early) and now is when my schedule says I should be hostessing, so I'm thinkin my body is just messin' with me. Anyways, I've been kinda down the last week or so, and not following any good food guidelines, or doing much of any exercise. I don't wanna go to the dr office to weigh myself..... I think I'm still maintaining (according to my very irregular home scale). Today is the day all that changes tho... we went to san francisco and I had a maple bar for breakfast then for lunch 3 pancakes and eggs and sausage. Tonite we're having bratwurst and sauerkraut and tomorrow is back on my plan! We're going to Colorado for Lee's dad's 90th birthday at New Years and I really want to be looking good since I have not met anyone in his family cept one brother lol.... So now there's new external motivation!

Back to important stuff now.... you guys are all doing so great... Congratulations to everyone of you losers!!!!! And good luck to all of us who are teetering. WE CAN do anything!!!!!!

Imma check back after dinner and TBL... :grouphug:

curlylocks 11-15-2005 09:08 PM

lol i couldnt figure out what i wanted for dinner last nite and ended up having sauerkraut.. filled me up tho!

Petra: I think i may be a wee bit lactose intolerant.. not real bad but just a tad today was better..

just watched the biggest loser... watching dr jeff go home and seeing his famly when they saw him ... wahhhhh tears streaming down my face..

lol had to laff when i saw valerie's post... now she has flower addiction hehehe

iwmonn 11-15-2005 09:58 PM

noooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not dr jeff :( It's not on here for another hour. I can't say anything to Lee cuz if he knows I know what's gonna happen, we'll have to watch Dr Phil instead lol.

btw.. I can't stand sauerkraut so I didn't really fill up on it lol.... i had lots of veggies instead. Wrong kind (Peas, corn, carrots) but better than the potatoes I made for dh (I'm hoping- can ya give me a thumbs up or down on that curley or petra? hehehehe) All I see when I look at potatoes now is sugar

bbl

curlylocks 11-15-2005 10:02 PM

im sorry i didnt even think about the time difference...

iwmonn 11-15-2005 10:10 PM

hahah you came back while I was editing curley lol... you have a good idea there.... what do you think I should bet him?

Louie 11-15-2005 10:32 PM

Hey Partners ~ sorry I don't have time to post tonight...tax questions to do :p but I wanted to leave you with this for the day  Take Care !!

What you make it
You can speculate and guess and theorize and envision, and all those things have their place. Yet you will not know for sure what you can and cannot do until you step forward and make the effort. There are many things that might go wrong, and many obstacles you likely did not anticipate. Yet you must not allow the possibility of those problems to stop you before you even get started. When something comes up that you didn't plan for, you can learn from it and make adjustments. When a difficult challenge arises, that challenge brings with it the opportunity for even greater value when you choose to persevere. Everything that is easy and guaranteed to succeed has already been done. Real accomplishment comes from doing the things that no one else thinks you can do. Lift your eyes up and see the objective at the end of the path. Then lift your feet up, one after the other, and take the first few steps along that path. Accomplishment is not what is reasonable or practical or certain or without controversy. Accomplishment is precisely what you decide to make it.

awwwwww Dr. Jeff *sniffle*... we both cried here too. Lee said he felt Jeff was going to go tonight too, especially when he was on the block with andrea.... since he is the bigger threat.... I don't know. I really get encouraged by the show, but the biggest loser gets voted off cuz they are the threat... should be some other way huh?

Everyone have a great day and I'll be in for my daily dose of everything I get from all my PIC's!!!
It's a new day :) :grouphug:

curlylocks 11-16-2005 06:59 AM

ooo that is a great reading Tea! thanks for sharing it!!

its gonna be a great day today . cuz when i did my scale hop this morning i was down...:cheer:

Dee .. that is great that u passed on the taters!! one step at a time!! but ummm carrots are as high as the potatoes..
the peas=39 so peas are good :cheer: corn is moderate..

The glycemic index (GI) is a numerical system of measuring how much of a rise in circulating blood sugar a carbohydrate triggers—the higher the number, the greater the blood sugar response. So a low GI food will cause a small rise, while a high GI food will trigger a dramatic spike. GI is 70 or more is high, a GI of 56 to 69 inclusive is medium, and a GI of 55 or less is low.

just google glycemic index

HAHA if we like it ,,, it must be high sugar! Amazing isnt it? and it explains a lot.. (well for me anyways) seems like if its full of natural sugars its something i love...

Yikes think i am in trouble cuz i was eating turnips all weekend and i cant find them on the list but seems like all root veggies are high sugar..

is a parsnip a turnip???

Valerie: I GOT a flower !!!!! its been so long since i got one!!!

Petra: Protein "rocks"

petra65 11-16-2005 07:57 AM

Curly-I'm glad to see you are doing well with protein power. have you visited the board yet? They have all kinds of recipe there. Turnips are usually okay. I don't like them but a lot of people use them in recipes in place of potatoes. Parsnips are related to carrots and I think they are pretty high in sugar. I think Turnips and rutabagas are similar. Maybe someone can clarify.

I'm feeling really run down today. I think too many long days and too much stress catching up to me. This usually happens when I work the weekend. Just have a few more days to go and fortuanately next week is a short week.

jennie934 11-16-2005 09:03 AM

Hey Ladies,
Off to a good day today. I've been very strict with my food this week since not much time for excersise. I havn't located my scale since the move so I can't take a peek at what it says. I hope its OK. I've never really had a week with out much excersising, I kind of count on that to get these pounds off. Today I'll get some in and tomorow, I'll do kickboxing, so I'll probably get in 3 or 4 days but not my ussual. I'm thinking about geting some weights to do the Jillian circuits at home. Not sure what to do for the ones that use machines though...?hmmm...
Keep up the good work everyone, got to run.
Jennie

Good Morning Ladies,

Curly, I've checked out the glycimic index. Got a copy of The Glycimic Revolution, but it confuxed me so much. It was like everything in it was opposit of what I've been taught re eating diabetic..... I have to figure out that ONE plan to stick with, and use it- not try to incorporate all the different plans into one. Make sense? btw- congrats on the new flower!!
