i guess someone thought i needed another kitty.. or it just wandered here .. @ 3 months ago.. but i am in the process of teaching it to trust me.. at first as soon as the door opened he/she would run into the woods... now it has taken up living under my house... tho we are making progress today when i went out to feed it it peeped out from under the house.. i asked if it wanted some breakfast and it talked back to me MEOW.. i said well come on out.. hmmm should i??? but didnt run away... i think its a she.. so in keeping with the "M" tradition she will be named MING

petra65 11-21-2005 08:10 PM

Curly-certainly you read about the sardines in Protein Power Lifeplan. I also take it you aren't following Protein Power strictly or you wouldn't be eating oatmeal.

I can't say I know a lot about supplements but I do know a little. I take several everyday. Alpha lipoic acid, a B supplement, L-carnitine, of course, Magnesium, Fish Oil, Co-Enzyme Q10, and a multivitamin. I've experimented with others but these seem to be the ones I've settled on. A lot of people on the protein power board take more and swear by certain ones for certain uses--PMS, carb cravings, etc. I'm not sure what you want to know so I"m not sure if I can help you.

I was a good girl today. I got home from work early enough to go to pilates class and I actually went. I think my abs are going to be killing me tomorrow.

curlylocks 11-21-2005 08:59 PM

i need my oatmeal!!!! lol i really dont eat many other carbs through out the day and after south beach I am egged out... I will not buy cereal anymore .. so i feel like its better for me to have the oatmeal in the mornings.. but i only eat the old fashioned type,

when i have the oatmeal in the morning i stay full and i am not tempted to eat things i shouldnt at work..

yes i guess i have taken a lil bit of SB & protein power and combined them.. south-power ?

Hey There PIC's,

HOpe ya'll had a great Monday. It's actually my Friday WooooHOOOOOO... what a weekend. It's been so nice here that the tourists don't realize it's winter lol. Busy, busy, busy....
So the good news is I found out today that the local WW doesn't charge! I'm so excited I get to try it. They meet on Wed eves, so I'll be going next week. I found out from one of my customers who also just happens to be a certified personal trainer at the gym that I can't afford... hmmmmmm maybe we can work something out? I'm hoping :)
The only down side is that last nite I finally ordered The Four Corners Book and I'm kinda psyched to try that one too.... Am I way off base to think I can incorporate the two? Guess I'm getting ahead of myself. Better slow myself down and learn something.

Okayyyyyy... Sardines!!! I used to love them, but haven't had them for years either. I do have a can in the cupboard now, i bought a few weeks ago lol... but haven't had the 'stomache' to eat them hehehehe.

Petra~ Thanks for the info on the proteins. The main reason I really wanted to try the rice was cuz they come in nice little individule packets lol... i'm all about convienence!

Curly~ I just about adopted a brand new baby lamb today! A customer had him- The momma had 2 and just wouldn't deal with this one. He was so tiny! Hubby was reasonable tho.... that if he lived we don't have proper shelter from heat and cold and predators... lol All I though about was that poor baby and Lee being retired could stay home and be a daddy and bottle feed him and we have a couple acres with lots of grass for a grazing animal.... *sigh* He's probably right :(
On the up side, Your little Ming is sweet looking. I bet you'll have her friendly in no time.

Val~ WooooHOOOOo to you again!! You are gonna have enough for a boquet soon!! Good Job to you

Jennie~A pedicure :) My treat is going to be a nice fullbody hot rock massage. I've got a long way tho..... oh, and also that Lee has to start smoking outside... all when I hit the halfway mark.

So, I'll be popping in n out thru my weekend. I hope you PIC's all have a great day... ttys
:grouphug:

Hey Kids !!

Jennie ~ way to go girl... onederland :bravo:

Congrats to all the other losers this week. I am happy to report that I am joining you with a loss of 2.3 lbs :carrot:

Human Resources wasn't too bad yesterday, it was more organizational behaviour then human resource activities. Next Saturday is International Accounting.. I am living the dream  Then I have a week off work to study for an exam on Dec 3.

Well I must get back to my books. Hope you all have a great Tuesday.

curlylocks 11-22-2005 07:29 AM

woo hoo today is the last full day until the holiday! we usually get off at 2 on the day before a holiday...

at my ladies workout express.. they are starting something new it will be called "boot camp nite" they will up the resistance on all the machines.. for 2 hours... I can tell that the owner tweaked the machines yesterday cuz i am a lil stiff today! but usually she only ups a few of them.. so with all of them up that should be a real tuff workout!

Ive read a few posts where people are concerned about "falling off the wagon" for thanksgiving?? does anyone here have any concerns? I think i will be fine.. its all kinda programed into me at this point...

ok guess i better get in gear.. geez its pouring again here! 3 furkids fed and 2 to go...

Have a great day!

iwmonn 11-22-2005 12:21 PM

Good Morning PIC's

How is everyone today? I got called in to work for a couple hours... yayyyy $$$$$. Heck I had to go in to pick up my turkey anyways lol. I can't wait. I'm going to have Lee cut it in half tho. A whole turkey is just too much for us to eat and Leftovers are good, but not for 3 weeks straight.

I'm going to head to the beach after work today. There is a trail to the estuary that I've never walked before, and I've had a hankerin' to walk it.

So, I did my scale today and i'm down 3, so that is the one I'm going to be using for my official weight. It'll be interesting to see the difference of that one vs. the one at the weightwatchers group. I think I'm going to stay with this one for official tho, cuz it's convienent for me.

You all have a wonderful day, keep up the awesome work Ladies!!! :high:

:grouphug:

Valerie Joy 11-22-2005 02:03 PM

Hi PIC's!

I hope everyone is having a good day! I woke up and and did the 3 mile WATP for the first time. :dancer:

Curly I am a bit worried about thanksgiving. I have trouble having the wrong foods in my house. Like yesterday I got into the test pumpkin pie and cool whip :dizzy:

There are a lot of things I'm making that I can't eat. I try to stay on the Zone eating low glycymic foods. Mashed potatoes are one of my favorites that I'm going to try and resist. Stuffing is another one I shouldn't have. Then one of my well meaning family members is bringing chips and dip  I've been craving chips like crazy. I decided to not make the traditional green been cassarole and have a healthy salad instead. I'm going to just have turkey and salad and try to stay away from the other stuff. Stuff like chips and potatoes is like a drug for me. If I have some it's going to be like starting out all over as far as cravings go.

Dee congrats on the loss!!! I see you got another flowers:bravo:

curlylocks 11-22-2005 03:41 PM

hey valerie...

heres a few suggestions... why dont you try making the mashed cauliflower for yourself.. ( they say its pretty close in tatse to the mashed potatoes) and when u make up your stuffing make a small dish of stuffing made from wheat bread? as far as the chips and dip.. have dip with some celery

petra65 11-22-2005 07:37 PM

OMGoodness, I had a whole post here and I lost it!!

Dee-congrats on your loss. Hope you enjoy WW. I didn't know they had free groups.

I'm making sugarfree pumpkin cheesecake and a green vegetable to take to my Aunt's house for Thanksgiving dinner because otherwise I'd only have turkey to eat. There is usually nothing but carbs at our family dinner-mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, stuffing, homemade rolls, all the usual culprits.

iwmonn 11-22-2005 07:53 PM

thanks Val :) I'm not really so sure I actually deserve the loss, as I weighed way earlier in the day than normal, and naked to get that 3 lbs, but that will be the way I do it from now on... and I needed the little boost for my ego. Oh, and I stopped at the Dr office to use their scale and my home one reads the same. (something I'm glad to know).

Ya know if you try to do just turkey and salad, you may be setting yourself up to fail... you should allow yourself some normalcy. I don't know about anyone else, but I've tried the cauliflower trick and it didn't work for me! maybe do a mashed sweet potato for yourself? I'm trying that here. (Curly or Petra, help me out--sweet potato is better isn't it? :?: ) Also, curly's idea on the veggies and dip is good too. Try using ranch dip mix in soft silken tofu. It's pretty good and way better for you than mayo or sour cream based dips. Have some fruits/veggies on the snackie table too, that way when you walk past, you'll have something to reach for. I dunno Val, I'm obviously no expert. Just letting you know some of the things I'm trying. Tho I'm lucky (?) cuz there will be no family but Lee and I, lol. Half a turkey, no stuffing, no chips n dip, enough mashed potatoes for him. I won't have dinner rolls in the house tho.... that's a real danger zone for me.

ok, simple lil post has turned long again... hugs to ya'll!!! :grouphug:

iwmonn 11-22-2005 07:58 PM

Petra, I didn't know it was free either, but the girl who told me said it was cuz when they charged here, there were never enough people to make an official chapter anyways... she said they have all the same access to everything WW that the big groups have so I'm going to give it a try.

petra65 11-22-2005 08:39 PM

I'm not big on mashed cauliflower either although apparently there is this stuff called ketatoes mix. I haven't found it yet but they might sell it in Dee's store. My sister lives near a health food store and is going to try to find it for me. Apparently if you mix this into the mashed cauliflower it makes it taste a lot more like mashed potatoes. I have made mock potato salad out of cauliflower and t hat worked pretty good.

And yes, the sweet potato would be much better than regular mashed potatoes.

iwmonn 11-22-2005 10:55 PM

I just did a search with our suppliers website and They don't carry ketatoes. To bad cuz it'd be interesting to try. LOL I'll take any suggestions of products I should be carrying. I don't have time to know all the different products. I'm interested Petra, a while back you said something about a No Pudge mix you got and I was wondering how it was. I've seen that in my book. A lot of what we carry is based on customer request, low carb, wheat free-gluten free and of course organic and natural items too.
Cauliflower potato salad sounds ickkky too lol... course that could be because I truley detest cauliflower. :faint: (I do eat broccoli now though- a HUGE step for me) hehehe...

Almost time to settle in for TBL! I'll ttyal.

~zoey~ 11-23-2005 12:34 AM

Greetings PICs! I hope that everyone has a great (lo cal, lo carb, lo fat) Thanksgiving.

We are leaving in the early AM for eldest daughter's. She has 5 children and lots of cats and the sensory overload there can be overwhelming! Lots of love at that house and we are always happy to see each other.

I'll be back in a week or so.

zoey
