Curly and L2L I hope you two feel better real soon. :genie:
Short post, dispatching home game. Kick off at 1930 hours. Gotta run. Phones going NUTZ. Mmmm nuts. I'm hungry. Bye  |
Uh oh, sick PIC chicks. Hope you guys feel better soon.
Great pictures Dee. I'm taking a little informal survey here. I was talking to someone at work today who wants to lose weight because she has problems with her knees. I was telling her what a big committment it is and you can't be half hearted about it. I think I spend about 2 hours a day on weight loss related activities--that includes entering stuff in my fitday journal, exercising, logged onto weight loss sites like this or protein power, reading weight loss related books, magazines or articles, looking at recipes, etc. I'm wondering if I'm average or if most people spend more or less time than that? I'm also thinking that when I get to goal, the amount of time I have to spend on maintaining is actually going to go up which is scarey! |
Hi Everyone!
Curly & L2L I would highly recommend trying zicam and or airborne if you feel like you're getting sick! I've completly avoided colds that way! Dee.. great pictures! Your rabbits have longer ears then the ones around chicago! For a city we have a fair amount of wild animals. We have rabbits, squirles, skunks, possums, deer & coyotes! Mom my back is still about the same. I have a chiro and massage app for tomorrow. Thanks for asking! Petra congrats on your doctors report. I know that 87 is a good sugar number! I need to get mine tested again I was just told I have diabetes about a month and go and am taking meformin. I'm usually around 110 when I test. Is that good? WTG to everyone who stayed OP today! You are all great! |
Petra I would say to be prepared for weight loss to take over your life.. it has to be your main focus... i would estimate even more than 3 hrs per day.. or more at first.. after a while u can just cycle your menus so you dont have to put as much thought into that part ... but i know for myself i spend a great deal of time.. learning about nutrition and just keeping myself psyched up!

Thanks... I think some a the pictures are pretty good. I've been working on adding to my site, but now I forgot how lol... and I'll be durned if I'm gonna ask hubby. He gets sooooo uppity when I forget computer things. So, I'm not a geek  hehehe..
Petra~ I don't spend a lot of time at all on my weight loss. Maybe that's wrong? Maybe I could lose more, faster if I were more dilligent. I watch my portions, read the labels, and spend 20 min to 40 min on exercise per day- (which I actually would like to 'up'). I tried planning out meals one week and it worked great, but I just don't have the patience for it every week. I don't know my calories in or calories out- For me it's been a matter of stopping the junk food, and the nighttime snacking, and just practicing choices that I know are good for me. So far, so good. Now Maybe in the future I'll need/want to be more involved. I don't know. LOL I spend more time on here keeping up on posts or checking out recipes etc.... ??? Thanks for being here Girls!!! Curley & L2L~ Sorry you guys aren't feeling well. I just went thru it and I can relate! Lots of water, and lots of rest is what you need. I hope you can get it. **hugs** Val~ GL with your appointment tomorrow. I hope it helps lots! AngelEyes~ We have a couple acres in N. Cali. It's still a pretty rural area here. I love the wildlife. lol we do have a skunk too, i've never seen him, but sometimes in the middle of the night he lets us know he's around ;) if ya know what I mean. So today was a good day, working into a good night. I always have better food days when I'm off. Too many temptations at work lol... You all be good now, ok? :grouphug: |
Hi Pic's!!!
Curly....oops sorry!! NOW that would be some bath huh? Petra.....as for your survey.... :coach: SURVEY SAYS!!!....I spend too much time on the computer what with reading posts (all over the site), posting here with the Pic's, recipies, etc...all total about 2 hours and then my workout on top of that. I also read and re-read parts of Jillians book and others trying to keep that motivation going. Good thing I don't work outside the house!!! Lately though, its alot worse since I started Jillian's book. Okay, I'll fess up...its a time sucker, before you know it the time as just flew by. |
Yipes! It is easy to fall behind with this bunch. I have been staying OP including the walks and I suppose that I am making progress, but it is slow. Some of my clothes do fit a bit better.
I hope that Curly and L2L feel better soon and that Turtle solves the puffy face and swollen eyes problem. Greetings to all PICs and I will try to keep up better. zoey |
Well it was back to the 5 am wake up call at my house this morning! Oh well!
Where has Lisa-WY been? This is not like her! Do we need to go hunt her down? Thanks to the people who have answered my little survey so far. I asked the same thing on the protein power board and so far it looks like my 2 hours are average. Some people spend a little more, some a little less but a lot of people are also right around the 2 hour mark. I think I may want to get into this professionally at some point so that is probably a good thing to know. I went to they gym last night. I wore my ankle brace and my ankle doesn't hurt as much this morning so I guess that means it's helping. Have a good day everyone. Thursdays are my most dreaded day of the week. |
Hey Gals,
Oh what a morning. My house is almost finished but now I feel like every day its something I have to argue about. Today it was the tile, its been the tile a lot, at first they couldn't do what I wanted so they made me pick somting else. Then I stoped by and they got what I had originally wanted but, I have bout wallpaper and everythign else to match the new stuff. I told then not to but it in, it wsn't going to match blah blah blah...So .... long story short, they have to take out the other stuff. what a pain. and I'm totally PMSing, I think I put on like 5 pounds of bloat. I've been OP, no candy or anything but I'm totally bloated.... arrrgh...Hopefully the day gets better. Jennie |
Hi Pic's.
How is everyone today? Haven't heard from a few of us lately....hope you're okay!!! Jennie....ohhhh, I can feel your frustration just reading your post. I hope it all works out....men!!! If they only write it down, then they would remember what we want...right? Forget about them and find some time for yourself to unwind and take a break. Petra.....Good for you on going to the gym! ankle shmankle..... Zoey.....the trick to catching up with all the reading is to post often! That way you don't fall behind. We ARE a bunch of chatty cathy's!! ;) Valerie....how did your chiro/massage appt go? I hope it helped your back. Iwmonn.....Is today a good day at work? no temptations? hope so, stay OP Curly.....How you feeling GF? I wish I could send you some of my homemade chicken soup....cures anything that ails you!! Get better soon. L2L......You too....are you feeling any better? Hopefully today is the recovery day to get back your strength and keeping something in your tummy.TOPS will be there when you are better....you are going to get better right? |
Hi PIC's!
I hope everyone is having a great day! The weather here in chicago was like 70! My chiro app was good. I love the massage part. I do get self conscious though about my weight. My husband brought his 5 bags of halloween candy to work and it was all gone in one day! You think people would be sick of candy by now. I'm having my favorite afternoon snack lowfat yogurt with frozen rasberries and splenda. |
Hi alla you P'sIC,
Well Let's see.... it's so nasty out today. All rainy and gloomy. But I guess that's why I like it here. It's so beautiful and green the rest of the time :) I went to the foot dr. today and we've scheduled minor surgery for Dec. 1! Yayyy I won't have to put up with this silly toenail much longer. I've had the procedure before on the other foot so I know I'll only be "down" for a couple days... meaning I'll be able to work, but probably not be bouncin' around in my tennierunners. I weighed today.... and I didn't gain. But I didn't lose either. Again, I'm not unhappy about it. But this is my first week without a loss. I'm gonna get back on the horse and do it like I did it in the beginning. Maybe I do need to spend more time each day on this whole thing :chin: You all be good, and I'll see y'all in the funny papers.... :grouphug: |
Just a quick pop in before I head to bed. Good night all.....
Iwmonn.....Some weeks are just like that. A maintain. Keep at it without getting frustrated and next week you'll probably have a **whoosh**. :crossed: Petra.....Not sure if you've been over to Jillians questions, but she's got a reply back to your body fat question. |
Oops
Totally forgot to post today. WTH? :o I was OP again today. And my water intake was great. Again, I did NOT manage to exercise, but I played one or two of the step/aerobics cassette (audio) tapes (while I cleaned house) and the beats are great :carrot: Perhaps a bit too "techno" for my tastes, but probably doable. That IS if I can make myself DO it. On a good note, I did more house work and continue to organize and "Flylady" my house. Making sure my bed is made and my sink shines every day before I leave for work. My Barenaked Ladies DVD "The Barenaked Truth" came today. I took it to work and watched it. And an officer came in and said since it looked like a "movie night" he brought me a movie to watch: "Frailty" with Bill Paxton and Matthew McConaghey. It was really good and really creepy. Okay, it's Turtle's bedtime. I'll check in with you lovely chickees later today. I hope our ailing birds are getting better!
