Good Morning PIC Diva's!!! RISE 'N SHINE!!! :coffee:
Today I was up at 6 am....Whats up with that? **yawn** and the boys were up about 20 minutes later!!! How long before we all get used to the time change? Petra.....Are you and your dogs sleeping thru yet? I was in bed nice and early (actually was falling asleep on the couch at 9:30...lol) so I just went to bed after that. Today is my rest day as per Jillian's book, and all I can say is THANK GOD!!! Turns out 2 of my excercises weren't exactly as I should have been doing them, and yesterday I corrected them. OUCH!!! I guess its time to pack away all the Halloween yard stuff.....and that time of year to clean up the garage. Ol' angel-eyes wants to be able to park her car in the nice warm comfy garage!!! ;) Have a great day everyone!!! p.s.........Great pics Valerie, nice to see you !! |
Morning
Good morning PIC Divas! How are you all? I've got a puffy face and swollen eyes again, but I'm feeling pretty good. The knee continues to improve and I'm barely even limping. It still "comes apart" when I take my weight off of it and sometimes it "grabs" me in a loud pop, but I'm so relieved it's so much better. :carrot: Now if I can get over my fear and suck it up to start exercising. Yesterday was an OP day with food and I upped my water nicely. Good job Turtle. But the exercise is still the elephant in the room that I'm avoiding.
I have an exercise ball, I could do exercise on IT and even tons of weight training moves without even USING my knee. I bet if I think about it, I could find millions (okay, maybe not millions) of ways to exercise without even using the knee. But truthfully, I think I should start USING it. Albeit slowly and carefully at first. But it must be incorporated into some form of exercise. Even though I've been watching myself for the last few days, my stomach (late in the evening) is so bloated and huge that my pants are about to burst off of me. I can hear the seams screeching and my pockets are practically inside out. This is odd to me as they don't feel that tight earlier in the day. My fingers aren't swollen, so I'm not sure if this can be water weight or bloat. My face and eyes are swollen in the morning, but I don't think that just my belly can bloat by late evening. Well, losing weight can only HELP. So MOVE IT TURTLE :drill: :coach: :tread: :rollpin: :wl: :ebike: :dancer: :strong: :carrot: I wish all of the PIC Chicks a wonderful Wednesday. I shall check in on you from work. PS I saw Purple Rose 1964 in another thread. I PM'd her, but she hasn't responded yet. No word on our other missing Chickies? |
GDay one and all !!
Just wanted to check in and say  to everyone. I am finding it hard to keep up with this busy group, but enjoy taking a few minutes out of my busy schedule to see how you are all doing. Some great results on the Halloween Challenge, congrats to you all :bravo: Well I best get moving.... so until next time...take care and keep on keeping on :D |
Hi Turtle....you would be surprized as to what you can do on the ball ;) ...haha, no really!! A couple of classes at the gym and I was amazed. Most times I have a real problem with pushups due to my wrists and I find them alot easier with (my friend) the ball. From what I gather, all the instructors say it promotes "core" strengthening....okay...your TUMMY muscles people!! So I would just say....go for it!!! :carrot:

Hey Ladies,
its hump day!! My son slept over at my parents last night becuase I worked late so I got to have a lazy morinig, since I only had my self to get ready. I did what is ussually a weekend work out since I had extra time. Plus since the clocks turned back, its nice a bright in the moring, well not bright but at least light out. I'm doing OK with food. Last night after work, I was so hungry and its an hour drive home. I wanted to wait and eat at home but I just couldn't make it. I stoped at sheetz(convience store kind of place) and got a grilled chicken fajita wrap, it wasn't exactly core but, it wasn't that bad. then I got home and I was tempted to get a piece of candy but I talked my self out of it!! yeah, I ussually would just say oh one wont hurt but instead, I told my self I'd be much happier if I didn't have any and just went to bed. whoo hoo! NSV, resisting temptation, now if I can just make it through New Years! Hope everyone has a good day. ttyl Jennie |
OHHHHHHHHHH sheetz has the BEST grilled chicken salads!!!

I got my cholesterol results today ladies. All things considered, I think you guys will be impressed. In case you didn't know, I have a really strong family history of heart disease. My biological mother had her first heart attack in her 40's, she's also already had a stroke and she is in her early 60's (the people I consider my parents are my foster parents). My biological father died suddenly at age 62-probably either a heart attack or stroke. My younger sister already has type II diabetes and high blood pressure so I have TERRIBLE genes.
My fasting glucose was 87-pretty darn good. Total cholesterol-204, Triglycerides-85, HDL-52, LDL-135. For those who don't know what to look for, Total cholesterol should be <200, Triglycerides <150?, HDL >40, and LDL <130 unless you have diabetes or have already had a heart attack. I'm a little unsure of the triglyceride number but I know mine is fine. I don't think anyone will run out and put me on a statin with those numbers. By the time I get to goal, they should be ideal but I'm pretty happy with them for someone who is still 50 lbs overweight and with my family history. Also, remember, about 50% of my diet is fat and most of that is saturated fat so don't believe everything you read about that either. |
Morning All!! I am still having a hard time getting my exercise in because TOM is paying me a really hard visit this month. I am still losing though because my eating is on track.
Jennie - Great job resisting that candy!!! I know that can be so hard. Angel - I have a ball but have never been able to figure out what to do with it. I guess I need to get it out and get busy! The older 2 kids took the baby out trick or treating and I stayed home and passed out candy since dh works nights. She was Snow White and looked so cute. When she came home she helped me pass out the candy. TLB - Hi to you Girlie  Hotcup - We seem to be in the same boat on the exercise. :dizzy: I am going to try to get somthing in today. Petra - Maybe I need to read Dr. Phil to find out why I can't get off my lazy butt. Valerie - Is your back feeling any better yet? Curly - You crack me up on your announcement from the local animal shelter. :D |
From what i have read... all the earlier reports about Fat in the diet are turning out to be false.. and that it is SUGAR that causes heart problems.. and increases the bad cholesterol...
But they say its the combination of eating high carb foods along with the fat.. as in a steak with a potato, or steak with bread ... they say now u can eat the fat just dont combine it with carbs or sugar.. |
ummm Angel said to da turtle:"you would be surprized as to what you can do on the ball"
oh my look out Jay! :o |
Gooooood morning...errr afternoon to somea ya,
Laundry day, yuk! I was up by 7:30 this morning. I woulda stayed in bed reading for a couple hours and been extremely happy but- good ol' dh had other thoughts. Ahhhh no- nothing so fun a "THAT" hehehehee... just wanted to see me get cuz he was I guess  whatevahhhhhh. Yesterday I had to go to town & since I was out&about, I took a little drive up the coast. Took a little walk on the bluff, went to the pier and hung out watching some surfers then drove up this one road I never went on before.... it was sure a pretty drive :) I never did do my WATP video, but I will do it today. I gotta get back in the groove! Val~ great pics GF. I also was checking out some of your other albums. WOW there are some peeps I haven't seen in ages... I really miss those days, and those people. It seems soooooo long ago. :comp: Next time you guys vacation to Cali, you need to come farther north! You should check out my page... which i'm still workng on btw.. www.quiknet.com/dks. Maybe I'll get it updated a lil bit today, hmmmmmm. Petra~ I love Dr. Phil. I look for his books whenever I get to the 2nd hand stores in the city. Haven't found one yet and that kinda tells me it's a good book. I have tried the Carb Countdown milk and I find it too thick (for lack of a better word) for drinking. If I could find it in pints or quarts I'd probably use it more but I think I'm ok by limiting my intake of 2%. The other thing I used to do is when I was thirsty, reach for the milk. Now I reach for water. I don't wanna start bad habits again. btw, congrats on those awesome numbers! Turtle~ Heh, I have a ball too, and I'm sure it would be easy to check online for exercises but I just haven't done it yet. If I do, I'll let you know what I find. Good luck to ya GF! :cheer: Curley~ Ya got me lookin at adopt-a-dog sites. I want a dog nowwwwwwww. hehehe.. but I'll wait for the right time. :^: AllaYaAll else that I didn't get to- Good luck with the day!!! Have fun and be happy! :grouphug: |

I'm alive...I've got the flu...But I'm breathing
Hey all, just a quick post...I have had the flu since Monday night. :stars: :barf: and let me tell ya ladies, it's swell. This is not exactly the weight loss approach I was hoping for. Didn't get to TOPS which makes me  I thought I would keep this 'stuffy head, runny nose, itchy ears, tooth pain, gut rot' all to myself...you should always do a kind deed every day. I am so sick the cats won't even come by me, and I haven't even had the energy to turn the t.v. on....now that's a 180.
Take care of all of you... :grouphug: |
oh my..... L2L, I hope you start to feel better soon!! {{hugs}}
Iwmonn......Fabulous pics GF!! Where do you live? in a wildlife sanctuary? We used to have deer running through our backyard also. I wish I had had my camera when a baby fawn came right up to our backdoor. Thanks for sharing. Curly.....Yikes!!! you too?? Hope you are feeling better soon also. This must be the time of year. Take a nice hot bubble bath tonight to help your achey body and help with your stuffiness. oh yeah...tell Jay he better be nice to you or he'll have to answer to all of us!!! |
