No, just making them for family and friends at this point. I'll let you know if I branch out beyond that. The cajun ones are pretty good too. Not as hot as I expected--maybe should have put more cayenne in them.

Valerie Joy 10-29-2005 11:00 PM

Curly that is a really nice web page! You did a good job on it!

iwmonn 10-29-2005 11:10 PM

Whew, that's a lot of posts! I really enjoy that about this group.

Petra~ I've got to say the candied nuts are out of this world. My biggest problem is not eating too many of them. I was kinda disappointed to see how many calories are in them. *sigh* but they are better than eating a handful or two or a bag of M&M's!

jhiraqua~ Having dinner out with family isn't unthinkable :) Sounds like you did awesome actually!!!! We'll all have to deal with dining out on foods we may not pick if it were our choice. At least it wasn't an Ice cream parlor birthday party! :woo:

L2L~ Your tag line says it all. "Me First"!!! Got your mind in a proper place. Vent if you need to, or laugh or cry or whatever makes you feel good. Just always remember 'Me First' and you'll come out ok. to You!

Val~ Great idea to have a nice walk after pizza. You should look in to the Walk Away The Pounds videos.... they are fun and low stress. Easy for when your weather gets nasty too!

Turtle~ Getting pulled over is no fun. I think we all have that one get out of jail free card. hahaha... glad to hear you got to use yours.

Curley~ Man I wish I'd find that killer deal on the Gazelle. I want one *said in my best whiney voice*... I get nothing now for Christmas or Birthdays for like 12 years cuz of the new car. :dizzy:

DeeRod~ WoooHOOOOO! 4 lbs is awesome! Congrats :encore:

TeaEllaBee, MomX3, Zoey, Angel Eyes, Lisa_WYand anyone I'm missing. heh I think I need a list too!

Hugs to you all and thanks for being here :grouphug:

curlylocks 10-30-2005 04:07 AM

well they are havin the sale today too .. but i think it would cost as much to ship it as to buy a new one lol... yahoo has a group called "freecycle" and u can join in your own area and u just email the group with what u are lookin for... u should try it and ask for a Gazelle i am sure there is someone who would just like it out of their livin room.... cant hurt to try!

petra65 10-30-2005 07:53 AM

iwmonn-glad you are enjoying the nuts. I told you if you tried these you wouldn't miss your junk. They may have a lot of calories but they are also full of heart healthy monounsaturated fats, fiber, protein, have no sugar in them, and are low in carbs. Can you say that about any candy?

I don't think I'm going to church today. Just chillin. I think I"m going to make my butternut squash soup, try to go to the gym even if I only get to lift some weights.

Check in with you all later.

Gearing up for the Turkey Take off .. and have set my goal at 12 lbs

Iv'e had my week of no exercise so now its time to get back to business..

looking2lose 10-30-2005 08:46 AM

Just a quick checkin before I get started on some housework... :barf: There is so much dust in my living room that I could gather it all up and make nice scarves for my friends!! LOL

I set up my Turkey Take-Off Ticker...for 11 pounds. I go to my first TOPS meeting on Tuesday night, and I am really looking forward to it (DGF is still steaming....went to the store last night and picked up some Lean Cuisines for lunch...and some different things....like fruit and vegetables...I could hear her gruntin, I could have done that for you...well, the stoves getting cobwebs, and my heiny is getting bigger..fine thanks LMAO).

Gobble Gobble Goal....here I come. Tomorrow morning, I will start getting back into the swing of my exercise program with Richard in the a.m. Better wear loose fitting clothes, cuz the rubbin of my extremities may start sparking!! hehehe.

I woke up today with this sense of "Get the :censored: of out my way, this train is pullin out!!"

Have a great day all. I have a Halloween family party today, but I have promised myself I am not going to graze :moo: I am going to choose sensible portions on a sensible plate, and no second helpings...I need nourishment for lunch, not gut rot!

Take care ladies, talk to you soon.

(see, I think I found my sense of humor...funny the things that happen when you put your focus on yourself, huh?)

Hugs to all!

p.s. ~~CURLEY~~ Master of animation and artistry, will you please help me find a dragonfly avatar? I am missing the boat on finding one, and making it fit in the avatar dimensions. Whenever you have time. Thank you. ;)

Morning Pic-a Chick-a's !!!

Who was the one with the pizza :jeno: temptation? I found this good pizza in the frozen food isle and the numbers are pretty good considering its...PIZZA!! ww pts come out to 2pts per 1/6 slice. Cal=140; fat=5gr; carb=15gr; fibre=8gr and protein=13gr. It is a 4 cheese/whole wheat crust made by A.C. LaRocco. I had to fight my boys off of eating it, so that says something!!! :D

ZING ZING....the challenge is all but over!!! :) I'll weigh in tommorow and see what the tally is. GOBBLE GOBBLE!!...is everyone in for the next challenge?

Curly........You did an excellent job on that website! Quite talented you are!!

L2L.....WHOA...Everyone get out of HER WAY!!! :coach: GF, you are PUMPED!!! Who care about your friend, this is ALL ABOUT YOU!!! Have fun at the halloween party, and just like you said.....one plate, and resonable portions. Another tip that I do....is as soon as you're done, either discard your plate/utensils or put your napkin on top to signal that you're done. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Valerie......Pumpkins and squirrels? who knew? Did you have a good time last night with going out? Gosh, its been ages since dh and I went out. Hazards of moving to a new place and trying to find a sitter.

momX3 10-30-2005 11:24 AM

I went to Curves yesterday morning so I'm finally getting back into it :carrot:. Now though TOM decided to come and visit so I feel like crap!! That also means that my weight it going to be up tomorrow when I weigh in. Oh well it also means that next week I'll be back down. I would like to be down 8 for the Turkey Take-Off. I will create a ticker when I weigh tomorrow.

I am finally getting around to fixing up our bedroom. I went out yesterday and got a new bedspread, shams, pillow, bed skirt and curtains but I need to get some more of the curtains. One of the windows is bigger then I thought!! Now all I have to do is get the baby out of our room and back into hers.

I am going to take the baby to the mall today for Trick or Treat Street. She is going to be Snow White. Sooo Cute!!

Angel - ME, ME!! I have been craving pizza. I have been buying the boboli whole wheat pizza shells and making my own pizza.

L2L - You go Girl!!! Don't let anything stop you now!

Curly - Excellent job on the 9 lbs lost for the Halloween Challenge . It's to bad you found the Gazelle after the fact. The page for the soaps is amazing!!!

Petra - I love hearing about all the new nuts your coming up with!! I like some of the 70's clothes. I was just telling my dd the other day that if I would have saved my clothes from back then she would be the best dressed girl in school. ;)

iwmonn - I know what you mean about this group!! It has been busy since the first day it was started. We are not on the second page very often.

Valerie - Sorry to hear about that lady blowing you off!!! That sucks! Have fun at the concert.

Dee - Congratulations on the 4 lbs lost!!! It's great to see back.

Hotcup - Perhaps the nice police officer just wanted to flirt a little bit!! Something about that whole scene just does'nt pan out KWIM??

Angel - So sorry to hear about the little one being sick! There is nothing worse then a sick child. I hope he feels better soon.

TTYL Ladies.

Valerie Joy 10-30-2005 02:30 PM

Hi everyone!

I didn't go out last night. Unfortunatly while walking yesterday I rolled my foot on a stick and when catching myself I jerked my back. It's been really bad today. When I get up it's really hard to straighten my back out. My butt is really swollen and hard with inflamation. I'm thinking maybe I need to see a regular doctor about this. I'm keeping up with icing the area.

My weigh day is tomorrow but I checked today and I went up 4 pounds in a day! I'm going to be up on my weigh in tomorrow and there is no reason for it? I've been good with the eating.

I was wondering I just got my period yesterday. Does that cause you to gain weight? Or possibly my really inflamed muscles in my back and butt are causing a weight gain?

I hope everyone is having a nice sunday. I'm just at home nursing my painful back.

petra65 10-30-2005 04:03 PM

Valerie-I think you better go to a doctor, that doesn't sound good. Sounds like you might have torn something. Yes, your period and the inflammation may both have caused you to retain fluid and made your weight go up so don't worry about it. Get yourself healthy.

I made my butternut squash soup but I think I used too much chicken broth for the amount of squash I had so it was a little thinner than I like but the flavor was pretty good.

I went to the gym and did all the weights which took about 25 minutes. Then keeping in line with Jillian's philosophy that it only pays to spend at least an hour in the gym, I walked on the treadmill for 35 minutes but I didn't crank the incline up as high as I usually do. Hopefully, I didn't hurt my ankle much more than it already was.

I got 2 new diet books today--The Mediterranean Diet, and Dr. Phil. Believe it or not, I haven't read Dr. Phil yet. I started with the Mediterranean one. Mostly it is a lot of nutrition information. Most diet books are light on the nutrtion and this one goes overboard I think. They are also really harping on "saturated fat is bad for you and causes heart disease." Even the studies they are quoting were all done in people eating high carb diets--that's the whole problem with that argument. There is no proof that eating a lot of saturated fat on a low carb diet leads to high cholesterol and heart disease (big nutritional controversy). In fact, most people on low carb diets actually have their cholesterol levels go down even if they are eating a lot of saturated fat. I'll let you know how mine turns out because I eat a lot of saturated fat. I'll get off my soap box now.

curlylocks 10-30-2005 05:17 PM

yep i read that u can have the fat.. as long as u are not eating it with carbs or sugars

curlylocks 10-30-2005 05:29 PM

L2L: a few dragon flies
