Hi all,
Quick post, DH has been keeping me too busy. The evenings just fly by as do the weekends and I am desperately trying to get enough sleep rather than frittering away time on the computer at night. So I'm sorry I haven't been around.

March is here, new month. Try again.

Mel, I see from the weather channel that there's a huge snow storm covering the east coast. I assume you are affected. Will I see pictures on the news tomorrow of a blonde lady hanging out the window heaving snow balls at firemen?

Teel, I hope that your scooter can get fixed without you having to take in boarders in order to pay for it!

Shad, I called in a ticket to the help desk and the person who called back must have been Australian. I had the worst time understanding her. Couldn't decide if she was British or Australian. While warming my lunch today I found that she was standing right next to me waiting on the microwave. I decided she had to be Australian as she used several phrases that I've heard you say. Like "bits". Bits is not a word we use much here but I've heard you use it enough that I immediately think of you when I hear it.

We had one azalea bud on one of the bushes. Tonight it is very windy and cold - just a 3 hour ride north and we'd be looking at snowflakes too. I really hope the wind doesn't knock our first bud off. DH would be crushed. Things are starting to bloom here, I can tell in a few weeks it's going to be very very pretty here. The pink dogwoods are already blooming - one of my favorite trees.

I can't find my iron. Shad would you send yours over please? I just have the travel iron which is no threat to serious wrinkles. Ah well, time to myself to bed before I lay awake listening to strange sounds from the strong winds.

Night all and a hello to Suzi, Linus, Holly, Tig, Nae, Meadow, Teel, Shad and Mel.

PS. I only saw "bits" of the oscars but I thought it was a rather boring show this year.

oh Mel. I hope you feel better soon and are back on board. YOu poor thing, sending out many positive healing thoughts.
Teel yes.140 as of today. I lept for joy when I hopped on those scales and saw those numbers. It's so cool and when you put it like that only 10 lbs to go! Yaaay.
It's been a while since I have even been 140.
I have two points for the week and looking for more. I changed the scale thing for a while I seem to have an ugly relationship with it, hopefully if I don't think about it it won't be an issue.
I just posted the weirdest journal entry. It sounded all positive and then just went down hill, there are definitely things going on in this brain mine I need to seek peace and friendship.

Teel, so glad to hear the ankle is healing. Ooooh ahhhh on the scooter though. I wonder whether you will see it back before you go on holiday. Are they going to ring you with a quote - or do they just fix it and charge accordingly?

Suzi, glad to see you getting closer and closer to the magical figure. Keep it up, keep going. We need to have someone here to celebrate with and cheer on and in 'goal'.

Mel - hope the snowmen haven't got to you and that you are tucked up nice and warm. I have to tell you that summer is on the way. We are noticing a cooling off at night over here and also the sun is shifting on the horizon as well as getting up later and later. So for all you Northerners. It is coming.

Holly - good stats. Look - you are disappearing before our very eyes. It's one reason why I like to keep my results. I look back and see how far I have come and that stops me from getting too depressed on the 'lack' of immediate progress. It comes slow.

Happy - so you have a furriner in your midst at work. Why did you not ask her where she was from? Most people don't get excited about telling folk that they are from downunder or uptop! Listen carefully to her. Does she say bits as in a cross between bit and but or does she say bit as a cross between bit and bet. The first is a New Zealander, the second an Aussie. If she bites off the word and pronounces the t properly she is probably English - although if she comes for Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham or Yorkshire, even Teel probably has trouble understanding her. She could of course be Irish or Scots but hey. It's probably safer to ask than to guess!!! You could start WW111.

The project at work is winding down. There will probably be no extension after March. It's very unlikely. So back to looking again sooner rather than later. A recruiter rung me today about a job with the Queensland Government. However now that she has sent the job specs and the riders I am pretty sure I will not be putting in for it. I would have to commit to the contract and the extensions even though they may decide not to renew, but they don't have to tell me until the due date! Come on! I have to submit a skills set - a what!!!!! a resume on the resume so to speak. How bloody ridiculous - can't they read a resume or cv. Go away! I don't think I am interested. The entire job description runs to 5 pages, most of which is repeated at least twice. No wonder nothing much gets done around the joint.

After yesterdays walk around town, I decided to do weights tonight. I've upped the number of repetitions in a set to see if it will move things a bit. What with a change in food patterns as well, I'm hoping for at least some movement. Up or down - anything would be good. I am so sick of the sound of 72.

Tonights dinner was a casserole of mushrooms and kransky sausage (spicy) and was quite nice. I chucked in the last of the feta as well. Quite enjoyed that.
Since I was picking up my boss this morning, I decided against the gym early and did the ironing and folded the washing instead. So now that that is done, my iron can be parcelled up and sent to Happy who has lost hers in the move.

It seems my baby beetroot are about ready to pick. They are pushing the bulby things (tubers??!!) above the ground so I reckon that means they are getting there. Might just have to pick a couple tomorrow and see what they taste like. Love beetroot as long as I am not wearing white.

Well I best away and spend some time doing some bits around the house I have been promising myself for some time. Have a good day/ night wherever you happen to be.

Meadow, Meadow, Meadow~ did you see and hear Antonio singing on the Oscars with Carlos Santana. Woohoo!!

Linus~ I doubt the mood swings need explaining. You are pregnant! How is the mouth healing up? How is the back holding up and how is the wee bun in the oven??

Teel~ glad to hear you are somewhat mobile.Yikes on the scooter. It's a tropical -2C today!!!

Suz~ I wrote a novel in your journal.(((HUG)))

Shad~ it is nice to connect with an equal. Glad it was a good time. Enjoy your beets ( if that is possible, LOL)

Mel~ did you rest??

Nae~ how are you managing?

Hello to all!!

It’s a catch 22 for me. I have 2 little guys here that came at 6:15 am. I was up at 6. It is so nice to have an extra hour in the morning. The part I dont like is Hubby and the kids are up too. They yammer and blast the weather channel and stomp around the house. I am basically dysfunctional for the first half hour.
I also need to get to bed at least by 10pm to get enough sleep. That limits my alone time in the evening and the TV shows I like to see are usually on at 10.
The kids will get busy shortly too. All four will be playing in full swing and there is still 2 hours til the bus comes.

It is hardly a big deal, just thinking out loud.

I have really itchy eyes and a stuffy nose. A few of the kids had this last week and had crusty eyes. On me it ages me about 10 years, YIKES. No thank you!

I wrote an article for the church news letter yesterday about bullying and our kids and what we could do about it. I am proud of how it turned out. I thought about posting it but it is really long.
The meeting here went well.
The kids got under my skin but the was me feeling yucky. I had another Mom take DD to dance. I flaked on the couch with DS.He was tired and crabby too, into bed by 7:30 for him.
I only nibbled at supper and didn’t snack. I tidied, watched Idol and into bed by 9:15.
I dont feel particularily rested. Quiet day with the 3 toddlers. I may nap this aft.
No plans tonight.
We were supposed to have a big storm. We have had a few inches of snow but it is not blowing and the road looks bare. More in supposed to be on the way.

This is rather dull. Maybe dull is good today.

Have yourself a happy day!

Well hi to all. This will probably be quite a quick postie just to say hi to everyone.

I have my scooter back...hooray!! It turned out to be a very little thing such as something got dislodged between the motor and the "translator"!! Thats the drive shaft to you and me!!

The ankle feels like it is back to square one and beyond it today. I guess because I thought it was better yesterday I went and did too much on it yesterday. Silly me will do for what I am thinking.

Hello Happy my friend. Great to see you here back among us at last!!I am glad you are too far south for the snow. We are due some more tonight or tomorrow.

I had a phone call from my support worker this morning. I had mistakenly thought she might have been able to help me as I am running out of food. Not that it matters 'cos I haven't much of an appetite recently. Anyway she said she was off Thursdsay and Friday this week so could meet up with me today or tomorrow. Thats a fat lot of good seeing as I can't get out of the house. Anyway I explained I should be having a blood test on Thursday so another support worker is going to take me.Good-oh.

Linus I hope things have settled down A LOT in your house. Cannot be doing your blood pressure much good. I will leave it to you to expound on what the DS has been up to now...suffice to say he has managed to get himself excluded AGAIN!

I might not be able to get online tomorrow as I have workmen in to remove a spare sink and shower in the spare room. I will be glad to have the space. So I will be in when I can.

Take care all.
Love from Teel.

More workmen at Teels!! I'm jealous!!! Glad the scooter got fixed and hope it wasn't too much $$$!!! I had a great alugh at the "eye" post!!! ;rofl: glad it's all sorted out now! I seem to be **** bent on hurting myself this month. Keep the ankle UP!!!

Shad~ Good luck with the recruiters and resumes. Seems like just yesterday we we saying this! the time really flew by! Any news on NZ??? If you're gonna make a move that far might as well come to the States!!!

Suzi~ congrats on the scale! 140!!!!! Very nice work!!! Take some old Motherly advice and find a way out of the house and see new faces! It really does work. You might not feel "up to it" but push yourself. ((((HUGS)))) and I think a lot about you!

Holly~ Congratulations on the measurements! WOW!!! Very nice numbers!! I love when they at least go down! Have some "me" time in between all those kiddies!

Happy~ I will gladly send you my iron. t's brand new and under the sink collecting dust! I wish someone would "lose" mine!!! With all the work at home and office it will take awhile to settle into a routine. We just love to see you when the time is there
Linus~ Hope you are taking care of yourself while 'things" are going on!!!!

Nae and Meadow~ Thinking of you both

The neck is better but not 100% yet. One more day. Wish I would stop hurting myself! Tomorrow is arts and crafts day. With Fran's help we should make it through the Bunny Pot!!! We need some Easter smileys!!! Not doing a lot today so I can make it through the whole day tomorrow.....or at least till 3pm! Very wet 6" of snow. It won't last long. No food shopping today for me either. Will go Friday. Have a great day

Good morning everyone...it's amazing what a good nights sleep does. It must have been all those wonderful thoughts sent my way. Thank you so much, they really make a difference.
Holly , thank you for your kind words. I came back just before bed last night and read them. It really is a matter of connection with me. I talked to DH about it. I didn't want to worry him but I am so glad we talked. We went for a walk late and it was the best thing we could have done. I'm so glad we can talk.
Mel, thank you too. Yes you are right. I think at times I am guilty of making mountains out of mole hills. I am a dramatist and am sure I was meant to be on the stage. Still there is "stuff" to sort out but it does look more in perspective today.
I volunteer 2 days a week and today is one of those days. It will be good to see my work "friends".
Shad. did I see something about a shift back to NZ? Wow that's a big one. You need to do what is right for you. I hope you find peace in your decisions. Even though I am honesick for me it's more about people than "home". I know when we went back last time I felt so displaced. It's a strange feeling kinda nomadic.
Linus, thinking of you and hoping you find peace. I know how teenagers can be. I think I have 3 and one of them is 9. Moment by moment my friend.
Teel, yaay for the scooter being fixed. It's great to be mobile again. Do take it easy with the ankle of yours. They take ages to heal. I did a similar thing about 5 months agao and I still find it aches at times.
Happy it's great to see you. How nice that you have been "busy" with DH. It's lovely to have that time ...easy to miss it by just being.
Mel I have workman coming too, two Italians!
Must fly into the day. Enjoy yours and your evenings.

Quickie - I'm going out to dinner and must get some bits and pieces done before then. It's a long drive to dinner but I do it because I am networking with friends and this can lead to work.

Suzi I am not at this time thinking about shifting home. I spoke earlier about some opportunities for work in the Netherlands - Netherlands/ New Zealand???? That's okay, either one will do!!!! Maybe I should have said Holland!

I spoke the other day about someone ringing me about work in Government and how I was not particularly impressed about the things I had to do to get a look in. Well they have been on the phone twice today once to ask why I haven't sent back any paperwork and the other to persuade me to send back paperwork. I whinged and *****ed about the so called skills set and they said but it is really easy, look I'll send you this one that got a lady a job and you can just follow it. The bloody thing is eight pages long - almost the same size as my resume. It basically is my resume cut and pasted into a different format. I feel like ringing them up and saying this is @#$%^#$ ridiculous. They must be desperate to find someone to fill these spots. They did say that another company was aggressively marketing for the Gvt agency people and getting them!! - probably because they pay a halfway decent salary.

So I will go out tonight and have a chat with my friends and see if I can do anything sensible when I get back. Long ago I learnt that to act on impulse for work is not the done thing. Que sera sera.

Gotta go. Thai dinner on the waterfront tonight with a bloke and his wife and a rather dishy young Greek god. See ya

Oh shad...lol the blonde is at it again. I read NZ in Mel's post and thought maybe?
Ntherlands sounds interesting though. My bro lives in Holland, just outside Amsterdam in a place called Castricum. He likes it and has lived there for 20 years. Uggg on the red tape. This seems to be so standard here in Aus. We find there are so much to do whenever you are trying to achieve something and even more so with government departments. It's silly.
Hope dinner was yum...Thai ...mmmmm
enjoy and have some Pad thai on me!

Hello.
Been to the g.p. this morning for him to examine the damage I have done to my ankle.
He is sending me off to x-ray to see if I have broken it.
Its painful and kept me awake most of last night.
So I will try and get a lift tomorrow up to casualty Later in the morning I have my kidney ultra-sound booked so it sounds like I will be up there in the department most of the day, especially if the ankle needs to be p.o.p.'d or strapped.....

How is everyone elses day going? Its the usual grey day here today but at least it is quite mild. My lovely neighbour took me to the g.p.,'s but then had to rush off to work for a late shift. Unfortunately she is on an early shift tomorrow so I cannot rely on her to ferry me around!!And then she and the family are off to sunny Tenerife for a week's catching the sun

Shad I am extremely jealous of you sitting by the waterfront munching through Thai noodles..(or should I say" slurping?"cos I cannot eat them delicately if my life depended on it!! ) I do hope you had a wonderful evening and enjoyed the conjovial company...if it was, that is!!I wonder where you will be in a few months time with your work? So do you, I guess!!

Well the two workmen have been and gone having de-tiled, de-sinked and done everything else workmen are meant to do. Now I need the tiler/decorator in to do his bit, but that will not be until I have a bit of spare cash in hand...at this rate possibly the year 2010!!!

Teel~ I must say I'm glad you're going cause I have been wondering the same thing. Good luck with xrays and test!! keep us posted. Wish I was going on holiday with your neighbors! Hope you get a ride and some relief from the pain.

I came back because I had forgotten TIG!! where are you Miss Tig and have you taken a wrong turn in the last race and gotten lost again?!?!?!?! It was very remiss of me to have missed your absence till now while I was blowdrying my hair! :YIKES:I said...OMG, TIG, WHERE IS TIG???
Hope all is well and you will come back to the sandbox and play!
