Tiredoffat I ran into an old friend while on the trip yesterday. Is your bike ride a thon to Boston from Maine? She is a teacher too and her friend is riding and she is going down to root her on. I just wondered if it was the same event in August? Well let me know it sounded really cool. I went grocery shopping today and bought some healthy stuff lots of fruits. I also picked up some stuff to make a special stew a friend makes with squash and Italian sausage and lots of veggies. It is so easy I had it before and want to freeze some for those nights I don't feel like cooking and it would be good lunches. I had a fun time at the casino and only lost 30.00 bucks not bad I played a long time. It was fun and lots of laughs along the way great therapy! Humor is a wonderful medicine. I bought some bagels today that were lower in cals. the frozen ones okay in a pinch. I figure it will knock off 100 cals. Well talk to you soon hope you have a lovely weekend. I swim for exercise today 4 hours in the pool with the kids it must count for something? It was hot about 91 today.

Hi Carol and Judy.

No, that's not my race, but that race sounds like a lot of fun too. I'll look into it.

Tough eating day today.

I was rushed with a family-related issue so I just grabbed whatever was nearby when I was hungry. These days are going to happen. I got a lot done on the family issue, I'm sufficiently full and tired. Tomorrow I'll be ready for a new and better day.

Thanks for being here with all your great stories and suggestions. Cutting calories everywhere like your bagels really adds up to weight loss. Take care.

Tiredoffat don't forget I somtimes have to remind myself too that just cause we mess up part of our day its not a throw in the towel day. Sometimes in the past I used to and still do at times think oh well I already messed up and then have a free for all day. Just a reminder I need it too. Part of the learning new style of living and making changes is alot of trial and error. But its a learning process and through our whole lifes this is how we learn best. So forward we will go together to reach our goals. Judy hope your doing well. Stress in my life has always pushed me to the edge to eat. I love summer time and all the fresh fruits and veggies I could live off of just that and be happy. But I do love my barbecues. My 2 daughters and I are having a evening together on monday a 5:30 date to get a pedicure and manicure. I purchased my oldest a gift card last month for her birthday. Now she is giving her sister and I one. We added in the manicure for 10 more. Should be fun then off to dinner together. This will be our birthday celebration. I ususally take a day off from work but didn't this yr. we have a wedding on this friday so I took that instead. Busy week this will be. I have plenty of things left to do and the end of the month is coming quick. Where is our summer going so fast. I have done a lot of camping , swimming and kakyaing but still want more. I love this time of year. Well gotta fly. Clambake today. I am trying to enjoy myself. Oh the bagel frozen wasn't as good less cals. So next time I decided to have the better tasting and eat only 1/2. I will freeze them in 1/2's.

Hi Carol, what a fun summer you are having. Just think the pedicure and manicure treat is calorie free and fun! I want to think more about that kind of treat.

I'm definately back on track today. I started the day with a nice big healthy smoothie about 300 cals. Now I'm going to clean, clean, clean and tonight we're probably headed out to hear my brother in law's band.

I agree with your trial and error ideas - changing lifestyle is not a simple ordeal, it takes time. I appreciate your support. Take care and have a fun day.

Well maybe eating clams on an empty tummy wasn't so smart. Cause an hour later after consuming many dozen and a few other things. I became sick to my tummy. Well that ended over eating at the clambake. I couldn't even handle the smell of seafood. So not even on crab leg. Only had a piece of pineapple for dessert. I guess in a way you could look at it in a postive way less cals for the day. I consumed lots of ice water after a lemonade and diet pepsi still left me thirsty. So much for that eating event. I had a bowl of south beach cereal as a snack before bed. I could of done a lot worse yesterday had I not become ill. I think it had to do with the empty stomach. I only had a little bagel at 6:30 and we ate at 2:00 p.m.. Today I feel fine and have been trying to catch up with the house work. I will take a swim later on. I am going to work out in the a.m. cause my schedule on monday is crazy and then I am meeting my girls to have some fun. Yes Tired sometimes subbing something fun for food isn't a bad idea. Maybe we should try more often to try this? Glad you got back on track. I am going to pick some radishes and ck on the blueberries. I am going to make a peach cobbler later on but changing the recipe to make it a bit lighter. Have a great day.
Intake; It. french toast w/ blueberry syrup 400 cals.
Lunch: fruit/cottage cheese 150cals
Dinner barbecued chicken, salad, potatoes grilled with spices and a little olive oil., squash w/ onions sauted. 500 cals or so
Snack: peach cobbler lighter version hard to tell?????????????????????????
water intake at least 80 oz./ swimming

Hi Carol, too bad about the clams. Glad your on the mend. I had a topsy turvy weekend which left me ready for a good week ahead of eating right and exercise. The triathlon is only 13 days away and I've plenty of practice to do. I must say it is daunting. I'll be back tomorrow.

Tiredoffat just remember the end result to your hard work. That will be an accomplishment for sure. After all even with a topsy weekend the training must help balance things out. Your in it for more than one reason and will benefit for it in the end. I exercised in the pool 2 times yesterday. But I was naughty and ate a muffin my daughter sent over. So I most likely just balanced out. How dum the crazy lifestlye we live. The muffin was good but really not worth the calories I should of ate 1/2. But I didn't. I am dressed and ready for the gym this a.m. . I just jumped out of bed ironed my work clothes, put my gym stuff on and packed my lunch last night , ready to fly out of here on time this morning.
Intake; 1 slice toast 100, peach 45, yogurt 90
Lunch= blueberries in a salad, chicken grilled sliced , mozz. shredded, few croutons. total 250 w low cal dressing
Dinner out with my girls tonight! Who knows where yet or what we will decide to have.

Hi All,

I hope it's okay to come back. The dial on my scale keeps creeping
up and, physically, I don't feel very good. My clothes don't fit and my body
aches. So far, the only success with staying my course is from getting (and giving) support on this board.

I hope you'll forgive my absence. I know that it works much better when there is consistency in posting.

I haven't kept up with reading your posts but the last few sound like you have stayed in touch.

Well, I'm up to 176 now. Sooooooo. Time to wake up. I know this board is not designed for self flagellation, right?

I have started tracking my food on fitday.com again and I attended the water aerobics class today.

Talk with you soon.

Sorry for disappearing.

Woo-hoo! I'm back, and I feel like a new woman! If you will just bear with my absences for just a little bit longer, I promise you that I will be checking in faithfully come August 1.

My brother's visit was great, I was sad to see him go. I then had to buckle down at my old job so as not too leave too many question marks for the folks who will pick up the work after me. The good-bye lunches were relatively healthy, and I only had two beers at the happy hour, so not too much harm was done. Saturday I went to Curves, and then to the salon to get the works--pedicure, manicure and a facial--and I spent the rest of the weekend catching up on chores (or trying to, anyway) and making lists for the next two weeks. I didn't manage to do everything that I wanted to do, but it was a productive weekend, and laid the ground work for a good first day at my new job today. I danced in my apartment for half an hour this morning, which wasn't as good as going to the exercise room, but was better than sitting listening to NPR and reading the paper, which is what I really wanted to do!

Carol, I hope that you're enjoying your evening out! I feel terrible about the clambake, though. Being there and not eating must have been miserable! I love fresh seafood, I would have been in torment.

Tired, I'm also counting down to your triathalon. I'm so proud of you. What's your practice routine at this point?

Hiya, Roll! It's so nice to have you back. Instead of beating yourself up, I think you should congratulate yourself for stopping your slide and going back to doing what you need to do to continue on your path. That's the difference, I think, between success and failure: jumping back on the track with what you learned from the latest lapse. Good for you!

I will try to come back a few times before leaving town at the end of the week. I have a bit of privacy at my new job, so I should be able to check in more consistently. It really does help me to know that you are here.

Rollmdl I can't tell you how nice it was to see that you have returned. I agree with Judy coming back and realizing you needed to do something is a big step. We have all been there at one time or another . Welcome back and we have missed you. Just know that here we are pretty down to earth people and are realisitic. So welcome and lets all get back into the swing of things together. I had started to slip away from my normal gym days. Then knew even with all my other activities I need that type of exercise. So I have scheduled myself for 3 days this week in the a.m. . I did one yesterday and oh was I a bit sore last night. But that just goes to show me I had muscles that needed working. I have enjoyed getting back into the swing of things at the gym. I think I eat better when I work out. But last night I ate out with my girls to celebrate the birthdays. We had greek and it was great. I enjoyed a big gyro and some hummus and pita. I have to say I LOVED IT ALL. But today is today and I ate healthy for breakfast and lunch yesterday. We all went to have our pedicure it was fun. The guy I had was the best and gave me an extra treatment. My muscles were massaged and that was great. My footies feel great. We then shopped it was fun. But I left the house at 6:40 a.m. and didn't return until 10.00 pm it was a long day!
Breakfast: cereal w/ 1/2 banana 200 cals.
Snack: yogurt 90cals.
Lunch: salad w/ grilled chicken fresh blueberries, mozz.ch., croutons low cal dressing 250 cals. peach 50
Dinner: veggie stew w/ zucc. peppers. sausage. tomatoes. corn. 300cals?????????????? fruit watermelon 50

Hi all. Welcome back Roll. Good to hear from you Judy. Carol I'm glad you're here. It's a really busy week here and very, very hot and humid. I can't spend more than a minute now, but I'll be back later today.

I wish everyone a healthy happy day!

Good Morning All,

I'm going for some office skills training today. I'm pretty anxious
and excited. I normally let off steam by having ice cream after a stressful
activity.

I'm going to check in after the class.

Thanks for being here.

Hope you all have a good day.

Hi,
My total today was 1700.

It was an interesting day at the training school. My head was spinning when I left. I didn't overeat or have ice cream. I'm exhausted. Sorry for being so brief. I'll post in more detail tomorrow.

Thanks for being hereand for all the kind words.

Hello everyone. Well I am up and dressed for the gym day #2 I will reach my goal of 3 this week. I already feel better the gym is important and I need to make this extra effort. I didn't eat quite as planned yesterday but stayed with in 1600 calories. I had a piece of cheese cake at work. One girl brought it in at least I ate 2 little slivers of 2 choices among 6. I felt good that I had that much control. I ck'd the calories 380 so I counted in 200. I also didn't have my veggie stew but ate cereal and had a cuke for dinner from the garden. So over all it ended as an unharmed day of calories up a bit but not bad. I have a wedding to go to on friday night. I am looking forward to also taking that day off. Going to exercise and garage sale in the morning. Last week I was able to pick up some beautiful work clothes. Things I would never of paid for in the store. It was fun and under 10 dollars. The lady just wanted to clean her closet out I guess. Intake:sm. frozen bagel 150 w/lt. cc 35/ peach 50
yogurt 90
lunch= greens/ blueberries fresh/croutons/turkey/lt. salad dressing 250?grapes 70
dinner= corn on the cob120. little butter50/ and tuna sandwich on dk.
rye w/ lettuce/tomatoe 350 cals.
fruit bar 150 total 1400 cals
