Hey everyone,
It's been crazy today. One minute dh says we a still going on our trip. Then in just a few short minutes he's says "maybe we should wait till fall". I just wish he could make up his mind. Our marriage is one of those..."What do you want to do..I don't care whatever you want.. :blah: When I make up my mind he comes up with some reason to change the plan...It's his mother and brother we are going to check on. Thanks for letting me vent. :dizzy: Eating has been bad but it's not suprising because I'm a nervous eater. Later |
Correction! 3 lbs down! Oh yeah in the teens!!! Tiff I wieghed 8 times and every time in every spot...219lbs!!! Hot Damn! Thanks for the good Ju Ju!!
|
Hi Everyone,
Stevi: Congrats on getting into the 'teens!!! If Tiff's the secret to making the scales budge, send some good Ju Ju my way! Debbie: You're an inspiration with 77 lbs. lost. How long did it take? I've been on my diet for 7 days now and finally the scale budged...I'm down two pounds!!! I've been using an online site to record what I eat and it's really helping me limit my eating. If anyone wants to check it out it's fitday.com. I'm getting from 1200 - 1900 calories each day, but feel a little hungry at night. I don't think I've felt hungry in years! Hope your will power is holding strong over the weekend! This is usually when I want to curl up on the sofa, watch movies, and pig out. Joan |
Hey everyone,
I went to a wedding last night, thought it would be hard to be good. I was a little bad, it was turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. I only filled half my plate and barely ate that. The only other things I had in eaten in the morning at home was my morning shake and a little yogurt. I TOTALLY SKIPPED OVER THE CAKE AT THE RECEPTION!!!! I am in love with cake but I didn't even have one piece. I am sooo proud of myself. I consumed a few cocktails (vodka & diet coke) but even when I factored in those calories, I beleive I was under 1600 for the day. Not bad for a night out. They may not have been the best foods or beverages, but at least I didn't eat or drink them in excess. Well, I gotta run and pick up my kids, talk to ya all later. I'm sending enough JuJu out for everyone!!! |
Hello,
It is a hot day here in Ohio. I'm staying in the house until evening. I've got a bunch of TOPS stuff I'm working on. I was starting to feel a little overwhelmed by it so I thought it was a good idea to get it all done and out of the way. I'm not done with it yet but I needed a small break. I've got a walk planned this evening. I'll go about 8:30 p.m. when it's cooler. I can take heat; I just can't take the sun beating down on me. Tiff: Great job on skipping the wedding cake. I'm not sure I could have done it. Stevi: Great job at the scales!! Joan: I've used fitday before. It is a GREAT site..thanks for reminding me of it. Great job on the 1st loss you have had. Keep it up. Deb: Don't stress....don't be nervous...I don't want you to eat due to that emotion. Remember: I will control my emotions and not let my emotions control me. If you make it to Ohio..call me! Or call me anytime you need a hand up...or a kick in the pants! :) Holly: How are you feeling from the Yoga class now? Don't give it...that soreness you feel is your body working the way it should, the way it was designed to. Soon you will be feeling great. Ok..back to my TOPS project. Later, Susie |
I guess if dh doesn't change his mind overnite we leave as soon as he gets off in the morning. I will miss ya'll. Everyone have a great, sucessful week.
Susie: I'll call. I was praying for cooler weather but it looks like we are going to be disappointed. Joan: On Jan 4 2004. I weighed 306lb so it has been a long struggle. But now I know I can...and I will!!! :dancer: |
Good Evening Ladies,
Had a much busier day than yesterday. I try to get as much of the "Hard to bring the baby along stuff done" on the weekends as DH is with him but yesterday we all layed around and watched movies. So today I had to get in all in. Got a 4.5 walk/jog in. Finished in 76 minutes. HOOT! From that point on I was on a roll. Debbie~ Thats a major accomplishment! Are you still on your journey or is this a different one? I did the math...you are almost there!!! Susie~ Sorry if I sound silly but I keep hearing about TOPS and I have no idea what it is. Tiff~ In the 3 months I've been doin' this I must have done the Ol' "I'm gonna just enjoy myself tonight" 5 times only to still come in under. I'm afraid of feeling sick mostly. WTG! Joan~ I use fitday as well. Its a pretty crutial tool in my accountability. |
Hi Everyone,
Well it's officially Monday and I've been good on my diet for one week! I'm not telling too many people about my diet (yeah, yeah, yeah, they've heard it before), but I got a look of surprise when I refused a cookie. Not much exercise yet, but at least I moved around a little painting our porch and moving some furniture. Now that I've lost a couple of pounds I'm motivated to go to the Y tomorrow. I've only been there a few times in the past two years...despite paying the @$#! membership fee. That must average out to $200 per visit! Yikes! Stevi: 4.5 miles is great! How often do you walk/jog? Debbie: Hope you don't see this for a week and that you have fun (and no stress) on your trip. Congrats on losing 77 lbs. so far. I know how hard it is to even drop 10, so you must be super motivated. Susie: I don't know what TOPS is either. I can take the heat, too, but not the humidity. I was drenched in sweat just sitting on the porch today. Can't wait until Fall when it's good walking weather. Tiff: Good job avoiding that cake!!! Have a great week! Joan |
Joan~ It depends. 4x a week at the least, 6x at the most. I play it by ear. Sometimes I do it at the gym. Usually when its too hot outside! I get weight training then but I have to wait for DH to get home from work to be with the baby. So we generally go out in the jogging stroller.
|
Hi Everyone,
It sure is HOT here in Ohio. I took my workout inside last night at the Y. The treadmills are in front of the fans so that was my choice. I also went and did weights in the empty areobic room (the weight room was very hot with all those sweaty people!) I used the exercise ball as my bench and I got a core workout as well. I have personally set up for myself a Labor Day Challenge. Anyone want to join in with me? My challenge is to loose 10 lbs by Labor Day. I'm challenging myself to 5-6 days a week working out and for this challenge I will keep my calories around 1,500. I'm going to start logging them in fitday again. Some of you asked about TOPS. TOPS stands for Take off Pounds Sensibly. They are a weight loss support group. They have been around since 1948. For me it gives me weekly acountability and it's very economical for me. I enjoy it and believe in it so when they asked me to be an Area Captain I accpeted. I thought that it would help me to get my weight off so I can lead by example. I must get to work. Have a great day everyone. Stay on plan! Susie |
Hi Ladies,
I'm so proud of myself...I'm still sticking to my diet (or rather sensible eating plan) of 1200-1600 calories per day. My scales don't agree with my doctor's, so I'm going to change my signature to reflect my home scales... so don't think I'm cheating. When I started about 8 or 9 days ago I was at about 214 and now I'm at 210, so I've lost 4 lbs. Whoopie!!! However, I have been a slug about exercising. Didn't go to the Y, nor have I walked since it's been in the 90s. I'll try to make time tomorrow to get in at least 45 minutes on the treadmill, plus some weights. Susie, I'll join you on your 10 lbs. by Labor Day Challenge. Anyone else? Stay cool and motivated! Joan |
Hello Ladies..........
Went to St. Louis for the weekend, sat by the pool and drank margaritas. What an enjoyable time. How's everyone doing? Holly, where are you chick, I so look forward to your posts. Joan, I am from the Indy area also. I am going to PM you after this post. Keep up the good work, you are doing great. Susie, it is hotter than 3 kinds of h*ll here too. You sound great and striving in the right direction. Good job. Hello to everyone else. Where is everyone? Girlie...?? Sometimes I don't post when I am bad and fall off the wagon, but if you think about it, this is the time we need each other most. Hope everyone has a sweet day. (((Hugs))) |
Same old same old for me. Spend time with my family of origin, feel like crap about myself ,over eat..... work my butt off , get no help or respect........you ladies have heard it all too many times I am sure.Very bust with daycare and Avon, allergies are brutal. I am deeply tired. Ready for a change of pace in Sept.
Having a big todo with a parent. Their son has been wild, I have had complaints, let them know it needs to change, now they are all up in arms blaming my DS for everything. Just may be letting them go. Had a family reunion with Mom's side on Sat. It always takes me to an icky place emotionally. No plans but yard work all weekend!!!!! Friend from Japan will be here the following weekend. Must pull weeds. This weather has been way too hot for yard work but the weeds LOVE it. My kids are at a bday party, then they have swimming lessons. I am ready for back to school. Not for my own kids but the extras. I am as fat as ever but have started back to my yoga class. HUGS!!!!! |
Parent just showed up with the troubled boy. They have made a commitment to bring him here consistantly and to not get upset when I need to talk to them. I told her that Hubby and the kids and I would rather be friends with all of them than have a business relationship and not be friends. We will see.
Part of the issue is that he was scheduled to be here full days all summer long and has ended up going to Grandma’s or they have taken holidays and he has only been here 7 half days total. The kid needs structure. AND i am out $1200 income. On to happier things......... hubby had message about the cabinet maker job; called back about the job and left a message there. It is 16C/61F out right now!!!!!!!!wooooooooooohooooooooooooooo Clear, sunny, low humidity!!!!!!!!! Garden here i come!!!!!!!! 5 kids til 1 pm. Then my 2 have swimming at 4. The house is reasonably tidy. Feel okay to putter in the dirt.It will be cool enough for the kids to be outside today too!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and I lost 1.2 lbs!! I must recant about not getting any support or help. I am getting some which is much nicer than none. That has changed a lot in the last few months.Particularily with hubby but also DS. He goes out of his way to tidy up and help. DD is only 5, working on her. My mom is oblivious, even when others question her or point it out, like some cousins last weekend. She was bragging about all the theatre and travel she and sis have been doing. One cuz asked why didn't Hollyhock go. Mom replied, oh, she is too poor to do theatre. Cuz stood up for me. I calmly said. I just wasn't invited to go. End of convo. Again, hubby is supportive. Not complaining at all!!! If he lands this job it would 1) change our income status by doubling it!! 2) build his self esteem in a huge way. It is a shop manager position. He can do it. He needs to believe. Lots of me telling him he CAN do it and I believe in him. HUGS!!! |
((((((((HUGS in multitude Holly)))))))))))

Have a great weekend ALL!!! :carrot:
|
Hi Everyone,
Hope you all have a great weekend. This is going to be my first real challenge since getting serious. Our family is renting a boat and I'll be surrounded by snacks all weekend. When we go out to eat I plan to have fish...but hope I can resist cheese, wine coolers & beer, Wheat Thins (my biggest temptation), candy, etc. throughout the day. And don't even get me started about my bathing suit anxiety. I toyed with buying a new suit, but hate to pay that much when I'm positive I'll be much thinner next year. Plus, there's no ruffle or skirt long enough to really hide my thighs (sigh!). So I'll try to look confident and stay hidden in my cover-up. Wish me luck. Hollyhock: Hope your hubby gets the job! Sounds like your life is hectic! Annie: Got your message and once I return from our long weekend we can talk. Glad to know there's someone nearby on this forum. Susie: I added your 10 lb. Labor Day Challenge goal to my signature. I'll have to get my body moving to meet the challenge! Stevi: Hope you're doin' ok. Cheers, Joan |
Hubby didn't get the interview. Not enough inside experience.
There was a posting for a parttime library job. I would love it. I can do it too if hubby would do all the house work, laundry etc here. He keeps telling me I dont need another job. um , well, some one here does......cost of living goes up in leaps and bounds or income does not....we lose everything we have worked for...................if our living expenses keep going up $200/month each year like they have for the last 4 years we wont make it. I so wish I had a windmill and solar power and a hydrogen car. |
Hello All,
Saturday afternoon, grilled out for me and my son. He is going to football camp Monday morning and won't be back till Thursday night. His practices have been from 7:30-2:00 pm. He is tired and worn out after. The hot weather and humidity are awful. Holly-Stay positive, it will all work out. You work so hard, God love ya, you need a break. Susie-how you doing? Where are you? Joan-Hope you have fun on your weekend and enjoy yourself. I look forward to chatting with you. Hi Ellen -hope your weekend is a good one! Hi Stevi... Weight is not moving up or down. Exercising is not happening either. This week will be much better. Have a marvy Sunday all. (((Hugs))) |
Hi
I am new here! Racing to get to 199 too. I am currently at 239, so 40 lbs to go. Hoping to get there very soon.
|
DD was the first one up(usually the last) and the boys are both sleeping still. I had coffee out on my porch swing. Not too hot,not too buggy, not too wet.............just right!!
I tried to watch the 2nd Trading Spaces last night but fell asleep. A great rest!!! I woke with a todo list forming in my head...ha....dont have to go anywhere or have any rugrats coming here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Same for tomorrow. I got 6 hours of yard work done out front yesterday. About 2 hours more and it is all done(out front, 3 more sides to the house)!!Feels so delightful to be in the dirt. |
Hello Ladies,
Having a pretty good weekend. Went to dinner with my Dad on Friday night...We haven't seen each other in person for nearly 6 months (talk on the Phone). Last time I saw him was right after DS#2 birth and nearly 50lbs ago....The look on his face was priceless. I could tell he was proud but wasn't making a big deal about it. I ate Honey shrimp and white rice, not the end of the world as I saved up my calories but not fabulous after two glasses of Chardonnay. Saturday had a B-day party but no big deal...I had a courtesy bite of cake and nearly died...Boy that stuff is sweeeet. No exercise yesterday but did good on Friday. I'm good to go out today with out the baby so I can be free and run more. The stroller kinda bogs you down. I'll weigh tomorrow to see if there is any damage. Holly~ Glad your out in the dirt! I feel ya on the DH job thing. Mine is on the bottom of the pay band doing the exact same job as 7 other men but because his tenure is short, due to his rapid promotion...3 in 2 1/2 years, he gets screwed. Thats no way to reward ambition if you ask me. Your a trouper! Keep on keepin' on!!:D Joan~ I'm a thigh girl as well...Last measure was 28" at the largest point...And thats down 3"!!! My waist is but 33". All butt and legs. I don't even bother with bathing suit bottoms. I usually wear a pair of mens board shorts.....in a black print. Your doin' great, keep it up! Susie~ Congrats on the TOPS captainship! Thats very coool! Annie~ Sorry about the heat...Its beautiful here (like that helps you at all;)) When the weather doesn't permit I go to the gym, but I perfer to be out doors to exercise. Everyone else have a great rest of the weekend and stay beautiful!! |
Hello ladies
Just a quick hi. Only lost 2ozs this week but better than nothing! lol Bad week this week as today is 10th anniversary of my mum passing away so I've been very melancholy and thoughtful (and tearful). Will catch up with you all later in the week. Have a great week everyone. Love n hugs Sarah |
Hello,
I thought I posted last week but I didn't see anything; hmmmm wonder where it went. Oh well. I'm here now. I stayed the same last week. There are some weeks that I would be happy for that but since I really want 10 lbs off before I step on that cruise ship in just 31 days I wasn't happy with it at all. So what did I do about it? I fed my "frustrated desire". Yep...instead of kicking it up, I kicked myself into a feeding frenzy. I finally ate so much ice cream yesterday that I'm feeling sick today. I think I needed to do that so that I would stop. It's like I "woke" up this morning. I don't like feeling like this. Not mentally, or physically and I think I'm finally really ready to dosomething about it. Does that make sense? I know that this feeling I have won't last forever but my resolve will. I'm going to do it this time. I'm so tired of being fat! I'm too pretty to be fat, I'm too smart to be fat I deserve to not be held back in life. I'm going for it! Holly: I'm sorry to hear about DH and the non-interview. I can empathize about the money thing. We are dealing with that in my house too. Sarah: Hey girl, a loss is a loss. Celebrate it! I understand the melancholy and thoughtful (and tearful) feeling you are going through. I do that around the time of my dad's passing as well. Just remember that you can feel that way without comforting yourself with food. The food won't make it feel anybetter. Here's a ((((hug))) for you. Stevi: Doesn't it feel good when people see how much you have lost and comment on it? I think you handled the food at the dinner in a positive way. Good job! Kreen: Welcome to the Race! Annie: What are your exercise plans for the week? I bet if you get some in you will see that weight move down! Joan: How did you did with the weekend boat trip? I need to add another tracker too. Maybe I'll get that done today. I'm excited that you joined the challenge with me. I needed a buddy! Ok..got to get busy at work. Talk to everyone later! Susie |
Holy Moley!!!WOw did everyone post while I was gone. Weekends keep me so busy that I don't have time to get online. Glad to see everyone doing well.
((hugs)) to Sarah. I have not gained or lost this week, but I think that was thanks to TOM. I am done, but I ended up the same as last week. I am going to really push to get to the gym this week 4 or more times, and I am really going to watch what I put in my mouth. I have not been so good about that, and I think that is why I am not going anywhere. Not too much planned around here, just a trip to the gym this morning, then off to my mom's to visit my Uncle and his new wife from Austrailia. Dh will meet us there after work. HAve a great Monday! |
Hey everyone,
I"m back! Over rested. I just sat for most of the week. I did get dh to take a walk one morning but that was it. They had a curves by MIL but everytime I mentioned going there was yet another relative we had to go see. LOL Holly: I skimmed thru a few of the post ( I'm at work). When you visit your family put on your magic armour. Don't ever feel bad about yourself. You are a very loving, giving person. You have a great immediate family. Draw your strenght from them. I could only dream to have my life as together as you do. Hold your head high, my friend!! When you a feeling low all you have to do is look at your beautiful home and garden that YOU made. And let's don't forget those 2 little angels. Susie: It was so wonderful talking to you. Got to go I'll do more later |
I have been cleaning bedrooms since 8:30am. It is a holiday here. Windows, curtains and all are done. It is 2pm. I am going to take a shower and clean the kitchen because the kitchen fairy is hiding somewhere and take the kids for swimming lessons.
HUGS!!!! |
Hello

|
Down another pound today. Slow but sure wins the race!
Hello to All. (((HUGS))) |
I know I will have a gain when I weigh in this week, But what good is a vacation if you can't relax a lttle.
We have a tight budget so there are not many frills in my life but Dh told me WHEN! I hit the 100lb mark we are going to the jewery store. Annie: :cp: I think we should celebrate every oz lost. Great job ::D |
Rock and roll Ladies!!
Down 2 more lbs!!! And to think just 2 weeks ago I was platueaing (sp?)!! 3 lb a week! GrrAArrRRrrrr!!!! 4 more and its time to post progress pics! The BIG 5-0! I was a lil bit surprised, ok alot surprised due to my weekend, not that I went over board but I was struggling! Annie~ All those oz add up dang it! Great job on the 1lb 2oz !! WeLcOmE DDran!!! You don't have far to run in this race @200! Holly~ I'll see you at my house around 4ish?? :D Debbie~ DIAMONDS! OoOoOoo Earrings are nice. I've always wanted another pair for the other hole in my ears. Upswife~ Sorry so hectic! Great job on makin' it to the gym anyway! Susie~ The only good thing about going off plan is you have a chance to "start over" and get that big initial loss again. Well, not AS big. My 1st was 9 lbs..I doubt that'll ever happen agin on this journey. But my last big one week loss was after a plateau, I went off plan and then back on and lost 5lbs! Sarah~ (((((HUGE HUGS)))))) I lost my (biological) father when I was only 12. |
Love ya Deb!!!
Go Stevi & Annie!!!! Welcome Ddran!!! Gerbil in a wheel again for me. 7 kids all day yesterday. Business meeting at 8 am. Had a conflict to resolve from that. Took all 7 kids to swimming lesson. I swam with 5 while my 2 had their lesson. Just 2 extras today. I will garden all morning. 3 more sleeps til friends for Tokyo arrive. |
Ladies,
I found a very cool challenge here in 3Fatchicks, check it out! I am doing it. I feel stong and confident today in this challenge. Here is some of my "go get em'" Stevi-Logan is adorable, could kiss him all up! Have a rockin day! ((((HUGS)))) |
Ooops, forgot to tell you where the challenge was, lol, here you go..............
20 weeks till Christmas Challenge! |
2 more sleeps............
Dont seem to have a headache yet today. Have had one for 2 days. Combo stress/allergies. Nose is running like a tap tho. Slept in til 8. I will make a grocery list for later tonight.Planing some “Canadian “ meals for our guests. I know last time the fella was here he loved everything I cooked. His wife and babe have never been to canada. I dont want to scare them. On the Sat we will have a roast chicken dinner with stuffing, gravy, carrots and potatoes. On sunday for the corn roast( we dont have a bbq) I am making a teriaki beef stew with rice, we will cook corn in a big pot on an open fire and then salads and apple pie.I am more concerned about lunches and breakfasts. I also want to mulch the front beds and thoroughly clean the kitchen. My helper comes from 10-12. Tomorrow I have her here from 9-3. I will clean the whole house...I hope. Will have 7 kids here. My dad did mention taking DS golfing. That would be great!! |
Hello Ladies,
I'm finally feeling better! OMG part of Tue, all of yest, and part of this morning I have had a headache from he!!. Really weird that I have a loss right before TOM, he got here yest. He's the one that brought this headache I suspect. Didn't walk yest and most certainly won't have time today. Having a dinner out with the family to discuss the baby's baptism. Fun stuff. Got the baby's 6 month portraits doen yest. See my signature. All 6 poses where great! Thats a 1st. Holly~ I'm assuming sleeps are nights? Americans!;) You are a busy, busy bee! I'm very intrigued by your Teriaki beef stew...sounds yummy! Annie~ I'm gonna go check it out. You can smooch him all you want! I certainly do! Hope everyone else is well and good! |
I'm still at work and not happy..14 hours and counting.
I knew I gained over vacation but I was suprised it was only .6 lbs. Yeah...I expected at least 2-3. Ok, I know its silly to celebrate a gain..but oh well you know me  Later :grouphug: |
Ah Deb...(((Hugs)))
|
Stevi-that is how the kids count it.
I made up my own recipe. I marinate stewing beef( cut up bite size) in Knorr's teriaki marinade for the day. Drain it and then simmer it with onions and mixed peppers, thicken the sauce and serve with rice. Very yummy. Lots and lots of cleaning today.I have my helper here for 6 hours.Things are in good shape tho. I will spring clean the spare bedroom and wash bedding and curtains and then tidy, dust and vacuum the rest. Swimming lessons at 4. Hubby will cut the grass tonight. Hoping flights wont be delayed with all this nonsense. HUGS!! |
