Sarah...that's not the type of moaning you should be doing on a birthday!

Tiff...you look gorgeous in your new photo. No wonder the younger guy was hitting on you. Neither you or Stevi look heavy at all through your face pictures.

My size 20 jeans are loose and my husband said he can tell a little difference, so I'm motivated to keep going. According to FitDay I'm doing 1300-1600 calories per day, so if I ever start exercising I think I could see even better results.

Happy Sunday, everyone! Joan

Van O rama--On the road and still dieting!

Went on a one day car trip today. I put my foot down and exercised before we left! I packed major applesauce, 100 cal packs. ate a salad at BK, cause a quick check of my ww points book said it was good to go. Got stuck at dinner at skippers, so I ordered a potato and shrimp, but picked the breading off. :nono:

Still at 210 today, hoping I start to move down tomorrow. ooh, it is so cool to see someone at 202, you're so close!! Pleased to see more posts in this thread, I loved the 21 year old guy story. I told my husband today I want to get thin and attract some attention!

Day 6/4/1

I'm In!

sweet_yellow 08-20-2006 03:59 PM

made it down a notch..

a solid real thing, 209 today. I am opting to workout tonite and I'm starting to plan tomorrow now, since I will have to go to an inservice at 8 am.

I'm going to journal now, too, so I don't forget.

Hey the watermelon is great this time of year! Try it! :dizzy:

Stevi-rocks 08-21-2006 12:19 PM

Happy Monday ladies!!
Super busy weekend.. Fri had rehearsal til 10pm...Saturday had to play at that reception....Sunday was dinner out with one of my oldest dearest friends. I was not looking forward to the scale but all is well!!! I took off the pound I gained last week so I'm back to 216....Now just 17 more lbs!
The reception was alot of fun...We don't usually get to have THAT much fun while "working" (if you can call it that!) Our drummer got SAUCED though (he's 22..) the last set lasted three songs that he could NOT get right so we just ended it...everyone was so stinkin' hammered, no one even noticed! Funny stuff. The party was Romanian, Super cool hosts and boy do they know how to party!

Heritage~ Thanks for the compliment, I've always been lucky in that respect. However, it can cause issues with facing your real size at times. Most of my weight is in my butt and legs.
Tiff~ Thats HOT!
Hippo~ I'm sooo Jealous!! 202!!
Yellow~ Great job on getting to 209!

annie175 08-21-2006 03:37 PM

Hi ya ladies.

Having trouble with motivation and eating today. Ate nearly half a 9x13 pan of layered taco dip throughout the day today at work. Pitiful. Lord please bless me with some mind over mouth motivation, or should we say hand over mouth?

WI tonight at WW, too scared to go.

Hope everyone is doing well.

(((Hugs)))

Annie

Hollyhock 08-21-2006 04:12 PM

Hi Annie!! cyber clamping my hand over your mouth!!! I love taco dip too.

Hugs to ALL!!!

sweet_yellow 08-21-2006 11:08 PM

this is a test...

I had to go to work today (an hour later than I will have to after labor day).
It took FOREVER to drag my sorry hiny out of bed, but I kept telling myself "your creating a new habit", "it doesn't matter if you don't get it all in, just get to the treadmill" and I got a mile in! Before work!

So after a lunch of PAD Thai (my first tai food ever!), then I checked the points(WW). oops. So I did my whole 2 miles tonite, and stretched, AND 50 situps, AND some arm work. I hope that fixed it....:woops:

I am so determined to become better! You guys are too! don't forget during the battle of the workday(or night)!

TooCurvyMommy 08-22-2006 01:32 AM

Ok, forget that Turbo Jam at 5am idea... that went out the window. I am trying to curtail my calories. Got on the scale this morning and was 190. Got on yesterday and was 188. Maybe those 3 hotdogs turned me into a puffball. Water retention. Or else getting period. That will do it.

Stevie - the photo with you holding the mic. It's cool.
Hollyhock - Maybe Clyde is hiding under the house? Or in a neighbor's garage? My cat (when I was 10) also had kidney diease and had gone under the house. I crawled under to get her. She lived for a little longer on kidney meds - but died young at I think 7. My other siamese cat lived to 22. By that point we had to put her to sleep because she was so out of it and seemed in pain. Had a cocker spaniel die of bone disease at 12yrs. Have to say that it hurt more losing some of my animals than it did with some of my human family... I couldn't even remember my grandma - but I cried for 2 weeks when Boots my cat died. Sorry to hear about Clyde. : ( I hope you find him or have some resolution.

Tiff - Go for your goal - even if you don't make 199 - you'll still look great and your hubby will be appreciate of your efforts. And if he's still overly worried about your health and the speed that you have lost your weight - milk it for all it's worth ; ) Let him slave over you (heh, heh, heh)

Heritage - Wow - your dinner sounds like fun! I am a former Chicago girl and love pizza from the midwest! Oh, wait - that's bad I shouldn't say that. No, no,, I love fiber and water. MMMMmmmm good. Fiber. Water. Good.

Sweet-yellow - hot chocolate - mmmnnnn

Ok, time for beddy-bye after eating a low calorie fudgesicle. Today, I had a yogurt. A powerbar. And a bowl of Chili-mac. (Macaroni and Hormel chili - favorite midwest-style dish.) Ever notice how in the midwest it's always Campbell's soup with pasta? Like cheddar cheese and mac,, or cream of mushroom and tuna and mac? Ok, my midwest roots are showing.. time to turn texas style and eat a steak. That was a joke. Good night ladies!

Debbie 08-22-2006 01:32 PM

Hey everyone,
Doing better the last two days. I'm still suffering from a bad head cold.
I've not make it to curves this week. Hopefully, I'll feel up to going tomorrow.
Everyone is doing great!! YOU GIRLS ROCK ...:dancer:

Anyone interested in a group challenge for Thanksgiving..any ideas?

TiffRidesAHarley 08-22-2006 02:09 PM

ok, frustrated here, I have had enough of my scale!!! I should buy a new one, but I am afraid I will weigh in heavier on the new one. I have been stuck at 212 for a week, yesterday, I weighed in at 214, this morning it said 206. What am I to beleive?? The scale is digital and I have to weigh a few times until I get the same weight twice. ARRGGHHH I have always been the type to not change weight for a week or two and then step on the scale and there are 5-8 lbs gone, so this is not unusual. SOOOO what should I beleive??

Debbie 08-22-2006 02:17 PM

Tiff: My scale does that. It's a dirty liar...LOL. I only weigh once at home on the w-end. First thing in the am before I jump in the shower. Then at WW.
I'm not sure why the wild differences. 4-5 lbs up or down???

MTwoolfgirl 08-22-2006 02:36 PM

Lost all motivation.....HELP

I am 27 years old living in the best place in the world to exersise (Montana). Lots of beautiful scenery, hikeing, biking, swiming, camping etc, all things I love to do... I am a manager at a motel here and let me tell you... I live in my cave. Taking care of a small motel is like taking care of a child... It is a 24/7 job. I have recently started watching TV for relaxation :stress: again after an 8 year hiatus. I have gained 20 pounds over the last few months... Buy a new couch, watch tv, stick a fork in me;:o I am a bonified couch potatoe! I have a supportive Boyfriend but he does not want to support me in the way I really want. I want a gym buddy. I am a :chicken: about going alone. He used to be a fitness instructor and now all he wants to do is play on his computer.

I have done really well with a gym buddy before. I lost 35lbs back when I had one. I would love to find someone on line to help me lose this fat that is slowing me down. I want to go out and live my life again like a real person. I want to be that beautiful, sexy, confident goddess I knew before. :belly:

Debbie 08-22-2006 10:10 PM

Mtwoolfgirl: :welcome3: I love montana. I nearly had a very bad accident on the mountain outside of Butte. Hey, I always thought you slowed down on snow...Not going uphill...LOL.
Stick around. There is a lot of support here.

I posted my b-fast and lunch earlier.

D- slice of lean ham 2
cheese 2
Ramien noodle soup (ok!, bad I know) 8

Total 21

CurvyGal 08-22-2006 10:56 PM

New to this site!

I am sick and tired of being overweight! I am so ready to lose weight and ran across this site while reading online to boast my motivation!
:running: :running:
Here I go!!!!

sweet_yellow 08-22-2006 11:46 PM

Doin' it to it- life starts gettin' interestin again

209.......again. I've been so good today my shoulder aches from the weight of the angel hollerin' in my ear (remember the old cartoons, devil on one side---"Dooo ittt" , the angel saying "no, be good for goodness sake!")
A bit discouraged this morning but I keep telling myself I'm in it for the long haul this time, no bumps are going to stop me.

Hey to get me started? I bought a crapload of weightloss magazines and fitness ones. Then I read them from front to back and clipped pictures of good for you food, slim bodies I want to be like, recipes I thought I'd use, or good quotes or words. Then I gluesticked 'em to cardstock. I also have a wipe board-- I am doing a 21 block of diet and exercise (hey, I can make it 21 days, right?). and knowing that most of this battle is mental, I give myself a special check on the board each day for paying attention to that part of it. I either read and clip a magazine, or put a cardstock out on the fridge, or fix up my workout area, or visualize what I want to be.

oh yeah, and I found this cool site that logs your exercise (bike, walk, run) in miles as you cross the US. It shows photos of where you'd be-- I'm almost to Jamestown, Virginia! and you can pit yourself against people of similar age and like goals.

I'm on the train that doesn't stop, this time ladies, its the real thing!

9/5/1

heritagephoto 08-23-2006 01:25 AM

:welcome2: to CurvyGal and MTWoolfgirl: I'm visualizing you both as thin, hot, food-hating, exercise-loving babes in the coming months.

I'm still doing ok on the diet, but haven't exercised at all. But I'm eating less and never snack...and you gotta start somewhere. :cbg: Gotta remind myself that I sloowwly got fat over several years and I'll sloowwlly get thin. But hopefully by the end of the year I'll look lots better. My real goal is to get down to my driver's license weight (which, of course, I always lie about, although I upped it a little this year so I wouldn't get that raised-eyebrown "yeah-right" look from the BMV chick).

This weekend I'm gonna take full body "before" photos, both front and back. :fr: I've threatened bodily harm to anyone who tries to photograph me from the waist down, but since I love looking at the mini-goals / goals pictures I should post mine, too.

Sweet-Yellow: Sounds like you have some serious motivation techniques. You ARE going to do it, don't get discouraged! I motivate myself by looking at before-and-after photos. Last time I googled that I found myself on the "my fat girlfriend" web page, where guys post photos of their once-thin girlfriends followed by images of them getting fat. I wonder if any of the girlfriends know about it?

Tiff: My scale is unreliable, too. Being the optimist, I choose to believe the lowest weight. In your case, I'd choose to believe the comments of the 21-yr.-old in the bar and not worry about the @*!$ scales.

Debbie: Hope your cold is better! I'm not sure I should commit to another challenge since I'm not managing to meet my current goal. I'll try for 20 by Thanksgiving, though.

Annie: I'll cyber clamp my hand over your mouth, too.

Gotta get some sleep...all this talk of Pad thai, hot chocolate, pizza, and chili mac is making me hungry.

Joan

Stevi-rocks 08-23-2006 02:10 AM

Good evening,(insert Bella Lagosi impersonation here)
Uneventful day diet wise, had lunch at Claim Jumper...uh oh...I just had chicken and salad. However they douse there veggies in oil dab nab it! I went with my Aunie I haven't seen in ages. Dinner was a half a cup (literally)
of curry chicken and white rice I made for hubby. It was a 1st and I had to taste it...Mmmmm SPICY! No exercise today Damn it!! Too busy with the kiddies and the outing and junk. Tomorrow. I can not go long otherwise my endurance is comprimised and I struggle a bit. No Bueno.
Tiff~ Remember we have tha same stinkin', sorry @$$ scale? If you buy a new one...so will I.
Heritage~ Now I have to find that site! I already spend too much time lurking around Findadeath.com, I'm a bit of a ghoul. Mu ah ah ahh!!
Sup Curygal and woolfgirl!
Debbie~ Hope you feel better soon!!

sweet_yellow 08-23-2006 11:05 AM

Alright..

208 and rockin' my world...
made it up this morning to do my walkies..

Stevi-rocks, what's your exercise look like? I wondered if you run....great job on choices at the restaurant (even if it didn't turn out as low cal as you'd hoped).

anyone got some good itunes to jog to? Mine are gettin' ...ho-hum. Thanks, Dee

TiffRidesAHarley 08-23-2006 11:50 AM

Stevie, ok, lets plan a shopping trip! Am I coming to California or are you coming to Minnesota??? hee hee. We should find a new scale the is economical yet good and accurate. Maybe we could shop online and find the same one, then we can both be disappointed together. Misery loves company. I am going to start shopping online, I will post some links for you to check out. I but I DON'T WANT TO BUY A NEW SCALE!!! But I have too.

Update: I found a great scale, it measures weight, BMI and you body's water content. Checki it out. I think I will buy this one, I have to wait until the hubby gets paid on the first.

Stevi-rocks 08-23-2006 09:26 PM

Hi!
Got alot done today, even exercised!!! Didn't get around to making dinner...DH will have to survive. DS#1 is never home anymore! He's 14 and its summer, I cut him slack as long as long as he calls in and gives me updates.

Tiff~ Thats a nice scale! I likey!! You buy it when your ready, If I get mine 1st I can tell you what I think!
Deanna~ Yup! I interval though. Power walk/jog. I maintain a 3.6- 4.0 mph alone, 3.2-3.6 mph with the jogging stroller. Jogging is consistent for some crazy reason @ 5.2mph. My high speed sprinting w/ stroller was 7.4! I can't run a full mile yet but I'm up to only two walking stops. I've been sprinting every other work out as well. Its working wonders on the jiggle jaggle!!

sweet_yellow 08-24-2006 06:04 PM

grrr..irritation sets in

I feel so ...umphgrrrmm.

I wish my kids would go away, I'm heading towards 9 months of nonstop teenagers(teacher!). and my own are 12, 14, 14 and 16. They are driving me nuts!
It makes me want to eat.

Thanks, stevi..... that's what I need to do is interval. I'm at 3.2 for 2 miles, but I could do more. and I've got to do more in less time once school starts.

Thanks heritagephoto, I'm gonna go google some picks now.

annie175 08-25-2006 09:38 AM

I started water aerobics this week. YES, it is a blast and I just love it. I go on Tues and Thurs. 2.50 a class at the Y. Eating has be GREAT this week, hoping for a loss at WW on Monday.

Have a marvy weekend.

(((Hugs)))

Howdy.

Avon has a great scale that measures, weight, hydration, % fat and bone mass...I love it!!! google Avon, to find a rep near you input your postal code, call and order!!!

sweet_yellow 08-25-2006 10:45 PM

its a good life!

I'm feeling good, doing good.

New pizza strategy- make the husband and kids order it, eat it, and hide the box before I get home from work.

weighing the same for three days again. I continue to marvel at how I could have eaten all I used to, sit, veg, and stay the same, and now I eat like a bird, watch every calorie, AND exercise and it doesn't budge. :chin:

ah well, today is day 12/I've lost 6 pounds/and I'm shooting for my first 21 day challenge.

sweet_yellow 08-27-2006 12:15 AM

racing or limping?

207...finally. Saturdays are a pooper because the hubby folds in all sorts of temptations. But overall a pretty good day.

sweet_yellow 08-27-2006 01:44 PM

yayy! vroom...vroom...

206! I can't hardly believe it! going to work out now... I'm working on intervals like stevi said. :spin:

upswife 08-28-2006 11:31 AM

hello ladies. i am still here, just a little pooped, and totally busy! life never seems to stop, but we will see what comes this week. DS has his first full week of school, so hpefully thing will get back into routine. Have a greeat monday!!!

sweet_yellow 08-29-2006 12:17 AM

temptation wins...

missed lunch while in 1st aid/cpr. Ran home to eat turkey sandwich, can't reach the fridge (floor guy is here, we're getting new flooring). Need food! Let teenage daughter w/permit drive- going to chevron to get low fat turkey sandwich-ROAD's CLOSED. Trying to go further on down the road to Wendy's- Jill couldn't manage a lane change (ready to sob, but I don't want to discourage or frighten Jill, the newbie driver). Ate at panda, gave the rice to jill and I ate the chicken w/mushroom and chicken w/broccoli. And ate the leftover evil, evil orange chicken for dinner.

But, still walked 2 miles and am 206 this morning.

I'm taking the kids to a 100 year old theme park as a last hurrah of summer tomorrow. I've got to plan ahead on this one!!! turkey pita's in a lunch cooler.

upswife- I think you and I are backwards. I'm scared to go back to school, I'll lose control of exercise time. You must be getting ready for school and looking forward to getting back your exercise time?

annie175- how'd you do? what's your leader like?

Debbie 08-29-2006 11:47 AM

Hey friends,
I'm still here.
Not totally out of control, but just hanging on. I hope this 3 week cold is about done with me, because I'm way passed done with it. :dizzy:
I haven't been doing too bad on food but almost no exercise. I've been coughing like crazy when I get too hot.
We finally got rain and some cooler temps. It was only 89f yesterday and is going to be the same today...WOOHOO.

Later.

Hollyhock 08-29-2006 10:14 PM

Camping was good. Big storm Sat night, got a little soggy.

Back into full swing aroung here, 9 kids, mountains of laundry,Avon meeting last night and tonight, yoga Wed, DS has hockey 2 afternoons this week.

Very, very tired of being fat. Looking forward to Sept and all the changes it brings with most of these kids in school.Just might be able to exercise.

Feeling very sad and nostalgic about DD going in fulltime. sob

My dear friends father died yesterday. It was sudden and fast lukemia. Her DH was killed in an accident 2 years ago( you might remember) and her twin brother 2 years before that. Way too much loss for a young woman. She has 2 sons and her mom lives near by. I am sooo worried about her dear mom. She is a fiesty old girl but a soft heart.

sweet_yellow 08-29-2006 10:58 PM

uh oh. back to work tomorrow

did ok today. exercised, diet not great but okay, journal is next after this. All of a sudden I feel like making that sound that Al Pacino did in "the scent of a woman". You know what I mean? I think it sums up being jaded with a routine :tread: --- Hooooo aahhhh-----

annie175 08-30-2006 08:11 AM

Morning...

Deanna - didn't do well at WW. Up 2 lbs, and it is not muscle, it is from eating.

Holly - I remember you telling us about your frieind, the poor dear, she has had enough sadness. Prayers.

Everyone stay healthy and happy.

(((HUGS)))

Hollyhock 08-30-2006 10:25 AM

Hi gang.

I am feeling very tired and fat. (and I am both). I need to move a lot more or harder at least. never stop moving. Sept 5th life changes radically for me.That will be my clean start.

I did okay over the summer but had gained a lot throughout the year before that and I was huge to begin with. Gotta love stress, 2 jobs and a thankless hubby etc. and a weakness to relax with food.

What I need are schedules for hockey, gymnastics, school council, sunday school stuff is done, I an teaching primary this year( once a month-we rotate), i have 2 events booked for Avon stuff and need school schedules for the 2 JK kids who go every other day, fingers crossed they are on the same schedule(different schools).

I want to work in yoga once a week but.....................time? money?

I can walk if I dont have a whole gaggle of kids. I need to schedule that and avon time.

I cant really put anything into place until I have all the info info.

Only 7 kids today*cockoo,cuckoo*.
Funeral at 2. It will be a hard one. There will be 3 grave sites in a row to visit.

Debbie 08-30-2006 12:37 PM

Holly: Hugs and prayers for your friend and her family.
I have missed you.
I am also hoping for a new start in Sept. I was losing steady til summer hit, then I just was too hot to do any exercise. So losses have been very minimal.
I've not gave up. I will do this.

Hollyhock 08-31-2006 10:43 AM

kitchen- done

DS had a meltdown-dealt with

We are not going to hockey today. He is still feeling punky. We will go shopping tho!!!

I won a prize from a camera store from filling out a ballot last month. hmmmmmmmmmmmm wonder what it is. Need school stuff for DS, file stuff for me and a dollar store run to make treat bags for our last day of summer vacation party tomorrow.
Need to pull out recipes for canning and make a list for that too.

House is still untidy. Made a bazillion emails. Showered and dressed. I am a gerbil in a wheel.

HUGS!!!

Debbie 08-31-2006 11:35 AM

I was the same at my WI, that's 3 weeks now. Time for action. I did get my rear up @ 5:15 and did 1 mile of my WATP DVD. Hope to increase that tomorrow.
I'm sure ds will let me know about the earthquake we had this morning...LOL
First time I did that DVD he asked me if there was structral damage from the eathquake...BRAT BOY.

Leader said to make sure I'm getting my dairy so I ate 2 yogurts this am.

Later

upswife 08-31-2006 06:06 PM

HI all! Still here, just not overly enthusiastic. Getting better tho. Hugs and prayers for all!!

sweet_yellow 09-01-2006 12:12 AM

Hollyhock, I was feeling washed out today too. Had to go back to work, lots of conflict, paperwork and meetings. By the time I got the groceries, the gas and the dinner, I was so shaky I thought I'd pass out. And the worst part was I knew I had to go out and still walk! I was sniveling, let me tell you. But I made it out there and I feel better for meeting my goal. Like I told my husband, I have to lose this weight because its like carrying an 80 pound bag of dog food around, all day, everywhere I go. No wonder I'm so wore out after 14 hours! It will be worth it, I swear this time I'll not give in to the wheel!! Hollyhock, we've got to change it 'cause no one else can. We've got to outrun the hamster wheel!! (really, though, have you ever seen a hamster outrun its wheel? )

Hollyhock 09-01-2006 08:27 AM

sweet yellow- I am almost there, to get things moving more, counting down the days.
I won a sweat shirt.
Up and had coffee, played trucks with DS. 3 extras here, 4 more to come, DD is still sleeping.

We are having a "party" today for last day of summer vacation. I got the boys trucks and girls hair dodads and bracelets and a treat bag to take home, lots of balloons and then we will build some sundaes later.

The big party will be the glass of wine I will have at 6pm!!!!!! I survived!!!

No one has cucs this year from a blight so looks like wont be making pickles. I will be able to can peaches and make peach jam tho. Maybe some tomato sauce or salsa.

The old drunk who yells at us from across the road moved this week. Evey time I go outside I look over because I know he watches the street and what we do.....weird that the house is empty but in a good way. A single man who drives truck is moving in.It would be nice if he was around our age and he was decent guy. He and hubby could chat a bit.

Best go tend ot the kidlets!!!
