A dear childhood friend-age 41-died of an aneurysm on the weekend. Spent much of last night grieving for John.
I have been down 10 lbs a few days in a row. So it must be real. 10 more to go to my lowest weight and then 27 to go til goal!! My head is in vacation mode still. I need to make a list of business calls and emails. I have a list already from Dec 24th. Didn't return those calls. Need to fine tune my Ad for the magazine. Didn't write an article this month. Haven't written the church newletter either. Need to plan the school council meeting for the 8th too, agenda. Been nurturing myself for most of the week. Way overdue, like 8 years overdue. Time to refocus on the things that matter most to me and work nurturing me into the master plan. Baby steps, one foot in front of the other and all those, very true, cliches. |

I'm back!! Husband has been home for 3 months and I have not only jumped off the wagon, I am lying in the ditch bleeding from the fall. I bought a new scale recently, and I HATE it. It shows about 20 heavier than my old one. I wanna cry. According to the new scale, I gained 30lbs in the last 3 months, soooo...take the 20lbs difference between the scales off and I probably gained about 10. I am wondering what my actual starting weight was then?? I don't know. My 16s still fit, regular 16 not 16w (I actually have been buying clothes at the "regular" womens stores. NOT PLUS SIZE!!! So, hubby and I are starting the typical New Years Resolution. Get the pounds off!! Of course it will be easier for him, damn MEN, he can drop weight like nothing. But since I am back ON the wagon, I thought I needed this board again to keep me going. |

So-far-good... LOL. We had to attend my nephews funeral today. He died of a overdose not sure yet of what, but the cops are treating as a homicide. Sad for his family..What a waste. Food has been good so far except for the weekend (had pizza *grrr*), still munching on my almonds and grapes.
I'm up 1lb but I'm sure its just water retention because of AF. Hoping to make it to the gym this evening for a 30 minute walk on the treadmill and some abs Pilates. Reformatted my ipod and got some new music on there for the walk. :hug:s all around! we can do it!! |

I am looking and feeling all 41 of my years. The head cold is gone but with the warm temps there is much mold and stuff in the air so allergies are terrible. A late night for me and then I had trouble sleeping. Another death. Again relating to an old childhood friend. His father passd away yesterday. Again someone I was VERY close to when I was much younger.I have been in a space of thinking about those years, the people ,the places for a few days now. Nostalgic. Yesterday was perfect. I adore my sister in law and brother in law and their 5 kids, who now all mostly teens and young adults. My 2 kids LOVE their big cousins. And their big cousins treat them like gold. My SIL and I went out for a 2 hour walk leaving all the kids at home. She made chili for supper. I brought a big bin of cookies and brownies.The she and I took her youngest 3 and my 2 to see Charlottes Web. A well done movie. Didn’t get home til after 11pm. Hoping the kids will sleep in. I had a very restless night. Odd dreams. Woke up a bunch. I can nap later today if needed. HUGS!!!! |

I have my start weight 218.2. It is down .8 from last week. I hope I can do the 1lb a week challenge. My weight loss has been real slow lately. I'm just sitting there munching on my apple and almonds.. I can do this, my salad tastes better than those greasy shrimps! :) Pilates = Pain, still sore from last night's pilates workout. my abs are killing me, I can't sit straight in my chair, but I kinda love that pain :dizzy: Going to do some weight training tonight! :yes: We can do this!!! |
Trying to stay the course. I have lost track today, but I still have to eat dinner, otherwise I will over do tonight and snack. Will pick myself up, and get some exercise, and eat better. after tonight all the leftovers, and cakey things from the holidays will be gone. so I know I will do better tomorrow. Also will go directly to the gym in the AM after the tire rotation. Both cars are now fixed, Yay...but they did tell me that the van is going to need brakes by the next oil change...oh well, I guess a car is never truly fixed unless it is the day you bought it.

Well, when I weighed in at TOPS last night I had a one pound gain! I have no idea how it happened--looking over my food I stayed within my points except for 2 days and I wasn't that much over besides I exercised and didn't count that in when figuring out how many points I could have so when I was over I really don't think I was. I was very hurt and disappointed last night but I now have another week ahead of me before the next weigh-in to make a big loss and I'm going for it. I'm going to continue to plan my meals ahead and I am hopeful that I will have a loss next week. Deb: I'm sorry to hear about your family's loss. Don't be discourged about the small loss...it's a loss. I loose very slowly as well. WB to Tiff Jiggly: you are so right that we can do this! Did you manage to excapse the temptation of the office? UPS: I hope you picked yourself back up. You know we are here to help you up when you are down. So come on girl..I just dusted myself off too..let's get moving down the weight-loss road. Holly: I've been having some strange dreams too. I don't know why but I wish they would stop because I wake up so tired. Ok, ladies I've got to get to work. I'll be around some this weekend. It's been one of those crazy busy days!! One thing about it I get lots of walking in. I been op today. My one little slip up doesn't amount to much. My co-worker brought him a can of pears and discovered it was diced instead of halves. Crazy kid wouldn't eat them...guess who did...the whole can. 3.5 pts worth. It could have been a lot worse. I am back up, after not going to the gym at all this week I made it there this morning. I can't believe the difference it has made in how I feel today!
So far so good food wise...just have to make sure I don't overdo it on dinner. or snack with our movie tonight. DH rented Talladega nights, and I can't wait, I have heard that it is so funny. Well, I have to get going, I need to get the last load of laundry folded and the put it all away. Have a great weekend all! Will post if I can get here. |
When I hit 199 in 2006, I was SO excited. I hadn't been that in years, and I want to feel that amazing feeling again & get to my goal weight. :) I am with all of you on this one! We can do it! :)

I've decided that I do better when I journal in my book instead on WW.com. I tend to be more consistant. I'm down to no pts for the rest of the day. I'll have a veggie dinner. I done 4 loads of wash and am ready to just sit back and put my feet up. and wait for the cowboys game... Muzikjunky: :welcome3: We are glad to have you. Debbie: I sometimes find it easier to log in a journal instead of online as well. I usually write down what I had and then when I'm online I log the foods for calorie totals..etc muzikjunky: Welcome to the race! :carrot: upswife: yay for gym! I love how I feel the second day after a great workout at the gym, I'm refreshed and helps reduce the headaches I get because it lowers my blood pressure :) Susie: Yup! had my salad and was okay :) don't worry about the gain, it happens every once in a while. I'm sure you'll do great at the next weigh-in :hug: I'm doing okay, foodwise I'm staying within my calorie range. Lost 0.5 at the weigh in this morning & will take it! :hyper: I know I'll lose more by next weigh-in because I still feel bloated becasue of af. :yoga: Let's stay focused, we can do this! :) |

Well, we know I didn't loose my 1lb this week but I'm determined it will happen by next Monday's report in. I stayed on plan all weekend and even got in some extra exercise. I had a very bad w-end as far as food goes. Dh was off this w-end and we ate non-stop. I won't bore you with details but it was ugly. I have trouble getting thru to him. He brings me a dinner plate size cinnamon roll. Knowing I have no self control...bad hubby..LOL. I can't get rid of him now thurs is our 33rd anniversary. Susie: Remember we said 1lb average so your still good...don't be discouraged. |
Ladies~I did very bad last week. Dh was on Vacation,a dn we kept busy the whole week, but that means that we ate out a ton! I am up 1.5 pounds. but I did make it to the gym today and I plan on getting there 5 times this week.
Everyone did a great job! now we need to keep moving forward, and put our missteps behind us. We can do it!!! Yay for all the losses! |
Hello Everyone.
I'm baaaack. I have missed everyone so much. It is time to buckle down and get busy. Hope to lose 15lbs by the end of February, as I am up to 186, I think it is doable, don't you?? Cannot tell a lie, I checked into gastric bypass, and if approved by my insurance will proceed with it. It was not an easy decision, and know it will not be easy once the surgery is done, but feel I cannot get a leg up on this weight loss issue, as I have been trying for the past 6 years and have not once reached my goal. Sorry to hear of all the losses. It is especially hard this time of year. Mom had a stroke mid-December so we celebrated Christmas in the hospital. She got out on Dec. 29. She is doing much better and has gotten feeling back in her left side all but her hand, which may or may not recover. Cheers to the New Year. Hugs Annie |

I am feeling truly happy for the first time in about 10 weeks. Everything seems alright in the world. I have my focus, direction and purpose all in place. I have redefined much and am very pleased with where I see my life, my family’s lives heading . I have printed my weekly calendar and slotting in the must do’s looking at the want to do’s next. Dishes are all done DW is running.Need to write a cheque.2 hours til my meeting. Need to plan that time too. HUGS!!!!! |

Ok everyone, I need some help, I am getting bored with food. I haven't been getting enough calories in and when that happens my body holds on to every ounce of fat that it can. I am still losing but I don't want to stall out. Anyone have any new exciting recipes or snacks?? Help please!!

I usually try to read most of a forum before I start to post to get a "feel for the room" but with over 200 pages of posts...not going to happen! :D Let me introduce myself. I am 24 a teacher in DE and have been heavy all my life. (I know I was well over 200 since I was in 8th grade) I currently weight 272. My highest weight ever was 278 and in 1999 I lost 77 lbs in 3-4 monthes. Now for those of you good at math that brought me to 201, 2 little lbs to ONEderland. Then I fell off the wagon. :( Maybe that was a good thing, I had lost a lot of weight but was NOT HEALTHY. :eek: I used pills, I rarely ate, and was miserable. Well the weight has slowly crept on. I have dieted a few times since then with a little success and I started here again weighing 276 a mere 2 lbs where I started so long ago! :o ONEderland is such a far away goal for me sometimes I feel it may be Narnia or some other mythical place but it really is what I want most! :carrot: :carrot: So as of the New Year (I know so typical) but in the past 12 days I have rediscovered 3FC, I have been very good with what I ate, and I have exercised for at least 30 minutes almost everyday. I really am feeling good and so far have lost 4 lbs. And unlike times in the past I FEEL better. And isn't that what this journey should be about??:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Mari |

We are having a shut-in day. We made it out to our little country store 2 miles down the road and slip-slide all over the place..LOL. I fell getting out of our pickup then dh tried to save me and fell also. We sat there laughing, what a pair of flakes. They say our ice will last til tuesday. I hope not..:dizzy: I've been pigging out :ink: The grandson and both sons and one of their friends from up the street are wearing out the tv playing x-box. At least they are quite. Good morning everyone. It I got it right, everyone here is working toward dropping the "2" from the beginning of their weight. Amazing, at my thinist I was 150 and now I can't wait to get below 200, how did that happen????:dizzy:
I've been seeing a nutritionist, I actually started with her last February, but dropped out after I lost 30 lbs, I got kind of cocky and thought I could go it alone, obviously not, gained 20 back. So, last month I was back with her and I've been doing pretty well, ups and downs. I try to go to the YMCA and do 40 minutes of cardio four or five times a week. Unfortunately I can't make it on weekends, which I think is what causes me to screw up so bad by Sunday. Good luck everyone -- I hope today is a great start to your week!! |

Welcome to the newbies. It's great to have you with us. I have been swammped this week but this board hasn't been out of my thoughts. I don't always get to post every day like I would like to so I'm shooting for 2-4 days a week. I'm happy to report a 1 lb loss for the week. I have been having to do a lot of self-talking myself out of things but that's ok because I have listened to myself for years talking myself into eating more than I know I should. I'm listening to the postive me instead of the me that tells me I have failed before. I must get back to work ladies. I just wanted to stop in, read the posts and let you know I 'm around. Work on that 1 lb. Remember...just one lb at a time....we can do this! |

I hit a rough patch yesterday. I was having a "hungry" "tiered" "stressed" day. I did okay throughout the day, but on the way home from work I heard a radio commercial for McDonalds Chicken nuggets, and I lost control. I got 12 nuggets, and ate them all in the car within a few miles. I then was stressed and next thing I knew I had a bag of chocoalte pretzels opened. I ate 3 before i even realized what I was doing. So I pulled over my car, through out the pretzels and the fries I had ordered but hadn't eaten yet. I went home and did a 60 minute workout instead of my usual 30 and I ate only an apple for dinner. Hopefully that made up for my slip!
New rule for me....NO absoulutely NO food in my car!! Mari |

:) Just saying hello. I'd like to join you all in the quest for Onederland. I made it there in 2005 for about 3 days, then never saw it again. I have, however, managed to keep off almost half of my previous loss. Was 277, and am now at around 240. (Had gotten down to 198.) I'm determined to stay on track this year, let nothing stop me and get there again. So glad to be here with you all. I love the support here. Thanks!

I hope you don't mind an unrelated weight loss question. Friday I went to work, worked all day and at 4:55 p.m. I was called into the VP of Sales office and told that I was being terminated. It was eluded to that I had acted in past behavior (early in my career) that had come to their attention again and that it was putting the company at risk and therefore they had to terminate me. They would not give me specifics, they only kept saying that because it had happened in the past (which I will say that something did happen and we agreed it was an isolated incident and to move on) and someone mentioned something similar happening again. There is NOTHING that I can acount for that happened again. They said that they would state to Unemployment that I had violated company policy and that when a reference called they would only be given my dates of employment and salary. I don't know how I should handle filling out applications when asked why I am no longer employeed there or what I should say in an interview. Can anyone help me? |

As long as you are not too negative about your past employer, you should be fine. BTW, what industry do you work in? Do you work in an "at will" employer state? You may be able to claim wrongful termination, if they didn't document your behavior properly. |
