Ok..when I get busy, to busy for me I have a gain at the scales. That's the way it is and the only way to get around it is to make sure that I make myself a priority. Sounds easy, but not for a caretaker like me. It's something I'm really going to have to work at, but I must because I want to and I'm not going to get the results what I want if I don't do it.

My stomach is messed up today but I know it's because I've been overeating. Today I'm detoxing. I've gained back 7 of the 10 lbs I lost..time to get at it again and this time I'm not stopping. No one or NOTHING is getting between me and that size 12!

It was great to read everyones posts. Sorry that I don't have time for personals right now. I'll try to get here this weekend and get more involved.

Susie: YOU GO GIRL....Make sure you take care of yourself.
I've always put myself and my health on the back burner. I was the oldest child by 7years. I married the baby of his family. The I had my kids fairly young.So...I have been taking putting others first my whole life...It's our turn my friend. :carrot:

Hollyhock 07-21-2006 06:04 PM

((Annie))

Yeah! Deb!!

Keep going Susie!!

Hi girlie, UPS!!!!!

8 kids today, I cleaned all morning and sorted stuff for the market tomorrow. We went out for dinner last night because hubby was home early from work. My MIL sent $25, almost paid for it all. No dishes is great!!!!

I did 2 loads of wash this morning and folded and put them away while i watched my soap upstairs.Then I headed outside and filled the wading pool and turned on the slippery slider. Darn kids complained about the pool being too small, whine , whine....I dumped it out and put it away( possibly for good).
Still played on the slippery slider. Apparently that is good enough for them.
I am fading a bit. The one little guy needs a sharp eye so no siesta for me today.
I can sit and veg for a bit at least.

Need to come up with something exciting for supper.
Thinking we need a Sam’s club run too. I am out of KD and canned goods. Definitely cheaper there in bulk. I get trays of chicken pieces too. DD5 need a new swim suit, hers was a hand me down when she was 2. It is riding up her bum these days. I want to get new pillows for our spare bed for our company too.
Mom called to ask me how it felt to be 41 and then talked about herself for a 1/2 hour.
um..... thanks Mom ....we had a lovely dinner out with my gift from my MIL!! *giggle*

My sister in law emailed suggesting that maybe hubby would to all the evening chores( she is married to his bro and they are 2 peas in a pod) . I emailed back..... I would be thrilled with him just not being a total assh*le for a few hours.LOL!!!!!!!! Major giggles from both of us!!

To be honest he has been pretty great lately......................even helpful or supportive at times.......................

HUGS!!!

I hope you are having a wonder b-day. :hug:

I'm getting excited about our roadtrip. On the 31st we are driving to Dayton, Ohio to see BIL and family then stopping back by western kentucky to spend a few days with MIL. I'm just glad to get out of here. I hope the weather gets cooler and it rains on us.
Foods been good I've stayed op and made it to curves 3x this week.

Later

annie175 07-21-2006 08:54 PM

Thank you for the hugs.

Ole Auntie Flo dropped in yesterday, which really explains the blues of last weekend. It seems the older I get the harder that time of month gets on me. I was lazy and slept a lot last weekend. It is becoming a pattern with the monthly cycle. It is **** getting older.

The weight has been up and down this week. Seems one day of control, then next day, out of control with eating. At least there are some days with control. haha

Stopped at the movies on the way home tonight to see "The Devil Wears Prada". A real cute movie. Had to laugh on parts of it, it reminded my of how dynamic my job is, and thinking I work for the tazmanien devil myself. haha My boss saw it a couple of weeks ago and said it was a cute movie, now I get what she is talking about.

My son got a speeding ticket and since he is 17 and won't be 18 til next month, he has take defensive driving school, which involved renting the dvd for 40 bucks, taking the test over the phone, AND PASSING it. He also had to pay the 118.00. ticket. Sorry bout working hard all summer to pay fees. Slow down.

Going to St. Louis next weekend to visit a GF from childhood. We met when we were 4. grew up together. Should be fun.

Hello to all, stay focused and happy.

(((Hugs)))

HippyHippo 07-22-2006 12:48 PM

Hello ladies,

For some reason I haven't posted in ages! I do read the posts every day. Maybe I just didn't have anything to say - really odd for me!!! lol

Hope you had a wonderful birthday Holly, I will be 41 next month too...

PMS & AF had me beat the past couple of weeks as I have a summer cold too...it got so bad one side of my nose swelled up and DH reckons there is either a bite or a zit in there too...I don't normally get zits IN my nose so who knows! AF was good to me in that she was 28 days on the dot and only lasted 3 days, gotta love metformin and vit b complex!

I am down 1.2lbs this week, I am getting so close to 199 but it seems to be taking forever now. I was hoping to be there by Aug 1 but I am now aiming for my birthday on Aug 27. I think I am eating too much sugar free goodies. Even tho they are sugar free, they're still goodies! I know i've eaten too many when I get the Hershey Squirts for a couple of days! DH loves to roam stores when he is on runs and pick sugar free stuff up for me that might not be available locally. He is still losing too, we're both going slowly but surely and at least it's in the right direction.

Well, that's about it for now...

Snotty regards...

Love n Hugs

Sarah

Hello Ladies,

I want to join the race to 199!!! My husband is currently deployed and is returning the end of Sept. I know it is a stretch but I am determined to make it below 200 before he gets home.

I am turning 30 on the 8th of August and I decided two months ago it was time to make a change. I don't want to get older, I really liked my 20s, but as long as I can't change time I would rather be a thinner 30 than a fat one.

I just recently found 3FC when doing an internet search. I joined and I love it. This forum is giving me what I need to suceed. So, count me in on the Race to 199!!!

upswife 07-23-2006 09:34 PM

HI ladies!!! I have't been in, in ages! I am hanging by threads some days, and others I do fine. This weekend kept me super busy-not to mention all the food I ate :( WIll post more tomorrow...have to get the kiddies in bed.

((Hugs)) all!!

Debbie 07-24-2006 01:31 PM

Hi everyone,
I'm excited :cloud9: I bought new jeans this w-end and I dropped a size. I finally in a size 18. I started this race in 28's. :dancer:
I've been op except exercise. I plan to go to curves this afternoon.

Tiff: :welcome3: Glad to have you here. Debbie rides a harley also...LOL

Sarah : :bravo: You rock !!!

upswife 07-24-2006 01:56 PM

Weekends really just kill me!!! I work anywhere from 5-8 hrs then we usually do something, then get the kiddies all ready for church the next day. This weekend I worked, then we went to a minor league baseball game. (DH's work outing) It started to rain in the 4th inning, so we all had to stand in the back. We made it all the way to the 9th, but they were tied, and the kids were getting tired. So we left early, but later found out that the home team lost :(

Sunday we went to church, the to DH's baseball game. THey won, but it was a very long game I thinl it was 3.5 hours. Of course we ate badly both days, but I think I have been having some gallbladdre pain, and I will have to go back on the low fat diet to keep from having surgery. I had some problems 7yrs ago, and it hasn't bothered me since, but I think I overdid it on Sat, and that is why it bothered me all weekend. Today is a new day, and I seem to be doing ok so far. DH gets paid this week, so I am looking forward to going food shopping, so I have more fresh fruits and veggies in the house. DD2 is crabbing at me, so I have to run. Have a great Monday!!

TiffRidesAHarley 07-24-2006 02:23 PM

Woohoo!!! I am getting closer, I weighed myself this morning, TWO MORE POUNDS LOST!!! I was so excited. I only have 27 to go until the end of Sept!!
I just wanted to share.

Hollyhock 07-24-2006 07:10 PM

Ups~ love your PIC!!!!

I ride a fantasy Harley behind Bon Jovi!!!

Stevi-rocks 07-24-2006 07:27 PM

This is quite possibly the LONGEST thread I have ever seen. WOW. 2004 huh? Anybody still around from then? Any whooo....I am currently @ 222...I NEED a challenge to get to Onederland. Can I play too?

upswife 07-25-2006 09:54 AM

Holly~Thanks! It took alot for me to put it up. Unfortunately I don't have that many pics of myself. I used to be the camera person, so I only have what other friends have given us.

Stevi~ Wow what a difference hair color makes!!!

Yesterday was bad, but I did go exercise, so that is something. Hope you ladies have a great day!

HippyHippo 07-25-2006 11:38 AM

Good morning ladies!

Something odd happened. Since I weighed on Friday (208.4lbs) I have lost 4.4lbs - Sunday morning I was 204.4, Monday 204 and today still 204 (4 ozs was from my puking marathon on Sunday I think when blood sugar plummeted). How the **** did that happen and how I wish I could make it happen again! lol I am hoping it will stay off till tomorrow which is official weigh in day, not gonna change my ticker till then. Could be that with this darn cold I've not been eating a whole lot but what I was eating was a mix of good and bad....very very strange, soup and toast, managed some eggs, and after BS plummeted I demanded fat, chunky fries from the boardwalk and ate half if not 3/4 of a bucket... I knew sugar would make my sugar spike, good carbs would take to long to stop the nausea...sometimes bad carbs are good for something lmao! That's my excuse and I am sticking to it.

I cannot shift this damn cold. My nostril is still swollen and crusty and really really sore. To make matters worse I seem to have a zit coming on the outside edge now.

Welcome Tiff and Stevi! Well done on the 2lbs Tiff!
Holly - no wonder I find it squashed on that Harley behind JBJ...lol you too huh! I had a Harley when I lived in the UK, can get back into my worn out old leather jacket again now...can almost zip it up! Can't wait for the day it's zips up loose again and I"m wearing my jeans that hang faithfully in the front of my closet to remind me to be good...about 10lbs and I should be able to get them done up at least - not sure about comfortably tho!
Debbie! Congrats on the new jeans - see above lol
Ellen, I hope your gallbladder behaves, I hear the pain can be awful. I saved your pic to my puter and lightened it a bit so I could see you better - you're beautiful! If you want to see it PM me and I will send you a copy...

Well, that's about it for now...

Love n Hugs

Sarah

TiffRidesAHarley 07-25-2006 03:05 PM

Has anyone noticed that as you lose weight, your complextion becomes bad. I have never had a problem with zits in the past, not as a teenager, not as an adult (except for the occasionaly monthly thing). But now, they seem to be popping up all over the place. My face is a regular zit farm!!

annie175 07-25-2006 06:01 PM

Hello ladies.........

The week is going pretty well so far. I have to make zucchini bread tonight for a pitch in at work tomorrow. Thank God I can resist the bread, will have to struggle with all the pitch in food.

Welcome to all the newbies. Yes some of us have been here since the start, or at least not too many months after the start of this thread. Girlie started the thread and she still pops in here. This is great thread and lots of support.

So far OP this week, still no exercise. I am convinced someone will have to drag me into exercising. I just don't like it.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

(((HUGS)))

Debbie 07-25-2006 09:48 PM

Hey everyone,
I've had a good day. Lots of walking at work then made it to curves.
I'm a little short on pts but I'm sure I'll eat something else before bedtime.

Annie: I love zucchini bread. I shredded several batchs of zucchini from last years garden. This year garden was a flop. It got too hot to soon and way too little rain.

Tiff: The acne could be more than the diet. You must be under a lot of stress with dh gone. Maybe it will clear up soon. :hug:

Sarah: Great loss!! I just hope you get to feeling better soon. :balloons:

Stevi: :welcome3: This is a great place for ideas and support.
We are glad to have you join us.

Ellen: That is a good pix. I also am the family photographer so there are very few pix of me.

Holly: You know we are going to make you share Bon Jovi...LOL

Later :grouphug:

TiffRidesAHarley 07-25-2006 10:20 PM

Your probably right, never thought of that.

~I am also the family photographer so there WON'T be any pics of me. It is done on purpose you know.

HippyHippo 07-26-2006 10:50 AM

Official weigh in day and I am still 204!

Ticker changed! lol

Sarah

Debbie 07-26-2006 03:47 PM

Tif: I noticed you are in Minnesota. Do you have a good chicken and wild rice soup recipe? I truly love the stuff but was never able to get the recipe.
OMG...It's great..not diet just plain old yummy!!!

TiffRidesAHarley 07-26-2006 05:29 PM

lol, just because I am from Minnesota means I should have chicken wild rice soup recipe???? lol Yeah, I have it here somewhere, I will look for it. I also have a low cal one that I used when I was on WW. It is very good. It will take some digging around, but I will find it.

I'm wondering why no one has asked for my Tater Tot Hotdish recipe...hmm It's a MInnesota thing!

TiffRidesAHarley 07-26-2006 05:47 PM

This is one I have used in the past, it is from All Recipes.com That is where I originally got it. IT IS VERY GOOD!!!! They WW one I am looking for uses canned 98% FF Cream of Mushroom soup. Still looking.

* 1/2 cup butter
* 1 finely chopped onion
* 1/2 cup chopped celery
* 1/2 cup sliced carrots
* 1/2 pound fresh sliced mushrooms
* 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
* 6 cups chicken broth
* 2 cups cooked wild rice
* 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked and cubed
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
* 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
* 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
* 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 1 cup slivered almonds
* 3 tablespoons dry sherry
* 2 cups half-and-half

Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the onion, celery and carrots and saute for 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms and saute for 2 more minutes. Then add the flour and stir well. Gradually pour in the chicken broth, stirring constantly, until all has been added. Bring just to a boil, reduce heat to low and let simmer.
Next, add the rice, chicken, salt, curry powder, mustard powder, parsley, ground black pepper, almonds and sherry. Allow to heat through, then pour in the half-and-half. Let simmer for 1 to 2 hours. (Note: Do not boil or your roux will break.)

Stevi-rocks 07-26-2006 05:50 PM

Scale won't budge. And I hate my scale, its the Taylor digital that never gives you the same reading twice....well today it did. 222....222....222....222....no matter where I put my feet or put it on the floor. ARGGGGGGG!

Debbie 07-26-2006 05:51 PM

Tif: Sorry about that but I've been to minnesota several times and I always
made dh stop for soup. I would wait on purpose til we got there so I could eat it. I can't remember but theres a place in lakeville that had it frozen we would buy it and eat it later. They had great breads too...

TiffRidesAHarley 07-26-2006 06:03 PM

*Debbie - NO need to apologize, I thought it was funny. I can't find that dang WW recipe though. It was years ago when I used it.

*Stevi - I have the same type of scale, it drives me crazy! Which number do you use to determine your actual weight. The low, high, or do you weigh yourself a few times and average them?

Don't worry, the scale will move soon. (maybe it is having a little computer glich) hee hee. Blame the scale!! Maybe have someone else weigh themselves on it and see if it makes a difference.

Debbie 07-26-2006 09:33 PM

Hey guys,
I was only down .6 but it's ok...it's down. I should be disappointed but I'm not. I'll do better next week.
I did make it to curves this am that's 2x this week.

Tif: Thanks loads...:hug: Of all the regional foods that one really stuck with me, also philly cheese steaks. ..:nono: BAD GIRL...lol

Everyone have a great evening :grouphug:

:dust:

TiffRidesAHarley 07-26-2006 09:53 PM

No problem, It is gooood soup. Are you sure you don't want the Tater Tot Hotdish recipe?? lol, if you were from Minnesota you would understand that this a staple.

upswife 07-26-2006 10:11 PM

Wow~there has been a ton of activity. Sure everyone posts when my electricity is out. They were working on it all day first it was off , then on, off and back on. I am hoping for it to stay on, because if it goes off again overnight, the house gets too stuffy. and it is too humid to turn the air off now. YOu all sound like you are doing great!!!!

I am in the same boat as Stevi~the scale does not want to move! BUt I know that when it does, I will drop quite a few at once.

((hugs)) to all!!

TiffRidesAHarley 07-26-2006 11:09 PM

It will happen!!! Soon, I think. I checked with the crystal ball for you. (ok maybe it was an 8 ball, but same thing) hee hee

heritagephoto 07-26-2006 11:45 PM

Hi Ladies (no men?),

I'm new to 3fc and this seems to be the perfect thread, so I'll join you. How many folks have met their 200 lb goal then disappeared?

Probably like most of you, I never thought I'd go over the 200 mark , but here I am. My home scales have me at 213, but official scales (doctor, YMCA) say 218, so that's what I'm recording. I'm going to try to get to 199 by October 1.

I've been dieting off and on forever, and hovered around 175-190 lbs. until surgical menopause in 2001. I also had chemotherapy and felt cheated that I didn't get the perk of weight loss (if you're going to have chemo that's the one thing to look forward to). But no, my treatment typically leads to weight gain so I've ballooned up from 170 to 220 in the past 5 yrs. I'm mostly happy to be cancer free, so I became more forgiving of my weight. However, it's getting uncomfortable and extremely hard to find clothes in normal stores, so I'm attempting to lose again and feel uncharacteristically confident that I can do it.

I'll try to catch up through reading the older posts. Good luck to everyone!

Stevi-rocks 07-27-2006 12:41 AM

Tiffy~ I take the best of 7! Ok maybe five...but once it starts repeating, thats usually the weight I take.
Heritage~ You are VERY ambitious! This thread is 2+ yeasr old and has 261 pages! Phew! I'm good with startin' here....:)
Ellen~ I'll have to go look when but I had a signifigant drop (3.5lbs) last time but I plateau'd for 3 weeks before!
I had to stay home today with my baby boy due to geting his shots (make hima lil sicky) so no exercise today. Prolly for the best my foot is nearly healed!

TiffRidesAHarley 07-27-2006 02:38 AM

Welcome Joan!!!! I admire your courage. You didn't have to share everything, but you did, that takes guts.

Hollyhock 07-27-2006 08:04 AM

overcast today....................Just like me.LOL!!
Yoga class was almost painful. I am in really bad shape apparently. It could have been the 5 hours of sweeping, vacuuming and mopping tho. Feeling bad about letting myself go physically.

Hospital called. They want DD back in. They have decided her pinky is fractured.( she was playing on top of the freezer and fell off).They thought it weas broken, then just bruised..........................another 3 hours in emerg for us....................

I set my alarm for 6:30. DIdn’t get out of bed til 7 but better than 8 as kids are coming in the door. DD was up til after 10pm in bed playing.

I am freaking out that July is almost over. It doesn’t seem i accomplished very much this month.

I have 2 weeks til our international houseguests arrive. I hope I can get things nice.
Much to do every minute of every day between now and then.

After breaky, shower and the kids arrive I will clean the diningroom and then do Avon!!!

Adding on............................Hubby went to Japan in 1987 to visit his then girlfriend who was teaching English there and stayed a few months. S was an english student of hers. He and Hubby became friends. S ended up coming here and living with Hubby in London for 2 years. They have kept in touch ever since. S came to be our best man in our wedding 7 years ago. He married 4 years ago and has a 3 year old daughter. We have never met Naomi or Riku. He flys to the states regularly for business and often we will meet near a border but this time his wife a daughter are coming. They will be in LA but coming here for 4 days and then back to LA for another weeks work. Pretty awesome.

I, of course, want the house to lok nice but......we are always mid reno somewhere. Our house was built in 1960 and still had panelling and shag carpet and god awful slider windows etc.We have done so much work and totally enjoy but right now we have a stairwell ripped out. The upstairs bathroom was completley gutted and is almost done. The gardens are pretty weedy too because i have been working so much . That is a labour of love if i can make the time......some days I just want a nice, simple, tidy( maybe even clean) home for longer then 3 minutes.

I was monumnetally disappointed but the things I found destroyed in the basement and then hid or pushed to the sides. My helper has been supervising with the kids down there. I have asked that things be put away at least.........

Wow! This has been a busy place. Hello to all the new people. We are so glad to have you here with us.

I really feel a lot of energy here. Let's keep it up ladies and we soon will be down at those scales! I feel renewed just reading the posts today.

I am happy to report a 3.6 lb loss last night at TOPS weigh-in.
This morning at work a co-worker said to me "You look really thin today". Wow! Did that feel great.

I sometimes use Friday's as a cheat day, but I'm not going to do that anymore. Because who am I cheating? ME! I allow myself to have more than I know I should and then I have to go through the sugar withdrawl all over again. So, no over-indulgence for me anymore. No more cheat days. I might have a special something every once in awhile but I will not over-specialize any food item anymore.

My goal is 10 more lbs lost before the cruise. It's 6 weeks away. I think that is very doable.

Have a great day everyone and I promise you will see me here more. I've missed to much this week!

Debbie: I would love to catch up with you in Dayton, OH. It's only 45 min from me. PM me and I'll give you my phone #.

Stevi-rocks 07-28-2006 11:56 AM

Down 2 lbs this morning!

Debbie 07-28-2006 01:57 PM

WOO HOO :woo: :cp: :bravo: Everyone has had such great losses.

If you haven't lost don't get discouraged. It will happen! Just never give up. YOU ARE WORTH IT...:grouphug:

MyChoice2bfit 07-28-2006 05:03 PM

Debbie: I sent you a PM with my phone #'s. If you don't get it, let me know.

Debbie 07-28-2006 05:28 PM

Susie: I got it.
