Got a LOT accomplished yesterday afternoon. Wooden benches and little wooden table painted, grass cut, sprayed for bugs, sprayed for weeds, watered my veggie and flower gardens, my sales rep stopped by my house to pick up a packet for her meeting this morning up north....ate dinner and went to bed.
Today is lunch with some friends from old job. Haven't seen them in about a year but keep up with them on FB. Wore my C jewelry to show off...hehe. Hair appt at 4:30, then off to the party store to get decorations for Dad's BD party. I probably won't get home til around 6:30 or 7 tonight.
LAURA....hope you are on your way to having the most marvelous girl's weekend ever!
MELLIE...have fun at TJs. That place makes me spend way too much money. Probably because healthy food cost more, which imo is crazy.
HAPPY...I am jealous of all your nature. Baby deer are so cute. They are a little more trusting than the grown deer. They tend to get a little closer to you, before retreating.
SHADDIE...please tell me they do not have you duct taped to a chair....hope all is going well with job.

Got a statement from Social Security yesterday. If I wait till I'm 66 to retire I get full benefits. So that's my plan, and I hope I'm still well enough to work at the water plant till then. ugh 4 more years.
We had another water leak yesterday but not as bad as before. I'm curious as to what is causing them.

Ceejay - Barring some sort of unfortunate injury/disability, I'm sure you'll be able to work 4 more years if you keep trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Has is been really dry in your area? Maybe the dry soil pulls away from the water mains and when there's nothing to support the main, it breaks.
Mel - Sounds like a great day - so nice Willy was around to help you with the shopping. Love the graphic - very fitting, LOL. I'm not off on my getaway yet, but I had a pretty nice lazy day today.

Last night bf and I went to dinner (bbq), then to the electronics store for my $20 dvd player, then Trader Joe's. Mel, didn't buy nearly as much as you, but one bag came to over $40 thanks to a couple bottles of wine.
This morning I lazed around and watched an episode of The Good Wife. Then I got over to Walmart for a few things. After that was lunch and then some lounging in the backyard, where I also painted my toenails a vivid orange color. Got a load of laundry going and then took doggy for his walk.
When we left the house, we must have caught a bird family at a bad time because they were really angry at us...must be a baby bird around for sure because they were still angry and on the attack when we got back. Wow. For a second I thought they might chase Coal and me into the house!!! I might be going out the back door for a while...
Well, my one load of laundry's done, so I'll get that in the dryer and start another. I brought up a suitcase and better figure out what I'm bringing with me.
Might pop in on my phone over the weekend...or I might be busy drinking some cherry wine.

Didn't get a whole lot done. Did pick up the living room and dusted the furniture in there and have done two loads of laundry. Went to eat pizza with a couple of friends. I didn't over do on the pizza but my body is rejecting the sodium. Ankles are swelling big time.

Talked to my bff that is going to Pigeon Forge with me in July about getting a hotel room. She's all for it after I told her how many people are coming. She's going review and choose from a list that I made. A couple I really liked.

Last day to get things done before dad's 85th BD party tomorrow. I am leaving today after the Quarterly Meeting with management. That will be about 1 pm. I didn't make it to the party store the other night so I have that to do and also go food shopping for the party. I am excited about it all but also not excited..make sense? haha
I am going to try a new salsa recipe...what do you girls think of this recipe?
Strawberry Salsa
1 pound strawberries hulled and cut up
1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions
1 jalapeno seeded and diced
1/2 cup cilantro chopped
2 TB fresh lime juice
1/8 t. salt.
Gently mix ingredients together in a bowl. Serve with tortilla chips or over fish or chicken.
I just think this sounds yum. I will let you know after the party how it went.
MELLIE...mind the doctor. We want you around for many many more years. Blood pressure issues (I have) just really p me off. My doc said mine is probably genetic as maternal, paternal parents, G-parents, and all siblings have it. Lucky me. Thank God I do not have diabetes. They all have that too. Keeping my fingers crossed.
CEEG...we had pizza on Wednesday night also from Pizza Hut. I just love their thin crust pizza. Well actually there are not many pizzas I do not like...I think maybe that is a problem area for me...lol

Today, I have an appointment over the lunch hour. I'm still feeling very optimistic about that I'll get good news from at least some of these appointments, and since I'm not a very patient person the waiting and not knowing is probably going to drive me round the bend. I'd love to get some really good news really soon!!
Oh, and btw, regarding one of the places I talked to...the CEO who I met with on Wednesday sent me an email yesterday asking me some "how would I handle certain situtations" type questions, and I responded honestly and articulately. I just got a phone message from the CEO saying that not only did he appreciate my well thought out responses, he also liked my writing style! And he wants me to meet with the COO who is in charge of HR so we can "wrap this thing up". Sounds hopeful, I think!! Obviously, I don't have an offer in hand (yet), but hopefully soon!
We've got a lot to do around the house and yard this weekend...so I doubt there will be any rest for the weary.

Good morning everyone! Yesterday went smoothly with only one or two small hiccups. The kiddies all got to go out and play with friends. DD1and DD2 went swimming at a friends house. I made lemon pepper chicken and mixed veggies for the kids. Then DH and I went out to dinner. We went to the Tilted Kilt. I see now why it has become so popular so fast. The food was really good and even I was surprised at the amount of “eye candy” LOL I was teasing DH and told him that he is not allowed to go there for lunch with his boss anymore!
I have not been awful, but have not kept track of my calories for the last week. I need to hop back on that and to keep pushing the water. My follow up apt is next week with the Doc and I want to beable to show a good loss.
I’ve had a slight headache for the last few days. Hoping it’s just allergies, but I can’t seem to shake it. Hopefully, it will not get in the way of working this weekend.

Ceejay - I'm thinking the smartphone will be confusing at first and then once you figure it out, you'll wonder how you ever got by without it. I am somewhat fascinated by the Iphone commercials with the talking phone lady but I wonder if she eventually gets as annoying as the Garmin (GPS navigation tool) lady.
