Good morning ladies -

It's a cool, gray day - perfect for working. DH was chatty this morning so I'm not going to post right now. I am tackling the junk in the spare bedroom today. Will be back later when I've earned some "me" time. Happy Saturday!

Morning
Slept till 9.30 this morning. I'm a little groggy for some reason--must be the gray skies and cooler temperatures.

I've done a small load of laundry and rearranged the living room. My neighbor are going to Mi Pueblo's. They've reopened and have been swamped. They had to replace the roof after the storm. Neither of us like huge crowds. I need to go to the grocery store. I want to bake a meatloaf for next week.

More later
Time to go eat.

Morning all,
Mel didn't lay pipes this weekend. Too much digging necessary for that yet. I didn't get to the garden centre for blocks either. But I did cook a bacon and egg pie, make some soup, cook a chicken for our lunches and quick dinners next week. Tell Richie to send over a sammy for lunch please.

Ceejay - congrats on the new car. I still don't have a clear idea of what I want so it may now wait until I get back from my training trip in July. Should have some time then. I think this job will go over time a bit. Meantime there is plenty of things I can do without a new car.

Happy - so scary of the DH. Glad you were not with them, you may have performed a couple of castrations before the cops arrived.

Michelle - glad you enjoyed the water again. It really is a good workout.

Guess that is about it. Annie will be busy with work and BB. I see the flooding is not abating along the Mississippi and now they are struggling to save cities in Lousiana. Not a pretty sight. We are still having problems with flood waters in parts of the State. They just don't go away quickly.
Anyway - today's challenge is to complete 3 inside jobs (floors, bathroom, 3rd bedroom) and 3 outdoor jobs (sweep the verandah and carport, remove the weeds from the wall garden, dig out the side garden ready for pavers) It's going to be busy. I'd better go get started.

Oh and I forgot, I brought home some work to do and I'd better sort out the penguin stuff and send it to each of you. I've been lax in that.

Morning all.

Shad - Mmmm, bacon & egg pie. Sounds like you had a productive weekend! Now off to another jam-packed work week?? Not surprised the project will go over schedule with all the hours you've been putting in.

Ceejay - Congrats on your new car!! Enjoy!! When a new restaurant opens, it always seems better to wait a bit to let the crowds die down. Bf and I still have a new Mexican restaurant we want to try out one 'burb over.

Happy - Hope you've gotten enough done on your weekend to earn some "me" time. Wow, good job of hub to help get those guys off the streets before they killed someone. OMG, bears in the driveway!! You will be having a host of adventures in your North Woods home!! But at least there won't be as many of those awful bugs you seem to get down south!!

Mel - Yay for a quiet weekend. I like the movie Sabrina!! Both the original and the remake. Sorry you've got the drama with your inspections. I hope everything goes okay with that - you're one of the deserving ones!! Good luck to Jen & Rich getting the kid drama sorted out!! There's always something - and usually several somethings!!! No gardening this weekend - neither I nor the weather are fit for it - more later. Bf's mum isn't going to do tomatoes on her little courtyard - not enough sun. She was going to do fake flowers and I told her bf would bring over some hosta from our place. Ours is growing like it's on steroids, and bf need only dig out one to be able to divide it into at least a dozen more, that's how crazy they are. I know they are so commonplace and boring, but I'm tempted to plant them everywhere because I know they are survivors if even the dog and I can't kill them!!

Michelle - Happy 50th to DH!!! How was the fossil show?? I'm so glad you're seeing results from the water workouts, and able to increase your walking time bit by bit. Progress!!! Hope Mischief continues to benefit from the new meds & adjusted dosage.

Ellen - Happy Belated Anniversary to you and dh! Oh I'm sure you turned off the AC this weekend - this weather is unbelievable - from 80's to 50's, sun to wind & rain!!! Sigh.

Annie - Hope you enjoyed your days off from CVS this weekend. Loved the photos you posted. What a nice house your nephew has - and a gorgeous view. Post another photo of that view come autumn!!

Hope I haven't forgotten anyone! I had such a busy week at work I couldn't do much posting, but I could catch up on reading your posts via my iPhone on the train. Speaking of the train - on my line two trains after the one I take and one station down, on Friday morning the train struck a gravel truck that went around another car and the down crossing gates. The two front train cars derailed and 30+ people were injured, including the train engineer. The truck driver died. Thank goodness the derailed cars didn't fall over or it would have been worse. I've not seen much news coverage of this at all, but I heard the truck driver had over 50 traffic citations since 1986 - including a DUI. Horrible that he could still be on the streets driving for a living (or just driving period!!) - and look what ultimately happened! Awful.

So Friday the trains were delayed all day, even on my commute home - half hour late. Not a great start to my weekend, and I have caught a cold to boot - came on suddenly Friday afternoon. (Whine, whine) Relatively mild, but still making me miserable. Probably didn't help that I didn't sleep well all week. No workout yesterday, just a dog walk before the rain and wind started. Went to a short team meeting for the Relay for Life event I'm doing in June. Otherwise, did a lot of reading and not much else.

Today will be the same because the weather is just so ugly - cold and windy and rainy. No outdoor activities! Sorted and started laundry before I sat down to post here, and will do a lot of that today as well as grocery shopping.

Okay, I'm going to run out and grab my newspaper from the driveway, brew some tea, and read and sip between loads of laundry.

Adios mis amigas!

Morning all...up and at this morning, getting ready to clean house. All laundry is done...it is raining and making for a yucky practice at the Indy 500. Doesn't bother me as I am NOT going. Heck, I am not even going to the Humana Tent day for our brokers/agents this Thursday. As much as I love NASCAR, Indy cars don't do much for me. NASCAR drivers are funnier and way cuter...lol MELLIE would enjoy the NASCAR boys--

BB will be home this evening after guard. Can hardly wait. Even if he does kind of make havoc out of my house...it gives me something to do once he goes home...lol

Sissy came by Friday night while I was at CVS work to take a bath. Her BF is redoing their bathroom and the tub is out of commission. She had a peaceful evening here by herself. I forgot she was doing that so when I got home from work at 10:15 pm and the living room light was on and things were a bit amiss, I kind of paused for the burglar. haha...nope, only the hamburglar...hahaha

I didn't do much of anything yesterday, just sat around, watched stupid stuff on TV, and ate to my hearts content. Yep, a regular pig, even ordered Chinese delivered for dinner. Kung Pao Chicken and Crab Rangoon. Back to discipline today tho as all that has made me feel a little like poooooooooo. Fingers are doing better today, I put some Icy Hot on them last night and really wished I would of remembered I did that before I rubbed my eyes and forehead. Couldn't see for about 10 minutes for my eyes watering...there now you can laugh at that blonde move.....hahahahha

Better get busy on this house before BB gets here, not sure what time guard is going to release him. That way he has something to mess up when he gets here....YES I LOVE IT!!

Much love and many hugs altho soggy ones because of this rainy weather.

Morning
Laura
Sorry you caught a cold. Stay dry this week end hopefully the rain will not be to mcuh of a problem.

Annie
I've done the same thing with the Icy Hot. Yum on the Chinese food.

It's back to work for me this morning.
Rode the bike for about 20 minutes last night and did some exercises with 5 pound weights. My arms were a bit sore last night at bed time but okay this morning.

Good morning ladies!
Been working all weekend. I’ve also been staying up too late, thus being tired and getting out the door for work just on time. Hate feeling rushed on my way in. This weather is going nuts, just would like a few really nice days so I can open up the house and feel all the fresh air.
DH did all the laundry this weekend, just have to put away all of mine piled up in my room. Also need to finally go thru all the girls clothes, just hav’t been able to force myself to do it yet. Kids sort of cleaned on Thursday so I just need to put together a plan to keep it cleaned.
One more day of work tomorrow. Today has been super slow…everyone is calling with problems with their furnaces because everyone is trying to turn their heat on it is so chilly again!

Annie~I think I just need to import you up here to help motivate me with all this cleaning…so glad to hear you hands are doing better, but I had a similar experience with Tiger balm from DH’s baseball days. Good stuff for pain and inflation, but KEEP AWAY FROM FACE (and other sensitive areas) LOL Have fun with BB today!

Ceejay~you and me working on Sunday, but I bet you have more to keep you busy. Good going working out today…I barely managed to get out the door on time. Hope you had a great visit with your aunt and uncle, and congrats on the new car!! I hate car pmts, but we just could’t pass up the financing deal and I did not want to put any more money into our old Pontiac.

Laura~ I heard about the train. What a tragedy that someone with that kind of record is still able to drive. Sorry you commute home was delayed too. DH sometimes takes the mantra in when he has to work downtown andI remember one accident Dh was hours late coming home. Fell better soon…if it’s the virus we had it goes away in a few days and is not awful, but makes life so much fun!

Mellie~I love your posts. So much drama! Enjoy your movies and I hope the reviews all work out. I love the Gov’t when SIL and Brother got married they said she still qualified for x amt in disability which made them not eligible for food stamps, then after a few months they said the overpaid the disability and now they had to pay it all back!! What a PIA

Shad~Cooking up some good stuff down there!! Did you gel all your inside/outside jobs complete?

Happy~Did you get lost in the spare room? OMG on your DH and the hit and run, but it is something my DH would total do too, but then get mad at me if I tried to do something like that.

Michelle~I love water aerobics…even did them when I was younger. And it doesn’t even feel like exercise until after you get out of the water. How was the rock and fossil show? DD just came home with knock knock jokes about rocks…will have to look for them when I get home!

Well, have to get back to work been working on this post on and off for about an hour. Have a great day ladies.

Just a note to say John is on vacation this week and I will be going down early in the mornings to help get things rolling for the day. Of course I am hoing for a drama free week in the maint. room.

Today was nice but I turned the A/C on low and shut the wiindows. Sinus probs. We canceled the movie date but Jen delivered the chicken sammies!!
I think I could eat them every weekend.

Going to shower now and then get some wash loads sorted for this week. Might as well continue to kill 2 birds with one stone. I might actually get caught up with the wash this month!

LAURA....I CANNOT BELIEVE THE STORY ABOUT THAT DRIVER!! HOW DOES CRAP LIKE THIS KEEP HAPPENING?? VERY SAD FOR THOSE 30+ PEOPLE!!!
I AM JUST GRATEFUL IT WASN'T YOUR TRAIN HOPE YOUR COLD LEAVES YOU SOON AND YOU FEEL BETTER

ANNIE....THOSE POOR FINGERS!! MY EX USED "INFRARUB" ON HIS BODY AND THEN FORGOT TO WASH HIS HANDS BEFORE WE WENT TO BED. USE YOUR IMAGINATION HERE. I ended up sitting in the bathroom sink for about 30 minutes....went back to bed....and he'd forgotten to wash his hands still yet again!! IT WAS BACK TO THE SINK FOR POOR MELLIE!! come to think of it....maybe that's why he's my ex hope your fingers feel much better very soon. OH POOP...I LOST MY CAPS. SORRY!

CEEJAY....THE WEEKEND IS OVER??? HOPE THE FIRST DAY BACK WASN'T TOO CRAZY.

ELLEN.....I HEAR YA ON THE FURNACES. IN THE MORNING I HAVE THE HEAT ON AND IN THE AFTERNOON I HAVE THE A/C ON!!! SEND THE KIDS OVER HERE....THEY CAN HELP ME STAY CLEANED UP!! I DO HOPE YOU GET SOME TIME JUST FOR YOURSELF. HANG IN THERE

Morning all,
Well that whooshed past in a big hurry. Here I am at the coalface again. 6.30am and I am at the office! Not!

Mel - not bad having a down day from time to time. And particularly since you certainly don't get overpaid for your job. DS2 is eating the last of the b & e pie for his lunch - but I can make some more. I have the power!

Ellen - having kids always means a mountain of laundry. I'm glad they cleaned up for you while you were working. It makes life so much easier if everyone pitches in.

Laura - don't know how we can stop this stupidity on the roads. Seems that everytime I hear of something like this, there is an idiot in the background who not only doesn't care about himself, they also don't give a flying f*** about any one else around. Not sure how we get around it, but we need to.

Annie - enjoy the time with the BB. They are only lent to us for a short time and we have to make the most of what we get after they have grown. re the hamburglar, but it's nice that your kids want to come home and see you isn't it? So many families so rarely see them or hear from them once they leave home.

Ceejay - enjoy the new car. I have started to arrange finance for mine but still am unsure as to what I want. It may have to wait until after my training trip now.

Michelle and Happy - hope you are enjoying your weekends and not getting into any mischief or trouble.

I've brought lettuces in for those who want them today. I have too many in the garden. Yesterday, I filled a couple of hanging baskets with rusty red carnations, black pansies and white lobelia. They should look quite nice when they grow - but knowing my luck, the carnations which are currently flowering will be finished by the time the others grow, but then the black and white bits will be ready for the Rugby World cup tournament and NZ's colours are black and white.
Got a fair amount of my inside/ outside jobs done yesterday and then went and took some bags of shredded paper to a friend for her work. Much better than seeing them go in the bin. The next lot will go to the pet shop - they are always looking for it too.

Better go get on with the job in hand. See ya

Good morning ladies,

Very busy weekend. I could have used 2 more days on top of what I had. Starting to make some progress but it's frustrating that in decluttering, sometimes you make a bigger mess than when you started!

Can't sit here long - supposedly the guys are coming to start work on the bathroom and I have to be out of the way of their trucks in the driveway and gear. Let's hope they show up on time because the guys who were supposed to come last week to measure the window and measure for the cabinet did not show up. But they promised to be here this morning. I have a gut feeling this will not go as easily as it should...

Shad - hope that you at least got a bit of a break on the weekend heading into another busy busy week at work. Sounds like you had alot planned around the house too.

Ceejay - congratulations on the new car! Does it have some neat stuff in it? We liked the new Rav4s too.

Annie - hope you have a good weekend with the kids - I'm sure you did.

Mel - yum on the chicken sandwiches. Too bad you had to ditch the movie. Hope you have a quiet week and John has a good week off.

Ellen - I heard the weather turned darn cold up your way. Yay for DH helping with the laundry. And folding too!

Laura - never ceases to amaze me how people do dumb things with trains. Hope you got some extra rest over the weekend and sent that cold packing!

Good morning Michelle- glad to hear you found a way to get some endorphins in that didn't bother your back too badly. You must be on a high!

Ok girls, I am 5 minutes over my limit. Talk to you later. Happy Monday.
