Good Morning and TGIF for me, well except for CVS, gotta work tonight and tomorrow nite then off for 3 whole days...both jobs...not much planned, the black sheep brother will be in town, guess I should spend a VERY little time with him...actually he is getting better in his olders years. He will be 56 in August.
Sissy Dr. appt was fabulous.....I GOT TO HEAR THE HEARTBEAT!!!! THat was so exciting. As far as the baby goes, the doc said she is out of danger for miscarriage. Now as far as Sam goes, doc is doing an internal ultrasound next time to determine the length of her cervix. Then check it every two weeks, if it starts to shorten any, she will get a stitch to close it up. We will also get to know the sex of the baby. That appt will be June 22. Funny, the first thing I started to do when I got in my car was call my momma to tell her the news of the baby's heartbeat, wow what a reality check.
We had horrible weather last night. THe sirens were going off from about 5 to 10 pm steady. Two tornados hit, one about 50 miles south of me, the other about 50 miles east of me. Both storms that produced the tornados came through my area. Hella B did NOT like the sirens or the thunder. Paced, barked and panted. She even panted heavily on my lap like she had been running a marathon. THought she was going to have a heart attack. I finally gave her one of my Xanax, she calmed way down, then finally about 10ish, got in her bed and went to sleep. Holy cow worse than a kid. I did get my dishwasher emptied and house vacuumed. Probably should of been taking cover, however you all know my attitude, if it is time for me to go, I will go no matter where or what I am doing. So I opened the front door, sliding back door and windows and listened to it pour down rain and the hail hit the ground, metal and house. So peaceful.
Hello to everyone, no personals, need to get busy as I got here so late.
Have a wonderful 3 day weekend, Chelle enjoy your trip with doggies.
Super quick post for me....as I'm crazy busy at work trying to finish a project AND get my Individual Development Plan (IDP) done by 2:15.
Annie - I'm so happy for you and Sam that you got to hear the heartbeat and that she is out of danger for miscarriage!
Ellen - I hope the meds start helping soon.
Ceejay and Happy - Please stay safe with all the storms in your area.
Mel - Sending good thoughts and healing hugs your way.
Laura - So sorry that the manager is gone. So much tension/stress/negativity is not good in the workplace (or anywhere for that matter). Enjoy the circuit classes!
Shad - keep on bobbing, and come up for air every now and then. And please keep us posted about Mel (when you hear from Jen).
The company sponsored a series of retirement education seminars and I didn't realize that by committing to attend one, I had committed to the entire series of 4 sessions. Guess I read through the registration info too quickly and didn't realize they build on one another. Oops. The first one was today and we have homework, LOL. Should be good to spend this time on planning. The guy who led the seminar pointed out people spend a lot of time planning their vacations, surely retirement merits at least as much planning, right?
Last night was my hair appt. Tonight is the circuit class. Tomorrow night I have no firm plans, but I will probably make a cheesecake for bf's mom and aunt. I haven't made one in ages, but I think the last couple I made were for meals with the mom/aunt and they've been hinting for another lately... I already have the ingredients purchased.
Saturday morning will be my circuit class, and in the afternoon I'm going out to visit with a friend (the one who lost her dh last year). We'll hang out, get together with another friend, and I'll stay overnight by her house.
Extremely rainy overnight and this morning. Not sure what it's doing out there now, but I'll have to run out for a sandwich shortly, so I'll find out soon enough. This morning on the train, we passed by the one area in the suburb next door to mine that always floods. Of course it was totally flooded this morning after all the rain overnight. Quack.
Okay, better get this posted and get back to work.
Morning all,
Haven't seen anything from Mel although I did leave my computer on last night - forgot to turn it off, so there may be something at home. Seems she is not in here today.
And speaking of not in, I'd better be out as well. I have 6 more transactions to document for this course and the final proof read and then hand it over to the company for sign off. The reporting one will be fairly simple I hope and then the real biggie which I will have to do on the road.
Yes I go into the field next month - June 4th I go to Mackay up the coast and then around the inland areas of the Bowen Basin and Peak Downs. Very close to where I saw the flocks of cockatoos feasting on the sunflower seeds. Probably too late to see that this year. I get home on 25th June. Another 3 weeks of this project after that and I am done - maybe.
Anyway better get on with it, if I can get these things done today, I don't have to think about working over the weekend.

Good morning ladies,
Yay - this holiday (Memorial Day) is traditionally the kick off to the summer season. However it's unseasonably chilly so I'm not sure summer is on everyone's mind! But we have an extra day off so that's what's great. I have sooooo much to get done this weekend - won't be much of a holiday. But we are hoping to put our house up for sale within 2 months so I have to keep my eye on the prize.
Short day at work today - lots of people are taking the day off and we get out early so it will be hard to sit on our hands and wait until the bell rings and we are free! but I'd better get moving. Will catch up on personals later.
Hope you got your pain under control Mel Love to the rest of the chicks
Well today's vacay consisted of getting up at 7, and out the door by 8:15 to get to the tire place...$240.00 later I have two new tires, alignment, balance and bucket of tears...really didn't want to spend on that but had to...well now, can be safe in my travels. Stopped and filled tank altho only a little under 3/4s tank it still cost me 25 bucks. Then to dad's house and around lunch time he says, are you hungry, I'll buy if you go get subway....off I went...lol 3:00 getting ready to fold a load of towels then hanging dress clothes out of washer. Work at 5. Then off from both places for 3 days.......makes tonight less painful.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial weekend...let us remember those you died for our freedom and safety.
Annie
Car repairs tank a hunk out of pocket book. I just paid the taxes on my car which really ouched. And filled the tank----Yikes.-- Poor Hella--Glad she settled down after the xanax. Great news for the expecting mom.
Shad
The next three weeks will go by fast.
Happy
I thought about you today as I drove by the wheat field. They are turning golden brown. Yes, my nerves got a little rattled when the siren's started going off. The weather underground websight was showing tornado vortex's in our are and your area.
Laura
Sounds like you are going to have a busy week end.
As for me yesterday was a pain. My bff was to be a the doctor's office by 1 and her appointment was to be at 1.30 p.m. Would you believe that it was 4 p.m. before she was called back. They told her if we needed to go some where we could. My uncle lives up the road so we went to his house for a bit. They wanted to see the new Rav. They both liked it. After she saw the doctor we went back to Jonesboro then went to eat. I spent the night. I heard her get up a couple of times to go to the bathroom, but she told me this morning that she had IBS again and was in the bathroom for about 6 times. She's doing exactly like I did when I used to eat out. I've been leaving off certain food items and I've gotten better. The four hour wait didn't help matters. We were both stiff.
Got to see one of my class mates mother. She recognized me before I could say anything. She'd been to urgent care for a sinus problem on the other side but she recognized some other people in the office where we were.
Since my bff was sick this morning I left earlier than planned but that's okay I got to get my hair cut, and come home to get my car registered, tagged and the taxes paid. Ouch on the price of the taxes, but I knew they would be in the ball park. The money was in my checking account. She was wanting me to cut her hair and put in a perm but I don't think I can do that any more. I can't stand to be around bleach and ammonia would be as bad. I might could trim her hair and it really needs it-- about 6 inches worth.
I have had a headache all day. I'm blaming it on my sinuses. BP was 122/75
I stopped by the dealership to ask about the paper work which they had already mailed to me. She checked online and they had been delivered but I had to sign for the package. So when I got home I had a note to come to the post office. The guy behind the counter saw that the mail was from Toyota and asked if I had purchased a new car. Don't you love being in a small town where every one knows every one's business!
Unfortunately I have to work Sunday and Monday but I did take a vacation day for Wednesday--I'm getting excited about seeing my sis and family, especially the grandbaby.
Hello all. Just a quick pop-in. The circuit class last nite was fine. Work flew by today. We got our responses to our audit sent off & the boss was happy. She said we could lv early when it was around 1:30 ( office closed at 3 today). The auditor showed up around 2 pm with I assume a question re our responses, but I still left a few minutes later even while she was still in w/ the boss, lol. So far did some organizing of paperwork and a dog walk.
Hope everyone has a good & safe weekend. Mel, hope you're on the mend from whatever ails you!!
Morning
A quick one for me today. I'm finishing the laundry and want to get outside to cut back the bushes. And I need to go to the grocery store and Walmart.
Quick pop in for me. Been hustling around the house doing this and that. Getting ready to meet a new guy for dinner. Not getting excited about anything...just sick of dating and it not working out.
Got a texted from Chelle, she said to tell all you chicklets hello and also Mischief's blood test came back good!!
My brother is in town, but still cannot seem to work him into my schedule or his. He makes plans with everyone but me, well fine then, I don't like you that much either. Love you but not like you....
Good Afternoon Chicks! making it thru work seems to be a slower day, but just found out I don't have to work on MONDAY anymore. I actually get to spend the day with DH and the kidlets.
Meds seem to be helping already, definitely sleeping better thru the night and that is making a HUGE difference. Now, I just need to kick these allergies and I'll be good to go!
Wel, I should get back to work hope everyone has a great Saturday/Sunday!!
Quick post from me. Been frantically busy this weekend trying to tie up all ends before I go away next weekend. Think I have earned my right to sit and watch the footy now.

Hi ladies,
The lovely cool weather is gone and summer is back. Sunny, 90 degree days for the week going forward. I need to get out and do some yardwork, will have to go to bed early tonight and get up early and get out there. I was going to work after dusk yesterday but DH said the mosquitos are bad and after all this yuckky flood water, I certainly don't want to be bit by anything that hatched in that!
The bathroom reno is coming along. They sealed the tile so we can't go in there until Tuesday. I think the colors flow nicely. Except for one thing. The room is broken up into 2 rooms - one contains the outside window, the toilet, and the tub and shower. The other is the "dressing" room with the vanity and sink. We selected a tan color with a hint of pink in it to warm up the room as the tile is a warm beige. I wanted something light and neutral but a contrast enough to pop off the white painted woodwork and crown moulding. In some places they replaced the sheetrock, in others it's the original stuff. The new stuff had a green board and the old stuff was painted over white. They did put 2 coats of primer on the walls. The room with the window is the exact color we wanted. A warmish tan. The vanity room however is a distinct pink Noticeable different color. We are all mistfied. I changed the light bulb - we just have a bare bulb hanging from the wall socket - to one which simulates natural daylight. No difference. It also looks the same way at night so it's not just the daylight affecting it. The room with the new wallboard is the one that is the more natural color. And I don't understand where the pink came from as this is definitely a brown based color. Always something DH may have to have them paint again. The cabinets and vanity are supposed to be in this week - hopefully by next week it will be done. Can't wait to get into that soaker tub. And from what I read these soaker tubs are gaining popularity with people who are getting tired of almost breaking their necks trying to crawl over the wide expanse you have with a whirlpool tub that is set into a frame. I know I've had issues with them, especially when you are wet and slippery. This tub is the width of a regular one.
Yesterday I counted up all my loose change I've been saving for a long time - had over $300 I told DH I'd use half of it for getting mulch and some flowers for outside to spruce up the place for show and the other half I want to bank for my "toy" fund He had over a hundred dollars himself that he added to the pot. In all that change only found 1 silver dime.
I guess yesterday was my lazy day which means I have to crank it up today. DH's glasses are ready finally and I have to take my new sunglasses back as I can't seem to read anything with them as in clock face to tell time. Something is off. I also want to wash my car and get a little bit of outside things done. So we agreed to work this afternoon and clean up and go out for an early supper. DH promised me a soft serve ice cream cone!
Shad - I hope that you can get caught up with everything that needs doing. No fun rushing through things and I know you like to be prepared and be thorough.
Ellen - what a nice surprise to actually have a holiday for you and the family - have a good time. Hope your weather is better - my Mom was complaining about it being cold and rainy.
Annie - how did the date go? Bummer on the brother's lack of interest. Some of them are like them. Too bad they don't "get it". Wack on the side of the head... Was watching the opening for the Indy 500 race. I am surprised at how many of these "red blooded Americans" don't treat the national anthem with the respect it deserves. I also don't like it when those who sing the anthem "put their spin" on the song - some things should be sung exactly as the original. And is there any song more mournful than Taps?
Ceejay - did you get the chores done? Ouch on paying those darn sales taxes
Laura - hope you are getting outside and enjoying your weekend.
Michelle - hope you got all the work stuff done too and can have the weekend to enjoy with DH and DMIL.
Mel - are you feeling any better?
I'd better get something in my belly and get outside. Enjoy your Sunday.
I did get to cut back the bushes. I'd been wanting to do that for a long time.
Don't really care what the land lord. He say's it's our duty to cut the grass and trim the bushes. I'm not standing on a ladder to trim bushes.
Happy
I hear you on the athlete's that to me disrespect the national athem. I too do not like the different version's other give it. I found a nest with an egg but left for a bit. When I came back the egg was gone. I'm so glad the momma bird got it. I was going to leave that branch.
Annie
I'm anxious to hear about your date. Was it instant chemistry? Where did you meet him, CVS?
