Arabella - Good luck on the hike! 3 hours is a long time but the fall colours are beautiful! I think I'll try the water too - I need more water anyways!

Mel - I love hummus anyways, but I recently found one I love, it's a sweet red pepper hummus and it's SO GOOD. Or if you like spicy they make spicy ones too. I'll get the brand name for you and post it!

Morning Girls

Count me in as another who LOVES hummus, but like Liz I have to have a flavor in it, I like the roasted red pepper and there is this three pepper one that is really spicy and I love it on tortilla chips of all things...the brand I normally get is at Kroger, called Athenos ...

Thanks for all the birthday wishes ( on here and facebook ), I had a great birthday...ate all, got bad heartburn, etc ...haha ...

so glad it is Friday, worn out from work all week and need to relax this weekend...great cold weather coming my way ...

See ya !!

I will def try the flavored hummus! Sounds like red pepper is the one to try!

Carri-Glad you had a great birthday dinner minus the heartburn!

I got my flu shot yesterday (the boys did too) and I woke up not feeling the best...I didn't think you could get sick from it? Any opinions? I have a wedding to go to tmw so I need to get better fast lol

Weigh in is tmw....hoping for any loss at all! No gain!! lol

I am feeling better now that I have been up and cleaning/organizing pretty much all day.
Is the red pepper hummus spicy? Just wondering because I am not a spicy fan

Hi, girls! I'm AWOL again? still? I'm hoping the high winds we've got going on here will blow away the black cloud I've had over my head for way too long now. Just when I think I'm starting to get a grip from last week's adventures in water heater and DH's injury h*ll, today he got in a car accident and our roof leaked. Chocolate and pizza to the rescue! Sigh... I am seriously out of my mind! On a better note, I just got back from a little walk, and I really did try imagining that the wind was blowing my problems away. I think I'll go with that visualization and try to get back in the groove.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Thumbs up Saturday!

And the rejoicing shall be great! The hike was really good yesterday. I ended up going for a shorter hike to get back to town earlier -- about two hours. And I can tell you, it was enough. I was dripping sweat. Our humidex was over 90 and the trail is very hilly. I really like that kind of intermittent increased effort -- it's like natural interval training. I'm trying to talk DH into going for a hike tomorrow.

All this increased water hasn't led to weight loss yet. In fact, the morning before I started it I was down 3 pounds from my starting weigh-in (too bad I hadn't changed ticker -- only 1.2 down from ticker) and then the next morning I was back up 2.2 of them. But I'm sure it's just an adjustment. My skin looks better already, less dry. I always drink a lot of water but maybe the body absorbs it better this way?

Carri, hummus and tortilla chips are a natural! I tend to get a little more carried away with them than baby carrots, though.

Mel, my favorite hummus is Adonis brand. I'm not sure how widely it's sold -- the Lebanese grocer around the corner stocks it. If you can find it and you like Middle-Eastern food, it's a fantastic brand.

Liz, let me know how the water works for you. I feel like it's one item in a bag of tricks that I seem to be putting together that will make this thing WORK!

Auntie g, hope the wind blew that bad energy away. I do that exact same thing when it's windy and I'm in a state. I think about the wind bringing change. We're having our roof done now because we had "a water feature" in the living room a few weeks ago. Ugh.

Have a fantabulous Saturday, Wimmin. Let's make this day work for us!

Mel - Yes I have heard the flu shot can make you sick. My friend got quite ill after having it, only for a day or so though. The sweet red pepper one I have is not spicy. It's coloured kinda orange, so you think it's spicy, but it's not. I don't like spicy either! I get spicy for DH though.

Carri - Happy weekend! I will be starting back to work Dec 15th so I will be rejoicing the weekends with you then.

auntie g - My goodness, some good luck must be coming your way soon! Sorry about all the crap you've been dealing with! But I think your mantra sounds like a really good one!

Arabella - Glad you had a good hike! That weight jump sounds like an adjustment to me for sure, I don't think anyone ever gained weight from drinking water!! Also I bet you you're retaining a bit anyways since you did that hike, your muscles probably really got a workout!

Things are going well here, working on some dog training - she is a smart girl and is already sitting and coming reliably, and her stay isn't bad either! She is doing really well with house training too, thank goodness. We're planning a zoo trip on Monday with some friends, I can't wait! Hope everybody has a great weekend.

Auntie-I am so sorry that things aren't working out right now for you....sending good vibes your way!

Arabella- I'm sure it's just an adjustment, going on a hike sounds fun (as long as it's not too long lol).

Liz- Good luck with all the puppy training and congrats on hitting the 180s!!!

Carri- Hope you are having a great weekend!

I woke up to good news...I jumped on the scale and saw 207!! I was soooo excited,it hasn't been the best week but cutting out alot of salt def helped bc I wasn't bloated this morning. I am now 5 pounds from my Halloween goal and 8 from Onederland yay!

Thanks for the good vibes, girls! I'm in a better mental state today, but haven't had time to get to the grocery store, so today was a mish mosh of weird eating, and tomorrow DH and I are going out for breakfast for our anniversary, so I know that won't be healthy. Can't afford to go out to dinner right now, but that would probably be worse, diet-wise, anyway... Another Monday is just around the corner, right?

Arabella, congrats on the hiking- sounds like fun, even if it was a bit hot! I'd never heard the term "humidex" before, but I like it! We just call it the heat index here, but it really is about the humidity, so your word's better!

Liz, that's great that the puppy training is going so well! We didn't know a thing about puppies when we got our girl, but she had us trained in no time! Have fun at the zoo!

Mel, congrats on the WI - you're so close! Keep up the good work!

Carri, hope you're having a nice weekend!

Happy Sunday to all!

Better day for a hike yesterday, just cool enough that I didn't miss my sweater when it transpired that DGS had forgotten his. DH and I did another hike yesterday, along with DS, his GF and DGS. It was a really nice hike and just hilly enough for good aerobic boost. We miscalculated a bit -- thought the trail looped back and DH realized after we were about an hour in that it didn't. So we headed off-trail to find our way to the road. Then we went home and had brunch: scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, dill, red onion and capers. It's one of my favorite breakfasts.

So that was about an hour and 20 minutes. DH and I took another walk after dinner, down to the water to see the sunset.

All still going according to plan diet-wise too. But I'm not going to get overconfident, just going to keep on with good behavior. I know that slippery slope intimately. How many times have I come on here and said, hey, this is getting EASY! And then the next day had to come in and say, "remember I said how easy this was getting? Yeah, well..."

Liz, I'm glad to hear the puppy training is going well. Sounds like you've gotten yourself a nice one. What kind is she?

Mel, 207? YAY YAY YAYYYYYY! You're doing fantastic! Going to hit your goals, Girl!

Auntie g, happy anniversary! How many years have you been married? This year's going to be 16 for me, and we've been together for 21 this fall.

Carri, how was your weekend? Hope you had fun!

Okey-doke. I'm supposed to be working so I guess I'll grab myself another and get something done. Let's make it a good one!

Thank you so much Arabella! I hope that you have a great week! Yay for going on a hike and walking to see the sunset sounds so romantic

I wanted to clean my van out before I get an oil change later but brrr its only 49 outside right now! My kids stayed at my moms sat night bc DH and I had a wedding to go to...maybe that wasnt the best idea bc their schedule is so messed up! Logan (my 4yr old) was wide awake at 11, WAY past all of our bedtimes. As soon as he finally fell asleep Cody (my 6 yr old) woke up saying he saw something in his room...there was of course nothing there but needless to say the 6am alarm was my enemy!

I am back in my calorie counting mode so heres to a great week!
